What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

Hello . Id like to see  warm up lap online Online replay save system tyre pressure settings  Safety car more often  split screen for watching more than one group of cars online be handy for league stewards  Why not have a steward poistion in custom online lobbys with a few opitions like give warning give drive tru  call safety car basic stuff but have it that a whole lobby votes for steward and that its a opition that only a host can turn on weather a steward position will be part of lobby .
  2. I DIDNT PLAY GRID autosport  so im suggesting based on that i played GRID 1 and GRID 2 Bring back all drift type of events from GRID 1  ( freestyle drift..battledrift.....)Bring back 24hours lemans add togglable ON/OFF pitstops for ciruit races especially Formula racesbring back that amazing handling from GRID 1 flashback not rewind make it instant flashback like the one in GRID 1try and add ultra low graphic options to support gamers with old grahic cards and also support DX 9 / DX 10 / DX 11try and slip a cockpit view ( i know its very unlikely that you will do it cause mirrors may take processing power.. but with ultra low options maybe its possible?add more street tracks for street fansEbay sell and buy from GRID 1team management  street vehicles costumization .. spoilers , Neon, flame stickers that make the car go faster :stuck_out_tongue:  ( available OFFLINE TOO )Split screen and Lan  and add a mode so your partner from Lan or split screen can play on your team in Campaign as in co opmenu track sellection features a thumbnail with a picture from the track and the route line ... so people can choose easilyYOU REPLACED F1... DRIFT GAMES....STREET NEED FOR SPEED GAMES WITH GRID TITLE .... add more tracks (like figure 8 )and like 3 more cars under DEMOLITION DERBY and with your crash physics ... YOU JUST REPLACED FLATOUT 2possible nitro feature for street or tuned?Rally event ( kinda like checkpoint ) Thanks for reading.... any members who work at codemasters may reply and tell me your toughts .... cheers

What would be NEW in F1 2014???

If co-op is in F1 2014 I'd like to know if it will be available in split-screen & lan in addition to online, or if CM will still do the least logical thing and make it online only.

A lot of questions.... Here are the answers

I am curious to know what the interface of F1 2015 will entale, think this is very important to the game, seem's as if though they have already taken a leaf out of Fifa with the in season updates which is good. I hope we will see the return of rival's mode where you can race your team-mate or another driver from another team with a friend on split-screen and online. The other mode I missed from I think it is f1 2010 where you had the hot lap shoot-out where you take it in turn's to set fast lap's and slowest one round get's eliminated. I am sure Codemaster's have lot's of fresh new and innovative idea's which I am looking forward to seeing.
  5. I understand your comment but the point is the F1 Gaming Community were very active and provided  a LOT of feedback to CM to apply patches. I remember from one thread someone mentioned that the "All Equal" mode was broken. CM initially denied it. Then a massive influx of posters responded with videos, times, evidence until CM were forced to acknowledge it. And what was our reward? Removing all the evidence. Removing all our hard work without acknowledgement. Conveniently removing the primary method in which people complained and raised bugs for month after month, hoping people would just forget about it.  You mention split screen in your comment so I'll assume you're a console gamer. Did you ever participate in online leagues? A lot of us did and bugs that did not make cars equal and higher FPS for quicker lap times made it pointless because it was not fair. Most of the glaring bugs affected PC players more. Play on Xbox and PC. I can imagine the FPS issue won't effect the console gamers, due to everyone having the same hardware and frame rates being locked, and whilst I did play a lot of multiplayer on my 360, I've not raced online on my PC. Did both these issues get patched for the PC?

  7. No actually, I'm hoping all the same issues do emerge, really looking forward to it, 10/10 /sarcasm No one wants bugs. And closing the forums has nothing to do with the quality of F1 2013. You pay for F1 2013, you get F1 2013, you're not paying for the forums. If you want to talk about issues of F1 2013 then do, but if the most frustrating part is something that isn't to do with the game it seems you don't have a lot to complain about. I've put in a couple hundred of hours on F1 2013, playing a load of split screen with friends, and the only bugs I experienced were The A.I getting unsafe release in the pits and driving underneath me and overtaking me in the pits, which was actually quite funny to witness but I think that got patched. The A.I sometimes running the same compound of tires for the entire race and not getting a penalty, and sometimes the game freaking out and giving me unlimited flashbacks which I'm not complaining about. I see a lot of people moaning about "hurr durr codemasters moar like bugmasters" but I've owned all the F1 games and I've never experienced any game breaking bugs or glitches

