  1. Some cars have better mirrors than others.  When you use the "unblurred cockpit mod"  in some cars you can already see the cars behind in the mirrors, in other cars the mirror has no working function at all. Very much looking forward to mod that fixes all mirrors. I spend a couple of hours searching through the game files, but i could not find a way to fix them. Hope the mod releases fast and the performance drop is not too big:) The cockpit view feels VERY unfinished. Guys with joysticks on single screen setups might not notice this, but the headcam position is very different for car to car. Sometimes you're far away and have a very small steering wheel, somethimes you're too close to the dashboard and the steering wheel looks gigantic. This bugs me as hell. ~X( So i change the cameras.xml setting per car as i progress in the game, to the correct FOV / cam position on my rig. Takes A LOT of time, but in the end it's more satisfying.For editing the cameras.xml i use a laptop and edit files on the fly through the network connection. This way i do not have to exit the game everytime, just re-enter the championship. Codemaster did great job with adding a single configuration file in which triple screen users can edit the FOV for all cars at the same time, too bad they REALLY screwed up the camera positions in a lot of cars. Like the blur in the cockpits and the mirros this is something they should fix.
  2. In regards to the video feed in the second screen when playing online, does it only show the one camera angle? I have noticed in single player the varying cameras are used and not the player view like in online races.
  3. Pitstops would be nice, but they would have to redraw all the tracks, at least the street circuits and the races would have to be much longer than 3-5 laps. I run x5 length in career mode, but I would love to have a 12hr endurance race to split between me and an AI teammate.

    Q's - split times and other HUD

    Thanks everyone for your answers. So are the split times relative to MY previous sector times from prior laps or are they relative to the other competitors sector times? Similarly, Is the position rank ("1st", "2nd" ect) my sector time relative to all the other competitors sector times? Ie "1st" would mean I'm the fastest of all competitors for that sector?

    GRID Autosport Feedback

    Hey guys, great game, couple of tiny things that I feel are needed Single Player: -A race confirm message asking if you are sure you want to start the race (for when you do not practice or qualify, lost count how many times I've accidentally hit Race when I meant to go into practice to try a tune setup) - XP bonus for race length being longer in difficulty. - PIT STOPS and drive through penalties. Kinda shocked this isn't already in, especially endurance. If animation for pitting is a concern just lock the camera to dash camera for the stop. - Custom team in Career, nobody wants the ultimate goal of racing for Nub Team Ravenwest, we all want to destroy them in team standings and make them lose all their sponsors. - Demolition derby in career mode / custom cup Multi Player: - Get rid of the reversed tracks in playlists, NO one wants to race Mount Panorama, Spa Francochamp, etc in reverse yet whenever it comes up in the vote options more often than not they are the reversed courses. - Playlists that disable assists and flashbacks - in playlists Make the starting grid off previous race result reversed instead of points, seems a little ridiculous the best player always starts in poll with a 200 point lead when newcomers to online and the session always have to start in the back. - For custom cup online make the starting grid apply to the AI drivers as well -For custom cup allow multiple disciplines in a cup, would be nice to throw some demolition derby in the same cup with touring etc - Demolition derby playlist please - Custom livery for derby cars - Team Racing - On the vote screen display the class of cars that will be used. A lot of us wouldn't vote to race a specfic track because it would be mini cup probably got a thousand more ideas but these are my suggestions for now

    GRID Autosport Bugs Thread

    Only glitch so far that I think I've found, apart from constantly going from full screen to not full screen for no apparent reason, is the sounds of the Holden VE Ute (and probably Ford Ute too). Once you get to about 500'ish RPMs from the limiter, it sounds like the pistons are knocking all over the place. Almost like the sound engine is applying the limiter sounds at the wrong RPM. edit; ignoring that the Utes sound like German V8s too... :P

