    F1® 2020 | First Gameplay Trailer

Biggest takeaway for me so far after watching some of the gameplay videos. Aarava mentioned that there is an option for a rear view mirror! Thank you Codemasters 🙏. As someone that predominantly plays in cockpit cam that feature alone makes me grin from ear to ear. Curious to see it in action. For me if they’ve managed to get the game engine to handle split screen multiplayer then surely a mirror option couldn’t have been an impossibility. Many thanks
  2. DIRT 5. It’s time to Let Loose. As revealed during Microsoft’s Inside Xbox show, Codemasters is delighted to announce DIRT 5, launching from October 2020 on Xbox Series X, PlayStation® 5, Windows PC (via Steam) and the current generation of Xbox and PlayStation consoles. A Google Stadia version will be released in early 2021. Whilst respecting the heritage and retaining the DNA of the franchise, DIRT 5 writes a new chapter in the legacy of DIRT – bolder and braver than ever before. Check out the official announce trailer, soundtracked by the superb ‘Time to Dance (Sebastian Remix)’ by The Shoes: DIRT 5 is more than relentless rallying, more than suspension-shaking jumps, more than hairpins and handbrakes. Join an energised world of off-road racing, and be part of a vibe that delivers big on epic action, pure expression, and unbridled style. Now, time for some juicy info… Bursting with modes, ways to play, and concepts never before seen in the series, DIRT 5 is an overload of amplified entertainment. Dive into the ambitious Career mode, which lets you choose your path to glory as you progress through an immersive journey. The narrative features a voice cast led by the legendary Troy Baker and Nolan North, partnered by the car culture heroes at Donut Media and more famous names from the automotive world. Make your unique mark and overcome all obstacles to ensure nobody ever forgets your name. Play together in Career and offline modes with split-screen for up to four players, making DIRT 5 the ultimate playground for you to throw down, trade paint and get really sideways with your friends, either online or on the couch. Looking for a fresh way to be playful on four wheels? Take the fun to a global scene, with traditional race events and innovative modes that’ll have you hooning for miles and grinning from ear to ear. But that’s far from all it when it comes to ways to play DIRT 5. Look out for the reveal of a new mode later this year – something you have never seen before from the DIRT franchise. Travel the world to conquer over 70 routes from locations spanning the entire globe, that turn real landmarks into racetracks – from the frozen East River in New York, to the marble mines of Italy, to the Favelas of Brazil. Defy dynamic weather conditions, intimidating terrain and unpredictable elements in eight different race types, covering gravel, snow, mud, ice and more surfaces in between. Your ride of choice? Choose from a ferocious car roster that includes machines purpose-built for off-road dominance – and a few you’ll be less used to seeing off the beaten track. Our first trailer gives you a first glimpse at what you’ll take the wheel of, from extreme machines like the Ariel Nomad, to racing icons like the Lancia Stratos and modern off-road masters like the Citroen C3 R5. Oh, and each car will be visually customisable through DIRT 5’s nuanced livery editor, with more editing options than any previous DIRT game. Once you’re done designing, snap your greatest moments with a dedicated Photo Mode, capturing ever jump, scrape and slide. It’s all set in that amplified off-road world, dripping in style and giving license for you to express yourself, on and off the track. With a backdrop of infectious atmosphere and an unforgettable soundtrack, everything you do in DIRT 5 adds to the vibe. So, what will you bring to the table? Launching on the new generation of consoles, as well as current-gen, DIRT 5 makes use of the groundbreaking technology coming to console gaming. With Xbox Series X, experience heightened graphical fidelity in a hyperreal world, optimised performance no matter the mode, and unparalleled load-times for constant action. With Xbox Smart Delivery, if you purchase the Xbox One version of DIRT 5, you’ll receive the best version of it to your Xbox One, as usual. Then, if you decide to jump into the next generation with Xbox Series X, you will automatically receive the Xbox Series X optimized version of at no additional cost. Be the focus. Be recognised. Dirt 5 will be amazing!

