I run a racing league and we have to look at incidents in races like this all the time. It's clear that this is a classic example of the 'lag bubble'. So on Matt's screen he was hit off, but on the other person's screen, he didn't hit you. In this situation we would say that even though he didn't really hit him, he should wait up for Matt to catch up, and if he didn't do that then he would receive a time penalty of about 5 seconds.

NWRCharger said: I think the way the kick voting system works on autosport playlist lobbies is good, but sometimes find getting kicked out of lobbies for having to many points or being quick is quite unfair. I've heard a lot of complaints about this happening from a a lot of racers. You sort of earned the right to be that fast or start up the front. One person will kick you and will influence other to Aswell... An idea for fixing that may be to take the kick vote off the lobby screen and just have it on the racers screen that's recieved the kick vote so no one else can see it... This idea does have benefits and downfalls I suppose. And maybe in custom online lobbies, if you run for example a 5 race touring car session, maybe an oppertunity to kick unsporting racers out during each race would be more effective than having to wait till the end of the 5 races. Any views? Something with both these points would be good. That way the guy will see he's getting votes and stop driving like a douche or he'll go on a rampage lol.

Also I forgot to mention the constant issues in Custom Cup events online. Freezes, AI disappearing, hanging on race results screen, black screen, time delays on other cars (meaning that you could be side-by-side at the line but the other car jumps ahead by several seconds because their race started before yours), & so on. Do you even beta test your games Codemasters & @Loore? EDIT: Oh, & I forgot about the "DLC", what a joke, rehashing cars from previous games. Is it too hard to just include those cars with the game @Loore? Even worse, the future DLC cars are already in the game, hidden away. You can tell because the AI use them in online Custom Cups. Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, Nissan Auto Gallery R32 & GTR Spec V, Zenvo ST1, Hyundai Genesis Coupe, Alfa Romeo Gulietta, Tyler McQuarrie Chevy Camaro & presumably many more are hidden away, just like the Merc SLR 722, Aston Martin Zagato & Mclaren F1 GTR were before being made available to buy...

No rear view mirror listed in patch notes
Loore replied to RWB Charger's topic in General Discussion
Does that mean you guys are doing it properly, meaning the actual mirrors are functional instead of just a rectangle on the screen? Also does today's patch reduce the AI's love of the PIT manoeuvre? It's a virtual mirror at the top of the screen. We have made some fixes for certain AI, all of which are located within the patch notes. -
@Katoh74 You can't repair the car during selection, any repairs need to be done just before you race. After the loading screen you enter the "Paddock Area" where you can see all the cars on the track, there you see the "Race" symbol (the white steering wheel), to the right there is a line of other symbols (grey coloured), Tuning, Upgrades, Vehicle Repairs and so on. Use the DPad to move right 3 times so the "Vehicle Repairs" symbol is white, hit enter then use up/down on the Dpad then Enter to repair each area of the car. Pick event, Pick car, track loading screen, Paddock area, check repairs and settings while the timer is running, then race. Same again for the next race. :) Hope that helps you out.