    Second Screen Discussion

Anyone else using this wonderful feature of Grid Autosport yet have some great suggestions on improvements?  Please help me build this thread. -General Fixes/patchable things-Offline When racing in a season with a teammate the mini-map on the 2ndScr is entirely too hard to read out where you are in reference to the current track.  Same with finding your teammate.  Suggest Enlarging the mini map, making Players car clearly discernable from other racers. It seems as this next issue is with lap and split times on second screen.  I feel they are not always appearing.  I completely utilize the multiple camera angles while racing ( i use either in car w/steering wheel seen or nothing but pavement.   It would be nice to set the second screen up as rear view mirrors.  Just watched the movie Need for Speed.  And cameras replacing RV mirrors and displaying the image on the windshield-_DOPPE! Online Same issue as offline.  Inablility to see race position.  It'd be nice if there was a noticeable difference between player Tags that were your friends or in the same clubs.  Maybe color determination.  Something that stands out a bit more.
  9. I am really loving this mode, but cant understand why there is no practice/qualifying in custom cup split screen. Would it be too much trouble to have it with another update? Maybe as DLC?

    GRID Autosport Feedback

Why the Subaru wrx-sti got the right headlight how can i say, it looks open while the left one is normal? And i noticed that also in grid 2 was the same you see what's that?Anyway I must report on xbox 360 that when i watch a replay sometimes for one second i see an horizontal line a bit higher than the middle of the screen like a little split of the screen and for the entire screen and it's very annoying!
  11. This is fun, but is there any way I can change the name from 'Player 2' in split screen? I will be spending quite a bit of time racing with mates and this would be a handy feature.

    Co-op in Autosport

Hi Codemasters,   Was just wondering if Co-op only consisted of split screen or can you race with your friends on Steam over the internet with in the same team or is it against one another? Regards Lee

    Split screen

As excited as i was with the split screen option in combination with the dual monitor support i must say im pretty dissapointed that there are no options to really split my screen. Why can't i play, local, against a friend with each a monitor to look at instead of having to split one monitor while the other monitor is being used for position displays only. Pls tell me im missing something

What Happened to 3D Vision ? Why is it broken ?

Oh ok ... but I am talking about Nvidia 3D Vision 2 so using that with a dedicated 3D LCD Monitor such as the Asus or BenQ you do not lose any resolution whatsoever.   I believe you may mean the Refresh rate gets split so 100hz becomes 50hz per eye and that hs more to do with how a TV handles 3D as they are produced with watching movies as the number one priority. I could be wrong but I have never heard of resolution getting split in half ... resolution is the number of pixels on the screen so if an image was split in half resolution wise it would appear very large and blocky and look awful.

    North American User Review Thread

I love it.. I'm not that fast with the wheel yet, but so far I've run two career races and I'm having a blast. I got the feel that I want CSR Fanatec wheel with pedals and its fun to drive so far. I like that there is a feature to make the races longer. Which really makes it worth getting a wheel for. I ran my Career races up to x5 which means the first two races were 20 and 25 laps. Plenty of time to pass. Right now the AI is on medium but they put up  quite a fight. I may reduce the laps a little and leave the AI where they are at or Increase the AI and leave the laps in there. There is also a split screen so you can have fun with other family members. Good Job Codies. And I was able to Change the configuration of buttons on my wheel. Edit: I love also that you can get 10:00 worth of practice in before you race on a track with a car you've never driven. Gives you plenty of time to learn gear selections and braking zones.

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

I'm sure codemasters are working on ways to make this game a simulation as much as possible. But my main wish is that they bring back full championships in two player split screen. Me and my brother love competing against each other and it would be fantastic if we had whole race weekends racing each other (with AI). Championships were in 2012 or 2011 edition so it would be great if they put this feature back in the game.

