GRID AUTOSPORT will not run in Full-screen
Mcstig replied to rubberfer's topic in Technical Assistance
Hi there, I have the same problem. I just won't go to Full Screen mode no matter what I do. I am running a Full HD resolution, but resolution is not an issue since you cannot select a higher resolution than your monitor can support. Codemasters please help us!!! I have seen people with this problem all over the internet. Cheers -
Tbh I wish smart phones were still like that, makes it easier to keep the screen in good condition. I know that makes no sense as they don't have buttons anymore but still.

Nokia 5110, with Snake game! My parents bought me it, so it wasn't particularly desired, or anything! After that, I've only ever owned these: - Nokia N70 - colour screen = woo - Sony Xperia Play = PlayStation games on my phone! - Sony Xperia Z1 = current one, but already was superceded twice in 1 year by the Z2 and Z3! Not had many phones really, and still have all of them at home, except for the Play (which I donated to a family member and it then got broken :( )

But not a huge differance in performance, I already explained why.... ;) True enough, IOS needs less RAM and a less powerful CPU. Doesn't explain why a phone that's £60 more expensive has a smaller screen with a lower resolution and lower pixel density, and why it has a completely inferior camera ;)
-
It's definitely there, on the Pause menu during a race (to see last few seconds) and on the Back button to replay the whole race at the end, when the race results screen is shown. (Only reason I can think it might not be would be if you didn't have enough free disk space to save the replay, but I have no idea whether that really happens...)

The same reason you buy Nvidia over AMD, not necessarily the fastest but they are the best. My IPhone doesn't bend, and like I said the specs are lower but perform better than Andriods with higher specs. Pretty much all new cars support IPhones but not Android, the reason being Andriod is so fragmented compared to iOS. And Im not talking about just being able to play music via Bluetooth as most cars can do that, I'm on about being able to completly control my phone using my cars screen. Im not sure why it infuriates you that people buy IPhones, 1 it's got nothing to do with you, 2 it doesn't affect you in anyway and 3, you pay a lot more for say GTX 980 compared to AMD 290x yet there's not much between them. It's the same with Intel CPUs, an i5 quad core is faster than an AMD 6 core. Its also commonly known that Andriod is a resource hog, so needs higher specs which also means a larger battery to power the higher specs. Again I couldn't care less what others like, it's not up to me to say or judge what others buy. It's just seems to be what people like to do, people hate on Apple like they do with Xbox One, yet you bought that which costs more than the more powerful PS4 ;) Anyway let's end this now as it'll just go around in circles, you like what you like and that's fine. I bashed Apple for ages until I actually bought the IPad Air and found that I really like it. Edit: I forget to say, there's many things you can change on Apple products without rooting, I told you this a while back. I'm not sure why it's matters though, if something works so great without modding it why change it?

Maybe not in your VW Golf, but other cars do support Android phones ;) And sure, IOS is well optimised, but I don't imagine it's hard to do when the software is so stupidly basic. Customisation on an iPhone is changing the wallpaper, customisation on Android is installing completely modded version which give you the freedom to change absolutely everything to the way you want. And even an unrooted Android device has different launchers for huge amounts of customisation. As far as I'm aware, none of that is possible with a crApple device :p Plus, lets compare the iPhone 6 with a Sony Xperia Z3, seeing as both are the current flagships for each brand. iPhone 6 Z3 Screen size: 4.7" 5.2" Resolution: 1334x750 1920x1080 CPU: 1.4Ghz Dual Core 2.5Ghz Quad core RAM: 1GB 3GB Storage: 16GB, 64GB, 128GB, No SD 16GB, 32GB, SD Card up to 128GB Battery: 1810 mAh 3100 mAh Camera: 8MP, 1080p vid 20.7MP, 4K vid F. Camera: 1.2MP 720p vid 2.2MP 1080p vid Bends: Yes No Fappening: Yes No Cheapest Price: £539 £479 Why pay more for a device that is technologically inferior, and doesn't give you any freedom with the software? The technology in an iPhone 6 was good in 2010/2011, but we're in 2015, and it infuriates me that people still bum Apple even thought they're being completely ripped off and paying through the arse for a name that's just a fad.

