  1. Sounds like my copy of dirt 4 has arrived back home!

Unfortunately we failed scruitineering on our rally, hoping to get things sorted so we can get out to the forests tomorrow!
    What happened?
Driver's seat was out of date by 8 days! Someone told us of a guy not too far away who had seats for sale though, so we've managed to get a new one in and are all sorted now!

  2. I feel as though people are jumping to saying that the handling is 'arcade' or not as good as dirt rally. Remember dirt rally wasn't perfect. Although I haven't played it properly yet and not on my own wheel, I think overall there have been many improvements, but people seem to be focussing too much on things like the rear end grip to notice them

Any sign of your Tesco delivery @RallyDriven? I just checked the parcel tracking online and mine hasn't moved since it left the warehouse. Got a horrible feeling I'm going to be moaning at Tesco later...
I'm on my way to Carlisle for a rally at the moment, so I only have the website to go by, but it still says dispatched and the moment and not delivered. Hopefully it comes today so I can play on Sunday when I'm back

@tbtstt I've spoke to Tesco, they said that it should be delivered on Friday, but they said they're looking into why it hasn't been dispatched yet and will get back to me soon, so I'll let you know the outcome
Awesome news @RallyDriven, keep me posted please!
Mine was dispatched at 6 this morning, so if it's coming next day it should be here tomorrow, which means waiting till Sunday for me, but fortunately I have Monday off work to make up for it!

  5. One thing I would really love is a wheel and suspension damage system like beam, where you can misalign, twist and smash wheels, bend, brake and collapse suspension and so on. Especially during things like hitting curbs and rocks heavily, or big rolls with heavy impacts on the wheels. Would be really cool

Because I'm simracer for almost 20 years; yes: I would chose proper physics simulation over real manufacturer name on the car label.
What is the point of driving Subaru if it doesn't behave like its equivalent from real life? None - it's not the Subaru anymore.
Nice placing yourself on a high horse being a "simracer" for 20 years.

This discussion was about the damage model being crippled by manufacturer demands, so why do you start talking about the physics simulation all of a sudden? Did Paul say that manufacturers demand "MOAR GRIP!"?
Because simulation is not about simulating tires physics only.
Speaking about manufacturers: what if, in regard to give licence for a car, some manufacturer would ask for fastest car in a pace? What if they want to place their car always on P1? Should CM take this deal?

Personally realistic damage has never much bothered me. I like to think that I don't ever have to see a wrecked car if I drive well.
yeah.. and this is why YT is full of ridiculously looking crash videos (incl. ones attached to recent posts in this thread). A lot of people loves to watch replays. And they judge a title by what they see. Personally I cannot stand such unrealistic damage on videos. Even in case a tire model is stellar.
I would argue that the crash physics and physical damage modelling on dirt is by far better than any other 'sim' racing games out there, especially when it comes to cars leaving their wheels. You roll a car in forza or AC or project cars and it looks dreadful. And the damage doesn't look that great either

I think it's always going to be something that people will never fully agree on. Unless you are using huge simulators like F1 teams that can process everything properly like aerodynamics and such then you will never get everything perfect.

If it's not perfect, I still think it will be the best rally simulator game that's been made, taking dirt rally's place. I don't know about RBR mods, but the standard game was no where near anything that was in dirt rally

Has anyone else ordered their copy from Tesco? I just checked my order confirmation and it says "delivery by Monday 12th June": I hope going for the steelbook doesn't mean I don't get it before the weekend!
Yeah me too, it worried me as well, but the delivery dates in the email say between Thursday the 8th and Monday the 12th, so hopefully it should come on Thursday and Friday. It does say on the website pre order for delivery on day of release, so I'm hopeful

how come so many are getting early access to the game?
I'd just like to re-iterate this, as I can appreciate it might be not very clear at the moment! Everyone on the forums with early access to the game has been under NDA with what they've seen previously, and they're essentially testing the patched version for us. It's Steam only testing at the moment too - so please spare a thought for our community testers who play on console! ;) I know it's super frustrating for those of you who want a hands on, but got to do this stuff by the book.

Thanks for clearing that up, still wish i could get into it though, specially being a long weedend here so i would have plenty of time to put into it with no pesky work interruptions

do you know what time of the day it will unlock on steam?
    Midnight, your local time. :D
But but but I've got work the day after... When am I supposed to sleep!
I've got a 5 hour drive to Scotland!

@gfRally I'm Leon ;) and if a Dirt 4 inspired heist movie goes ahead, I'm all in!

I'm not good being put on the spot as you can tell xD
    Pleased to meet? you Sir..
You guys are all brave souls for allowing them to do this..  I hate doing stuff like that, I would be stuttering and sweating. :)

Why do you think you didn't see my interview!? :P