    A Review for the X360

Handling? Check. This thing appears to be legit and just may explode once it's released. For those of us who can't spend $1500 on a new PC or next gen console, what you guys at CM have done, from admitting your screw ups to working your tail off is beyond outstanding. As an IndyCar and Touring fan, this almost makes me want to cry. Thank you. _______________________________________________ TheXboxHub said: GRID: Autosport will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC next week and we managed to grab a hands-on preview of a near-on final build over at the distributor, Namco Bandai’s offices. So are we looking at a return to form for the GRID franchise or will petrol-heads be left wanting more? I’m pleased to say that initial reactions are good. Very good in fact. The preview version we had time with was pretty much what we’ll be seeing when Autosport hits the world next week (You’re looking at a 24th June release in North America and a 27th June release elsewhere), although as is usually the case, a couple of key features were locked down; in this instance the online and split screen modes. Yes, split screen is back and so you’ll be able to hit the tarmac with your mates from the comfort of your own living room, throwing banter back and forth as you tear each other up round some of the numerous circuits. With 22 tracks supplying over 100 variations in all, there’s going to be some decent time spent in the latest GRID racer. Anyone who has had previous experience with either the superb GRID 1 or GRID 2 will be right at home with the vast majority of circuits. You’ll be visiting the likes of Brands Hatch, Hockenheim and Indianapolis as well as taking in the sights and sounds of some of the worlds most iconic cities; Washington, San Francisco and Barcelona among others. Each have been replicated superbly well, with only some poor crowd images a letdown (remember this isn’t next gen stuff), but take to one of the streets in a night race and you’ll be witnessing fireworks and camera flashes going off around you as you race. The inclusion of the night races alongside the daytime stuff really brings something new and exciting to GRID and it’s a joy to behold. But of course, the tracks and surrounding areas are only as good as the racing on the track and Autosport seems to excel here too. With five disciplines; Tuner, Endurance, Open-Wheel, Street and Touring all available from the get go, there is plenty to keep you busy. We’ve detailed each of the disciplines in previous posts so if you would like to know more on each one, hit the links and get engrossed. I did have a slight niggling feeling in the back of my mind that there wouldn’t be enough variety between the disciplines, both in terms of handling and excitement, but I’m pleased to say that couldn’t be further from the truth. Hit the Open Wheel class and you’ll find a car that responds to your every move, gripping the corners and begging to be blasted down the straights, but take a turn in a tuned drifter and you’ll find the exact opposite. I’m not normally a fan of drifting events, normally preferring the full on races but I can see me spending a fair bit of time flinging the odd Nissan or three around in competition. The racing for all disciplines seems tight and aggressive and with five difficulty levels, plenty of scope for tuning each vehicle (brake bias, diffs, suspensions and the like), you certainly aren’t going to get bored for a long time. You can of course, leave all the tuning and upgrades for another time if you so wish and this should happily cater for both experienced and new racers alike, with the numerous camera options (including a cockpit view) also helping both types of driver. And with tight, aggressive racing comes a fair old whack of bumping and grinding. We all know that ‘rubbin is racin’ and Codies have seemingly taken this to heart. The damage models found on the cars looked excellent, with minor rubs being picked up well and full head on crashes totaling your car. Those who decide to take the ‘rough’ approach to the latest GRID title will be left cursing as their steering fails, brakes stop working and top-end speeds are diminished. However, let’s just hope that the online options give any host the ability to play with simulated damage off…..else things could get very messy! With a career mode that spans all five disciplines and covers many races, the single player guys out there will be more than happy with the depth of things. The sponsor objectives that are a well loved part of the Grid series are back but this time are much less intrusive. They now sit there just waiting to pop when you hit a certain speed, complete a race without collisions or perhaps beat your teammate. Career XP is generated across the board and whilst it will most definitely reward the driver who takes in a bit of each discipline, if you wish, you can just focus solely on one race craft and still get an awful lot out of the game. Alongside the career, the ‘custom cup’ option gives you the go ahead to play the game exactly how you wish. Choose your track, choose your setting, choose your car and then go race or hit the time attack scene. I’m guessing this is where the usual RaceNet leaderboards and features will really come to prominence once the world gets racing. An intriguing final option that was greyed out was that of a DLC store. We know that GRID: Autosport will be coming with a standard and a Black edition and perhaps the store is there just so the extras from the Black edition can be picked up at a later date…..but does it mean Codemasters have got an extra circuit or two up their sleeves? Extra cars would also be a great addition. Overall, I was very impressed with the preview of Autosport and can’t wait to see the full game hit home next week. The racing is hard, fast and ultimately rewarding, with fans of the original GRID having absolutely nothing to worry about. GRID feels like it’s gone back to it’s roots and that’s a good thing! Now……Anyone wanna race?!?

