I want to be reassure about the cockpit cam.
dirt3joe replied to Tr3voRR's topic in General Discussion
On cockpit cam : I dont believe cockpit cam shows you a real driver position. Unless you have a massive telly and sit 1 inch from the screen. The real view cam is halfway between bonnet cam and cockpit cam. You need to include some cockpit, but so little it becomes practically useless. I can understand why codies feel that if only 5% use cockpit cam then they may question the value of it. On mirrors : This is far far more important to me that the cockpit cam issue. Firstly, I think that mirrors should be available in all views apart from far behind mode. It frustrates me if I can see the mirrors available in cockpit cam but can't use them in T cam or bonnet cam, or at least have a facility to toggle. The only place where you might argue they are less necessary is from the behind view. Secondly, mirrors add a lot to the race. Being able to use the mirrors and know where the position of the opponent is is very important. The arrows help, but mirrors are better, even in lo-fi mode. In touring car mirrors are very important, because there are a lot of overtaking and close battles. If it is all about the race then the mirrors add an extra dimenison, and allow the skilled user to learn extra to improve their position against others. For example if you see someone coming up behind too fast on a corner, maybe they go on the inside. If you can judge the speed just move out the way and they go off the track without smashing into you. OK, so are mirrors in GA ? I don't know. I guess the graphics are pushed and that there may not be enough room for mirrors in GA, or maybe it is too late in the day. But I say to codemasters think hard about mirrors, especially for next gen consoles, because I think for racing mirrors are much more wworthwhile than slight increases in graphics resolution. -
Aw, Get in there man! http://speedcap.net/sharing/screen.php?id=files/ed/df/eddf990f97f7a04b7277b10e568261d3.png I'm actually so happy about that result :D

The depth of field I notice is just what is provided, I presume, by post processing: the haziness that increases with distance. I haven't noticed any changes to it with speed. And it has been so long since I played with motion blur that I don't really recall all the details. I at first turned off motion blur to get better screen shots, but quickly decided to leave it off all the time. Frank -
Er, no. You're looking a flat screen set a fixed distance in front of your eyeballs. I politely recommend you go see an optometrist if your eyeball's create blur and the illusion of DoF for you - that's worrying! :-B

The 3 original videos of the post, he seems to be using ABS the 4th video posted by @MastaVonBlasta I couldn't see any.Look to the bottom right corner of the screen that's where any assists will appear on the HUD -
The racing genre has been dominated by console games for a long time now. I am writing from the point of view of a Gran Turismo fanboy looking for a PC title to finally bring the feelings I had when playing GT 3 and 4. Here are a few guidelines, even though they are probably too late now that the game is so far along... - Tuning. It doesn't have to be overdone, but tuning that you can feel is the way, in my opinion, to let everyone take their favorite car and make it feel like home. - Tracks with personality. This one is super vague and everyone will have theirs, but... When you look at gran turismo 4, the serious GP-style circuits are perfectly counterbalanced by tracks like Autumn Ring and Nurburgring, which are just SO different and fun to race on with friends. Tracks that you will remember for some special feature, weather it's overly technical, has great scenery, requires great concentration for a long time, etc. Seriously... try to master Autumn ring perfectly and you'll know what I mean.- Soundtrack. It should be unapologetic. Cheesy is fine. You're the king of the road and the music should be the kind you would put to pump you up on a road trip. Best example: Panama (Van Halen). I see the road when I hear the song now, having it heard so much. And I crave it like a drug.- Special events. Pre-set challenges, where you're forced to work with what you're given to achieve a goal. Please!!! Let me take a break from the campaign to try my luck on some seemingly impossible challenge, The campaign should be easy enough, but these should be HARD. Again, reference GT4. Miracle lap on Laguna Seca with that incredible Mazda race car, I miss trying you all day and FINALLY beating you!- Menus and information. Every feature should be easily accessible without going too deep in the menus. I suggest 4 main modes: Campaign, Custom, Special events, Online. Also try to make everything transparent as far as information goes. If you do have tuning, explain what each option does with tooltips. Let it be clear what is the reward of every event, etc. Oh and "custom" should include a free drive mode, ab-so-lu-te-ly.- Nonlinear campaign. I like where you're going with that feature mentioned in the blog where people will be able to choose what they do. You should definitely keep that. I personally hope for a map-type campaign screen, where the player goes where he likes. And somewhere... his garage. There! Yes I know besides the menus I'm basically telling you guys to copy Gran Turismo... but honestly I don't think that's the worst advice.

You may not look at your dash but other people do. I prefer highly realistic dash like in SHIFT 2 for example, rather than this blurred screen thing. My eyes are creating the blur and the depth of field for me, I don't need the same effect recreated by the game, thanks.

