Touring Car Legends Download Problem (Xbox)

And if you ever find a lobby that uses them (unlikely) you'll most likely end up staring at a frozen screen anyway. -

That is normally true yes, but as I said, miss matches do happen, especially if for some reason a patch hasn't reached your part of the world yet. It's also up to the developers themselves on PC and while it's normally the case where you need the same version it's not a 100% guaranteed thing. For those effected by freezing, if you could let me know the following that would be great: Platform: (If different from 360)Region:Online or offline: "Does it effect offline play for you as well as online?)Environment:Vehicle:Race type:Number of players in session:Exact point of crash (what was on screen):How long you've been playing before the crash: The team are currently investigating and this info will help us pinpoint the exact cause.

I guess also that 2015 wont be for the more advanced player if they are making a super easy mode in 2014. Id like to see a more in depth car setup screen.
-
If you go to the screen where you turn assists on & off you can see that an option is now there to pick whether or not you want to use a clutch while drag racing.
-
Same problem here. Freeze ups on the entrants screen prior to an online race. It's a joke. It was playable before yesterday. Getting bored with waiting for this game to fulfill it's potential now. The fact that I can race offline around Donington in a classic touring car race is the only thing stopping the thing going on Ebay.

Was that freeze while you were downloading something in any way realated to GAS? Like a freeze from the main Xbox main menu screen? Or was it within.the GAS game itself? I am just wondering if this was a XBL problem? I was trying to download a gamer picture that had nothing to do with GAS. I've also spoken to a couple of other players this evening & they had probs, one was watch a film when they got a freeeze.
-
I just tried to play some and I did try to clear my cache. After. I cleared my cache and started GAS it did not prompt me to download the latest update. And I played some and the bad news is I played some Touring with no problems until it turned into a full lobby. Then at the load screen it came up that no connection could be found. I don't know if this is a XBL problem or it is a result of the patch. So then after that I went to a Custom Lobby to try a race and then I got a full on lock up. So I just quit and stopped playing altogether. I don't if the problem is with the latest update, or if it is a XBL problem. I guess when the PS3 update is live we will find out. Or if someone else plays another Xbox game where problems are rarre, and if they have no problems then the freezes/kicks may go to the updates fault.

@Loore posted patch notes at the top of this page. I did not find this on my own. I overheard somebody else talking about this. Anyway, if you look at your "driving aids screen. You can see an option to use a clutch for drag racing only. So that is what the drag race portion of the update. I remember when an update/patch came out for BF3 it caused a freezing issue and then I heard that you should delete the prior update and clear your cache. I tried that and low & behold no problems with freezing. So maybe this will work on GAS too? I will try this in about an hour or so.

@Hughesy @sjsharp2010 I forget to mention a few things about Alien Isolation last night... The AA is non-existent, and trying to force it on through Nvidia Control Panel doesn't seem to work at all. It's like you change the settings on the exe file, then it disappears. Mine kept defaulting back to BF3 and the changes I had made to AI did nothing. The game settings do show AA, but it barely makes a difference. I also tried it with DSR at every resolution offered, and it didn't matter which I used, I had screen tear and the game ended up being pretty jerky, and it even felt as though it introduced lag into my controller. In the end, running it at 1080p pegged at 144fps was the only way I could get it to run smoothly. And the last issue, all the cut scenes in the game are pretty shoddy. They almost look as if they were recorded on an Xbox 360, stuttering and all, then just dumped into the game. They can be pretty jarring when you're walking around an impressive looking environment, then a cut scene kicks in and it looks awful. Just a heads up on those things, otherwise it's still a really good game.

Yes many thanks for the 500K :) Unfortunately as @FOSTBITTEN has said a lot of people were experiencing freezing issues and disconnects on xbox last night. It only happened to me once but it happened to a couple of my friends 3 or 4 times and I noticed other people were getting listed as disconnected in the race results screen.

Have been desperate to get reviews of FH2 and Driveclub to try to make my mind up about which console to get. Frankly the fanboy whining doesn't do much for me. I reckon a game will be pretty much as good at 900p vs. 1080p. For me the game exclusives and their gameplay dominate the choice. I think 60fps @ 1080p will become a standard on both platforms eventually. Of the exclusives, I never played halo or had a 360, so the master chief collection looks good value. Plus FH2 looks to be much better than driveclub. However much titles like pcars might be slightly better on the ps4 vs the xbox, I think being able to play FH2 trumps that. So it looks like xbone it is ! Trust me you wouldn't regret it. I'm primary a PC gamer but have both the X1 & PS4. Really the performance of the PS4 isn't much and wouldn't be noticeable to most people. I have a high end PC and play at 1440p, yet I don't find the X1 games ugly and have yet to find a game on PS4 that looks better really (unless you look really really closely) but I'd rather just play and have fun gaming. When some say "the ps4 is 50% more powerful) it doesn't mean they look 50% better. Trust me you will love Horizon 2 if you get it, and I also second what Dave said. Would love an extra player to play Destiny with unless that's not your sort of game. :) @RevolvingPrawn Read the messages I've sent you. :p Thanks. I can see how if you have the PC the move up to 1440 is a lot more signifcant. That said what you dont have you don't miss, and my crappy 20" screen (for the moment) wouldn't do that justice.. I think I will get PC as well at some point - I have some very powerful PCs at work I can use, but for me the motivation is more on the modding stuff than the performance increase. it looks like to me that if you are seriously into a game the modding gives it a whole new life. Yes I will look into destiny. Played the COD games a fair bit, not so bad at them but never got into online though.