ah, you haven't seen this (otherwise pretty uninteresting) interview yet, have you? skip to 0:45 seconds in. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFw752sJEhI he makes it clear that different seasons offer different places to race in NYC, and I think it's safe to say that this will mean different event types too, (you can't race on ice year round) and will apply to other (if not all) locations: Norway (it looks like Lofoten, which is very far north) is pretty different from summer to winter, so it's worth showing, and the one shot in the trailer where they showed different seasons seemed to be in China. the bottom line is that there's 70 routes, which roughly lines up with what Dirt 3 had (including the Japan & Monte Carlo DLC). 70 routes have to go somewhere. they're not going to have 10 locations each with 7 different routes in one discipline. that is a terrible way to design a game, and is completely contrary to how Dirt 2 and 3 were set up - not a good start for a game that's trying to emulate their atmosphere and success. uh, they announced the game 3 days ago, on Thursday. Friday was a holiday, and Saturday and Sunday are what we call the weekend. or, as they say in france, le weekend. they've already put out a roadmap for all the announcements (lol @ that. how ridiculous.) so they already have a plan for when we find everything out. so we're going to have to wait. so for disciplines, here are some safe guesses + things we know: Sprint car racing (announced) Ice racing (announced) RX (obviously. and getting the Amplified edition gives you a free VW Beetle RX) Rally (obviously. also C3 R5 and Escort Cosworth are announced) Buggies (announced) my predictions (not super likely, but possible imo): something team-based. D2 and 3 had team-based things, and the game is supposed to enable 4 player split screen in career mode. Raid? (you get a Ford F150 for preordering. however, it could be a landrush car, or something else) Trailblazer? (2 RGT cars from DR2 were in the trailer) Landrush (same as Raid)

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games

yeah, looks like it won't have any official connection to the World RX Championship if there's only 10 locations. Dirt 4's was more than solid imo personally, I'm most excited to be able to play 4 player split screen (in career?!). it's going to have stage rallies. chill. why would they alienate the core fanbase of the series? they haven't shown anything about it because when you introduce a new game, you first want to show off what is new and interesting about it. stage rallies being in Dirt games is like parkour and Assassin's Creed: pretty much guaranteed (Showdown excepted, and look how well that did).

    F1® 2020 | Spain Hotlap

Glad to see that Turn 5 / 7 / 8 / 9 and Sector 3 have been changed to the better, compared to last year. Turn 11 is still way too steep and offcamber, compared to real life. Many Kerbs are still missing either a sausage Kerb or the triangle white zig zag lines on the green parts of the Kerbs (mostly exit Kerbs). Overall, a good step forward, but there's still room for improvement. @BarryBL, i got 5 questions to Codemasters: 1.) Was Turn 9 of Spain taken flatout in this video, at around a speed of 260+kmh, as in real life? (In reality, every single team, even Williams, was able to take Turn 3 and Turn 9 flatout during the Winter Testing of 2020, whilst Turn 9 was taken at speeds around of 256kmh - 271kmh) 2.) Are the cars now grippy and aerodynamiclly strong enough, to take fast corners in a stable manner? (In reality, all teams were planted in the fast corners, to the point that it looked completely effortless) 3.) Was this the Renault Engine Sound Bundle of the 2020 game? (I really like the new TV Audio Option with the split audio channels, 1 for the standard engine sound and 1 for the exhaust) 4.) I did not see Estrella Galicia on the McLaren. Will it be included on the livery anytime soon? (Singha, a beer company, has been in F1 2019 on the Alfa Romeo. So why is Estrella Galicia not in the game?) 5.) Will you add the Fuel Mix, Brake Bias and Differential to the ingame steering wheel screen anytime soon? (This would improve Cockpit Driving by a huge amount and would give players a more realistic and immersive experience, especially if we also get the option to fully turn off the MFD)

    help f1 2020 split-screen

according to you they will keep the same as in F1 2014 in regards to the split screen. in theory they should keep everything then I don't know why they are the same producers of the game then they decide in the end. this was my idea
  9. FabioCamperi92

    help f1 2020 split-screen

I said this because it would challenge a friend in split screen and see who is the best. And that's why I asked if you can be in different teams. Then if my team can also be my friend, I'm fine with it anyway. I hope both can be done
  10. FabioCamperi92

    help f1 2020 split-screen

Hopefully they keep everything as it was in F1 2014. They should add if one wants the damage or not. Like me if I want to take away the damage and my friend instead wants to keep it. In the online if you took away the damage, it also applied to your friend. You turned them off for everyone. About the AI: it would not make sense to remove them because this means making split screen worse. Being that they put it back, they have to improve it and not take away from the things it had before

Feedback and ideas for F1 2020

These were the hottest requested items for the game by a survey done of over 100 people on my friends list and league. Hope they can be put into the game as they are pretty straightforward things to an extent and not extravagant Online championship mode back (it was removed from last years game) Ability to save full length replays offline and offline (even Pcars2 has this ability) LAN mode for consoles (a major requested one by friends instead of split screen) Ability to set cars to 'EQUAL' in offline races Ability to use our own driver in Single offline Grand Prix mode Hockenheim and Sepang as bonus 'classic' tracks. The current map models from f1 2019 Hockenheim and F1 2017 game Sepang would work in new game Winter Testing session before seasons starts Wear on track over race weekend and during 25% races or longer

    help f1 2020 split-screen

Absolutely and rightfully so too. Split screen, local or remote, coop championship, again local or remote, would be a killer feature both for casuals and serious racers. It would breathe new life into the game and give a major esport boost in interest. After all there is a huge demand and supply of non racing online squad based games. If this could be injected into league play too somehow it would be GAME ON big time. To be able to select first of all your teammate, get synced up then select a league or gp race to join would be fantastic imo.

