Replays uploaded... but to where?
RTAnoskills replied to DeadlyDiddly's topic in Technical Assistance
Are they in the youtube video manager? Do you have to click "publish"? Ive only ever added 1 video from the game, the quality is always terrible. If you have a 1 inch screen, then it may look HD - LOL You have probably checked my suggestions already, but just thought Id suggest it anyway. -
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe F1 2010 had this option? It should definitely be included though. Who needs to see two steering wheels? F1 2010 didn't have this option, but why would you want it anyway, it just adds to the games fun. Many people playing with steering wheels on racing games like to be able to remove the steering wheel and hands from in game to add to the immersion. The steering wheel and hands of the actual player then effectively replace the in game hands/wheel, if the screen/wheel stands are at the right height. This. The majority of sim-racers do not have the in-game wheel/arms visible. Really makes no sense if you think about it.

once again rob u try to make out that my way of doing things is easeier. the game is equally difficult however u choose to play it, it depends on the quality of the people u race against. NOTHING ELSE. get off your high horse. as i said in my last post, U seem to think that anybody who dosent race exactly as u do is taking the easy option. i race the way i race for very good reasons which im not gonna repeat. as i have said time and time again ROB, if u think i take the easy option, and therefore imply that u r better than me then RACE ME, but EVERYBODY knows what a coward u r as this has been going on nearly a week and u are to scared to face me on the track. U put me down, put my team down, slag off the way i race but still WONT face me. also i never kick people from my room except if a team mate is waiting to join, Or sometimes when people 'lag jump' up the results screen. (except svenos) although im over that now svenos and wont kick u anymore. (private matter). Most sensible people would probably that these r good reasons to kick players, although im sure u wont Rob, but i bet u vote to kick anybody who beats u. im guessing u r now accusing me of kicking good drivers from my room, but u have never been in my room. u seem to get lower and lower. far from it, i invite faster drivers to join the club. If they dont want to join then fine i tell them they r always welcome in my room asThe only way to get quicker is by racing quicker drivers and seeing what they do differently. RACE ME U COWARD. If Ur To SCARED to Race me then simply Shut up. if u put as much time into the game as u do trolling these forums u might actually move up xp leaderboards ;)

Racenet Challenge - Party Mode this week is bugged. Own cars allowed!!?
TaKeNuk replied to TaKeNuk's topic in General Discussion
Jerrymackturner - Party Mode events have always been with Loan cars ONLY as TUSMBOX mentioned, As DLT222 has said, if they're going to allow you to use your own car for this Intel Challenge then at least give some form of reward for Winning each time? At the moment, the race ends, and you go back to the Racenet challenge screen having earned no money or XP. This simply isn't a fair playing field for all players, New players to the game, or players such as myself who haven't driven the Formula B very often in Online races (Because it never appears in the playlists..) are now left handicapped. I simply don't have the time to spend a week grinding my way through races to upgrade a car unnecessarily. Racing competitions should be kept simple, with the bare minimum of variables, a fair playing field for all, same car, same track. At the moment this Intel Challenge just rewards those who have flooded hours and hours into the game, and just so happen to have a fully modded Formula B car. -
im not twisting your words at all rob, just stating what u r implying, now on 3 different threads, this 1, my teams recruitment thread (stating that iyo anybody who joins monster racers is simply a glory hunter) and stating that your team is better coz u only have 10 members and blah de blah. All this in MY teams Recruitment thread. also on another website, playstationtrophies.org on there grid autosport boosting page where u asked to find a team to race with when yours is offline. i invited u to join our race room and once again u went into 1 about xp leaderboards and glory hunting. u r following me around like a lost mangy mutt. i posted here to highlight the 3 cheats on the multi player leader boards as this is a CHEATS thread, i dont see the point in making an entirely new thread just because it is a slightly different leaderboard to the 1 in the title. u saw my post and couldnt help yourself could u, U HAVE TAKEN THIS THREAD TOTALLY OFF TOPIC. also i explained y i use the race settings i use, and there is more satisfaction having 5 drivers finish within a tenth of each other and not knowing who won till results screen then getting smashed off at the 1st turn. I DON'T HIDE BEHIND FORUMS. IM ONLINE EVERY NIGHT, U THINK U SO GOOD, RACE ME. i think this is very simple, u know u cant beat me, your to afraid to try, ur jealous of me and my team so that is y u are following me around attempting to shit on my own and my teams achievements. RTAnoskills, i hear what u r saying, and yes i do agree sometimes the xp leader boards are misleading, however this is the 1st time i have ever been top of an xp leaderboard, it happened quite by accident as was just racing with mates for fun. However it annoys me that idiots like ROB say im only there because i have put more time into the game than anybody else. anybody who comes to my room and beats me gets a well done and an invite to join club (if not already aligned) i have won 60% of my races and finished on podium in 90% so obviously ROB im not there by skill am I? my full stats are on a previous post and can be checked on racenet multilayer leaderboards also RTA i don't play challenges as i have had save corruption on more than 10 occasions, and challenges have been noted as a possible cause, when i did them in the first 2 weeks i got into the top 30% of all except the destruction derby 1, and top 10% of a couple, didnt really look at exact positions, yes i do agree that they r a good representation of skill, but like xp leader-baords you can get to the top by playing them a lot and doing nothing else as practice makes perfect. (NO DISRESPECT whatsoever to the people at top of challenge leader-boards) I know u guys/gals ARE VERY, VERY good.

