I have joined, so I'll see you on the stages.  Though, its 60's in Greece, so I'll probably crash and burn!! :)

Yeah, I have a couple of friends who will probably be getting the game too who will probably struggle to get to grips with it at first, so I put it as 60's to start off!

If I did it correctly, there should be 3 events this week with two days to do each

Cool, I now have a Platform dropdown on Racenet!

Whats the League name @RallyDriven ?

It's the inventive name of Michaels League right now. I have no idea how stuff works so its probably not a very good league!

Edit: Also, no one is allowed to 'agree' with my posts anymore as I'm on 555. I'm already annoyed that two people gave me an 'awesome' to put me on 71 awesomes

    I know nothing ;)

You can now switch to console platforms on dirtgame.com, so get creating those leagues!

I think I've created a league on xbox, but when I try to link my xbox account with this account it says it cant because its already linked to a different CM account? think it might be one from the old forums?
You'll probably need to locate your old RaceNet account, unlink, and then link to your new one.
I have no idea what it would be, i've tried my old email account (one of those embarrassing first Hotmail accounts) with a few old passwords and didn't get anything. But ill keep trying

Edit: All sorted, managed to do it by signing in through xbox live then de-linking it, thanks for the help!

I've seen the first few in game captures on the Xbox one dashboard and I'm super excited! I'm even downloading the 2nd SLRE demo of Mexico to get me in the mood
Graphically, the XboxOne suffers ever so slightly compared to my PC, but the gameplay is every bit as awesome!  Iv tried to Twitch a few games, but can't until the official release, but I don't think that's Codies doing!  Remember to add me when you get on!
    What's your gamer tag?

console reviews are starting to flood in now with 7 days to release. Doing well on PS4 with a score og 86 from 11 critics, so far one of the highest rated ps4 games, level with fallout

Interesting to see the press reaction thus far to the console release. I hope what is perceived to be a less mainstream game continues to receive such high praise.

I see that the advance code competition is closed, so I now have my fingers (and other limbs) crossed...

Well, I heard Ben put in Mexico and a RS1800, so you should be pretty pumped for that. :D I'm also going to take more credit than I probably should for getting you that PS4 code!
Well massive thanks to you and everyone who put in a word for me: I am very grateful to you all!

I unpacked the PS4 and began downloading as soon as I got in from work last night (obviously!). It's a pretty chunky file (just under 43 GB in total) so I started it off, then popped out for an hour. Came back to find the progress bar was, surprisingly, over half full. 30 minutes later and it said it was ready so, full of excitement (far more than any adult should have for a game) I fired it up, entered my name, tweaked the options and got ready for some rallycross...

...however it turned out the PS4 was lying! It seems the game is "ready" once it has reached approximately 15%. At that stage you can open the game, set all the options and the like, but the bulk of the content is still downloading. Still it wasn't all bad, as you can play two "preview" rally events at that point, one in a Mini Cooper, the other in a Mk.II Escort.

Decided to start easy, so I went with the Mini: glad I did, as even with the Mini I was initially struggling! Managed to inadvertently get my first trophy after about 10 corners (I barrel rolled!), but after a few stages it started to click and soon after I claimed my first fastest sector time: hurrah!

Read the PS4 manual and discovered you can enable downloading while in "rest" mode, so I left it resting overnight. As of this morning it had downloaded about 20GB, so I'm hoping it might be all done by this evening.
That's the most irritating thing about the new consoles. I know you got a digital download, but if you buy a physical disc you HAVE to install all 50+ GB of content, and you only get enough HDD space for 10 games at that point. It's like buying a physical copy for PC and it's just a steam code, the CD doesn't have the content. :|
Ah, I didn't know that! So even physical copies have to be fully downloaded? My first disc game (MGS5) should arrive this week, so I was expecting to pop that in and play it straight away!*

(*if I can tear myself away from Dirt that is)
Yeah, but if it is the same as Xbox, it's a lot quicker as it's an install rather than a download, and you can play the content as it installs, similar to downloads

@kevm you're on Xbox one right? Mind if I as you?

  7. I'm looking forward to playing dirt in full 1080p on a 32" tv, rather than playing at minimum specs on my struggling laptop. Kind of wish I hadn't put so many hours into the game playing it that way, but it was hard not to! Haven't played since November/December now, so looking forward to 7 days time!

  8. So I'm back from my week's skiing, didn't cause myself any permanent damage*, and I'm now ready for Dirt in just over a week!

*I say permanent damage as there were many moments were I feared for my clumsy life. Falling and smashing through large chunks of frozen solid snow at high speed is incredibly painful!
