Is there an option/feature where I can take turns and easily switch players on my PS4 console? I want to race against multiple local players on my PS4 console. While I'd prefer split screen, I can settle if we can simply take turns, and have the game keep track of our results. Thanks. PS4

Hello, I have grid for the Nintendo switch. The split screen mode is a lot of fun, only a lot needs to be patched. The Ki is much too strong at the beginning. there should be setting specifications that can then be corrected. The starting position setting should be fixed, because you never start as you set it (reverse order). If the Ki drives with only 3 tires, it still drives in first place. The Ki hardly makes mistakes, if it rams you, you fly away, the reverse is not possible. if you are broken, can no longer drive and have not been eliminated. you can only restart, even though the other player has finished. it should be like this when the penultimate car has reached the finish line is 10 seconds later. it would also be nice if you can drive qualifying and thus also change the setting of the car.

Why would they give you split screen when they can sell you two games to play head to head? 😉

F1 2020 - Wishlist/ideas/hopes/suggestions for the future F1 Game(s)
franky03 replied to Mobcat94's topic in General Discussion
Hello all, Assumptions are really bad: Ive been playing F1 2014 on my ps3 for the last 5 years. Finally decided to upgrade to ps4. Bought a copy of F1 2017, great game, BUT no split screen mode (1st assumption) (I play most of the time in this mode with my kid) Thought to myself, no problem, I'll keep playing f1 2014 for this (2nd assumption)... but just found out the ps4 is not backward compatible Arggghhhh! Feel kinda dumb and annoyed at both Sony and Codemasters. Seems the only way I'll be playing split screen with kid is if F1 2020 sees the return of this beloved multiplayer mode. Can I get +1 from everyone who agrees please? Thanks in advance oh mighty forum! A disappointed dad -
nah, the fanbase for the kart game itself is pretty huge - they remade a game from 1999, right? - the game currently has 700k active players with an internet connection on PS4 alone and this is all over their reddit so they are ballot stuffing. it's very good, plus you can play 4-player split screen. I think the NFS fans just haven't noticed there's a poll yet it's really weird that they added WRC 8 after the poll already started. there's still not even a description of the game on the page! I guess it's a write-in?

Lots of people have big screen tvs these days so it makes even more sense to bring back classic split screen racing. Good idea!

I would like the split screen to return so I can play with my brother or father

GRID - Mode/Feature/Content Suggestions

The funny part is they will release split screen in dlc later on instead to include it from the start. Another proof that this game was rushed out. And please do not quote me anymore ... -

must have missed that, remembered this article where it says different -https://gamingbolt.com/grid-interview-weather-track-online-offerings-and-more "A post release mode that we’re happy to announce today is split screen mode coming after release for everyone. Again, you have to buy the DLC." -
GRID - Mode/Feature/Content Suggestions

when will we get back to local multiplayer / split screen mode in racing games? the last one was F1 2014 and grid 2, both for ps3 I don't see anyone talking about ... Is there any future dlc that will add this mode? It was fun to compete with friends on the living room couch. -
GRID - Mode/Feature/Content Suggestions

Here are other suggestions I'd like to chime in (for PC: 1. Fix the rain effects. Sometimes it looks like rain is falling in batches. That's not how rain works. 2. Introduce an option to have races be extended. 3. Chase camera height and distance from car should be adjustable. 4. Using assists and difficulty should come with a reward system. 5. Bring back split screen on PC. It was a great feature in Autosport. 6. Hot-lapping should have more than 1 lap, just like in Autosport. That made the game more challenging. 7. Have in-race objectives like in Autosport. 8. More tracks please (Hockenheim, Mazda, Suzuka, Nurburg ring, etc) 9. Polish the ultra HD texture-packs. The game just looks like a DLC of Autosport. So outdated. 10. Introduce Rally Cross (If Dirt 4 and Rally can have it I see no reason not to have it here) 11. More indurance races (can you please just make it a whole category of events?) 12. Ghosts in Free-play with a test-drive mode. 13. Introduce test-drive mode in the quick-tune menu -
I finally received the game, playing it on standard PS4. My impressions after 2-3 hours of play: PROS - On my plain vanilla PS4, the graphics are way better than DR2. Maybe it's different on other platforms but on my machine, DR2 often looked blurry. - The ambiance is very addictive, things like roadside crowd noise, helicopter above, etc. Better immersion generally. - It's a more complete game altogether: training, split screen play, a proper career mode (though I have barely had time to look at it so far) - The weather effects are great CONS - I still have not been able to find the great driving feel of DR2. It's not bad to any degree, but it's different, and generally I have preferred DR2 so far. - I find that the cars tend to fly off much easier than in DR2 when you start touching the side of the track (is that what some call the "Apollo effect"?). Kind of annoying. - The better graphics come at the price of lower framerate. I found it bothering for the first 15 minutes, not anymore. STILL TO BE DECIDED - Difficulty: it's a more inviting game for beginners, if only because of the training tracks. But so far I haven't found it easier than DR2, though maybe that's because I haven't properly set my T300 yet. - Probably a lot more... What is certain is that I do not find it obviously worse (or better) than DR. I'd say that WRC 8 is a great thing for rally games: competition will push CM to do craft an even better DR3, and maybe get them to fix the annoyances of DR2 faster (hello crazy AI times in some classes...)

