I have noticed that the cost to maintain cars is a lot more affordable. But, I have been "locked up" twice now at the race load screen. I have noticed problems like this before with other games after I downloaded an update. So hopefully it is just a wrinkle that will get ironed out. I did get 500,000 credits added to my in-game account. Other folks said theybgot them as well, so thank you Codies for that. I have raced about 8 to 10 "Online Playlist" races and this all I have noticed so far anybody else see anything else?

Have been desperate to get reviews of FH2 and Driveclub to try to make my mind up about which console to get. Frankly the fanboy whining doesn't do much for me. I reckon a game will be pretty much as good at 900p vs. 1080p. For me the game exclusives and their gameplay dominate the choice. I think 60fps @ 1080p will become a standard on both platforms eventually. Of the exclusives, I never played halo or had a 360, so the master chief collection looks good value. Plus FH2 looks to be much better than driveclub. However much titles like pcars might be slightly better on the ps4 vs the xbox, I think being able to play FH2 trumps that. So it looks like xbone it is ! Trust me you wouldn't regret it. I'm primary a PC gamer but have both the X1 & PS4. Really the performance of the PS4 isn't much and wouldn't be noticeable to most people. I have a high end PC and play at 1440p, yet I don't find the X1 games ugly and have yet to find a game on PS4 that looks better really (unless you look really really closely) but I'd rather just play and have fun gaming. When some say "the ps4 is 50% more powerful) it doesn't mean they look 50% better. Trust me you will love Horizon 2 if you get it, and I also second what Dave said. Would love an extra player to play Destiny with unless that's not your sort of game. :) @RevolvingPrawn Read the messages I've sent you. :p Thanks. I can see how if you have the PC the move up to 1440 is a lot more signifcant. That said what you dont have you don't miss, and my crappy 20" screen (for the moment) wouldn't do that justice.. I think I will get PC as well at some point - I have some very powerful PCs at work I can use, but for me the motivation is more on the modding stuff than the performance increase. it looks like to me that if you are seriously into a game the modding gives it a whole new life. Yes I will look into destiny. Played the COD games a fair bit, not so bad at them but never got into online though.

Care to clarify what minimum and recommened actually mean? I mean, is recommend specs the requirement for a full 60fps at 1080P max settings? or 1440P? Maybe just High settings, or 30fps, who knows. Also, its recommend that you have an AMD HD6000 series, or Nvidia 500 series card, so does that include something like, for example a GeForce 510, or Radeon HD6450? Of course not, but they still fit into the description. I think Codies really need to clarify. Would imagine 1080 as I think most game at that level as you can only game at 1440 or higher if you're running through a specialized monitor. usually only PC geeks/serious PC gamers tend to buy those. Most like myself I think game through a standard screen that does 1080p

Hi Hatta, I'm able to get continuous 60 fps with max(ultra) settings for F1 2013 on my pc with the given specs below. Can I get the same results with F1 2014 on one screen? Thanks.: Haswell i5-4670K 16 GB RAM Nvidia GTX 760 - 2 GB VRAM Gigabyte GA-287X-OC Force Motherboard

I didn't make my question clear. I didn't mean the racing screen, I meant the screens for the setup areas before the racing.

It doesn't make sense to use a mouse when you play with a wheel or a gamepad. I'm glad they didn't put the mouse pointer on the interface screen.

Anyone still playing 2011? I can't stand the new handling models.
roist1 replied to TrueSaber's topic in Leagues
I'm dying to run F1 2011 on Xbox 360. I bought it as opposed to 2012 (which was also in stock) due to the fact that 2011 has split-screen and with 2013 having hit shelves, I figured my chances at a lobby were slim to none (as they have been). So feel free to friend me on Xbox. Gamertag: roist510 Thanks. Note: I also have these Codemasters gems: Dirt 2, Grid and Grid Autosport. -
It could be that the weather wasn't inhibiting it as they started the race, but when that new front rolled in the situation changed Entirely possible. I didn't see the radars at the beginning, just saw what was on-screen, and it looked just as bad at the beginning as it did when they red flagged the race at the end.

Well when I woke up at 06:02 this morning, went downstairs and turned on the TV I put on the FP3 show and I always skip through it at 30x speed to get to the action. However, for a split second I saw 'Vettel leaves Red' and I thought, 'no, it's not what I think it is'. So I re-winded and guess what, it was. Vettel leaves Red Bull! I was not expecting that at all. Some of my mates have said they've seen it coming but honestly, I didn't think he'd go, definitely not this season. Incredible. How will he fare alongside Raikkonen next year? Gonna be so interesting. And Alonso, he's gotta be going to McLaren, surely? He's out of Ferrari, Red Bull are confirmed, and Mercedes, and Williams, and no where else would be good for him, so yeah, he's definitely off to McLaren. And that would probably put Button out of there, so where would he go? And then Kvyat in at Red Bull! That could be a fantastic team if he has what it takes, but I feel very sorry for Vergne, again being overlooked for the Red Bull seat. I can't see Toro Rosso keeping him at Toro Rosso for another year either, and to be honest, why would he? It's pretty obvious if another Red Bull seat comes available in 2015/2016 then Verstappen will get it. I can see Sainz going to Toro Rosso now, as he should be after a great season in F3.5.