I have an IPhone and have never been on Instagram, nor do I know what it is. I did say 'most' :p Though why you have an iPhone I have no idea, woulda thought Android would suit you way more! Nope, I did have everything Andriod but lots of stuff comes out for IOS first and then Andriod later. My car can interact with my phone, like being able to change songs using the media system screen. With Andriod that wasn't supported with my VW Golf, so you need to use the phone which is illegal while driving ;) As an OS Andriod isn't optimized as well as IOS. You can have much higher specs with an Andriod phone, and it only performs the same as an IPhone. Apps like Face Time are also awesome, so I can video call my mate that lives in Austria for free :) Not saying one is better than the other as both have pros & cons, but for me IOS is a lot better, so I wouldn't say to anyone they're stupid for buying one over the other like you :p

How do we counter cyber bullies on grid autosport?
SirDriftalots replied to D4ZZL4R's topic in General Discussion
Wether in the virtual world, or the real world- People are jerks. you need to get over it and stop whining. as mentioned above, if you're a little too sensitive for a few bad words, I suggest using the 'mute' button on the Online lobby screen. If you feel that you're entitled to random people on the internet giving you the respect you so obviously deserve, maybe you should disconnect all your online devices. I am deeply scared for a world where over sensitive people cry to the authorities about what a random jerk said/did to them on an online racing game. Or, Maybe you can just get your Mummy to call their Mummy and tell them to play fair, because you're a very special snowflake who needs to have everything his own way. Maybe you should take these grievances somewhere like Tumbler, were you'll find someone to stroke your victim status. -
All of the cars look better this year in my opinion, but the Mercedes is the only one I would call good looking. The Lotus is a bit boxy and odd, The Williams is hideous, the RBR nose isn't any better than the Williams, Force India isn't too bad, and the Ferrari, Sauber and McLaren aren't ugly but just look silly with their noses that go on for ever. Nowhere near as bad as last year on the whole but I don't want any of them printed on my wall, or even screen saver

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games
joepineapples replied to MastaVonBlasta's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Going to take a few years yet to get through the entire customer base at this rate ;). Is this game really in such an early state, that they can't show anything........oh wait. Would a few teaser screen-shots of a few cars on tracks really give anything away to the competition(?). -
1.) Would love to see classic cars with drivers and classic tracks back. 2.) Better team radio, I think everyone is crying out for that. We want them to be tactically aware of situations like if there has been an accident and the safety car may be deployed so pit in and if the cars behind are pitting in and when we should pit in etc. 3.) Bring back race commentary it makes it interesting and have recognised commentators no random people also have the option to turn it on and off for those who don't want it. 4.) Also the thing that has bugged me is you can't check how far ahead you are of certain cars for example if I'm leading the race and 2nd place pits I can't keep track of how far he is behind and if he is catching me, so I can't tell if he's catching me up 2 seconds a lap or whether he's stuck behind traffic. So I would welcome a feature which lets me highlight cars I want to be tracked and told what the gap is by team radio and,if the cars behind me and ahead are rivals or on different strategies and, are off not much threat. You could have running live times at the bottom of the screen of the driver showing what the gap behind each car from the leader and who has retired from the race and how many pit stops the cars have made. 5.) The use of safety cars is pretty limited would love to see it come out more often but not too often. At the moment I haven't seen much of the safety car in recent F1 titles in real life its out for any crash which leaves wreckage on track also when it rains really heavy would love to see that. 6.) Race marshals cleaning the track of debris under safety car and use of cranes to lift cars off the track and out of the race under safety car 7.) Formation laps and you have to complete a set of instructions by team engineer like work front or rear tires. Look after tyres clutch bite points etc if not completed the consequence being you will have a slower start off the line. Have the option to turn on or off. 8.) Manuel starts and pit stops and manually putting on and taking off pit limiter when coming in the pits. You have control of turning the car into the pit box and garage. Have assist levels like fully on medium or off like for braking and steering. Brings control back to the players they have more to do and worry about other than just going around the track. Also let drivers have the option to drive onto the grid and not skip it through a cutscene. Give option to the player to turn off and on. 9.) More mechanical failures, tyre punctures, random car problems etc. not enough at the moment every car feels too reliable which isn't the case. 10.) More realistic damage break suspensions, snap wish bones on the car constant little contacts leads to steering problems or broken wheel or front wing failures punctures breaking of wing emplates. Have options for level of severity of damage like cosmetic minor heavy and realistic. 11.) Career mode - Bring in the feature of doing pre season testing around Jerez and Bahrain to secure a seat or do young drivers programme around Abu Dhabi and earn a seat and use pre season testing as a way to improve a terrible car. 12.) Career mode - Driver transfers shuffle the pack make teams good one year and either maintain position go slower or become top team. Like make Ferrari best again or Williams best again and Mercedes and Red Bull slip down the times or vice versa also mentions for Mclaren and Lotus to be competitive again shuffe the pack so you don't know whether leaving the team that is third in the championship to go to someone who is first isn't guaranteed success. Make R&D more effective and if your car isn't competitive enough to challenge for the title to scrap this years car development for next year's car which gives slight advantage to them for next season. 13.) After race celebrations and cockpit celebrations. Need this feature back to show drivers emotion. Also make celebrations more realistic I highly doubt Raikkonen would jump around in the air and celebrate he is more cool and relaxed maybe a fist pump or two and celebrate with the team with hand shakes or hugs ok maybe when he wins the title have more of a celebration where he punches the air more and becomes more emotional. Again do it with all drivers have signature celebrations after winning. I know not all of them have won a race on the grid but make celebrations for those who haven't won who win like what they would do if they did. Podium celebrations 1st person view of receiving the trophy looking down on the supporters and your team. Imagine winning in Monza as a Ferrari driver and receiving the trophy in 1st person view looking at the supporters and team it would be special. Also have champagne celebration in 1st person view with you being able to control who you spray it on. Drivers or team person who picks up constructors trophy or on the crowd and the team below. The spray of the champagne or rose water blurring vision. Podium interviews taking place by different people. 14.) Interviews after the race asking a variety of questions not the same scripted stuff, take part in interviews from David Coulthard, Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert, Damon Hill, Eddie Jordan and David Croft. Different people everytime or couple after a race. 15.) Career mode - personalisation to your character more range and variety of helmets and let you create your own. Let you choose your car number. I would love to see the above happen, hope people agree with me. I have added people's ideas in this and other threads which I agree with and hope to see in the future F1 games on PS4 and Xbox One. If I have any other recommendations I will try to post. Would love to hear feedback and opinions from the F1 fans community on my ideas. I sincerely hope Codemasters read this. Apologies for any spelling mistakes. I have reposted my comments from another discussion on to this one to gain some feedback and hope Codemasters may see it and use some of the ideas for F1 2015 on PS4 and Xbox One

