    Welcome to the new GRID

More good news: SOURCE All post launch tracks are FREE. At launch, there may look like there is only twelve, but there are 92 variants (of the twelve tracks). and all can be in rain, night, or day 69 is the number of cars in this game, and we only know 12 of them. Therefore, we need to keep an eye on the Codemasters Blog for more info. Split screen is coming post launch, for FREE. And there are ZERO Micro transactions.

No Online Championship on F1 2019

First time i have been back on Forums since 2015 Game crash got released Not trying to be funny here but am amazed people still pre-order F1 games from codemasters knowing they will be in for some nasty surprises But have to admit, split screen co-op championship was the best part of these games.

No Online Championship on F1 2019

So let me get this straight, we've gone from having split screen co-op championship (which was awesome!), to online co-op championships (which were flawed but at least gave us the ability to play this mode), to online 'private' leagues only. What part of co-op =/ (does not equal) league do codemasters not understand? When you want to play with a friend at your own pace, you're pretty much screwed now!

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

Woah, woah, woah, local split screen? In 2018? In a racing sim? Best racing game of the century. To be real though, local split screen is awesome, it really needs to come back. It looks good, as long as the physics aren't horrible like the Crew it really seems like something you can explore in and do at your own pace while still having a goal, unlike the Crew... Still a bit concerned it could just be a very large very open world with not much to see though, but it's cool that you can tow out your teammates that get stuck.

