  1. P.S. I just bought SLRE for my complete PC Rally game collection. It's the first game to model the Great Orme stage correctly, and I've driven down there in real life! Previous WRC games just had a bit of it, and WRC5 has some Lord Of The Rings fantasy version with a big derelict castle at the end, which is not there in real life. It's like they looked at a few pictures of it online and said "that'll do!"
That's cool, I've done it as a competitive stage quite a few times, and it's very fast and technical. One important thing is the kerbs, those are absolute wheel killers, so I hope those are done properly e.g hitting them damages suspension or wheel or causes a puncture

I think the tweet is just a bit of a hint about full gravel pikes peak, pretty much aimed at us (the gossipers) to figure out

I'm not teasing, I'm just stating what I have been told as every other day I see on here 'I hope we get a Toyota' or 'I hope we get the DS3 WRC' It ain't gonna happen. I know the reasons why, but it certainly isn't my place to say what they are, just know that there won't be any Toyota's and there won't be any more Citroens appearing.
Yeah, it's been said so many times. There are reasons which a few of us know, but we can't say. They just aren't going to be in dirt rally unless something amazing happens at Toyota and Citroen's end.

Going off topic here, but didn't want to start a new thread. For anyone interested here's a video of me on the Brands Hatch stages this weekend, struggling in the rain on the wrong tyres, chasing Escorts and very nearly losing it through Graham Hill bend on the final lap!

Bugger! I didn't know you were entered for that: I'd have made more of an effort to get there if I'd known you were driving!
Only co driving still, once I've left uni and working full time, I'll hopefully make the shift!

    MG ZR?
Yes, same as the one in my avatar, almost standard 1.4l, managed to finish 3rd in class, and even got 19th fastest time on stage 7!

  5. When you are in the zone, there is a lot of adrenaline, Latvala was just thinking about getting back on the road asap. However, unfortunately our sport doesn't have a great rep for spectator safety, and when there's a video in the media of a rally car knocking down a spectator and seamingly driving off without caring, it doesn't look great. There's also the obvious safety point. I know the spectator was standing like a moron and bent down to save his camera rather than run for his life, but at the end of the day there's a rule in the sport that says if you hit someone, you should stop to see if they need medical attention, and Latvala broke that rule.

I would think that any further content from that point onwards will be DLC: though perhaps the console sales will fund some free extras further down the line!  ;)
I expect the console sales will fund some salaries, some dividends and the development of DR2. Or DiRt Totally Radical Offroad Experience, if the board have their way.
Ah, has that title been revised? Last I heard the board were still pushing DiRT Awesome Radical Sideways Experience?

I can see the quality of this thread degrading very quickly!

To change the subject; a true sportsmanship:

I was rooting for Meeke, but this makes me think of Ogier as a lot more than just the dominant driver of our time. What a great competitor.
I was a little surprised to see that photo, didn't think Ogier would be like that, but that's very much changed my opinion on him, true sportsmanship

Alright, now I reckon that April is anticipating a console release with full content including all fixes and updates that were planned for PC. The unravelled gossips about Colin McRae livery and the Impreza are probably going to be added to console copies as well as updates to PC in the same month.

We might as well anticipate these releases at the end of April as a result to the commemoration of a year from the release of EA.
But we know the console release is April 5th?

So, the game is ready to be shown to press already, there's a 'work in progress' text shown at the top, but we can assume that it is coming along nicely. I'd guess they are finalising getting some of the content in, making sure everything works the same as PC and optimising it
