When I am in spectator mode, I would like to have a graphic for the amount of time penalties that every driver has. As a league commentator and for viewers, there is no quick overview which driver has accumulated how many penalties, only for the short amount of time it is displayed at the bottom of the screen. And I dont want to scroll through every player in the race director to count how many penalty seconds he might has.

[PS4 1.12] AI not smart enough in the garage

Hi there, the problem is the following: in the last races of my career I'm always starting far ahead in the grid than I achieved in qualifying because (too) many AI cars got penalized in the garage. Some examples: R19 Austin - qualified 15th, started 11th R20 Mexico - qualified 7th, started 4th R21 Interlagos - qualified 17th, started 13th This looks a bit unrealistic as they probably could be smarter in their garage. For example when I realized I couldn't complete the season without any change (even if only for 1 piece) and after a bad qualifying in R17 Sochi (15th) I decided to change all the pieces, got something like 60-70 grid penalties and just started 20th once. While the AI is probably changing one piece each time and got penalized so many races... You don't even have to go wide, you basically touch a kerb in sector 3 and you get a looooong 'corner cut' penalty. It's silly and doesn't reflect F1 at all, as usal Codemasters are creating problems that weren't an issue to begin with. In Suzuka or France if you run wide onto the grass/run off area you spin out or go to 30mph in a split second, if they want to stop people going of track why can't they do the same thing instead of the lazy corner cut penalty which lasts until the finish line? At least spinning is somewhat realistic. When was the last time a F1 driver got an engine cut penalty for going wide?

Since a month ago I keep having issues with the games instant replay and flashback functions. The issue went away after some time but it came up again with the new 1.12 update. It's happening to me in all gamemodes with the following specs: Ryzen 1500x Radeon rx590 16 GB ram @2400mhz Thrustmaster T300 Ferrari integral racing wheel Alcantara edition I also have a 2nd party manufacturers Xbox one controller hooked up for navigating the menus. Graphics settings in the appendix. All drivers have been completely reinstalled with the newest iterations and I tried reinstalling the game twice now. The issue keeps happening after replicating after well over 75 times. What happens is I try to flashback, or exit the instant replay by going back to the pause menu, and my whole pc crashes. Noise does keep playing (although no engine sounds, just sound FX from the menu closing) I get a black screen and my monitors automatically power off because they're no longer getting signal. Pc is still on and has to be forcibly shut down using the power button. Therefor, no crash reports are made because the game doesn't actually crash the .exe, just freezes the whole pc. After restarting I can start the game up and play without issue up until I use instant flashback again. Just to be clear, I can use the instant replay itself. It is when I exit the instant replay, either by doing a flashback or going back to the pause menu, that my screens go to black. What is the problem here, any advice? I'd like to play the game because I have my autumn break now and have enough time to do so, but for now I can't play this game which is a shame since I paid alot of money for it...

When using the replay feature, like when trying to perform a flashback, the rewind and fast-forward functions do not work from the wheel. These are mapped to menu control "right trigger" / "left trigger" which work in every other menu except for the replay. Additionally, changing cameras which would normally be "navigate left" / "navigate right" do not work. The features simply don't engage when the button are pressed. This error appears to only be in F1 2020 as I've tried the same hardware in F1 2019 and these functions work fine. Platform PC What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.12 but bug has been present since launch Game-mode? Any mode with replay/flashback: Time Trial, MyTeam, etc. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? Yes, the problem is consistent. How do you make the problem happen? While driving, hit pause and go into replay or hit the Flashback button. While in replay try to change the camera angle, fast-forward, or rewind. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue I have tried mapping the triggers to different buttons. I have tried using different wheels, different cables, different usb ports. I have also tried replicating the issue in F1 2019 (which works fine, F1 2019 is not affected by this bug). What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Simucube2 Ultimate. As I mentioned in the post below, I'm one of a small number of ("some") users who've requested that custom drivers be given stats. However, I'll completely understand a negative answer, as the others should, becuase of the work required on the driver creation screen, as detailed herein. I propose the edition of a "driver experience" tab with the subsections below to the driver creation suite. 1. First GP 2. Permanent or replacement driver (number of subsequent GPs, if replacement) 3. Team (allowing cusotm input) 4. Initial contract length ("indefinite" only for first member of custom team) 5. MyTeam facilities show the incorrect number of finished upgrades