Im going to call out T4RG4 on this one: think i read all those same twiiter "expressions" somewhere before? hmm like any time over the past 4 years when you need something from CM F1. Let me start by saying this, hats off to the guys for bringn back to the main stream what was placed on the history shelf for consoles ....F1 games! well done and in due recognition for their efforts, F1 2010 was awarded a BAFTA! then look at where we are now! so lets re-capp F1 2010 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2011 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2012 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2013 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2014 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) Well it should be BUT WAIT! by now, and a LOOONG time before even the "official" release news, we had screen shots, and we knew these couldn't be counted on as they would always say things like WORK IN PROGRESS IN WHITE WRITING OVER THEM hairymuff... have i even seen one snippet of a screen shot? NOPE. it's 8 weeks or so till the RELEASE date and STILL no images not even a few leaked shots! maybe there's nothing to leak!?? would make more sense no? so here's my Call out on T4RG4 and the entire CM f1 team Tried for F1 2014 next gen only , too hard to just copy existing code etc, too much memory they have never had or been used to, they can do MUCH MUCH MORE in terms of pit lane animations podiums etc, they WILL be trying to do what we have all asked for years but they have only just been set free on the next gen platforms, so it's all NEW territory. (i.e. having your pit crew AND the engineering crew animated at the same time, saving you being put on the dolly in Free practice session just to change boots, why cant we just ask for new Tyre come in during free practice and then carrer out again, ahh memory on THIS GEN, cant have both pit teams in the pit at the same time (im paraphrasing a conversation i had with T4RG4 via twitter a couple of years ago now.) SO there will be NO F1 2014, not even on old gen.. WHY? well they have been focusing on the NEXT GEN game, they could released F1 2013 with some lipstick on but who wants that? considering F1 2013 is on par with F1 2012... it prob cost more to rejig a game for this year and sell it as the sales are not going to be spectacular as they wont have been able to improove on 2013. not seeing since they have spent all their time on NEXT GEN 2014... So, do CM CARE if they dont release a game this year? in short NO go back to 2009 for those with short memories. YAAAAY CM have brought the F1 license, finally we will have more F1 games! wait what no 2009 on xbox or ps3? even their SUITS UPON HIGH were mad as hell, millions paid for a license and no game being released.. are they mad, who needs to be fired? but wait, we will do one on the PSP call it F1 2009, and then we can concentrate on the F1 201, and make a BAFTA winning game! HUUURAH GAMBLE PAID OFF, 2010 pulled in SHED loads of money, all is forgiven... so cue 5 years later and we are back in a similar situation..... you will be told SORRY NO F1 2014 THIS YEAR we do have a F1 2014 on mobile app or for the ps vita only, but hey listen we PROMISE next years will be GREAT! im not that angry at them as i would rather have a better 2015 next gen experience than same old same old watering down a winning formula into drivel (cough 2013 cough) what annoys me and fellow fans is the expectation that something great is going to happen, but not now.. in like 2 years time.. well then just bloody SAY IT! so in short no 2014 for next gen no 2014 for this gen 2014 maybe on some pikey mobile app or some poor soul on a vita will get a version of 2014... THAT will please the suits on high, they hink they are getting moneys worth for the cost of a licence but im betting it will be 2015 now but in CLASSIC CM fashion you will A: be told like a week before release date should of happened or B: they just go dark, and poor old Hata has to come back on after a few weeks and try and explain what those upon high have decided! end of the day, this long in releasing information on a new game has always either indicated a software house is going down (unlikely here) or that the game has been canceled / shelved or just down right kicked to the curb It's a win win for me anyways... im right or im wrong. and to be honest id love to be wrong! Please Turn off/ghost AI in Time Trial Racenet Challenges! and retry RN-Chlg. after xp/money gain
gaski replied to Photonik's topic in General Discussion
What he's getting at is that when you've done the challenge, you want the money/xp for it but 'retry' comes up before collecting the points. It's just bad functionality of the menus as most people will collect points and retry anyway. No point going through the menus to do this when they can re-arrange the menu functionality to make it sensible. It's the little things that detract from the great physics/handling etc. A number of things that bother me: You have to create a livery for every vehicle, you can't create global liveries such as one for time attack/race/endurance etc that can be applied to whatever event you are doing. Creating a racenet livery is fine but you should be able to make multiple liveries with relevant sponsors appropriate to race type Repair all functionCan't re-enter vehicle setup once you've started a racenet challenge. Have to quit out and go through menus again..VoIP during loading screen breaks up. Either put a 'no comms' icon on the loading screen or separate VoIP traffic from game loading traffic.AI in racenet challenges - mentioned this in another thread and said that the AI level should mirror what level you have in single player game. So infuriating when you're on a good time and they get in the way, especially in time attack! Ability to save last know commands in online/custom cup. Annoying that I have to reselect the same options to create the same game type I play or search for. Being able to name and save these session profiles would be better.Naming your custom game type session instead of having the hosts name. Being able to see which playsists are available in each class. Having to go into the same one you've just left because of idiots is very bloody annoying. Give us visibility of how many sessions are up!Spectator mode when you join session. Why is this missed off, it can be accessed once your on track so seems daft not to be able to have it when you join lobby...Edit... Having to re-rank the cars you've already tuned and sold on to manage garage space. Thought this wasn't the plan based on @loore comments pre-release? Garage spaces. I usually play Street but also love touring cars but because I can't keep up with the fastest in touring with my loaners, I tend not to bother with it that often. All my garage space is taken up with ranked Street / racenet challenge cars and as I quite like to win, my ventures into other disciplines are decided by my garage space. Sadly, garage space will remain as CM are DLC'ing 5 extra slots in the proposed packs Tuning/upgrading is another thing which I didn't like the sound of when I heard it was in and I still stand by it. Similarly to what I said above, people are making their descipline choice based on the cars they've ranked the most and have a higher chance of winning. This limits activity in places like open wheel/endurance and tuner which are probably not as popular as touring/street. Seems a bad way to promote the full disciplines on offer by having to tune/upgrade cars to be quick. -
Just reviving an old thread here quickly. Why would my PC be telling me on the internet icon in the bottom right of the screen that I'm connected to "Realtek PCIe GBE" rather than my BT Hub? The internet still works its just weird, I'd quite like to fix it if possible but Google hasn't helped much :/
-
Been trying to see the 3D image by staring through the screen for some time now. Is it one of those, or no?
-
I would like to grab my laptop and shake it while yelling at the screen demanding answers. I hate y'all. <3
-
I really like the function to have your second screen display extra stats, show timing etc. However, in Online it only seems to use the same view as I'm having on the main screen. I'd like a option to have that camera act as a back mirror, so I can see what's going on behind me. Would make it a lot more useful! Easier to know what's happening behind me, and dodge out of the way for flying maniacs :-)