It's a fair few games, though this one's the worst. One of the reasons some people have problems with this game is the unusable menus which need moving onto the central monitor by adding following lines to the .ini file:- FE_SCREEN_HEIGHT = 1080FE_SCREEN_LEFT = 1987FE_SCREEN_TOP = 0FE_SCREEN_WIDTH = 1987 where 1987 = bezel adjusted single screen width. I will try other driver, thanks Hughesy.

Anyone know what's going on here? Happens in-game, but mainly on trasitions to cut-scenes etc and often on menus. See towards end of video, bottom half screen goes black. (3-monitor (with drivers), GTX970, i7, 16GB). Running low-ish graphics but at 60fps. Have tried everything with V-sync etc. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kb4-NEzeE-g&list=UUYtAiO4eqv5NgvtCPNBSNYQ

DiRTy Gossip about DIRT Rally Games
VirtuaIceMan replied to MastaVonBlasta's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
I think a multiplayer mode would be to have one player driving and the other reading/flipping pacenotes on their screen and shouting them out hehe... the pad could even shake around the same as how the car's handling perhaps... -
I have Afterburner for that mate. I have every bit of info on Screen, on my whole system when I play games. Already had two games use 4GB. Shadow of Mordor being one of them ;) It's mainly becasue consoles have unified ram, so PC ports try to use just Vram instead of using that and Ram. 4GB is plenty if games are optimised properly, sadly that doesn't happen all the time.
-
How can you not see the dragon and MSI logo lit up in white? Must be blind or have your screen set very dark... :# I do have a spare one lying about somewhere lol my house is like a PC museum :o. Already overclocked it, boost clock is at 1473mhz at the moment :D Getting about 20-30fps higher than my 780 so not too bad. That's only in DAI, might be higher in other games. The fans are at 90% at the moment and I still can't hear them, big improvement over the last twin frozr.
-
Yeah, I dont think any of the "ranked" matches have anyone searching in there anymore. I was playing it in 2007 when it was a new game, so there will have been lots more players around. I still have friends that play it religiously. Great game, weather, LOADS of tracks as you say, mirrors and bikes. If only they would make PGR5 for Xbox One. Lucid Games studios (a lot of old Bizarre creations team - PGR makers) made a tablet game called 2k Racers, it fooled many people with its screen shots, as it looks sooooooooooo much like a PGR5. But sadly its on a tablet, and I will never get to play it. I dont want a tablet, nor do I want to use a tablet as a steering wheel LOL.
-
I never said I wanted AMD if you look, I just said it'll be faster :p It's not going to be a huge difference but it will be noticeable compared to my 780. The main reason is because I play at 1440p, it has to last atleast two years. There's no point having a 1440p screen but having to play at 1080p. I still think it's a tad overpriced, but I always like having the best, which this is at the moment. And trust me they did hold back on the Vram, a 6-8GB version will come out soon (just like the 780) but as I don't use high amounts of AA, four should be enough. Its going to come on Tuesday, and Scan had free next day delivery. o:) And really it only feels like I'm spending £200, as the rest I'd already used to buy a wheel. (If you get what I mean) I'm hoping it still comes with a free game, as it doesn't show that it does. I could then get AC Unity for free as I have the rest of the games on offer, as I refuse to pay for AC becasue of all the problems it has.

