@Loore How much longer on this Patch...??? I lost many hours with the latest Save Corrupt. I hope mine can be fixed. My Xbox kept freezing on the loading screen, which is why I believe my "Save Data is Corrupt"
-
I'm on Xbox, and I can get online, but my Xbox FREEZES at the end of Every Online Race whether it be an Online Playlist or a Challenge. I get my XP and Money (But not saved after the FREEZE) then when it goes to the Loading screen it sits on the first box and that's it??? WTF??? Edit: This issue seems to be with Only cars that I OWN Edit: Now I have a Save Game Corrupt!!!! Where is the Technical Assistance????????????????????????

It should be easy enough to add a checkbox to the Options screen to enable/disable the AI's elastic band ability. Though they should probably bump Ravenwest's skillz a bit to compensate for the need to make them the biggest and most obvious rubber band out there...

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games
MastaVonBlasta replied to MastaVonBlasta's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Codemasters' websites are shaking following the F1 news! :O I have to say I'm mainly surprised as for some reason I was sure it would appear in October/November on PS4/XB1 and PC. 'Next-gen' version scheduled release in 2015 suggests that the next gen technology by Codies is not ready yet and more time is needed. The time it takes to develop something brand new or the fundamental game engine may also drive the next DiRT well into 2015. I suspect that Codemasters are not yet fully convinced by the install base of new consoles and still want to release on PS3 and X360. Would the next DiRT come out on those? I doubt it will as the old tech may hold back the game and if releases after F1 2015 then the install base of next-gen will be better. F1 2014 right now seems like a refresh of '13 with turbos (not easy in itself). Perhaps the team had to be clearly split between development of F1 2014 and next gen tech for 2015. As a result F1 2014 does not appear to include anything revolutionary and F1 2015 is months away. As @gfRally wrote above Codies explicitly sat that F1 2015 will be their first next-gen title. Where does it leave DiRT? Seemingly quite far into the future :( Then again the approach with F1 2015 to release the game early in the season to update it with 2015 season content is quite a shift in approach for Codemasters. Are Codemasters trying out subscription financed offering? With the recent 'Early Access' trend there may be even more Codemasters could do. It would have been amazing if towards the end of the year Codemasters released an Early Access/Beta of F1 2015 on PC. If the DiRT game was advanced enough for such a step I'd be right on it! I have to digest all we have learned today. My hope was that F1 2014 being a full-blown next-gen title the DiRT game would be next in line for a release. I'm a very big fan of the F1 games and I'm likely to get F1 2014 on PC, but next rally game is the stuff I'm craving for :) -
They've said before that they don't need to wait until the cars are revealed to work on other aspects of the game. I think they will work on improving handling/tracks and add features before the reveal of the cars and then when they are in preseason testing they will work on the new shapes and liveries. They would need to get an idea of the performance of the cars too, so I don't see this being released before the first European race (so, May ?). Plus, I think its fairly obvious that all the tracks won't be released at once. The regular updates will add tracks as the arrive throughout the year . Yeah do you think they will work with this year's cars? If you look at early 2010 trailers it was 2009 cars? Just hope they get it right since didn't play much of last year's cos of upgrading then missing this year's! Just hope it does come may time n they should do a Dev dairy or something show screen shots or something way before the release just hope they know what they are doing with next gen on but on the plus side all f1 games after 2015 will be closer to start of the season now? Witch should be better

Hahahahaha. It supports triple screen. This is so cool. I think they stole the cockpit view from Grid Autosport :p They also have a few other views The menus are completely broken on triple screens (Any change on getting this fixed @justbiglee ?) Next to try my wheel

Patch (30th July) doesn't address repair costs.
FOSTBITTEN replied to jerryhat's topic in General Discussion
It is for the PC and I think the repair cost thing may be here to stay for a bit. If you notice sometimes at the bottom of the screen it says something about: "Cars costing too much repair? Then you may have to sell it and get another car to avoid high maintenance cost". -
No rear view mirror listed in patch notes
Loore replied to RWB Charger's topic in General Discussion
Does that mean you guys are doing it properly, meaning the actual mirrors are functional instead of just a rectangle on the screen? Also does today's patch reduce the AI's love of the PIT manoeuvre? It's a virtual mirror at the top of the screen. We have made some fixes for certain AI, all of which are located within the patch notes. -

@Katoh74 You can't repair the car during selection, any repairs need to be done just before you race. After the loading screen you enter the "Paddock Area" where you can see all the cars on the track, there you see the "Race" symbol (the white steering wheel), to the right there is a line of other symbols (grey coloured), Tuning, Upgrades, Vehicle Repairs and so on. Use the DPad to move right 3 times so the "Vehicle Repairs" symbol is white, hit enter then use up/down on the Dpad then Enter to repair each area of the car. Pick event, Pick car, track loading screen, Paddock area, check repairs and settings while the timer is running, then race. Same again for the next race. :) Hope that helps you out.