Well sorry but I disagree with you on the fact that it wasn't overlooked because the game has more bugs than just the corruption issues... Like sometimes the entire grid doesn't start the race and therefor the race never ends, or at the end of the race the screen just goes black and forces a hard reset of your system, or the system just completely freezes, or it takes a very long time to go to the xp awards screen after the race does end... The game was not ready for release and definitely wasn't tested to the extent that it needed to be before releasing it to the public... Sometimes it makes me wonder if development teams even test these games on the consoles that they are selling it for, or just test it on a PC and then reformat the game for consoles expecting it to be flawless... I was looking forward to playing this game and having a great time with it because overall grid is a GREAT series but all I have had are problems and frustrations so far, so yea I'm disappointed and a bit pissed off lol.

Bad News for 3D Vision users Unfortunately ! http://steamcommunity.com/app/255220/discussions/0/540744936187982040/?tscn=1403731365#p2 QUOTE :"MeqTrader said, Still the same issue, even with the patch :( Nvidia 3D Single Card is still giving me 1 rendered screen, 1 white screen. ... and here http://steamcommunity.com/app/255220/discussions/0/46476145154667789/ QUOTE :"ALK Woody said, Nvidia 3D Vision - Still not fixed ... it still only render one half, the other ( right eye ) , is completely black ..." Sorry GraphicsGuy and I really do hope you can get it sorted this time because I think most 3D vision users are just single 3D monitor and not in StereoVision ... although you would think if it works in one mode it should work in the other.