Can you make the problem happen again? How do you make the problem happen: The cars qualify according to the previous f1 2019 performance if qualifying is not enabled. HOWEVER, if qualifying is enabled and I actually do the qualifying(not predicted if it was turned off), the cars qualify according to the actual performance patch which was added in 1.12. This can be seen with ferrari cars qualifying 1st-6th if qualifying was not enabled but 7th-13th IF IT WAS. I think it is the same glitch in f1 2019 where in career mode the cars would not qualify to the actual performance but to the performance(actual in real life performance) at the start of the season. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue : Ive tried to restart and try Grand prix mode many times to see if it was an one off issue( it is not). Lobby completely buggy after driver crash before the formation lap

Hello. I'm hosting a community championship on PC. On Tuesday We always did the race (50%). Yesterday "**** happens". While the drivers were selecting setup and strategy, one crashed. This bugged the lobby. During the formation lap he rejoined the session, but obviously had the wrong setup and strategy. At the start, the lights remained stationary and did not start the start procedure. The driver left voluntarily, and from here the race finally starts, but leaving the bot on the grid. But his bot, which started in the top 10, was first in the race with a fastest lap in Bahrain of 18 seconds. This generated inconvenience to others such as non-existent blue flags (and penalties). I was actually aware, and I knew the lobby needed to be recreated. But in the same way, I shouldn't be putting a "patch" on what happens in game. A detailed description of the issue: read above. Wired Ethernet 100 MegaBit The amount of players in your session? 20+2 spects Were you the host? Nope. Did this issue happens for everyone in the session, just some people or just yourself? What did they see? Some people - non-existent blue flags, driver that crash in P1, etc. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? Probably before you press the "ready" button on the grid, close the game from Windows. Is it the same of a crash for your server? How do you make the problem happen? Recreating the lobby. But, as an IT technician, that's not a solution. It's a work around. Can you add a report code. How to find this is in Main Menu > Game Options > Settings > 16 digit code in the bottom left of the screen. Please make sure that this is the code from the session you had the issue in. Had to delete/reinstall. Bonus feature is I get brakes anywhere I touch the screen, no accelerator! This is going to definitely make winning duals a bit harder.

Hey @BarryBL ! It's been a while. I hope you and the team are healthy and well. On the weekend my friend and I tried again to start a league. Steps we took: 1. My friend open a league session and I couldn't even connect to the Lobby. "Connecting to ... 100%" -> nothing happens. 2. After that I opened the session instead and let my friend connect. Worked after a computer restart on his side. 3. As soon as we both managed to join the lobby screen. I started the session and both of us managed to connect and join in game right away. 4. We played the 30 min practice session and didn't experience any lag or desync. 5. Unfortunately at the end of the session we both got the error that the results of the session couldn't be saved. We when didn't try any further, because we would have to play the practice session again... This was on version 1.10 We will try again with the newest version next weekend. Ok, I've edited the MyTeam power unit performance files for Ferrari, Honda and Renault. Mercedes didn't need to be edited, the lines for power unit were identical with the AI. Only lines associated with the power unit (i.e. engine power, fuel) have been copied over from the AI files (for Honda, I took the lines from the Red Bull file - there were slight differences between Red Bull and Alpha Tauri and I wanted the Honda file to have the fullest potential). In all 3 cases before editing, the user's MyTeam engine was more powerful than AI powered by the same power unit brand. They should now be equal. Please note that these edits will have no change upon the engine purchase screen or R&D ranking screens. Assuming that it's allowed, I shall be uploading these files to Racedepartment for anyone who wants a more realistic experience. If this isn't allowed, someone from Codemasters will have to let me know and I shall remove them immediately. I'll let you guys know when it's been uploaded.