OK, first off…I do hope some news (or an open beta) is coming soon…if so, disregard most of what’s below. If not... I check this forum almost daily in hopes that there will be ANYTHING regarding a Dirt 4 release. All I can tell is that there is definitely a Dirt 4 in the works and seems to be quite good as those who've seen/played it are quite pleased with it and those involved in the development are very proud of it. Lee (justbiglee) you seem like a great guy with an impossible job, but for the life of me I can't understand Codemasters' marketing strategy. Let's go!! Beat the drum; screenshots, videos...an official announcement that the freaking thing even exists...anything! It's been waaaaaaay too long since Dirt 3. I'm a PC guy with a cockpit and triple screen setup, I feel like I’ve got a pretty good gauge of what’s going on with this genre. I check all the popular sim news sites like ISR, VirtualR, bsimracing...come on, put some news out. Dirt 4 should be blowing its own horn much more than you guys are doing. I've read Lee's explanations of how his hands are tied here and he can't say anything. That's the weirdest and most contradictory means of advertising a game I've ever seen! It makes no sense at all!?! How does saying NOTHING about the thing you’re so proud of do anything at all for future sales? You guys have touted this title as being a return to pure rallying and less of the arcade stuff, so why not let the sim racing community know what you’re up to?! Even if you’re not interested in trying to win back the “sim snobs”, most of which have completely written Codies off, you could at least get something out that would be seen by the average gamer. In these modern times of open betas and companies reaching out to their audiences a la Project Cars or Assetto Corsa, where complete and total transparency is the new norm, Codemasters’ approach is a complete anachronism and you’re coming off as a company out of touch with its own fan base. Let’s face it, Codemasters could use some positive PR…get it going for Gawd’s sake. Anyway, sorry for the rant, just looking forward to Dirt 4’s eventual release one of these years. As far as suggestions…how about anything…anything…at…all; a picture…a video…a list of tracks…a list of cars…a description of content…an open beta…a demo…anything…just anything! As far as game suggestions, how about real rally stages in modern and historic cars? Another thing, how about put a GPS on a real rally car while it runs the real world WRC stages and capture all the data from the stages and put that in the game? Every turn and every jump and every elevation change. Mount some GoPro cameras on the car and capture the scenery and feel with the spectators and crowds that surround the stages…can’t get much more realistic than that. Tailor the game to what the player wants…casual gamer gets shorter stages with relaxed handling and the hardcore crowd gets what they want too…long narrow stages with realistic handling. Richard Burns Rally with the modern insane graphics that you guys are capable of. Ok…rant over. Love most of everything in the Dirt series (except gymkhana) and am really looking forward to the next iteration…hence the passionate rant. Have a great weekend all.