Bumper cam needs to be a lot higher up, both chase cams needs a sticky option and lot higher up. In GRID2 we had amasing camera mod by AgentHeX 0007, that was perfect solution and was working online: http://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/camera-mods.334/ "Camera Heights Raised - Cam FX OFF Mod raise the bumper cam height to 1.1000 and both thechase camera heights to 2.1000 for ALL cars models. (Higher than default)And have a lot of the camera shaking/bouncing FX turned OFF.The idea behind these mod is that I found the default values for the bumper camerato be to low to the ground and the chase cameras view to be to low behind your carobscuring the view of the track. I also found the shaking camera effects a littledistracting so that can now be disabled or enabled if you prefer. LagRoll ON or OFF: This mod turns off the lag and roll of the camera when using chase cam view,The car will stay in the centre of your view when driving instead of swayingleft and right. This makes driving in chase view more like bumper cam mode andI personally find that it makes driving your car more precise as it is easier to lineyour car up with the apex of corners more accurately. It does take a while to getused to but once you have adjusted your driving style it can work great especiallyin combination with some of the other mods. Car Pull Away DEF, LOW or OFF: The idea behind this mod is that I did not like the way the car pulled furtheraway from your point of view the faster you car travels when in chase cam mode.I found it made picking you racing line unpredictable especially when cameraroll and lag is turned on which it is by default. Options:Car Pull Away DEF: This is the default game values, nothing has been changed.Car Pull Away LOW: The car will now take longer to pull furthest away from your viewpoint.Car Pull Away OFF: The car will not pull away from the camera at all. With this mod theposition of the camera has also been adjusted so that the car is in full view at all times, whereasby default when the car is stopped it is very close the the bottom of the screen or slightly offthe screen and pulls away from your viewpoint as speed increases. Enjoy, AgentHeX 007" And most important that this mod can be used online, and no any problems with saving. Except DLC cars. If codies can impement such functionality in options, many loyal racers will be very grateful for that.

On PS3 I find with the chase and far chase camera that a lot of the view is blocked by your own car - making bends blind, even with the racing line on (which you also can't see!) It's also strange that there is a "rooftop" type view in open wheelers and only one chase cam - this view would be great in the other disciplines as well. Found an image of the car's position on screen in Grid, and compared it to GAS with the chase cam - even though the view angles seem pretty similar, car seems to be significantly higher up the screen in GAS, meaning less of the track ahead is visible.
-
Hi Roger, yeah, the actual screen surface is made from hardboard (Masonite), 1/16" (3mm) and spray painted mid grey :), the frame from some recycled wood from a bedframe cut out with a wood router... cost (in the UK) was approx. £30 for the screen including board (£5, paint £15 and glue £10. projector was about £800 though lol. oh and yes, it was me who had did some cam files for the community on Grid1/2... among many others.
-
Not to leave out Xbox but I have a corrupt save file too. I cut the Xbox off at the screen when you go from selecting track back to where you pick your car for the next race. It would be a screen between these 2 screens is where I powered down. I thought that would have been a safe place. But that is what I get for thinking.