Ah man that's pretty damn cheeky. Normally Afterburner would be the first thing I would think to use, but using it on my TV PC a few months ago to lower the GPU fan speeds, it completely effed up the rest of the system. Only figured it out after uninstalling it and everything being perfect after that, so I haven't used it since. @sjsharp2010 Read the rest of my posts :p It was at idling at 30c earlier, even after gaming. But now, even after giving the system time to cool down, it's boots up and is straight to 36c, no matter what I do. I'm not doing anything different to earlier, yet it's now 6c higher and I don't know why. @Hughesy Sweet! Just figured out that DSR works on desktop too :D Currently rocking the same res as you. How the hell can you see writing on the screen? ;)

Yeah it can be close, I followed you around the Yas Marina full circuit last night corner for corner and I just couldn't quite catch you and on another race I was on your bumper going toe to toe and I looked away for a split second as the wind was bad and my 'racing shed' rocked a bit, looked back and I was off the track, I could of had you that race I reckon lol. Are you still driving with a keyboard?

Steering Wheel in Williams (F1 2014)
iceman153 replied to Mateusz28496's topic in General Discussion
Yup.. at least it doesn't have the big LCD screen anymore, they just didn't move the LED's off the wheel. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard to just copy the redbull... apparently it is! -
Ok, then why giggle and benefit from it? The instant I hit you back, your mic works. There was no communication from you to indicate you were hit. But you can communicate when I hit you. Your mic was plugged in and ready to go. The split second I contact your car your talking. Why didn't you just explain when you Binned me? I may not have a working mic on the pc, but I can hear the voice through the TV. Because you did it deliberately. No respect for human racers. Your sick of my attitude....... I'm sick of attitudes like yours....get out of the way I'm better and I'm lagging. If we race again, and I nail you through a wall are you going to ask why?

Sound's like you are either braking to late which is forcing you wide or you are braking to much then locking the wheels up. Try to just do laps at first and not worry about your pace compared with AI or friends, the moment I try to do a fast lap I'm slow if you know what I mean (push to much) Try to think that the corner starts as soon as you apply the brakes as if your to early you will loose time through corner speed but if your to late you will miss the apex then loose time waiting to get on the throttle. The trick to braking late is applying 100% pressure to begin with then as you come down the gears keep release pressure slightly from 4th-3rd gear as this will prevent the wheels locking up and if you do it should only be a minor 1 so wont loose to much time. If you can get the braking right the rest will come good in time :) The way id say to practice is turn all assists off as you never find the limit with abs and tc, go to gp mode (TT has loads of grip so not good imo to learn the grip) only do practice sessions and spend the hour finding where you need to brake for each corner. A good guide is looking at the 150, 100, 50 braking meter board, example brake at the 100m board if you run wide next time brake approx 105m and so on untill you nail the apex of the corner. The replay system comes in handy as you can watch when you brake and how that allowed you to take the corner. I know I might sound abit rude now but do you have a rough idea of where you need to brake and what gear to be in for the tracks? only reason I ask is if you dont it will def help just to have a look at the hotlap vids that are on the garage screen as they will give you a good starting point, even better if you watch the real onboards on youtube and such! Soz bout long post but I find it hard explaining things in little sentences lol!

You shouldn't get screen tear when Vsync was on as that's the whole point of it, so either game, driver or monitor problem lol Id love a 4k screen but until graphics cards are powerful enough it's not worth it. Just played a bit of Middle Earth shadow of Mordor and it uses all of my 3GB of vram without downloading the high res textures (which use 6GB of vram!) which is why I won't buy a 980. The PS4 has 8GB although not all can be used, which is why it disappointed me that the 980 only has 4gb. They really should've sold the 980 with a minimum of 6gb to start with (there are going to be 980s with 6 or 8gb soon) I only played the game for 30mins but found it really good, and it seems to be well optimised apart from the vram usage.

