  1. Best way is to judge for yourself in 8 day's time!

I once (very briefly) chased an Impreza through a rally stage after it had been off and rejoined the road behind us, then very quickly overtook, giving kind of like a real life chase cam! They threw it into a tight corner and I couldn't believe how much grip 4wd gave them! They soon disappeared into the distance, however 4 corners later and we found them spun out blocking the stage, which was a tad annoying. Unfortunately my go pro had run out of battery so I don't have a video of the incident!

  2. Pssst, this is going live tonight! And there are a few faces you might recognise... (not just ours, you're used to our mugs by now) https://youtu.be/4n9y-urNw6Y
My interview was pretty bad haha! I remember at the start you asked me to say what game I was playing and I wasn't sure if I was breaking NDA by saying dirt 4 (despite the fact I was stood in front of a massive board with dirt 4 written all over it!)

I really like the continuing trend of Playstation controllers being modded to essentially be Xbox controllers. It's almost like official proof that Japan still has yet to make a comfortable controller for human hands.
It actually angers me how bad the PS3 controller was. Every time I touched it it made me feel sick, whereas Xbox controllers are actually shaped like my hands.

Along with everybody else, all this footage is making me so excited for next week!

Passed the Dirt truck first thing this morning but it was closed. Went past again at lunchtime and it was packed, so I shall look again tomorrow!

And yes, it was definitely Gronholm who rolled, I saw it happen!
I only saw half of it, he was flying through the air upside down when I turned around!

  5. Il give young Oli a run for his money ;)
I was tempted to have a go but I didn't want to a) embarrass myself and b) I wanted to play rally

Just played Michigan in a Peugeot r5 at lydden, was very fast and very good fun! I did miss meeting seb loeb whilst playing it though :(
How's the sound of that 208 R5 ? Recorded from the real car?
Couldn't hear it, or see it with that unusual yellow ball of light in the sky? Never seen that in England before

  6. I won't be able to play until the Sunday unfortunately. That's if it turns up at all!

I live on a farm, not too remote, but enough to confuse delivery drivers. In the past few months, we've genuinely had someone attempt to deliver a parcel to a peacock, and another who delivered a parcel to a horse. Me getting dirt 4 on time is not looking hopeful!

Since I cannot pass up a wishlist.  Here a a couple of mine:

New Zeland, because of this pic. https://goo.gl/images/9halS3

Something like WGB Great Omre stage

I've been mentioning this for years now, never going to happen, but this is just a beautiful location

And just like others have said Kenya/Safari
BUT, the cars must be properly outfitted with safari running gear (snorkels, roof tires, etc) and we need mud!

i think some of those tight boggy roads there in Africa would be pretty unique, just parts, not a whole stage

The orme is a great stage, I've done it a few times. The kerbs are an absolute killer if you get it wrong. Porlock hill is another great tarmac stage here in the uk

Ireland or the Isle of Man would be good. The Welsh stages could probably pass for any upland forestry area in the UK, so I could probably cobble together a British Rally Championship!

U.K. Rallies do tend to differ quite a lot from forest to forest. Wales tends to have a lot more technical and flowing stages, whereas quite a few English forests tend to follow a sort of grid pattern so you get a lot of long straights and sharp turns. You've also got the Somerset stages which is famed for its red dust

So, in that video at about 00.13 seconds, looking at that black bar where the countries are listed, is the space at the right for an additional surprise location, or for the rally school, or something else, or did Codies just like an asymmetrical arrangement?

I imagine that will be a mountain range in which we can YourStage the hell out of the hillclimb discipline.

I like the idea l, but hillclimb is about learning the route to set the fastest time!

  10. On reacting to moments:

"You might suddenly have a helicopter appear on stage in front of you that's kicking up a big cloud of dust, and how do you react to that? Do you let it put you off or plough on regardless..."

This sounds awesome. Did you see this, Helicopter Guy?

Yeah I saw it, scared the shit out of me and made me crash. Turns out I'm not good at reacting on the fly