Fist off... This is easily one of the best threads on the forum, I figured the place where I actually live is rubbish and thought it might be interesting telling you about where Codemasters is. Southam is a tiny market town in Warwickshire, if any of you have seen the movie Hot Fuzz it's basically that. I'm not joking, the headline on the local paper once read "Gang of Youths Slash Compost Bags" Back in the medieval era the town had its own currency because regular English currency was too high in value. During the English Civil War Charles the 1st used it to make coins to pay his troops. This important and historical building is now a pub. Locals also claim that the very first battle of the English Civil war took place here on the 23rd August 1642, each year around the same time there is a big reenactment and the whole town has a big ol' medieval party. The town's other claim to fame and water supply "The Holy Well" is a listed building and Ancient monument which puts in the same catagory as the pyramids (I could be making that last bit up up). It was first recorded in the year 998, it was used by local monks and for hundreds of years as the towns main water supply. Skip forward a few hundred years and Southam was also the site of the creatively named RAF Southam during the second world war . It served as a training base for pilots and the sky would usually be filled with the sound of Tiger Moths. Following the war not much happens in the sleepy town but then in 1977 an 11 year old British born lad by the name of David Darling begins to learn programming with his older brother Richard while living in Canada. Fast forward a few years and another two brothers known as The Oliver Twins discover computing via their dad's friends Apple II computer. In 1982 the Darling Brothers were living in Somerset and making their own games under the label Galactic Software despite a very formal warning from one of David's teachers describing game programming as "a waste of time". The following year in 1983 the Oliver Twins win a competition in Computer and Video Games Magazine (now cvg.com) winning them 50 quid for their first published game called Road Runner. (Which was a game you had to type in yourself - older folk will know what I'm talking about here) Then in 1986 after breaking up with Mastertronic (their old publisher) The Darlings Establish Codemasters with the help of their father Jim at his farm in Southam working out of the stables. The first game they released was BMX simulator and you can play it online here The Darlings eventually meet the Oliver Twins at a trade show and offered them 10p per copy for their next game claiming they could shift 100,000 copies. The Olivers take them up on their offer and create Super Robin Hood which goes straight to number one in the charts and was one of the first times speech was ever used in a videogame - they used their mum as the voice of Maid Marian during a loading screen, Following their first smash hit the team work together on Dizzy the Egg, Grand Prix Simulator and loads of others. As we start to get into the 90's the pair of brothers eventually go their separate ways. Codemasters under the Darling Brothers continues to grow with the release of the Game Genie, and games like Micro Machines through the early 90's. And then we get to 1997 and I suppose what many of you guys know as the modern day Codemasters with the release of ToCA Touring Cars and Colin McRae Rally in 1998. These games eventually went on to become the GRID and DiRT that you all know and love now with the Official Formula 1 game being added to our trinity of titles much later in 2009. The Darling Brothers eventually sold Codemasters and moved on to their own things, David now heads up a mobile app studio in nearby Leamington while the Oliver Twins stayed local and are heading up a new game studio called Radient Worlds. Codemasters is still in the same place it always was on that farm in sleepy Southam, we may have outgrown the stables but dad still lives next door. As for what's next..? Well we'll just have to see. We're looking forward to be finally hitting next gen with the release of F1 2015 later this year and if you've been keeping an eye on the DiRT forum you'll know its no secret that the DiRT Team are up to something (and I honestly hand on heart believe that it just might be the best thing we've ever done). Times are changing in the games industry, we've gone from getting some code printed in a magazine and imputting it yourself to live services that let you play with friends all over the world. Those games that were on tape which you ordered from the back of a magazine and spent half a Saturday trying to load you can now play in your web browser - instantly. Even now, putting something on disc and in a box on a shelf isn't enough anymore, games needing to be living and breathing entities and being brutally honest we've got some catching up to do haven't we? Thanks for sticking with us guys, I know you don't hear from them often (and maybe that needs to change) but I know it means a lot to the people actually making the games knowing you're here. There you have it, less of where I live but this is where I work and its far more interesting.

Just uploading a video of me driving (badly) in thunderstorm on Project Cars at night, the track is Silverstone. I'll post it when it's done but it's taking a while. Recorded it at 1080p 60fps, I would've done it at 1440p but shadow play only does it at 30fps. Doesn't really matter though as I'm not sure anyone else here has a 1440p screen. Pcars has come a really long way now, I'd say the physics are more realistic than AC now (or on par) and so is the FFB which is miles better. Nobody can say it's not a sim once they watch this video (once it finishes uploading) as you'll see, I have pretty much zero traction. The graphics are mind blowing, rain effects and night racing are awesome.

I have a question that I've so far been unable to figure out myself... There's a program on my PC that runs at startup, and I want it to, but it always opens a window and I have to close it every time I boot up. Is there any way to keep it running as a startup program but stop it from always popping up on screen?
