Having spent most of the day on PC . I have to agree, the depth on this game is incredible, even though the controller settings take some time to adjust. Its been a great experience, The manaul starts, pitstop options,Diff and brake bias adjustments. sectors screen,A.I ,Handling and general gameplay is fantastic. If CM get near this level of depth i would be impressed but they have big boots to fill. Really big.

Can FPS performance be tweaked in rainy conditions?
SkiddyMcCrash replied to xGabe62x's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Rains a killer innit. I have to drop my screen resolution when it rains, otherwise it feels like I'm racing in a cartoon strip -
That's brilliant :joy: Anyway I'm about to play Kerbal again, when I get into space I just start spinning, and I try to correct it and start spinning the other way :joy: Really has be in tears of joy. Won't be landing on the Mun anytime soon, only just started career mode so don't have much yet. Btw is there a way to make the UI bigger in Kerbal? I see no setting, I can't play at 1440p as I'd need a magnifying glass, it's not that much better at 1080p from where I'm sat. If I had my nose touching the screen it would be fine, it's the one thing that does my head in.

DiRT Rally feedback list
ValhallasChosen replied to Azoresst's topic in DiRT Rally Series Suggestions
So far I am loving this game, there are only a couple of things I can think of to improve the game. Please add the stage length in kilometers/miles to the pre-race information screen where the terrain percentages are displayed - 3.5 miles 85% light gravel 15% medium gravel I have not seen an option to have community ghosts turned on, this is always a nice feature when trying to beat times to see where you are losing or gaining time. So far Wales is the worst location in my opinion. I look forward to events in Greece and Monte Carlo but when I see that its Wales (for potentially 8 races in a row) it makes me want to stop playing. The uneven terrain is a head ache, and the over all visual quality is not in line with the other two locations. Its drab, flat and boring. It looks like it was an after thought. I am excited for the addition of Hillclimb events but I was curious if there were any plans to add CrossOver courses to Dirt Rally. These events were some of my favorite from previous games, though much less simulation oriented. -
It is old screen, i have seen it in february

Can we have stage length displayed in the stage info screen? It would be nice to have stage statistics available upon completing a stage: max/avg speed, air time/length, etc. -
Why are their not prizes for championship result? unless I am missing that screen somewhere?

I just crashed out on the last stage of 4. I went over the edge, terminal damage. Nevermind, I'll try again. Back on the results screen I hit the A button thinking it'll let me have another attempt, whereas I should've pressed B to restart (xbox 360 controller). Could you add an extra dialog "Are you sure?" to warn me that I've chosen to skip that stage? Thanks.

I'd like to see: A time trial option that allows me to race any car/stage, see the online leaderboard and race the ghosts of my PB and anyone else I so choose. More than one offline event to compete in at any one time. I'd like to pick and choose. Maybe there could be club and national events for me to choose between. A 'Back' option in every screen. I shouldn't have to pass through several loading screens just to go back and select another option. An option to quit the entire event regardless of where I am in it. An option to select the TV or helicopter cameras only when viewing replays. Some DiRT 2 soundtracks ;) My son commented that the soundtracks have gotten progressively worse! And he is right :)

Steam Workshop Support €dit: Put up a list with cars that you could add. I assume not all cars are possbile due to licensing. Make a poll to vote which cars are desired the most by the community. Borderless window mode in addition to windowed and full screen mode.

Not repeating what I've put in previous posts so this is just a few more of my thoughts so far - The ability to pause a race, change graphical settings including the screen resolution then continue racing very nice, a vast improvement from needing to restart the game. No tedious menu navigation, intro scenes or 'Hi dude I'm Dave your personal career manager, before we get started, bla bla bla' I hope none of this crap finds its way into the full version. I also like yes as the default option for exit game

DiRT Rally Bug Report - Menu Crash
GraHam71GB replied to GraHam71GB's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
It's happened to me on different stages always from the screen where you can do repairs, after reloading the (not always the 1st attempt) I have been able to continue without skipping the stage. Not sure if Patch V0.31 has fixed this... will update if/when it crashes again -
some more feedback -Mini Cooper, the handbrake need to be fix, now it only stop the car, just a little bit of slide, even on ice. -The recovery button, it doesn't work all the time, sometimes you need to press start and recover from there -co-pilot turn signals on screen, please let the signals stay until the turn, sometimes I forget the direction (and number) and I make a disaster. PLEASE fix the weight of the cars, every time you hit something you start flying even if you drive at 20km/h, RedBull is the official sponsor of the game?

DiRT Rally feedback list
Rallycameraman replied to Azoresst's topic in DiRT Rally Series Suggestions
So you're saying that a rally driver with real world experience of driving a rally car, can't say how a car should feel in a game, but someone who just sits in front of a computer screen, and hasn't driven a competition car in his life, can tell the devs exactly how a rally car should handle. Well that certainly gave me a chuckle. Thanks. And im sure you could 'smoke most professional drivers in RBR' probably because RBR isn't realistic. -
This describes exactly what happened to me as well, went back to main menu clicked x, came back a few hours later and kept getting that error when it tried to check content after title screen, hasnt worked for 24 hours now. I did try what you suggested but fullscreen was already turned on...Just so everyone knows I believe everyone iv seen that cant fix this error has had an intel CPU and nvidia GPU. look on steam forums and you'll see tons of people that are stuck like I am. Im running i5 2550k gigabyte GTX 670 win7 tried updating video driver didn't help. Its just very strange all these people are finding a fix by opening up C: drive space. I had 40gb free, made it 60gb free, tried moving to 2nd drive with 150gb free, tried adjusting pagefile, still nothing. Even more strange is I'm the only one iv seen that played before it became unfixable I'm pretty convinced (and honestly jealous) that i am no longer in control of when I can play next.