    GRID Autosport Feedback

    Having played both GRID and GRID 2, I will add my comments to this thread. The vehicle physics are better than both GRID and GRID 2. They feel far better and more realistic than GRID 2 and encourage proper racing lines, etc. The physics are also better than the first GRID; with traction control off, you're able to feel how much traction you have and use power to fix your direction whereas in the first GRID, turning traction control off just seemed to make you spin out a lot. The career mode is much better than GRID 2. It's very well done and I enjoy how the disciplines are split. Events are unique enough. However, I enjoyed owning my own team in GRID, using my own livery, making money, buying cars, hiring my own teammate, and earning sponsorships. GRID's racing world felt rather alive in that drivers and teams would move through the ranks every season, and Ravenwest Motorsport wasn't present in every event. It feels a bit odd in GRID Autosport to move through the different series, seasons, and disciplines only to find the same teams in all of them. It's a different approach certainly. I would like it more if I felt like I was moving up through "feeder series" into bigger events, such as going from CAT C to CAT B to CAT A with each having different teams and different tracks (as in, CAT A would use full GP circuits and CAT C would use smaller circuits.) Also, it would be nice to have the Race Engineer to help tune the car in practice. It would make practice more worthwhile. The AI are still varied and not too predictable, just like in GRID. It makes the game more exciting when they take differing lines or spin without player input. However, this time around it seems like the AI really don't like to race as clean as they did in GRID. They like to hit me when I'm trying to stay clean at the start of the race or in a turn when they're faster than me, which is another point I'd like to bring up. It might just be me, but it seems like that on most circuits, the AI are poor at a section of track I seem to be good at and I gain time easily, but on other sections of track it's like they take impossibly difficult lines and will even hit me. This can be seen best at Brands Hatch GP on Endurance GT Group 2. I also have some gripes with Endurance Racing in GRID Autosport. I think fuel use and pitting should be options. It feels strange to have tire wear but not fuel consumption. I know Codemasters can do this well, as I've seen it in the F1 games! I also feel like the field should have to complete the final lap when the time runs out. Like in the first GRID, it would add a lot of realism to have several classes on-track at the same time. I think this could be done next-gen with more AI, so please consider it. This also goes back to having the feeling of moving through series, as in the first GRID we had real GT2 through LMP1 teams such as Oreca, Multimac, Audi, etc. There should also be at least 2 cars to choose from in each class. I'm mainly referring to Endurance GT Ultimate. As far as Online goes, I think it's mostly very well done, so I will only post the gripes I have about it. Some of the cars, especially the Cup cars such as the Shelby Daytona, are outrageously expensive, especially for a car to be used in a one-make race. I wouldn't complain about, say, a hypercar being 1.5 million dollars, but some are little ridiculous. Also, I think the one-make cups should only repeat one time as opposed to the normal series repeating twice. For example, online Endurance should do two GT Group 1 races, then one Mazda 787B cup as a break, and then two GT Group 2 races. Also, I don't know if anyone's noticed, but the flag displayed in-game reflects your single player driver rather than your IP, like GRID and unlike GRID 2. That means that if I want to have a little fun in single player and make a fictional driver, I will show up as Japanese when I am actually from the United States. I also think I should be able to copy liveries from car to car. I can't comment on racing wheels because I use a controller. Kudos for having fully customizable controls, and thanks for making one of the most fun racing games on PS3 (and the best one online.)

    on two occasions, i have been in an online server, touring class c and after the race has finished, the results screen becomes a permanent feature with no way out, apart from 'quit' On both occasions, static ai cars were seen on the starting grid...like afk'ers.

    Some quick constructive feedback here. The second screen feature on the PC is excellent, but the map and markings for your and other cars on it aren't easy to see.  Can these be made bigger, and perhaps different colours, so it is easy to glance over while racing? Thanks,Ian

    You can test and tune a loaner car in "practice" in Custom Cup on the singleplayer side but not the multi-player side. Why they chose to split the MP and SP experience and the yank half of the features (like feedback from engineer, practice, qualifying, tuning, upgrades to car, etc., etc.) from the on-line player is absurd. But I think they have done a great job with the A.I. The Forza A.I. are lazy, predictable, slow, and alike.

    Not only that, but your engineer does not talk to you on line at your request. Why they split the SP and MP expereince, only to yank so many good features away from MP  is absurd. Again shows that the Codemasters really is not concerned with the league racer that much...or even the on-line racer. At least wit this game. I guess our only option in on-line races is to have the HUD on, which sort of kills the immersion. I can live with the qualifying gaffe, but engineer feedback was very innovative. Too bad only those who race against fake drivers can use it.

    Split screen

    As excited as i was with the split screen option in combination with the dual monitor support i must say im pretty dissapointed that there are no options to really split my screen. Why can't i play, local, against a friend with each a monitor to look at instead of having to split one monitor while the other monitor is being used for position displays only. Pls tell me im missing something
  13. I've tried many times and it just hangs in the browser for a couple of minutes and then goes back to the screen to link accounts without the linking completing. I linked to Facebook no problems. Anyone else having this problem?
  14. Loving Grid Autosport! Can someone please give a full explanation on the split/sector times that show up when qualifying including what the different coloured arrows (up and down) mean, what the positive or negative split times are relative to, and is the position number the time ranking for just that sector against all competitors? And also what are the bar icons adjacent to the flashback counter that say 'balanced' with a helmet next to them. Would be happy to look all these things up in a manual but there isn't one. Thank you!
  15. @HDTanel There is a replay (you said there wasn't at 7:59). It's in the pause menu, 4th option down. You also have the option of watching it from the results screen, and on my Xbox there is a control to upload to Youtube (which I have yet to try). I don't want to finish watching this. You took 4 minutes to give an introduction and background and explain why you're speaking in English instead of your native language. All it seems like you've done since, and I'm at the 13 minute mark, is talk about cockpit view. I knew about that 3 weeks ago. It was a very public thing. I'm bored, I'm leaving.
  16. I am in need of some technical help for GRID Autosport. I go to the graphics settings to change my resolution to something higher. When I reach the video settings screen and go to resolution, the only two choices I have a 1152x648 and 1280x720. I know that my monitor can reach 1920x1080. Where are my other options. I play other games in 1920x1080 without any problems. Don't know why Autosport is not letting me go higher. Here are my specs: AMD Athlon 760kR7 260X I appreciate all the help I can get.