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

But again, NONE of the games as they currently sit look anything like a competent "new" product. Sim racing is extremely disinteresting if you think about how it has almost actually gotten worse since GT2 10 years ago. I love racing, but I struggle to pull out my wheel and set up to play because everything is so lifeless, sterile, and boring, and no one asks for change. AC FINALLY made a big deal about how their AI finally works after years of telling people to just deal with it and rabid fanboys attacking any one. Every time there's been a major eSports sim racing event it's been awful. I don't care about it, but I also don't care about real sports, but when every event has just lost money and made a mockery of itself it's not a good business practice. Not to mention that making games for eSports (Like GT Sport) starts to heavily push towards always online only, with little to no career or meaningful progression. And in GT Sports case, some cars just dominate period. It just doesn't work in sim racing. That would be cool. I REALLY miss split screen and hate that it's gone the way of the dinosaurs. I kind of want to see if I get a side by side split screen game and set it up as dual monitor if I can just have each person have their own monitor... That'd be really cool. if i look at what you saying you dont look like the person who wants to be involved in esports or watch it. so will even the perfect racing rally game make you interested ? esports is rapidly growing at a ferocious speed.you may not think so it is ! in a few years it will be stable tv and a lot more common with big tournements.the thing is many or some are not thinking " future " .. the thing is you have to be in early anything new or you last. thats why companies are pushing it and putting money in. esports racing has only grown so i dont get what you are saying to be honest.you may struggle to play racing rally games that doesnt mean others do.look at the bigger picture. the F1 2017 event was massive.you may not like it im not a F1 person either but ..it wasnt awful it attracted massive media.it was live on sky sports.it made advances that hadnt previously been done.so the event gained rather than lost.the thing is you may lose money to gain in a area for later to be succesful ! as i said previously to be in the driving seat of anything you have to push you have to risk things you have to spend money. if you want to be a factor in anything to come. esports is mainly about teams vs teams or people vs people. its not about playing a campaign.why would it be ? its about the skill of the people competing of the sport they are taking part.not finishing a single player game.their needs to be excitement of challenger vs challenger. its not perfect yet but that takes time to perfect the showing of these events.its new it will take time effort and money. also understanding of what works and doesnt work. esports maybe not tick your box but it will for many others for the community and thats the point to look at the bigger picture.esports racing / rallying is going to be big.very big.people just either have no vision or just do see it yet. I guess I don't know anything about the F1 event. Maybe it went well, but that would make it THE first to ever not be a colossal **** show and waste resources. iRacing is BUILT around competition and every "major" race they have has had connection issues, pitiful views and the chat gets turned off EVERY TIME. There was a Vegas eSports event, which took place in a poor mod of... rFactor I believe... in which people voted for their "favorite" driver to give him a boost, which ended up being abused, the winner was a cheater, and they had to revoke his stupid trophy to give to second place, not to mention all the same aforementioned issues. It has NOTHING to do with my ability to play a **** game. People just don't care about the real sport, let alone the grown ass men acting like children and maxing out 3 credit cards to build a Domino's racing rig with custom fire suit to play in his moms basement. Let's look at fighting game competitions, there's obviously a lot of drama and **** talk before the game actually starts, but at the end of the day, when the match starts it's more interesting than virtual race cars, and people only watch it to make fun of nerds cry because they lost. That's it. I will agree though, I have zero interest in eSports, so what? I can't talk about dumb it is and how it pushes even further away from giving us what we actually want? LOL! I beg to differ: lots of people have been asking for change for years but are often met with defensive dismissals like "quit whining, stop being so entitled, don't be so impatient, nothing is perfect, can't please everybody, grow up, it's just a game, why are you such a hater, don't you have anything better to do with your life besides complaining, I'm sick of all the toxic negativity, I'd like to see you make a better game, go play something else if you don't like it," etc. Quite a lot of people prefer to unconditionally defend games instead of advocate for progress, which has helped usher in this new era of 'lifeless, sterile, & boring' recycled games. Hence what I said about rabid fanboys. They don't ask for change, they just accept and defend mediocrity. Anyone who does gets ousted then just stops caring because it just doesn't matter that much. i get its not for you as said previously i dont think even set up right you would probably watch it or be involved with it. as for credit cards and getting high end rigs sitting in moms basement. i use for eg a £50 wheel.thats it.you dont need super duper rigs to be fast.all expensive rigs get you is realism and mostly slower.most of the fastest people use cheap wheels.so nothing what you saying is relating to anything of truth.you have your opinion though. as for the tile system of Dirt 4 if it could be truly infinite then yes it could be ideal but it isnt.so i would take real life tracks done well over generated until the system can be perfected.even then im not sure if i would pick a generated track over a perfect sweet lamb . the tracks need soul they need to have the right bends fast bits. a computer doesnt feel that. man does ! computer could generate what it thinks is great but be dull and boring. true it maybe unpredictable but if its not truly fun or exciting people wont enjoy it. But happens, has happened, will happen, and the idiots keep urging people like that along. NO ONE maxes out 3 credit cards to play DOTA or LOL or rocket league or whatever. I mean, those guys are nerds and everyone expects it, but the sim racing guys all actually man children. Hey, if you get into a eSports league or whatever with your $50 wheel, then that's awesome, I'll root for you. Maybe you'll be the only normal ish person there. Until then, sim racing is chock full of grown ass men in diapers.

    Co-op in Autosport

Hi Codemasters,   Was just wondering if Co-op only consisted of split screen or can you race with your friends on Steam over the internet with in the same team or is it against one another? Regards Lee