I paid for a game and season pass just to be able to look to a loading screen with an error notice for a corrupt save! I know I'm to be blamed to be so naive. Mea Culpa!

Tried to load up GRID AUTOSPORT and It won't get past the Loading Screen with GRID AUTOSPORT Copy right Code masters and a it goes off and starts again. A werid eagle thing appears at the bottom which I have never seen before.. I'm a former wheel user who went back to controllers after it became clear that developers were focusing their efforts on the typical console user experience. Controller in hand and sitting back from the screen. I'm not happy about the loss of immersion but I had to face the reality that I'm guaranteed support if I use my XBox 360 Controller For Windows. Although I must note that Codemasters even forgot to put the deadzone fix for the 360 controller in the release version of Grid AutoSport. Seriously, Codies?

It's matte red and matte black with gloss grey stripe. Ideally the grey would be chrome and it'd have black wheels. These are just photos of a TV screen... enjoy the texture I guess ;)

Im going to call out T4RG4 on this one: think i read all those same twiiter "expressions" somewhere before? hmm like any time over the past 4 years when you need something from CM F1. Let me start by saying this, hats off to the guys for bringn back to the main stream what was placed on the history shelf for consoles ....F1 games! well done and in due recognition for their efforts, F1 2010 was awarded a BAFTA! then look at where we are now! so lets re-capp F1 2010 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2011 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2012 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2013 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) F1 2014 = released Singapore GP Wkend (Fri Free Practice) Well it should be BUT WAIT! by now, and a LOOONG time before even the "official" release news, we had screen shots, and we knew these couldn't be counted on as they would always say things like WORK IN PROGRESS IN WHITE WRITING OVER THEM hairymuff... have i even seen one snippet of a screen shot? NOPE. it's 8 weeks or so till the RELEASE date and STILL no images not even a few leaked shots! maybe there's nothing to leak!?? would make more sense no? so here's my Call out on T4RG4 and the entire CM f1 team Tried for F1 2014 next gen only , too hard to just copy existing code etc, too much memory they have never had or been used to, they can do MUCH MUCH MORE in terms of pit lane animations podiums etc, they WILL be trying to do what we have all asked for years but they have only just been set free on the next gen platforms, so it's all NEW territory. (i.e. having your pit crew AND the engineering crew animated at the same time, saving you being put on the dolly in Free practice session just to change boots, why cant we just ask for new Tyre come in during free practice and then carrer out again, ahh memory on THIS GEN, cant have both pit teams in the pit at the same time (im paraphrasing a conversation i had with T4RG4 via twitter a couple of years ago now.) SO there will be NO F1 2014, not even on old gen.. WHY? well they have been focusing on the NEXT GEN game, they could released F1 2013 with some lipstick on but who wants that? considering F1 2013 is on par with F1 2012... it prob cost more to rejig a game for this year and sell it as the sales are not going to be spectacular as they wont have been able to improove on 2013. not seeing since they have spent all their time on NEXT GEN 2014... So, do CM CARE if they dont release a game this year? in short NO go back to 2009 for those with short memories. YAAAAY CM have brought the F1 license, finally we will have more F1 games! wait what no 2009 on xbox or ps3? even their SUITS UPON HIGH were mad as hell, millions paid for a license and no game being released.. are they mad, who needs to be fired? but wait, we will do one on the PSP call it F1 2009, and then we can concentrate on the F1 201, and make a BAFTA winning game! HUUURAH GAMBLE PAID OFF, 2010 pulled in SHED loads of money, all is forgiven... so cue 5 years later and we are back in a similar situation..... you will be told SORRY NO F1 2014 THIS YEAR we do have a F1 2014 on mobile app or for the ps vita only, but hey listen we PROMISE next years will be GREAT! im not that angry at them as i would rather have a better 2015 next gen experience than same old same old watering down a winning formula into drivel (cough 2013 cough) what annoys me and fellow fans is the expectation that something great is going to happen, but not now.. in like 2 years time.. well then just bloody SAY IT! so in short no 2014 for next gen no 2014 for this gen 2014 maybe on some pikey mobile app or some poor soul on a vita will get a version of 2014... THAT will please the suits on high, they hink they are getting moneys worth for the cost of a licence but im betting it will be 2015 now but in CLASSIC CM fashion you will A: be told like a week before release date should of happened or B: they just go dark, and poor old Hata has to come back on after a few weeks and try and explain what those upon high have decided! end of the day, this long in releasing information on a new game has always either indicated a software house is going down (unlikely here) or that the game has been canceled / shelved or just down right kicked to the curb It's a win win for me anyways... im right or im wrong. and to be honest id love to be wrong! Heart believes it head says otherwise See you all online around the Official F1 Singapore Race 2015 ;-) TTFN Akira Kain

