I've noted something on the setup screen. The toe setting uses in and out beside the actual slider but in the description negative and positive. I'm not saying it's factually wrong, but it's more confusing than it needs to be. Imo the description should use in and out rather than negative and positive. Just a thought @KickUp :)

Nothing special is planned. Usually we have GFX companies that help us implement new tech but no deals have been struck so if it happens it will need to come later. Didn't Nvidia recenterly come out with a new triple screen thing along with Ansel and it's fancy sound reverb thing? I guess my monitors are at a pretty mild angle so it doesn't really bother me, but still a bit disappointing.

@KickUp SlapTrain breifly showed a bit of the sponsor offers screen. Can you describe what "Sponsor Relationship" and "Offer Quality" affect?

I requested the live-setup during Dirtfish at the playtest in November, so happy that its made it in! The setup screen looks so much better now than in DR and the livery creator is brilliant, fantastic job guys and girls. I agree about Slaptrain, I used to think he was loud and obnoxious but watching him more, he is a very humble and genuine guy who just likes to have fun. I don't watch him loads but every now and then one of his videos pops up. -
What's the deal with stacked quotes having tons of line breaks in them? It's been happening a lot recently. On-topic: I'm really happy to finally see on-screen footage! I'm liking the looks of the livery editor, I was worried it would be a bit limited with preset patterns but it looks like you can play around with the colors and finishes quite a lot, so that makes me feel better. The DirtFish area is way bigger than I expected! Now I want to replicate the Roadkill episode where they rip around DirtFish in the General Mayhem. '68 Charger DLC pls! :p

A variety of driving and some really nice menu footage, some of which I hadnt seen. Like a quick look at the service park and some scrolling of car info page, which all looks gorgeous! Looks like a nice setup on a really big screen, but be warned the video music is awful and the guy driving is pretty bad ;) Still worth a look, just for those snazy af menus :p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NvWXaJYQkiM

@KickUp @urgaffel Have you fixed the bug in the Fiesta R5 where the windscreen wipers think the bottom of the sunshade is the top of the screen? :) It looks pretty funny in the PS Access vid :D
-
Wow, didn't Kickup said a few pages back - we don't want screen footage at this stage of development (Alpha build)? @KickUp what is your timeline for a closed beta (if there is)? P.S. The car setup interface looks clear and educative. Awesome.

You can't just edit a file to show something in a different camera mode. The weather effects are built into the environment, not the camera angles. On a screen, the most realistic FOV and view personally is the dashcam. I dont see how you can get more immersion from a camera which mimics your head strapped to the front grill. -

Will Dirt 4 have a motion blur strength setting? In Dirt Rally it is a bit strong, but I'd like to not complete deactivate it, because youtube would get compression problems then. But I'd like to have it toned down to half or quarter the strength. Related to cockpit camera - Maybe I get more used to it, if I would have a VR device with headtracking - but without it is too much vision loss to me, especially for me its much more immersion to see more from the road surface and landscape, than seeing 75% of the screen = car interior. Is it maybe possible to edit some file somehow, so that I can see weather effects happening on bumper camera? That would be nice. And pls try to improve the engine to support longer tracks.. -

1) but at the moment there is not just less water coming up - there is no water coming up at all. And rain weather no raindrops splashing on the screen making the view even better. 2) Yes of course! And I'm fine with it! But removing weather effects and water effects on other cameras is an immersion killer and makes it unnecessary easier and is a difficulty and immersion removal I just dont want. Dirt is the first game so far I encountered this problem. Other games, even other codemasters games, dont do this.. I dont see why dirt must have this. Its even more unfair for you guys driving with cockpit. We get help from the game I dont want to have. And there I also wonder why it doesnt meet your opinion, if I actually wish removed the unnecessary side of advantages from the other cameras. I mean it would be more fair for you cockpit drivers too if other cameras dont have these unnecessary advantages anymore. -

I dont know how deep the water actually is, but I would expect water flying up also from the impact with the front of the car. I cant imagine that the bumper stays perfectly dry after such a situation. anyway - it should show at least some of the effect. But having absolutely nothing going on is lame. no raindrops by rain on screen at other cameras is lame too - even f1 hasnt it like this. -
Then why don't you actually look at how and why water gets on your screen. We will answer what we can, but your belief in physics from another dimension will only complicate matters.

You'll only see opponents that are ahead of you in the running order stopped on stage. Nice one, thanks! That's huge in making this a realistic feature for me. Will there be any way to see your opponents' cars' liveries in any screen (I don't mean on stage)? So I know if the car I'm passing is the guy/girl ahead of me in the championship and I can back off. As always, I appreciate you answering our questions so candidly; I promise that's my last question for this week! You won't really recognise the livery unless you have raced for that team yourself.

I use front bumper cam and I literally see nothing from water drivethroughs at all. Even no water splashing up. Just nothing. As if I drove over asphalt. On a damnit frontbumper camera! Its the opposite - I'm driving frontbumper and find it unfair and a lost immersion (an unnecessary lost immersion) that I see no effect from water, while cockpitdriver dont see anything for a second. I'm not a more casual player - I just prefer the frontbumper view - and thats still a big difference to chase cam where you can see due to its camera height into every next corner. So I think it would be better if frontbumber camera would give at least half of the cockpit bonus rather than being treated the same like the chase cam. The water could go away from alone. We dont need to mount wipers on the bumper. It could fade automatically after some time period similar to wiper away. Same could be even done for the chase cam. The cameras on f1 2016 get raindrops on the screen even on chase cam. Why not? this way the only difference to cockpit is the physical ones like vision to the sides and so on and not such unnecessary punishment to cockpit drivers and unnecessary removed immersion for drivers who prefer an other camera. I find it harsh to say i'm a casual when i prefer to drive frontbumper. A casual wouldnt care that watersplash is missing and an advantage for him. I do care, because its unfair next to the lost immersion - even if its just the 2 situations at wales. -

But its the least important factor in any racing game, ever. Plus, think about it, cameras don't have wipers or any cleaning mechanism (in rally at least), so any water on screen would blind the player for two (decisive) seconds. -

We are aiming to have Ghost cars available but it will be for racing other people's times. Will there be PVP rally with ghost cars? There will be PvP Rally but we aren't showing ghost cars. This is very interesting, how does this work ? Do you play head to head against another player (players?) online in a live contest? If so, guess that means you just see an update of thier time after the finish of the stage. Would'nt it be better if you could race their ghost live! Or is this not possible for some reason? Imagine its like it was in Dirt 3 when staggered starts are disabled. Everyone starts at the same time and you have the stage progression with arrows for players on the side of the screen. At least thats how it was when I tried it Thanks @SirPhilMcKraken I think get you, although I never really played Dirt 3 much. So you played this feature in D4 in testing or demo recently? It was the testing back in November, I haven't played or seen it since then so I don't know if its been changed but it was good the way it was imo -

Dirt 3 on DVD, now on Surface

I couldn't use my key to unlock. I purchased it anyway. However, having major problems. I can start it, but when I try and use 1024 x 768 mode, it jumps to a tine square in the middle of the screen - it doesn't scale up. Tried a lot of solutions, including projecting to a second screen when I reduced my Surface Pro res to 1024 x 768. Still didn't work. Going nuts. -
I've had a few bugs here and there, getting stuck on a loading screen was about the worst of it so far. But I've put 27 hours into it since Thursday evening, and fuck whatever the reviewers think, I absolutely love Andromeda.

Sadly not. The dials used in the interior are modelled based on the research photography. As a result they can't change like the on screen display version.