    GRID Autosport Feedback

This is my feedback on Grid Autosport; [ G27, GFGT, i7 4770 nvidia 760, realistic settings no TC, framerate well above 60 ] + Thank you for adding split screen mode! This was a significant factor in my decision to purchase the game, the game runs well in split screen with 2 players and adds a great level of enjoyment locally, would enjoy more if speaker output were biased for each player to enable distinction of rpm for manual shifting + Game sounds, excellent game sounds, distinct tire sounds to evaluate loss of traction, good peripheral track sounds, good engine sounds and differences between cars + Graphics amazing job at optimization, achieving well over 60 fps split screen locally on High gfx settings, fluid game play adds so much to immersion over low framerates I have played few games that render so much graphical output at such high frame rate + Wheel feedback, excellent feedback for G27 on default settings in game and in windows Logitech profiler; = Very heavy wheel is excellent counter for its typically sloppy center - best feedback I have felt in a game as most make the wheel light which accentuates this wheels weakness = Great loss of traction sensation in RWD, great wheel forces enable me to drive to edge of traction in corners, I think this is helped by the heavy default wheel forces compared to other games, = Great force feedback effects, rumbles and bumps etc, lots of extra detail really add to immersion, please continue with excellent ffb support in future + Great single player career mode, great selection of sponsors, love the sponsor objectives and re playability + Excellent attention to graphical detail on tracks periphery, variations in people, grass, railings, texture of kerbs, track surface texturing etc. These really enhance the sensation of speed in the game which is so poorly conveyed through a pc monitor, greatly helps with braking in time, the point to point races are excellent at conveying speed via the graphical detailing. + Graphical detail excellent in general, small details add to immersion, news crews, crowd variations, clouds, hot air balloons, helicopters, well rendered stands, my preference is frame rate versus detail in general, but the graphical detail in this game and the eye catching focal points are very handy in enhancing sense of speed as opposed to repetition of generic crowd or tree models in other games, I considered the sky box textures and air borne "traffic" a little over kill at first but it enhances overall sense of movement in a 3d environment which is imo a great weakness of racing games [ games as opposed to reality] + Car selection very good, car details very good + Good brake light visibility on rear of cars to aid in braking, though could be better visually - I have seen P-C do this better with some sort of glow effect + Collisions between cars have consequences which I like, damage textures very good, damage modelling seems simple but is a decent detrimental factor to make me brake and avoid collisions + Cars each feel different, good conveyance through handling of weight of car and RWD FWD AWD, open wheels versus regular cars convey many differences, handling for each car has good level of differences in feel + Love the feel of oversteer and understeer in different cars especially with TC off, like the requirement for careful throttle control in many high power RWD cars + Handling differences between track and street and especially cobbles in Paris etc. are very noticeable + Very much like the handling in general, very solid, good feedback, good variation across groups and cars, very real and lively with both wheels + Some of the DLC groups such as Touring legends give a very good selection of cars in a very exciting category and add a lot within their own merits + Point to Point races are excellent addition DLC, narrow road races accentuate speed coupled with good track side discrete graphical fidelity, very nice addition to track races Lots of things I like in GA, I will move onto things I do not like so much; - Menus dark ambience in general gives negative environmental vibe dampening enthusiasm - Choosing car types from numerous sub groups in split screen mode is difficult without external reference as to which cars are in which group - Some of the DLC are not so well done, would of liked to see DLC that add a lot to the game on their own, such as an exciting balanced car group plus unique tracks, which I felt the touring legends pack added but others not so much, for example a car group with a track group that is tailored to them and stands out from the base tracks, I felt the point to point races are a good example of difference and variety. For example a street car group with street tracks, or a selection of cars from one era with tracks thematically oriented around that era that offer great difference to default. - Lack of wet tracks and weather - Lack of pitstops and endurance racing seems to have had little love - Needs more racing varieties And finally things that I think have been done poorly; - Online racing integration, I can't find online players to race with though not so much of a problem as I can race at home with friends, the lobby system looks like something from the 1990's this is a great game that should of retained players for a much longer time through an immersive online system, I heard their were lots of cheaters after release that scared players away. - General integration of online elements through menu interactions from first boot up are very poor, plays as an offline game with online elements through some back door system, would of liked to see something much more integrated and modern - For example official support, races, servers 24/7, in game ui showing of online players and what is happening in online world from the moment of log on, an online experience from the moment a player logs in, official scoreboards and ratings and leagues, stringent anti cheating measures and steam banning etc excellent matchmaking and careful management of competitive groups to keep shrinking player bases from seeing empty servers etc. - Needs much greater integration of online aspects into game through every aspect for the modern world, would retain players for a much longer time - Rapid release of DLC in mini packs? Needs to stop, staggered release of "service packs" of DLC that offer much greater features over a period of time would hold players longer, ie. SP1 6 months after release etc. something to hold players longer and bring them back en masse, and give game greater lifetime support - Grid 2 and Grid autosport release at similar time, the very concept of a single developer releasing 2 similar genre games in a few months of each other is absurd, I looked at the steam charts at the moment and I see; Project Cars 1300 online players Assetto Corsa 700 Players Grid Autosport 500 Players Grid 2 300 Players I cannot believe that that the split off player base of grid 2 cannot handle the better realism of Grid autosport and would not of purchased it if the resources of Grid 2 were pooled into a 1 game release of a better grid autosport - with a much better high vis release and online integration, the splitting of the player base, development resources and marketing focus by making 2 very similar games rather than 1 seems stupid to me, I am sure elements of a simcade game can be tailored for new players such as easy default assists, street tracks, single player careers with un lockable cars (if that is what is needed to attract the casual masses?) and many other game factors, so long as their is a sim heavy model at its heart that can be gradually exposed as players become better. ************ Finishes my feedback! hope it is of some help, GA is a great game that I feel could of nabbed all the steam driving player base if it was released in a better fashion. I hope that for the next release the produces have much greater ambitions, their aim should be to make the only racing game worth talking about!