    help f1 2020 split-screen

You can bet this is something they will have decided upon internally. The idea to have a split screen mode was a resurrection of somthing they discontinued possibly because of the missed shipping of next-gen. However, they may have decided to offer it in the same vein as the F1 2013 implementation. That had AI or no AI. IDK what it was like in F1 2014, hardly played it other than straight MP. You can bet people will want this as Championship mode also.

in f1 2014 i know there was a split-screen and during the race there were the other runners used by the ia. I think that in f1 2020 they keep it is because doing only 1vs1 would not make sense. I prefer that there are all the runners used by the ia counting me and my friend too

I'd be surprised if they don't have an option for a 1v1 race. That's the main point of split screen. 🙂

    Codemasters sim or Arcade?

Why is split screen and being another team on the F1 career grid a problem? I do not understand...

    Codemasters sim or Arcade?

Split screen, simplified off-road surfaces, 11th team, steering help. What.A.Joke. Please please sell the F1 license, Codemasters is creating an enhanced Mario Kart version.
  19. Hello all, Assumptions are really bad: Ive been playing F1 2014 on my ps3 for the last 5 years. Finally decided to upgrade to ps4. Bought a copy of F1 2017, great game, BUT no split screen mode (1st assumption) (I play most of the time in this mode with my kid) Thought to myself, no problem, I'll keep playing f1 2014 for this (2nd assumption)... but just found out the ps4 is not backward compatible Arggghhhh! Feel kinda dumb and annoyed at both Sony and Codemasters. Seems the only way I'll be playing split screen with kid is if F1 2020 sees the return of this beloved multiplayer mode. Can I get +1 from everyone who agrees please? Thanks in advance oh mighty forum! A disappointed dad

    F1 2020 BETA - Process Closed

Informations for people who are applying for the first time: It's not a full game, single player mode is only a few circuits (7 circuits max) Multiplayer, its unranked lobbies. (I don't do multiplayer so if someone can add info, it be great) And finally, split screen, so far no info on that, but we can guess that it's going to be the same as single player: a few circuits.

    F1 2020 BETA - Process Closed

So, if i'm right @BarryBL by "2" you mean on the one hand the choice of the game (2019/2020) and on the other hand the gamemode (Singleplay / Multiplayer / Split Screen) right? So it is only possible to test one of these gamemodes? If i remember right for the 2018 BETA i checked both (singleplayer / multiplayer) and still got accepted to the BETA. 🤔
  22. zon1bzh

Yes you can sign up for both as well as split screen 🙂

    F1® 2020 | Announce Trailer

I didn't compare GRID to F1 games. I tried to say that GRID 2019 was supposed to have split screen support, so we don't know who actually developed the feature 🙂
  24. JackLane82

    F1® 2020 | Announce Trailer

Before the release F1 2020 is already a joke. "Added split screen" --> ***? What is this? Mario Kart? And be the 11th team? Really? All for the money1 Right Codemasters? No F1 2020 for me. What a joke...
  25. So I got a notification on my phone from the F1 app saying "Be the grid's 11th team with the new F1® 2020..." and I stopped studying, read the whole thing and came here. People didn't really expect much from the game this year, some even believed there would be no game because of so many races postponed because of the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak. The ones who believed in a 2020 title expected it to be just a remake from last year's game with just new liveries, tracks and driver changes, so that Codies could focus more on the new 2021 regulations (which were postponed too though). Welp, I guess we were wrong! Our beloved Career Mode is now casual player -friendly with the shorter season options. And YES, we FINALLY get a MY TEAM MODE! (woop in the chat for that) They haven't announced more than this, but I can imagine the 22 cars on the grid, two cars with your own custom liveries. I don't know where they will get the two extra drivers. Will we finally see other F2 drivers get promoted in the future seasons when playing those My Team and Career modes? The game creating it's own future talents who replace the drivers who have left F2? F1 driver retirements? F3? How much there will be a difference between Career Mode and My Team? Will we see Lukas Weber and Devon Butler again or will there be completely new characters? I hope the problems of F1 2019 have been fixed, such as AI wet traction, AI bad defending skill, (V)SC deployment. Also you can play two player split-screen on your consoles! Lewis Hamilton might claim the seventh world championship and tie up with Michael Schumacher, so you can buy a Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition that includes four of the most iconic cars the German legend has driven. On 10th of July, I surely will be one of the first people at our local GameStop buying this game. For the trailer, go https://youtu.be/sd96C67i8aE