There is a kind of bug in the engineer`s preset racing strategy (please fix on F1 2014): The engineers does not take into account the tyre wear resulting from qualifying! Therefor, the tyre-conditions (%) should be visible in pre-race screen. Today I was recommended 3 stints on options, 1 on primes. One set of options was totally worn, but he recommends to drive with it the same amount of laps as with the better sets. It is not that difficult making a formula for that. Furthermore the engineer does not see that a fully fuel loaded cars has more tyre wear than an almost empty one. So I do my strat on my own and works fine :) well i can make a formula, pete, pm me if interested.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BETA AND FINAL VERSION
RobMUFC1987 replied to berre's topic in General Discussion
They'd rather the game (not cars) looked good rather than work. What's the point in the planes and helicopters at race circuits and balloons at street circuits? I also noticed for the 1st time what appears to be the Golden Gate Bridge in San Fran with traffic going across at the race results screen. I for one have never noticed the bridge while racing, so I don't see the point in the traffic -
Seabast318 said: Hatta, this video is very nice, no? I hope you realise that's a fully curved screen there too. The video is actually a head cam, the picture comes from a projector behind him, you can see that because it's his hands and wheel there, looks very good, he has spent a lot of time on it but now it's paying off

OK im no expert, but i'll do my best. Particles: I think this just impacts the amount of particle effects, such as dust and sparks, and also how long they stay on screen for, and if they can collide with cars etc. Not sure how much performance impact this will have, but its nice to have, if not crucial. Ambient Occlusion (AO): This adds some really nice soft shadows, that are not a result for direct lights (sun or other). As far as i know, this is usually quite FPS hungry, but if you have the power go for it, it really adds some depth. Soft Ambient Occlusion: Probably just a more accurate and nicer looking version of the one above. Ground Cover: Basically just grass (and foliage) a think, affects how far away it is from the player before it disappears. Nice looking affect, adds to realism. Global Illumination: Not really sure of this one, maybe a quick google will help with this. Anisotropic Filtering (AF): This should be turned up to max (16x usually) in just about every game, as it has very little performance impact, with a very noticeable improvement on textures when you view them at extreme angles. It'll make road lines nice and crisp at a distance. Hope this helped, i'd recommend checking out this PCGamingWiki Port Report, it'll show most of these options and how they effect the visuals and performance. Also, what GPU have you got? The chances are you can max out AF no problem, although the rest may need a bit of fiddling to get right. In my experience, all the EGO engine games run very well on pretty old weak hardware, so providing your not running low end mobile hardware, you should be fine.

and codemaster sold the defective games still. Grid 2 still corrupts if you don't let it save properly. Say, if you dashboard on the race results screen. Since the patch that fixed corruption on grid 2 I haven't had a problem. 3,000+ races. I've seen people with 10,000+.

the cars are available in the car selection screen before a race, Your owned car will be available along with the loaner cars.

u have had an issue signing in to racenet on ur ps3. if u see [] rather than [tag] then u need to reboot ur ps3 and sign into racenet again, this happens quite regularly, my team have tried going back to main screen and then back to online menu but dosen't work. so rebooting game / console should fix it

So, today i got my second savegame corrupt after 173 career races. I never played multiplayer, racenet challenge, i only played Singleplayer Careermode, Touring Car Section. After a session i quit the game from main menue and as you can't see in PS3 XMB Screen, if the savegame is ok or not, i always started the game again only to see if the savegame is ok and didn't do anything and quit the game again in order to not initiate an autosave. After that i backuped the file either in the online cloud or on an USB Stick. Today after playing i did the same procedure but when starting the game the game told me that the savedata is corrupt. I deleted the savedata and copied my newest Backup on the Harddisc and the game started without a Problem - but i know, now i can't proceed anymore since after 3 or 4 races the file gets corrupt again. I never quit the game while autosave, always from main menue, i know what i'm doing. So this example shows that the game produces corrupt savedata only playing offline the career mode. No online Features are necessary. There must be a General big Bug and i really wonder, why this couln't be revealed before release. I'm really disappointed and I'm thinking of getting a refund from Sony (i have the download-Version). I would say if the bug isn't fixed until October i won't buy F1 2014. And I'm not sure if a patch really can fix this, as it is too complex. CM should take all retail Versions and put them into the garbage, the download-Versions should be deleted and a completely "new" G:AS should be released without any bugs. The costs of all that have to be payed by CM. They have produced this product that is not ready for use.