My bet is split screen multiplayer

Ok dudes that's great news, i thought that there were tracks among the 3 seasons of dlc also i did not about split screen, not that interested but its cool to be there..
-
More good news: SOURCE All post launch tracks are FREE. At launch, there may look like there is only twelve, but there are 92 variants (of the twelve tracks). and all can be in rain, night, or day 69 is the number of cars in this game, and we only know 12 of them. Therefore, we need to keep an eye on the Codemasters Blog for more info. Split screen is coming post launch, for FREE. And there are ZERO Micro transactions.

No Online Championship on F1 2019
audacious replied to FartingTurtle37's topic in General Discussion
First time i have been back on Forums since 2015 Game crash got released Not trying to be funny here but am amazed people still pre-order F1 games from codemasters knowing they will be in for some nasty surprises But have to admit, split screen co-op championship was the best part of these games. -
So let me get this straight, we've gone from having split screen co-op championship (which was awesome!), to online co-op championships (which were flawed but at least gave us the ability to play this mode), to online 'private' leagues only. What part of co-op =/ (does not equal) league do codemasters not understand? When you want to play with a friend at your own pace, you're pretty much screwed now!
-
Does anyone know of a f1 game that has split screen co-op career
-
I’ve got a bit of a problem, I downloaded DiRT 3 because my brother wanted to play split screen and now I can’t stop totally uploading clips to YouTube :( In other news, I’m excited to see what video(s) we are going to get this coming week!
-
sigh... I miss split screen games...

Even leaving out engine limitations etc, you can't have your cake and eat it. Longer stages will take a toll on the system. More detail will take a toll on the system. (Split screen requires rendering it all twice) More advanced physics will take a toll on the system. Etc.
-
You're talking about on stage multiplayer? Yeah, you'd get shorter and/or less detailed stages and something that's not Rally - remember this is supposed to be hardcore stage rally. Both, online and solo. Do you mean some graphic engine limitation or something like that? I suppose that the engine after 10 years should have improved as to allow longer stages and better physics. I'm just saying its a pity. It has also happened with the split screen function, present in dirt 3.
-
So, without having more details and without any mention of the team for months, becoming deaf for dirt 4 claims, now they pretend to pre-purchase your game? LOL, sure...take my money!!! LOL. People lose their memory very quickly. Here some questions, waiting at least a reply from someone from codemaster team. If you put a price you have to talk about what are you buying ;) -We will have multiplayer rally mode with staggered starts like Dirt2/3? -What about Hillclimbs? -Split screen mode?- Dlc tracks are new locations or only tracks? -Dlc tracks/cars for rally or rallycross?-What about your stage?-VR?-Track length?

Monday it is, then ::smiley: Lol/groan ::smiley: Thanks for ruining the fun! Someone mentioned Split screen or multiplayer a while back, which would be great, but I doubt will happen, unless they really overhauled the engine since DR can't handle more than 1 car at a time.

Woah, woah, woah, local split screen? In 2018? In a racing sim? Best racing game of the century. To be real though, local split screen is awesome, it really needs to come back. It looks good, as long as the physics aren't horrible like the Crew it really seems like something you can explore in and do at your own pace while still having a goal, unlike the Crew... Still a bit concerned it could just be a very large very open world with not much to see though, but it's cool that you can tow out your teammates that get stuck.