Care to clarify what minimum and recommened actually mean? I mean, is recommend specs the requirement for a full 60fps at 1080P max settings? or 1440P? Maybe just High settings, or 30fps, who knows. Also, its recommend that you have an AMD HD6000 series, or Nvidia 500 series card, so does that include something like, for example a GeForce 510, or Radeon HD6450? Of course not, but they still fit into the description. I think Codies really need to clarify. Would imagine 1080 as I think most game at that level as you can only game at 1440 or higher if you're running through a specialized monitor. usually only PC geeks/serious PC gamers tend to buy those. Most like myself I think game through a standard screen that does 1080p

I didn't make my question clear. I didn't mean the racing screen, I meant the screens for the setup areas before the racing.
-
It doesn't make sense to use a mouse when you play with a wheel or a gamepad. I'm glad they didn't put the mouse pointer on the interface screen.
-
It could be that the weather wasn't inhibiting it as they started the race, but when that new front rolled in the situation changed Entirely possible. I didn't see the radars at the beginning, just saw what was on-screen, and it looked just as bad at the beginning as it did when they red flagged the race at the end.

Ah man that's pretty damn cheeky. Normally Afterburner would be the first thing I would think to use, but using it on my TV PC a few months ago to lower the GPU fan speeds, it completely effed up the rest of the system. Only figured it out after uninstalling it and everything being perfect after that, so I haven't used it since. @sjsharp2010 Read the rest of my posts :p It was at idling at 30c earlier, even after gaming. But now, even after giving the system time to cool down, it's boots up and is straight to 36c, no matter what I do. I'm not doing anything different to earlier, yet it's now 6c higher and I don't know why. @Hughesy Sweet! Just figured out that DSR works on desktop too :D Currently rocking the same res as you. How the hell can you see writing on the screen? ;)

Steering Wheel in Williams (F1 2014)
iceman153 replied to Mateusz28496's topic in General Discussion
Yup.. at least it doesn't have the big LCD screen anymore, they just didn't move the LED's off the wheel. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard to just copy the redbull... apparently it is! -
Sound's like you are either braking to late which is forcing you wide or you are braking to much then locking the wheels up. Try to just do laps at first and not worry about your pace compared with AI or friends, the moment I try to do a fast lap I'm slow if you know what I mean (push to much) Try to think that the corner starts as soon as you apply the brakes as if your to early you will loose time through corner speed but if your to late you will miss the apex then loose time waiting to get on the throttle. The trick to braking late is applying 100% pressure to begin with then as you come down the gears keep release pressure slightly from 4th-3rd gear as this will prevent the wheels locking up and if you do it should only be a minor 1 so wont loose to much time. If you can get the braking right the rest will come good in time :) The way id say to practice is turn all assists off as you never find the limit with abs and tc, go to gp mode (TT has loads of grip so not good imo to learn the grip) only do practice sessions and spend the hour finding where you need to brake for each corner. A good guide is looking at the 150, 100, 50 braking meter board, example brake at the 100m board if you run wide next time brake approx 105m and so on untill you nail the apex of the corner. The replay system comes in handy as you can watch when you brake and how that allowed you to take the corner. I know I might sound abit rude now but do you have a rough idea of where you need to brake and what gear to be in for the tracks? only reason I ask is if you dont it will def help just to have a look at the hotlap vids that are on the garage screen as they will give you a good starting point, even better if you watch the real onboards on youtube and such! Soz bout long post but I find it hard explaining things in little sentences lol!

I'm not really sure why, it just made me feel ill. I wouldn't know about screen tear as I always use Vsync. It's all personal to what you like. I mean I can still play at 1080p or lower otherwise I wouldn't have an X1/ps4 but if I play games on PC at that they look ugly (ish) compared to 1440p, plus I don't have to use AA really. When does your 980 come bud? I probably would've bought one if I didn't buy the PS4 and only the X1. Now I don't have a custom waterloop it won't cost me so much to upgrade which is good. I'm just waiting for Shadow of mordor to download, don't think it'll be ready until midnight though as its 34GB :# My two SSD's are going to get full quick with the size of the games now... I do get what you mean :p It's almost like it's too smooth and it throws your brain off balance a bit, but you do eventually get used to it, and for me now seeing anything below 50fps or so seems a little stuttery. The 980 should be here Friday morning :) Could have had it today, but I wasn't home and I won't trust my neighbours with something like that. I'm not too worried about games looking a bit ugly at 1080p now though, I'll be testing the DSR/SRT on the 980 when it's in :D And it's a shame you bought the PS4 dude, but I'm glad you bought your X1! It's awesome having someone to game with on Destiny :) Ah yea, you won't have to buy a new waterblock for your next GPU right? How much did it cost you for just that part? And what size SSD's? I keep seeing 512GB ones for around £150, and they keep tempting me :p But I will hold out this time! The waterblocks were £70+. I have two 256GB SSD's, they make a massive differnce to a PC, from boot times to general usage and games load amazingly quick compared to a HDD. Btw my brain works in mysterious ways lol I can see things on monitors that others can't. Because of the way lcd/led monitors are lit I can see flickering black sort of colour in motion. I can't remember the term but someone explained it to me on a tech website and suggested getting this Dell 1440p ips monitor and now it's fine, which means I don't strain my eyes. IPS monitors work differently to LCD/LED which means I don't see it. I'm not even sure if there are good ips 1440p monitors above 60hz as I didn't see any when I bought this one, but it doesn't bother me as I love my current one and don't see the need to go above 60fps.