Been playing the game since Monday so I'll post a bit about what I've found. Some may be bugs, some are just minor annoyances. All in all, really enjoying the game and have probably equalled the amount of playing time that G2 got! Racenet Challenges Once you've entered a challenge and set up your car, you cannot get back to setup menu without quitting the game and restarting the challenge again. Seems a little long winded. The last touring car challenge on Bathurst - some people had times of 1:56. Whilst I'm not one to throw out cheat accusations, I'm not exactly slow and I can't break the 2:00 barrier, let alone an additional 4 seconds. People may be using fully tuned cars or getting quite lucky on the AI cars to slipstream but to me, 4 seconds seems a fair bit of a gap. There should be something in the leaderboards which shows the level of car rank used to make the time. AI on these challenges are very poor. They should at least match what our ingame career difficulty because the slow AI are too unpredictable and block every corner no matter which way I try to get around them. Rage inducing!Online Whilst I like playlists for the randomness of tracks/car combo's, it would be nice if we could see which sessions are available within a particluar playlist. I've left a few playlists because some people aren't exactly fair, only to restart and end up in the same one again. Having to keep restarting the session in hope of finding a different Street room is highly annoying. Please let me pick which Street Playlist I want to go in! Text chat - hear me out, I know its done to the death but it is very important for PC users. I've played a lot of online games against some good people and on occasions, I may end up running out of talent at a particular turn. I jump on the mic to apologise and hear nothing back, yet the guy I've just hit is in a session with 2 other mates. I presume they have their voice locked down to friends only so they can't hear me apologise. On the 2nd track, I get smashed to pieces by said group. I feel a quick "sorry mate, bit ambitious there" would go a long way in avoiding these situations. Joining a lobby - would like to see laps remaining in a session - sometimes I'm waiting for ages.Spectator mode - you can join spectator at the end of the race but not whilst you are waiting. Just seems a bit strange and I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before, but let us see what's going on in the session whilst we wait. If there's idiots, we don't have to waste time waiting for the next race and can be merrily on our way to the next session (that's if we don't get stuck in the session loop cycle and keep rejoining the same one - hence letting us pick it!)General HUD / Cockpit Fastest lap for a particular car/track should be permanently shown on the HUD so you know what to aim for. Bit pointless having the fastest lap of the session only.A rear view mirror would be nice or the option to turn it on/off Blurred cockpit cam - not that I use cockpit cam, but it does look a little bland and I can understand why it upsets those who primarily use that view. At the very least, there should be working dials - especially when you have the option to remove your HUD. Even the vehicles in the beta version of Battlefield Hardline had working dials.Garages/Cars/Menu options Garage slots - There's not enough - I end up having to pick all my garage slots for 1 particular class. I have bought maximum slots and have just filled my garages with street cars until I rank them up. Then I end up selling them all just to move onto the next class. Surely we should have 8/10 slots per class and not 8 slots across the whole game. With the repair bills on top, it's hard to win enough money to stay afloat and be competitive when you keep selling your ranked cars to buy the next class specific cars to tune those.Repair - please can we have a 'repair all' option instead of having to repair individual elements all the time - or get rid of this feature altogether. Tuning setup - as mentioned earlier, allow us to enter this menu from the pause screen in offline/racenet challenge mode. Having to go round the houses and wait for cut scenes becomes tedious after a while.Car purchase - allow us to do it from the car selecting screen i.e. you join a session and have to pick a loaner car but you may have enough cash to buy that car. Just give us a buy now option instead of us having to quit the game just go to go to the car buying menu. Also, if you don't have a garage slot, let us purchase that at the same time (or remove the garage limit and just include the 'buy now' option for the car in the menu)As metioned at the beginning, I'm properly enjoying a Codemasters game again and have met some fast and fair people online, more so than I found in G1 and G2. To be fair, most of the sessions I've played in haven't tolerated idiots and they've been swiftly booted come the next race. I've also embraced the voice comms given the lack of text chat but I still think there's some way to maintain player engagament and longevity of GAS. Good job codies, keep listening to your community!

I do think that u are talking about the full game, but to make it clear: Are you talking about: - The "GRID Autosport - Limited Edition Black Edition" Or - The "GRID Autosport DLC Season Pass" I do think this could be the problem: "To download a game your PS3™ needs twice as much HDD space as the size of the game. You can adjust the length (laps) of a race by going into the Difficulty Settings located in the Options menu or in the pre-race screen. (The screen where your car is on the track but you're still in the menu.) There are multiple race lengths available to choose: Normal, x2, x3, or x5. Changing that option only applies to the races in Career mode. If you are creating a Custom Cup, you go to Even Details, then click on the track, and go to 'Laps (Race 1)' and adjust your race laps there. Hope I helped.
-
Hi Nemesismo, Unfortunately the second screen option does indeed only show a duplication of the main race window. This is because online doesn't feature Replays, which is the system that generates all those cool extra camera angles that the second screen uses.

Ive mentioned this elsewhere but want to mention it again now that im a little further in to playing this game. My main two points of feedback that are negative are 1] The engine sound of the car you are driving is often drowned out by exhaust sounds of cars a wee way away. Plenty of times i loose sight of my engine revs and end up in the wrong gear, bogged down or over revving like hell 2] on about 5 occasions ive been in a server that has ai backfilling yet some of the ai never start the race, they just sit on the grid for the duration. Every time ive seen this the server cannot progress past the end of race results screen. The results screen shows dashes in place of the non-starting ai for their laptime etc. The only way out of this, is to quit. On a more positive note, the grafix are cool. the touring cars are cool, the physics seems great and the online lobby system is.....ok well it aint that great but its passable.