Does anyone know how to get 3 screens working??? I have an Nvidia setup with three 24" 1080p monitors. It works just fine with iRacing, and all the other racing games - need for speed, etc. I have the Nvidia Surround enabled so Windows 7 think I have a 5760x1080 single display. But in the Dirt Rally game it only allows me to pick 1920x1080 or lower, and drops it on the center screen.

Just letting everyone know I caused and then fixed this problem myself.... The game was running fine, no error 41 ever and I had alt-tabbed in and out a number of time with no problems. Here is the sequence of events that led to error 41: 1) Played the game normally (full screen 1080p), quit back to main menu. 2) From main menu, Alt-tabbed to windows desktop. 3) Quit game by CLICKING RED WINDOW CLOSE BUTTON. I did not quit the game through the menu as per normal. 4) Upon next launch, game tried to launch in window (1024x768). 5) Immediately stopped responding, required a force quit, which then led to Error 41 message. 6) Tried lots of things, reverify game file cache, reboot etc. Nothing worked, still had Error 41 message. WHAT WORKED: 7) Edited the hardware_settings_config.xml file in Documents/my games/Dirt Rally/hardwaresettings and made fullscreen = true. Problem fixed, no more Error 41. I'm running Windows 7 & AMD 7970.

First off, what an amazing project! Very interesting to see a proper sim-rally, it's been over 10 years since the last one! Many of the things I'd like to see have already been mentioned, except most importantly: Hotseat rallying This is something that I'm sure many old Rally Trophy and Richard Burns fans miss, myself included ofc. The hotseat mode in RBR was a little slim, not including a proper championship, but individual rallies. Rally Trophy however had a championship mode for up to 8 players to play locally, and you could even save your progress and continue later. I sorely miss the times when 2-6 of my friends got together and we'd play RT for a day or a whole weekend, often very competetively! We even had a tv screen set up with a duplicate of the picture, so those waiting for their turn to drive could spectate the rally. I understand that online racing is the thing these days, but when it comes to rallying, it's nowhere near as fun as local racing with the added social aspect and excitement.

DiRT Rally Now Available in Early Access | Codemasters Blog
Gambit replied to CodiesBlogBot's topic in News & Announcements
Well done to Codemasters only got this today loving it. been too long waiting for a game like this closest out was the WRC games which was ok at best. I'd also buy this on console if in doubt flatout. A game that sets the real men from the boys, with the arcade style play. Yes it's fun for awhile but I like the challenge and swearing at my screen as my tyre pops when I'm trying my best :) Really hope many more PC owners get behind this to support it and the console version if it gets the go ahead. Anyway time to go get mad some more :) but huge thumbs up from me keep up the great work :) -
DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games
SkiddyMcCrash replied to MastaVonBlasta's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
1, I stared at the splash screen while trying to register my copy of DiRT for a good 5 minutes before it sank in that I was looking at a new game. About a minute after that and I had broken my decision (made on the way to the shop while DiRT was installing) not to buy any more games now that I had all 3 DiRTs on pc. 2, Back at you 3, Thanks for taking onboard what we asked for 4, Yes, you evil genius's -
This isn't accurate. Obviously things may change, but for the moment, DiRT Rally is what it is  I'm really honoured to be in the game credits, or what those screen grabs are :) , but to be perfectly honest I feel like us console gamers deserve a bit of straight talk from you guys at Codemasters. Comments like this, and the FAQ only works to make matters even worse for us. I hope you can tell us what the plan is, maybe not today, and maybe not tomorrow, but I am expecting an answer relatively soon on what all of this conflicting information regarding the console availability means. It is kind of hard to distinguish speculation from hard facts when you are using vague formulations like these. I guess my question boils down to this: Is there even a serious intention to release the game on consoles? I am only one person in this, but I know a lot of people would be very glad to play a game like this on console. People like me who does not have the room for a gaming rig or the money or whatever. I have always been impressed by the openness from Codemasters towards us fans and I do trust you will make things clear to us soon, or at the very least give us some insight into when we can expect a definite answer from you: Will we be able to play this game? Which in my eyes do look like an absolute blast!! Cheers, /Martin 'there is always DiRT3' Pedersen ...alternatively if anybody could go ahead and lend me a gaming rig for the next couple of years until there might be reason for us to pick up this thread again in eager anticipation for DiRT Rally 2, (which I hope you will be able to put onto consoles as well). Preferably one that is small enough to fit between my TV-set and my PS4. ...that would be great!

Hi Codies, looking very promising but can't find an option for 21:9 aspect ratio, any plans to implement it as more people are buying these ultrawide monitors. The main reason i bought one was for racing games especially as i don't have the space for a triple screen setup. -