Dear Codemasters, After having a glitch a few weeks ago at Silverstone, which forced me to use the fuel assist ON, this week again a glitch on the USA weekly. 1. Description of the issue: the game failes to report my qualy time of the weekly challenge. I have gone through the practice sessions and set a qualy time 1.30.89x which puts me on pole but the time is not reported in the ranking and the overall screen of the event does not let me see the time recorded. 2. Version; 1.12 3. Game mode; Weekly challenge online 4. Recreate the issue; No, qualy time does not counts and I can restart the qualy but than have to take a penalty for it ... 5. How often; I have had more issues as stated at the intro. Last time on Silverstone I could not set a proper time as it forced me to use fuel assist which is useless and influences' my lap time negatively 6. Troobleshooting; tried restarting, fresh console start, reinstalled the game last week due to game crashes 7. Accessories; Thrustmaster tmx leather edition, F1 (thrustmaster open wheel add on) steer, Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals 8. Screenshots; see below (dont get it why the pictures are upsidedown) ... Please fix these issues as it prevents me to enjoy the game!

Description of the issue: Sometimes, it happens that when players leave the lobby during a race, the next race their AI is still there, although they players is already out of the lobby. The Gamertags stay in the lobby (a bit greyed out) and block the cockpits for other real players. Game version: 1.12 Platform: Xbox One Replication: For most players, when they leave, they disappear, but every race there are like 1-2 players who are still shown. Replication method: Race, have 5 players leave the lobby during the race and see if they are still shown in the lobby for the next race. Game mode: Unranked It affects all players in the lobby, as their AIs are still racing the next races, event though the player is out. Screenshots: Here we have 1 screenshot showing, how many people have left the lobby (during the race result screen at Brazil) and 2 screenshots showing how many of these greyed out players are still in the lobby. -

The date is December 1st and when I try to advance, the clock symbol rotates around endlessly, but nothing else happens.My second driver was going to retire so I went to the driver market to sign a new driver and I only have the following options: watch, help, sort, compare, return to overview. 2. I would like to revise something I pointed out earlier - the gap between a newly created Ferrari-powered MyTeam team (with no media influence on power during the starter interview) and the other Ferrari powered teams appears to be caused by the minor packages that the game gives you at the start of the game: I have since restarted my Honda-powered save and the same-sized gap is present between my team and Red Bull / Alpha Tauri, again complete with minor packages and no media influence. I'd like to apologise for my previous error, I'd only started playing MyTeam mode over the weekend and hadn't noticed these minor packages and the boost they give to your power unit ranking. This wasn't helped by the pre-release statement saying that MyTeam power units "stats and prices" would be unaffected. I took this to mean user engine performance would remain at pre-patch levels while AI would be correctly downgraded, which would result in a disparity between the user and AI, causing the user to have things a bit too easy in comparison to the AI, and the last thing I want is to have a game that's too easy. This also wasn't helped by us having to guess rather than have someone clarify the statement, although I understand it was during the weekend when this all happened so there wasn't really an opportunity. What this does mean, though, is without those minor packages, the engine power between user and AI should be equal and that the menu when you purchase a power unit is more of a cosmetic issue / the amount of money you pay. As far as that goes, my guess is you would still pay more for Ferrari anyway, purely because it's a Ferrari. It doesn't matter how bad it is, the prestige of being associated with them and their history overtakes that. Having said that, do the AI teams receive these minor packages too? I'm guessing these are given to the user at the beginning as a sort of kickstart? And I can see there's a couple left to receive during the season. Assuming this is all correct, I'm guessing there isn't a disparity between user and AI after all. 👍 Again, apologies. tl;dr MyTeam user Ferrari power unit performance is actually equal with AI and therefore correct. Misunderstood something and I apologise profusely for the confusion. Only thing that hasn't been updated is the power unit purchase screen (which is what Codies meant when they said "stats and prices", not performance), nothing deeper than that. Purely cosmetic / how much the power units cost. Everything's fine. Panic over. Nothing to see here. Move along.