Problems connecting to Racenet in GRID 2
SpeedGeek replied to FationablyLate's topic in Technical Assistance
What's really frustrating is when you have a "private war" going, let's say with your brother, :-) and he gets good scores that I then can't beat because I can never get on again. Or, if I beat, and he can not because he can't get on again. Where's the fun in winning by default? We don't count those. Those don't reflect on us, they reflect on Codemasters / Racenet.. Any suggestions? I was looking forward to an hour of tearing up a track... Oh, and by the way, just leaving Grid2 running, just idling on the welcome screen, costs my machine an extra 150-200 watts, as measured with a Kill-A-Watt meter. -
Diablo 3 Patch 2.0.1: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/blog/12671560/patch-201-now-live-2-25-2014 So Blizzard also does not care about QC? All because its so lengthy with a lot of fixes and rebalancing as that patch note (just one of them, mind you) is by far longer than all the Codemaster's game add together. As long as there are fixes and new additions with the game getting better, I am happy. Bugs will slipped during QC and they need to be fixed post release which is by far better than leaving it there unfixed. @Loore, please dont take that ridiculous opinion to the heart. Personally, I like to see patch nodes as I know what has changed or added. It is a good way to communicate with the fans who cared about it. Who cares about Diablo 3??????????????????????????????????????? Maybe some people on the diablo 3 forum. But here we care about Codemasters games. I dont care how big the list is. THE POINT WHICH SEEMS TO HAVE ESCAPED YOU IS : IT SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN RELEASED IN THIS STATE. Patch notes are welcome, I was just surprised by the size of it. Because for 1 thing........I paid full price, I didnt get a half price version, that said it may have issues. I bought a NEW game. New generally means working. How many times have you bought a new TV with no screen, OR a new car with no fuel tank. QC baby!!!!!!!!

Well i got my corrupted save back again. This is my theory to why it happened. I played a new game, did about 50 races, a few racenet challenges and due to the race net restarting a few hours later I gained about 400k from rewards. I bought a load of new cars, did a few races and let the game autosave without tuning or modifying any cars then sold them all not long afterwards, then I let the game atuosave again. I went to options and settings- driver details- new driver. This sent me back to the start title screen, the game come up with a message saying "syncing accounts" (which includes saved games) and when I clicked the corrupted backup save and it worked again and I had my corrupted save restored. I think the syncing of accounts and saves is the most important part, I also think that the second most important part is including a new save game which has been played to a certain extent which has no full or partly corrupted files on it. I feel that the "pure" file helped the old Corrupted saves come workable again due to the syncing effect. I have gave some of team members these steps to follow and a few ave had their saves back and the majority have not. Im guessing the corrupted saves have several reasons to why they get corrupted, I have no idea to why or how. This fixed mine and the few people who had the same corrupted reason as me had theirs back also. Note, the game WILL go corrupt again the next time to switch it off!! (my team mates have confirmed this), im NOT saying this is a fix but a a slight glitch in the system so you can play the game with your old cars. Im leaving the game on continuously while I'm out and about to avoid this. I think this is the reason (or close to/a part of the reason) my first save came back before a week or so back, it was purely accidental that time but ever since then I have been trying to figure out how it came back and I think the syncing of accounts and the saves plus the "pure save" is the reason. Also, dont ask me how I know if the save is "pure", I have no idea, it just worked this one time. The other 15 attempts before this one to try and mimic the accidental one a week or so back did not work, so yeah.... :/ Like I said, its probs wont work for you, but it did for me and only a few others, so dont complain to me if it dont work out. Just a theory, could be wrong and a completely random reason causing the saves to come back lol, but i find this intersesting.. :P

RTAnoskills replied to Yellowpinkie's topic in General Discussion
Trouble is, This is a game, and you cant compare driving a game, and driving a car in real life. When im in a real car, I can see through the windows, and Ive got working mirrors, and I can also see out of the corner of my eye. Also I can turn my head. When driving in-car view in a game, using 1 TV, all you have is a picture, of the view from in the car, You cant use mirrors (G:AS), You cant see out of the corner of your eye through the side windows. The roof is in view, the side pillar is in view, Lots of crap filling the screen, and only a small area showing me the track. Try driving your real car with a half letter box stuck to your face. So your blocking 65% of the available view. I dont care what view people use, its each to their own, what ever works best for you, etc. I just dont want to hear someone blame their view for the crash they caused. -
I really don't remember what it was, but when I did a racenet challenge (didn't matter which one or how often), after finishing, on the cash screen I had some money-achievement (not one from steam/xbl/whatever) that was worth 20k and was triggered every time. edit: Wins Milestone was it. Just tried another challenge (again), still get it. Unless I get a win milestone every win after the 50th or so, that must be a bug. edit2: Now I get the Location Milestone constantly aswell. Just 5k, but hey... :D

XD. I swear that this weekend i was with some friends in an open list with other players and when the Brands Hatch Mini race comes 10 of 12 player went out INSTANTLY AT THE SAME TIME, i looked at the screen and it was me and one friend, just in a second!! XD. We all were out and leave it as quick as a Veyron on steroids. Come on!! what the hell is 5 laps in a track that fits 10 Mini in paralell...bored 99 times from 100. And people knows!! XD, that car is funny in any other places... Salute.