Funny, wasnt it supposed to come out this week? What a coincidential delay with the booster dlc for the grabs now............. The patch was delayed because QA raised a few things. It's a bit bigger than normal what with the rear view mirror and advanced controller options going into it. We'd rather delay and wait, instead of putting it out unfinished, am sure you'd be first in line to shout at us if that was the case. Advanced controller options is two lines of code and you know it. Rear view mirror is a virtual one IIRC, meaning a rectangle at the top of the screen, which is no work at all (especially if you're not going to optimise it, and let's face it, you won't). If you were implementing proper mirrors in the interior views then I could believe there is some work involved, but a rectangle and a menu toggle? Who have you got working on this, an intern?

F1 2013 - PC - Game crash and restarts when loading profile
krsjoker replied to teamsort's topic in Technical Assistance
i had this yesterday.. I was playing for hours online and the game suddenly restarted but when i choose my click on my profile just before the main menu the screen goes black and the game restarts or sometimes just back to the desktop,i had to make a new profile which means i have lost all my car set ups :( Anyone know whats happened? Thanks Thanks -
@katoh74 When the screen comes up to where it shows "select vehicle" the car you own should be the 1st car after you hit "select car". Then you hit the button on xbox it is the blue X button then your livery options should show your custom livey's to choose. Plus if you are in a racenet club it will show that too. And as far as setups go what class are you racing in that you can go from a race track to a street circuit? Because for online playlists you will have to use 2 different cars to do that.

Question: Why Did Codemasters make Online racing POOR when compared to offfline (Custom Cup)?
Hammerpgh62 replied to OctoberDusk06's topic in General Discussion
I agree with Robert, this game is superb in its offline modes but just feels as though the online element in terms of actual racing has been cobbled together somewhat. There should be consisitency between the offline and online modes of any game surely. I mean no qualifying, really!! How was that looked at as a sensible way forward, it makes no sense at all. When I saw the offline Custom Cup mode I was really delighted to see that it had brought over elements from the Race Pro like practice sessions before the races and then qualifying and the ability to set reversed grids based on the previous race resuilts, etc. So to then find those elements removed for the online mode and in addition to also lose the excellent engineer feedback option (especially when there is no other lap time feedback available via split times, etc. ) were really decisions that I could not understand. Are there any plans to introduce those lost elements from the offline mode into the online mode or are we pretty much stuck with how it is at present. I love the game in so many ways but online feels very much like it has been hamstrung for me because of these little inconsistencies. -
Don't worry what others say. People that say "oh I play on Legend and it's too easy" and then go on to mock people don't seem to get or are too ignorant to understand that everyone has a different skill level. The whole point of gaming is that it caters to all ages and all skill levels which is why it's so popular. If they were only made for the top 10% then gaming would've died by now. Sorry for going off topic but it had to be said. I agree but it seems to me that CM need to make the games I think with 1 or 2 more difficulty settings than they actually did with F1 2013. I think the fact the fact that somebody observed I think it was @thehoodedclaw a former forum poster on the old forums that the difficulty were evenly split about 2 seconds apart from one another and I think what they need to do with 2014 assuming they keep the same strategy and level setting is add a new difficulty call it Rookie/Beginner and make it about 2 seconds slower than Amateur and I think that would solve the problem as really that's what's happened as Amateur was made around 2 second faster in and around the old 2012 and earlier intermediate level pace. CM screwed up on this last year I just don't want them to repeat the mistake. I've had a lot of fun hours with CM's racing games and I'd love to have more. CM need to take what is good about their games and keep using those elements. By all means add things like tyre wear or twitchy cars or whatever seems to be the main thing of that season but don't make things too unplayable and hard on the bottom levels because of them. If they don't correct the mistakes of 2013 I know I almost certainly won't buy the game and like @dangerousbrian0 I am sure there are others that'll give up on the series as well.

HUD that doesn't kill my precious plasma-TV. Hardcore F1 gaming session -> P1 stuck on corner of the screen for weeks.

I think that the graphics at the left side of the screen should show what position each driver is in but only using the first 3 letters of the drivers last name and the ability to enable the safety car on the race options menu