    What Happened to 3D Vision ? Why is it broken ?

    Oh ok ... but I am talking about Nvidia 3D Vision 2 so using that with a dedicated 3D LCD Monitor such as the Asus or BenQ you do not lose any resolution whatsoever.   I believe you may mean the Refresh rate gets split so 100hz becomes 50hz per eye and that hs more to do with how a TV handles 3D as they are produced with watching movies as the number one priority. I could be wrong but I have never heard of resolution getting split in half ... resolution is the number of pixels on the screen so if an image was split in half resolution wise it would appear very large and blocky and look awful.
  18. Same happens in Grid 2 and Dirt 3 but not in Dirt 2 and in formula 2013 which are codemaster games too .. I have thought maybe is something about resolution of my screen because i have scale up it to cover the whole panel.... Luckyly i found the soluition changing the video settings and turning on (if it is off) and the opposite the Vsync ..Once i do this all screen is covered and game works normal ....If i try to minimize on windows with alt+enter , when i try to enter again in the game i need to do the same cause the black lines are appeared again ..:( Exactly the same any time i close and i need to open game again , i have to go to video option to turn Vsync on or off (once you change it once whatever times you change it then the screen remains in the right size ....) its weird ! :-??No big problem but i just lose some time to go anytime i open game in option to change this , same happen for game i refered above..Any idea? @-)  :-B

    @Loore The game just crashed, and now I'm unable to play it anymore because it crashes everytime it starts loading my profile. What to do now? Disconnecting my 2nd screen stopped the game from crashing, I can just restart the race, practice and qualifying progress is saved :)

    It's a cool little feature that displays data on your second screen from the POV of a pitcrew with timing data and a small cam feed type view of your current driving view. I disabled it after a minute or two of playing with it, but it's a nice feature have included. Loore, any chance of a FOV slider? Would help the sense of speed quite a bit IMO.

    I am sorry Codemasters but this is a disgrace.

    i think the cars sound dull, very muffled sounds from exhausts----very boring. the menu system is as crap as grid 2---- joining party, do you want to leave session & party, wtf is that? i dont give a shit about a party & i didn't ask to join one. shouldn't have tuning but it can be disabled.  its too hard to leave a session when you want to & have to wait till you are racing to quit. there should be a quit option in the pre race screen. still doesn't look as pretty or run as smoothly as grid 1. 6 YEARS LATER!!!! corner cutting penalties boil my blood, gravel traps is all thats needed, how many times do we need to talk about it? the names & flags above multi player cars look a bit crap i.e. not as good as G1. but i must say i am enjoying the driving side & have had some good racing, its a game codemasters should be proud of in that respect, its been nice to race on the tracks of old. the sensation of speed isn't quite there in the touring car class compared to the G1 standard but i think i can get used to that.

    GRID Autosport Feedback

    Just started the first race, and noticed the grass was ridicilously high (couple of meters). Off to playing again :D HD texture pack, all settings on Ultra, AMD HD6870 1GB Disabling soft ambient occlusion fixed the weird grass Game just crashed on the first race from touring car season on Istanbul Park, did practice session and qualifying without any problems. Seems my savegame is corrupted now, whenever I load my profile it crashes... Fixed, crashes had something to do with the second screen, disconnected my second display and I could load my profile again. No issues so far, except that its to much fun and I've got to go to school tomorrow, but I wanna keep playing :(
  25. First thanks you so much for implementing cockpit views once again, i now have another title to use my track ir with. Only one small problem... when in game im unable to use my keyboard hot keys for pausing or re-centering my Tir, so i get stuck staring through the roof of my car. I would use tir and a map to my logitech dfgt but every time i unplug and plug in the wheel(daily-i use a Flight HOTAS  and Razer orbweaver for arma/flightsims) i have to remap it every time i plug in the wheel or tir will not read the input unless its at a screen like entering the name. Pressing esc will not bring up pause in race if its been remaped and the combo ctrl+alt+\ wont re-center my tir. Also i would like to seee better support for piecemeal controller  setups. My Driving force GT wheel is awesome, had it 4 years now but the petals were crap. recently i started using my pro flight rudder pedals with the racing chocks in and its so much better responsiveness and range. but in grid 2 id constantly have my wheel stop responding. Not cool...  I think just a little refinemant in how inputs are used will resolve this. Also it would be nice to havea system for loading and archiving coustom control profiles and reloading them to anotehr game like the next dirt. No body does this better than eagle dynamics and the DS world series along with the ability to define modifier buttons. (This is a standard id like to see in many games not just cm titles). If cm just wants to focus on racing then refining these often overlooked features will  make the series contunue to stand out.