A Multiplayer issue where users leaving and re-joining sessions can cause game performance issues for players racing in that session. This is an easy issue to re-create by just having a couple of people in the lobby (racing) and having someone joining and leaving the lobby, they don't even have to load into the session just join the lobby itself. This makes it super annoying especially as people just join lobbies from the unranked list and cause a screen freeze for all drivers see the race is already underway and then leave and repeat until they find a lobby/session that isn't already underway. -

When attempting an F2 Race Weekend the lack of "front wing change only" ruins the gameplay because the game changes your tyres to a used set when pitting in the sprint or uses your sprint race set of primes in the feature on a second stop. Street circuits like Monaco (this example), Baku and Singapore are more examples because of the likelyhood of contact with the barriers. Hanoi could also be the same and maybe Russia but they're a bit more like part circuits. Go as fast as you can and push hard at a street circuit. How do you make the problem happen? Make an additional pitstop in either race and be given another tyre. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue You can't without the option to have a nose cone only pitstop. IRL the team would change only the wing. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) Not relevant as it's gameplay. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. I could show you the wear on the used set fitted when I pitted in the sprint on Saturday but I think it's clear to understand.

Psychology of Rally - questions and a video

Well, I can safely say that one thing I hadn't expected to come out of DR would be a rally video with film-noir style narration. Can almost see the driver step out of the car at stage-end wearing a fedora, then leaning casually against the mud-spattered vehicle and lighting up a Camel... Great stuff! 😀 On using a controller: I'm exclusively a controller player, and must say a few things in its defense: You can most definitely enjoy this game thoroughly, and post decent times, with a controller. In fact, in many ways it's a lot easier than a wheel set-up. You can left-foot brake and micro-handbrake with ease, for example. I use a custom-built controller by an outfit called 'Battle Beavers controllers' and it has domed rubberised sticks, and best of all, extra stiffness which makes the steering control much more precise. I've never looked back and have no desire to get a wheel set-up. But then for me personally, even with a simulation, gaming is all about kicking back on my sofa with my TV screen. DR2.0 has the greatest controller handling in a driving game ever, imho. As for setbacks and struggle with stages, some things I'd suggest: - One thing to remember is that there are varying degrees of surface degradation. The same stage might be a joy where you find the car is a point-and-shoot machine and super nimble, then another time the same car and stage feels like a cross between a boat and golf-buggy. So it's OK if you find a stage is suddenly much harder and you need to brake a lot more. It's not necessarily you that's the problem. - For me, it's all about braking. Be sure to use your shake-downs to set up your braking so you get just enough turn-in without it tipping over into oversteer. Same with the other settings actually. But as you start, apply the brake early and often. Then as you get more confident you can see how much less brake you can get away with. But the key is to take it cautious and actually just finish the stage. Doing that and then getting faster over time, is way way way better an approach than trying to go fast and failing the stage and re-starting constantly or hoping to eventually just 'nail it'. I'm not sure if stages intentionally have 'bosses' - it may be designed somewhat that way. But I think that it might also just be that towards the end of a stage there is that 'choking' fear that grows, and this distracts the mind. Fear is the mind-killer and all that. You have to actively suppress yourself from a wandering mind thinking about real life and all its issues when rallying. Which is good for both you and for your stage result! -
WRONG FORCE FEEDBACK ON LOGITECH G29 IN F1 2020 (PROBLEM IDENTIFIED)

Not as bad in high speed and medium speed corners. Very noticeable at hairpin in Abu Dhabi for example. Even with the wheel cranked at all the way to the left or right at corners, I fail to make the corners without running wide. Have also noticed that my brakes do not slow me down as fast as they should.
