I think this year will be incredibly exciting for rallycross, I can see it being incredibly close and competitive

A whole DiRTy Gossipers Forum on the PS4? We should feel exploited! XD Yeah forgot to mention that, nice nod to the community from the team :) This picture from the blog... ...sums up how I intend to be spending many hours with the game! Come on April! I was planning on spending them similarly, however I feel a more accurate example would be a tree in Wales!

The road book is out, interesting read for console players. The game has also finally gone gold! Very excited now!
-
Looks like it could just be some promotional event, but they could very easily be collecting reference data whilst they are out there. Whether that is for Dirt Rally or for a future game is another thing entirely.

I'm all about the physical copy: a game isn't owned unless it's sitting in a box on the shelf. ;) Same, plus with box art as cool as dirt's, I can't not have the box! I shall be pre ordering from somewhere else, probably game I have been eyeing up the Legend Edition on Amazon... ...the game, a documentary (which I already have on DVD), some extras and, most crucially: A SHINY BOX. How's the PS4 search going?

its a wonder why they don't make sporty versions out of their road going equivalents, would be cool to see a sporty polo or ds3, especially if it was something like the new focus rs -

Unfortunately with rally, that's how it goes sometimes. You don't seemingly do anything wrong, and yet you are out. Sometimes the tiniest mistake ends your rally, whereas someone else gets away with murder in comparison. My older brother won his championship a few years ago whilst lying in bed. All the other guy had to do was finish on the last event, but he spun at low speed and beached the car on the very edge of the stage. Like literally 3/4 of the car was still on the road, but the front wheels were stuck and there were no spectators to help, so that's where they remained -
Only the yellow, blue and red one I think. Think it was in dirt 3 too, along with Liam doran's rs200

Erm, let's not get carried away and start being selective with our memories. Mini WRC and the i20 are based on concept cars, the Impreza R4 is not an R4 car at all. The MkII Escort isn't truly authentic to the category it's in. They've done well, but they have made compromises and settled for the best they can get at times. Yeah, but those are pretty much ALL licensing issues. Not the team's fault. And? Regardless of the reason, it's still compromising, which is what you specifically suggested they had not been doing in DR. Whereas lots of the game is, in fact, a compromise for all kinds of reasons, such as budget. That doesn't mean it's bad, not at all. It's just being honest about the reality of the project. If they really haven't been settling for second best, they would have said "Well then, we can't have the actual cars we want, so we just won't have them." (which is the current scenario with Group B RX!) The same would apply to actual RX Group B cars as well you know. A new license needs to be acquired and at this point, that's likely a bit of a money problem (because of licensing. Also finding examples of the cars). They do, at least, have a few applicable source files from DiRT 3 (RX RS200 and Metro for example). Letting the Group B cars into RX if they couldn't get the proper versions wouldn't be the teams fault either. It'd be... a compromise! To have something instead of nothing. Exactly like those previous four cars I mentioned. :) I think the truth at this point is that the team do not thing Group B RX is important enough to accept a compromise. Whereas the other cars were, hence the little contradiction in reasoning. What I meant was; They included rally, they went and got the best selection of cars available to them, and reproduced some of the best stages in the world in the best countries in the world They included hill climb, they recreated the worlds most famous hillclimb with all 3 variations and some of the most famous cars ever to tackle it They included rallycross, and they went and got the full World RX licence, with 3 recreated, real world tracks. Thats what I meant by not compromising, everything they have done they've gone all out. Yes they have had the odd licence issue, such as having the wrong rear wing on a Subaru, but I don't see that as the end of the world. SLRE included rallycross, but they didn't do it any justice by not adding a single RX car, and it's just not as exciting.

They've already said they would only do group b rx if it was done properly, such as the actual cars that competed, rather than just using the ones currently in game for rallying. I wouldn't mind if they did it either way, but for dirt rally, they haven't been settling for second best at any point, so why start now? Doing a historic rx pack would probably be a fair amount of work (sourcing cars, licenses, liveries etc.).Personally I'd rather have another rx track or rally stage
-
Didn't notice anything. Well I live on a farm with countless numbers of rallycars in various states of working order!
-
Interesting... Maybe some more liveries? Don't see it being more new cars, but I could easily be very wrong! Sounds like we won't have too long to find out now!
-
So quantum break which is also released on April 5th has just gone gold. Wonder how long before dirt does the same?
-
No this was an old tease from the team a few years ago. They were working on early versions of dirt rally at this point

Shame neuville meeke and Latvala all had unfortunate problems and retirements that weren't really their own faults. Would have kept it more interesting. But very happy for Paddon, he's got a win coming soon -
The guides were originally written by Jon Tucker and then I turned them into a script. The guy who does the voice over in English was at one time a rally instructor but it isn't Ryan. That's cool, I thought Jon may have done something, but I thought it might have been to long ago!

Just putting my gossip/tin foil hat on, I was wondering if these new tutorial videos will be voiced, and by who? They could easily have been done by someone on the team or one of codies voice artists. However I thought that they could also have been done by someone who knows a lot about rallying. Then I thought of Ryan Champion. He's already lent his car for the game, and he knew about console release a while back as he teased it on absolute rally radio. Just a thought anyway

As much I as I like Latvala, I believe he can only win the championship when Ogier no longer competes! -

Yeah it's been called rally 2 for about a year or 2 now, but super rally has existed for a while now -
I caved and got an xbox just before Christmas 2014. Luckily April 5th is in my easter holidays, just as I get back from skiing. Although, knowing my luck I'll break my wrist whilst I'm out there!

Nothing gossip related in here, but it's gearing up excitement for the release! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SjQoUQ6Qvyw