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS

For me I have to reiterate with EffOne's posted. GPx series was the best F1 series there's every been due to its how immersive it was. You could adapt the game to how you wanted to play, and that's not even going into how you could mod it. I do understand though that you can't give players the option to change driver names, team names etc due to licensing.  I can't see what stopping the hot seat mode GPx used to have though, that was great to have as a feature and I don't think anyone else has every done it. If it could be done in 1995 surely it could be done now with the advance in technology and hardware power. It would be a great feature for those wanting to casually play the game with friends as an alternative to split-screen.  Another thing that GPx had (more from the modding community admittedly) was better timing info whilst out on track. For example a run down of the full order and time gaps every few laps or so like you get on the TV. That would be good as well.

    Grid Autosport Review

My 1st 15 hours with Grid Autosport. How did I get access to this you ask? Here's the shortish version.I'd just upgraded and sent my old parts to a friend who is currently out of work in Greece. Hi Miatakias :D He NEEDED to upgrade and no-one I knew wanted the bits. So off they went.He fitted them but after he installed his current GFX card drivers he got blank screen. Nothing we tried fixed it nor did any suggestions from these forums or others. Then I stumbled on an official 5 month old thread on their site saying a fix is still weeks away.Having 2 AMD 6970's on the go and a pair of replacements planned, I decided to send him one of my 6970's as well. For me it meant playing half speed for a while but at least I COULD play. Loore had sent me a message and asked me about Miatakias' problem, I told him the above story and that the GFX card was going soon. Miatakias was over the moon with the parts when we got them running and asked if I was going to buy GAS? if so he wanted to buy it for me as thank you for the parts I'd sent. I contacted Loore later to let him know all was now ok with the PC and how Miatakias reacted, I got this back."Loore May 10Tell him not to buy your copy, I've got it covered :) Consider it a reward for helping make the GRID community a better place."Cool, a freebe for bein a nice guy and helping someone out :) To my surprise, when Loore contacted me again. He supplied me with a passcode for the game plus the access to the press preview levels and cars we've seen in vids. Stroll on!All hush, hush till now so here goes...A week with Grid Autosport. 16 hours played and tested as I write this and upload some eyefinity vids. 1st off. The big one... The handling, Is it any good? Did they listen to all the whining we did? Ooooohhh yes, it's good, VERY good, and yes again, they did listen to us fans of old and acted on it (or most of it so far?).FINALLY! After years of waiting, we get a trueblooded, direct descendant of Grids epic gameplay. Grippy cars on tarmac that you need to DRIVE to succeed. Slide any race car about like you had to in Grid 2 and you'll fail at the first corner. Driving Autosport right on the limits of speed vs grip round Istanbul Park intermediate and the old grey matter started fizzing again, those Grid ingrained responses to what I was seeing on screen and feeling through the wheel took over and the Grin was back. The assists are of the same style as Grid 1, where turning them off made every car soo much harder to control leading to slower lap times. Paradoxically though turning off the assists in GAS lead to the opposite, better times than I got when they were on. I might have been fighting with the stability control instead of letting it do its job here.Precise throttle control is critical for success but you reap the rewards for such restraint. so analogue controllers or wheels will do well, no idea regarding KB as I never had much in the way of KB skills to start with. Bear in mind this is press preview and not full release. Only 4GBs it's just the core game elements I'm playing with. I'm playing on this lot.  AMD 9590 @5GHz, Asus Sabretooth Rev 2, 16GB DDR3 @2133MHz, Sapphire 8GB R9 290X all running 3 screens @ 5932x1080 maxxed out GFX, AA, AF settings etc with 50 fps as a minimum. Using my old and trusted DFGT wheel for the tricky bits. So Here's some vids of the basic career modes, Most are in eyefinity taken using fraps and saved using windows live movie maker.  1st up, Touring cars Istanbul Park Intermediate. The racing is just as much fun as the original Grid was for me. trading paint with a bit of shoulder barging here and there, got slapped by the corner cut system, so that works. The "x5 race" option made for same fun racing over 15 or 20 laps but be warned, In 1 event  I lead from pole and no contact with the AI cars, I lost 5th gear all the rest were fine this made the last 2 laps  somewhat interesting. http://youtu.be/_XcgMprvQYg Street Racing, Washington in the Mini Cooper S Works Trying to get the "lift off" corners just right was soo much fun. as was trying to get clean passes. I DID manage a complete race with no contact in this class but it was hard to get, you'll see why.... http://youtu.be/2P4_-BDfidU Drift Tuner, An essential for myself and a few others around here. Ruined in Grid 2 with tea tray on ice handling, Drift's back to the circuits (or 1 at least in the preview) Tracks are split into "Score sectors" so no multilap chains of drifts scaring off all but the pro's.Precise control inputs are a must here if you want to look like a pro You can still hoon it like a BOSS with style and get points, I'm off for some much needed practice....;D  http://youtu.be/HgFNrsVQjNA Open Wheel, Yas Marina (and dodgy cockpit view) Slipstreaming is back just a shame the cockpit view looks like it's "unfinished" or an "afterthought"  at best and so it's of no practical use to the headcam, hud off players. The mirrors are like impresionist black and white paintings of the skyline behind you. Like a tiny wee policeman pops up wherever you look saying "Nothing to see here, move along..." This has to be unfinished or the Modders got some work to do again....Again though, it's only the press preview surely it'll be better for launch day http://youtu.be/bg79ms19tGo Endurance, be careful, this category bites.... No pit stops. Tyre wear in Grid? HUH? Well much as I wouldn't have missed it, it does add a big tactical element to your driving. In an 8 minute race grip dissapears like an ice cube in a volcano, I kid you not.1st try, I shot off into the blue, by the end of a lap I shredded 20% in less than 1:30 and had none for the end. You really neeed to nurse the tyres as on the 2nd try I used only 6% in one lap and still won the race albeit with 30 and 32% left of the rear tyres. Pit stops would help here but it's about tyre management instead of outright speed. http://youtu.be/mn1sr0ca4HI As I said above it's the core of the game here and no where near complete, though with the way it handles, looks and plays right now I would be buying a copy without a shadow of a doubt. Ferreted about in the mp section and found a few gems when looking at tracks,You might wanna add to the confirmed track list RallyDriven :) http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/289/grid-autosport-confirmed-cars-tracks-features/p1Autodromo Do AlgarveIndianapolisOkutamaHong KongRed Bull RingAutosport Raceway Barcelonaaaaaand SPAAAA!!! No other tracks/locations listed and no cars as a load is still locked in career mode or limited by it being in essence an abridged and unfinished version.  If I find out there's more to it between now and launch I'll keep you posted while I work on some more vids.