Ouch! So on top of the amount you spend on a GPU you'd have had to pay another £70 or so? Deffo good to go back to air cooling! They certainly do bud, I keep telling my bro to get an SSD too, but he's set fast and sticking with his HDD lol. Atm, my drives go 128GB for OS and Programs, 1TB SSHD for videos, pictures and music, 1TB HDD for games, a 2TB HDD for recording, and an external 1TB HDD for backing up. Can be annoying to go back and forth between them all, but I like having it all seperated too :) Lol, I don't think my eyes are as sensitive to flickering as yours then :p Fair enough though dude, I'd love an IPS monitor, but for me trading that for the higher refresh rate is a must, mainly because even with v-sync on I'd still get screen tear on my old monitor and I hated it! I imagine a 1440p IPS is screen is just awesome to look at though! Have you checked out any of the 4K monitors? Definitely something I'm gonna look at in the future, but while they're priced so high and are mainly 60Hz right now it'll probably be a few years before I really consider it.

I'm not really sure why, it just made me feel ill. I wouldn't know about screen tear as I always use Vsync. It's all personal to what you like. I mean I can still play at 1080p or lower otherwise I wouldn't have an X1/ps4 but if I play games on PC at that they look ugly (ish) compared to 1440p, plus I don't have to use AA really. When does your 980 come bud? I probably would've bought one if I didn't buy the PS4 and only the X1. Now I don't have a custom waterloop it won't cost me so much to upgrade which is good. I'm just waiting for Shadow of mordor to download, don't think it'll be ready until midnight though as its 34GB :# My two SSD's are going to get full quick with the size of the games now... I do get what you mean :p It's almost like it's too smooth and it throws your brain off balance a bit, but you do eventually get used to it, and for me now seeing anything below 50fps or so seems a little stuttery. The 980 should be here Friday morning :) Could have had it today, but I wasn't home and I won't trust my neighbours with something like that. I'm not too worried about games looking a bit ugly at 1080p now though, I'll be testing the DSR/SRT on the 980 when it's in :D And it's a shame you bought the PS4 dude, but I'm glad you bought your X1! It's awesome having someone to game with on Destiny :) Ah yea, you won't have to buy a new waterblock for your next GPU right? How much did it cost you for just that part? And what size SSD's? I keep seeing 512GB ones for around £150, and they keep tempting me :p But I will hold out this time! The waterblocks were £70+. I have two 256GB SSD's, they make a massive differnce to a PC, from boot times to general usage and games load amazingly quick compared to a HDD. Btw my brain works in mysterious ways lol I can see things on monitors that others can't. Because of the way lcd/led monitors are lit I can see flickering black sort of colour in motion. I can't remember the term but someone explained it to me on a tech website and suggested getting this Dell 1440p ips monitor and now it's fine, which means I don't strain my eyes. IPS monitors work differently to LCD/LED which means I don't see it. I'm not even sure if there are good ips 1440p monitors above 60hz as I didn't see any when I bought this one, but it doesn't bother me as I love my current one and don't see the need to go above 60fps.

Well, we're on the same size, mines 144Hz though :) Couldn't go back to 60 again, the screen tear was horrific! No specific reason you didn't like the 120Hz?

The F14T has the black stripe on the rear wing and on the rear bodywork just like the F14T launch spec : http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/ferrari-f14t-2014-2.jpg Oops, I though we were taking about the entire trailer. I do see what you were pointing out in that moment of 0:57-0:58 (I thought you were referring to the parc ferme celebration with Ricciardo) I made a screen shot for the frame in question, so others can see it too : Any reason why you showed 2013 @Hatta ? http://i1061.photobucket.com/albums/t478/NytRyda/f12013or14_zps2e61b57a.jpg

How can I eliminate the force feedback dead zone on the Fanatec CSR wheel?
Scrench replied to deregibus's topic in Technical Assistance
Me too. What little FF I do feel stays the same thruout full rotation, never changes. Tried everything from 0-100 on FF Settings menu. I think the main problem is that our CSR wheels are not supported by the game, only the the CSR Elite and lower versions. These wheel work great with Xbox and PS, not so much with any F1 PC game. I know of one of the better players on Youtube, Ben Daly, who just switched to the CSR and loves it, but alas, he's playing it on Xbox. My Replay doesn't work either. It goes to the panel with the transport control screen, but stays stuck on pause and rewind. No other button I push allows replay to work. Someone did a full paste/copy instruction that I could load into the game by erasing what's there and installing it, but that's over my head. -
Have you also done the classic time attacks? It went through my mind for a split-second, but I thought they were not mandatory because it is a DLC. Thanks anyway!

Russian gp demo f12014 gameplay courtesy of GameRiot
Liaveil replied to mjchaney96's topic in General Discussion
If ERS is in the game then I imagine it would be on the car setup screen if you can set where the power is applied. It doesn't activate like KERS does as there's no manual input from the driver. It's all automatic. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed one way or the other but I would think it would be in new gen if not this one.
