Console release, Console release, Console release, Console release, Console release!
What else could they be announcing? It's either that, extra content or just the fact that the game will be fully released -
Our car, along with my back, would be ****ed if we took one of those jumps flat out!gfRally said:Talk to anyone in a non WRC car that rally's in RL about jumps of any kind. Most will tell you they tap brakes before a jump, most cars just can't handle a beating like that, lots of struts going thru the towers and occasionally the hood (bonnet).
In RL we wouldn't take the chances and speed that we do in the games, the risk isn't there, no resets in real life. -
Yeah the weather was pretty awful! I took my go pro out the rally car in an attempt to be all professional!tbtstt said:
You were there? Ha! Funnily enough I asked @Rallycameraman if he was going to be there, but not you!RallyDriven said:
Didn't know you were at the tempest! We were only that stage 3, wanted to do more but my brother's gearbox broke for the 4th event in a row! :(tbtstt said:
Sadly not. A mate and I were debating going, but he is now busy and I have work to do, so I'll have to give it a miss. The Tempest last weekend will be my only rally of 2015 (for shame!).Rallycameraman said:Page 2. This is not acceptable.
So whose going to Rally GB this weekend then?
Look forward to watching some video!
In gossip news, the F1 games have a permanent community manager now. Hopefully we will also see some more community stuff
Was rather a restrictive affair for spectators this year, so I ended up spending the day on Warren. Awful weather in the morning, but wasn't too bad in the afternoon.

I'll probably leave it to Luke in the future! -
Just so you know, this is the main hub of the forum, this is where the real talk is done! ;)jennyannem said:
*waves* Hoping to not be a stranger to you guys too!RallyDriven said:In gossip news, the F1 games have a permanent community manager now. Hopefully we will also see some more community stuff -

I tend to go by a self made rule where if I have a bad enough crash, I will retire from the event. In my last 5 attempts I haven't finished in Finland! Even trying to drive carefully, the speed gets the better of me and I wipe out! Can't wait to see what Sweden brings! -

Saying that, we're not privy to everything that happens behind the scenes. -
Toyota is completely impossible if I remember rightly -
Anyway, Halloween is over so let's stop talking about ghosts, good gossip @RodgerDavies ! It looks like we will definitely be getting either Hyundai i20 wrc and/or polo wrc. Possibly but less likely ds3 too. I really hope we get official liveries, especially this year's polo livery! -
I just don't think it is a good way to learn. You should be learning through listening to your co driver, not through lines or ghosts. They just don't belong in the game. Not saying that beginners shouldn't get help, just not in this wayEddDragn said:In real life there will be a man who will say you where you failed and why.
In the game it is easier to use a ghost or a color ribbon on the road. Both used in several "racing sims".i have never seen in a real rally ghosts Racing
Can you assert that the principle "follow a more experienced pilot" is not used in real training?
Almost so. This is a realistic GAME for a wide range of players.Fedemaisonnave said:so this is a sim -
I just don't think they have any place in a realistic rally game. That's not what rally is, it is you on your own against the elements. You shouldn't know what others are doing until the end of each stage, that's part of the challengeEddDragn said:
Ghosts is an important part of "driving school". They are good teachers. And they can be disallowed in rated/online races. Who said that you will be forced to play with ghosts? But many players will be glad to understand own mistakes using a ghosts.RallyDriven said:No ghosts! Would absolutely hate that! ARCADE! POPCORN! -
No ghosts! Would absolutely hate that! ARCADE! POPCORN!macebig said:Rally MP doesnt have to be straight on track.Just player ghosts or even timing can do it. -
Would there not be some kind of system where you set up a lobby, then everyone just basically plays through the rally by themselves, then you maybe get the results later when everyone is finished? -
I've just gone from 500kb to 1.9mb!Rallycameraman said:So my update isn't even download on 1mbps! I feel like i'm on 56k dial up!! -
-
I'm downloading from my house in town at uni, which is a lot faster than from my farm at home!
(still doesn't tempt me to move from my peaceful life) -
I see we have shifted from the entire history of subarus to the entire history of vauxhalls -
Dirt show at 3pm! Update today then!
Body is 4 characters too short for update -
Do they mean *they* can't slide the car in dirt?Rallycameraman said:So one of my friends thinks DiRT should've used updated RBR physics. Apparently you can't slide the car in DiRT :| -
That does look cool. Without the motion simulator it wouldn't be very easy to do though, as a you will often be relying on the movement of the car when reading notes, as you tend to spend a lot of time looking down! -
On the M4 in 50mph roadworks. I was on the way to meet Prince Charles (true story) but unfortunately that's apparently no excuseRallycameraman said:
Where did you get caught?RallyDriven said:
Could be worse, you could have to spend your morning taking a speed awareness course! ****ing average speed cameras!Rallycameraman said:Well looks like I won't be on DiRT again for a while. Burnt a motor out on wheel playing AC last night. Think I may save up for a thrustmaster wheel?
it was fun while it lasted :D -

Oh no, I'm only getting 4 free cars for a game I paid £30 for. Terrible -
I called the C4! Not in the 2000's class though. Getting interesting now as we are finally nearing the end of early access!

I'm unbelievably jealous! I nearly tried to get tickets too, but it was a bit too expensive plus I have a lot of uni work!
Enjoy the weekend, I'll be glued to my twitter feed and WRC+!