What you want to see from GRID

Thta's all I meant. What are we gonna get from that? The 40min endurance race I think is now forgotten and I'm happy for the argument to be buried. All in peace obviously. I think we all want the same thing, we just have different ways of trying to get it and for my part it makes more sense to sit down at the table and talk rather than continually throwing rocks at the window. Loore is our first and best connection so we need to exploit this asset. He has put his credibility on the line so it is only fair for us to give him the benefit of the doubt and our "conversation" with him is worth the most when it comes to having our requests realized. Back in Grid 1 we went around and around the maypole with the endurance race, ending with no-one having any idea how it would work to get the majority involved. In the midnight club I ran we tried 25 and 30 lappers but the majority dropped out with just me and Nomad going the distance. So far we have concentrated effort for touring cars, we have correct driving physics, we have TT to get that much needed practice of the tracks and competitions between our friends, we have improved drift, and we have cockpit (of sorts). This can get us going. What we would now like is; spectate, streaming chat, clearly defined cockpit and mirrors. After that can come the nitty gritty bits mentioned like coutdown timers etc. Amongst all of this I'm assuming we will get lap times and lap leaderboards like in Grid 1, if not, they have to be added to the priority list. . . we need clearly defined personal lap times at the end of each race, just like in Grid 1, and not on the screen for a split second like in Grid 2. Quite often the one who made the fastest lap isn't the winner and knowing your time means you can work out where it went wrong and so correct it. We all know that there will be a backlash once the game is out and we see exactly what is missing . . .because, for sure, the game is likely to be a bit too bare bones for some. . . anyone like a biscuit with their tea ? ~O)
  25. It's a 12 car grid in split-screen :)
