Personally i find VR much more suited to simulators than FPS, the feeling of scale and distance adds a whole different level to it, samsung VR doesnt do it justice at all. Especially flight sims I dont want to do without VR anymore.
Even more stuff going on in the cockpit of an aircraft...
VR doesn't even have any plans on how they are going to make me FEEL the buttons and controls.

If you just want to be a "gamer" I see no problems with VR, however.... lots of us use simulation to keep sharp, or practice, VR is many many years out from being able to compete with a mock cockpit and hard controls.
Wel, yeah obviously! But how are you supposed to bring the cockpit of a plane to life in your living room? Plus each plane is going to be different? This doesn't make sense! And anyway, how does having a screen setup (even if it is a triple) allow you to feel buttons and controls?

What your talking about is purpose built simulators, built for proper companies or motorsport teams. Doesn't really have any relavance to dirt rally coming to PSVR does it?

  2. I played PSVR dirt rally at codies, it was pretty cool! First ever VR experience, and also the first time I've played Dirt on a wheel since January 2015, but the sensation of VR meant I got the hang of it very quickly! Also, as @Rallycameraman found out, I'm not as good at virtual co-driving as I am at real life co-driving! I put it down to being an Xbox player and having no idea of the PlayStation controller layout!

  3. The only thing that is unpredictable about the physics is landing on jumps, as if you don't have the wheels straight on landing, it will veer off randomly. It runs alright on Xbox, but I played it for a couple of weeks, then went back to dirt, and the difference between 30 and 60 fps was staggering! I've never really put a lot of thought into it before as I've only played on a console, but it does make a huge difference!

  4. Ok, I'm going to stop all this arguing and speculating by breaking nda and dropping a big gossip bomb:

So, following the success of Battlefield 1, the new game will be called DiRT 1, and will be set in the early 1900's, the dawn of all out rallying. Players will get to drive all the modern machinery of the era, including the 1914 Detroiter (no worrying about Toyota licence this time!). Console versions will utilise Kinect and PSVR to experience things such as turning the starter handle, and falling out the car on sharp turns and roll overs. Paul has also put on an old-timey British accent for the co-driver.

There, hope I don't get in too much trouble

I wish I could drop a gossip bomb to stop all this grammaring ;)
Wishes are made to come true, just so u know... ;)
DiRT Showdown 2 DiRT Showdown 2 DiRT Showdown 2 DiRT Showdown 2 DiRT Showdown 2! :D

That's a favorite gif of yours isn't it?
Its quite dark outside today in the UK isnt it? :)
Bloody dark, I agree. Let's discuss it for a couple of pages
But we don't all live in the U.K. We can't leave people out or someone might get their feelings hurt in their safe space.
Well maybe you should all live in the UK, also known as the worlds greatest place to live [/startarguments]

  6. Yeah, I could see it being pretty disappointing if you're from the US, but it is difficult to consolidate an entire country like that into a playable map in a game. I wonder what their version of the uk would end up like? Probably the entire city of London in intense detail with a couple of farms around the outside

  7. I got it free with games for gold on Xbox, hated the physics, and the only thing that tells you that you're at pikes peak is the name. Tbf I've hardly put any time into it, mainly because it was free, and the physics put me off quickly. But the scale of the map is a really cool concept

  8. Not a fan of the Hyundai livery at all, I didn't really like this years that much either, although I liked it more when I saw it in the flesh at rally gb this year.

edit: also, I think people should kind of accept that times move on, and rally cars change. Same with F1, there's a reason why they are so different from the cars of previous decades! Although I think the manufacturers could probably do more to make the aero fit more to the looks of the car, as I bet the average person would ever guess that was a Yaris under all that aero kit!

  9. I don't like the Hyundai too much, which is annoying because I'm a big fan of Paddon and Neuville. The Yaris looks odd, especially the spoiler and the ridiculous vents on the rear behind the arches. Hoping the fiesta gets a nice livery, and I think the C3 will look cool no matter what colours they put on it! Fingers crossed that Evans signs for D-Mack, and someone sorts Mikkelson out with a private VW!