Even leaving out engine limitations etc, you can't have your cake and eat it. Longer stages will take a toll on the system. More detail will take a toll on the system.  (Split screen requires rendering it all twice) More advanced physics will take a toll on the system. Etc.

You're talking about on stage multiplayer?  Yeah, you'd get shorter and/or less detailed stages and something that's not Rally - remember this is supposed to be hardcore stage rally. Both, online and solo. Do you mean some graphic engine limitation or something like that? I suppose that the engine after 10 years should have improved as to allow longer stages and better physics. I'm just saying its a pity. It has also happened with the split screen function, present in dirt 3.

So, without having more details and without any mention of the team for months, becoming deaf for dirt 4 claims, now they pretend to pre-purchase your game? LOL, sure...take my money!!! LOL. People lose their memory very quickly. Here some questions, waiting at least a reply from someone from codemaster team. If you put a price you have to talk about what are you buying ;) -We will have multiplayer rally mode with staggered starts like Dirt2/3? -What about Hillclimbs? -Split screen mode?- Dlc tracks are new locations or only tracks? -Dlc tracks/cars for rally or rallycross?-What about your stage?-VR?-Track length?

Monday it is, then ::smiley: Lol/groan ::smiley: Thanks for ruining the fun! Someone mentioned Split screen or multiplayer a while back, which would be great, but I doubt will happen, unless they really overhauled the engine since DR can't handle more than 1 car at a time.

Hmm, let's see, split-screen?  Only useful for head-to-head stuff, so, WRX, comparatively small part of the game, also pretty foundational to the engine, i'm calling no as including it in DR at this point would be a massive overhaul. Co-op rally?  This was suggested by people who would want to read out notes, cool sub game, *incredibly* niché and highly unlikely.  Paul dose have, has shown some written out notes, i'm not sure how much interested was vocalised about wanting them, and i don' t know where that went, certainly a very low priority, i think i remember him saying he was doing it in his own time. Co-op also has similar foundational issues as split screen, so also going to rule this out based on #somethingapproved  being added to Dirt Rally.

    DiRT Rally feedback list

Hello, here is my list for improvements. - Navigator commenting with finnish language - Chance to make smaller rooms (for example six) - Raise player maximum amount to 12 (6 vs 6 in rally cross) - Possibility to get both money and experience from wins and other placements in online after final results - Chance to drive rally-cross tracks opposite way - More tracks :) - Offline hotseat and split screen - Add 4vs4 "Cat and mouse" -event from Dirt 3! It was very fun! Many thanks if any of these is possible to make!