FORMULA 1 GRAN PREMIO DE ESPAÑA PIRELLI 2014
VetteIfan replied to alonsofan46's topic in World of Motorsport
Well look at it this way. Melbourne - not a massively power dependent track - Ricciardo finished 25 seconds behind Rosberg. Similar enough to the 28 seconds he lost in Spain over 52 of the laps. In Melbourne this gap was created with Rosberg cruising and Ricciardo pushing to the maximum, and as it turned out an illegal car in fact. In Spain that gap was as I say similar, but Mercedes were going for it all race to beat each other, while Ricciardo was the one more likely to be cruising for at least the last 15 or so laps with nothing to gain in front or lose behind. That, in my view at least, represents improvement, at two circuits not really power dependent. As far as upcoming circuits go Red Bull won't have an issue at Canada, in terms of mixing it for the top 5 places. It's only got one really long straight, most of the other parts of full throttle zones are more dependent on how you get off the corner before, where the Bull's are mighty. Don't believe me, just look at their qualifying record there over the past 3 years. 2012 I actually seem to remember Alonso having a top speed 4kph quicker (thanks Mike) than Vettel's in the speed trap in S3, but that's where Vettel made all his time. Can't find the speed trap files on the FIA website to specify that though unfortunately. And from then on Renault engines are going to be running at 100% power - where apparently we're only going to be looking at a 10-20bhp difference between them and Mercedes. Mercedes are going to have their advantage of the split turbo as I said, but I'm just trying to drum up some optimism who don't want to see 19 Mercedes wins this season :P -
I noticed there was no place to post your best DiRT screen shots yet, so here ya go :)I'll start off with some of mine.

I'm having a problem with the pitstop sequence in the "Career" mode. When I get a message to pull into the pits on the screen, I enter the pits on the next lap. The pit crew comes out of the garage and pushes the car into the garage then lifts it up and I can't get back out to the race. If I go to the main menu and "return to track", then the race status shows L- for zero laps. What gives?

Ferrari split their strategy. If Kimi wasn't so slow in that stint the 2 stopper would have worked. How was that Ferrari's fault ? -

The screen just showed Rosberg as the winner on Sky :L -
I'm pretty sure they're real. The world feed already has the same information that scrolls across the screen and why double up information?

I don't like the adverts during the race. The one on the grid at the end of the formation lap at Bahrain looked OK but the rest just look silly. Are the graphics on the Rolex board at the end of the pit lane CGI or a computer screen?

What do you want in F1 2014? GAME IDEAS
GondaRichard replied to mateyapfc's topic in General Discussion
Take the tyre scaling away, better screen, I can't read results. Having podium, back 3 practise sessions, better car voices, its the same as 2012, take away the oversteering model. But don't take back understeering model, and everything which you're saying. Able to get 2.3 seconds stop. The Codemaster said there will be formation lap, but they didn't do this, I'm not agreeing with you I hate the formation lap, don't stay it,or even we would able to switch out the tyre wear like in F1 2010, Create track, like in Gran Turismo (I know 5). I'm happy with the damage simulation, becasue if I hit the wall a little bit more, I don't want to be out of the race. I think in time trial, the game should allow to extend the tracks. The pitsops in practise and quali, and choose from a menu, which you want. So tyre scaling away. Take back the interviews. Have transmission every time, for example see shadow changes in every track, transmissions, like the sun goes downer in the sky,TovábbKevesebb megjelenítése · Driver transfers.I think the engineer should be able to say the lap time like in RFACTOR. like its a 1:13.111.TovábbKevesebb megjelenítése · F1 2014 game suggestions Legend too fast Expert too slow theres too big gap. In legend I’M 5 tens down to the leader, buti n expert I’m 2.4 faster than the second place man, with same setup and everything.TovábbKevesebb megjelenítése · Kevesebb megjelenítése Belive me about the tyre scaling and the things, because I saw you got a good relationship with Steve hood, I hate tyre scaling I need to go to a 2 stoper in a 25% race like in Hungaroring. Or do what Codemasters did in F1 2010, we can awitch the tyre wear off, or hve a kind of option that, Switch on tyre scaling, switch off tyre scaling (so go on the similar tyre wear as F1 2012) or even switch off tyre wear.TovábbKevesebb megjelenítése · New engineer or back the 2010 engineer because he had more emotions. -
DiRT Rally Championship Round 2 - Safari Rally

You need to set a fresh time Vic and then post a pic of the results screen, if you take a look a round 1 you'll see what I mean. Is that what you wanted to know? -
I see a CMR 04 copy on desk and a red hat with "04" on it. I need a bigger screen to see more details! I saw a Codemasters logo on the right too! :P

Welcome to round two of the DiRT Rally Championship. This week we are heading to Kenya and you have until Midnight on Tuesday 13th to submit your times - all stages must be ran from the Single Player > Time Trail menu and you can use any car within the set class. The running order is as follows: Stage 1: Rally Kenya Mwatate 60's Stage 2: Rally Kenya Taveta Descent 60's Stage 3: Trailblazer Kenya Leopard Rock Classic To submit your times simply post up the following info: Name: Team: Stage 1 Time: Stage 2 Time: Stage 3 Time: Then include evidence of your time for each stage, this can be in form of a photo or video. To add a photo simply take a screenshot (F12 on Steam) of the final time screen (as seen below) via your PC or with your camera phone and upload it to somewhere on the internet (I would recommend imgur). Or you can tweet it to @dirtgame then just drop a link to the tweet with your results. THE RULES You can only post your results up once. You can not use mods or hacks. You can not edit your post or update your times (doing so will result in disqualification). So only submit once you are happy with them. You must provide evidence in either video or photographic form. You must load up events from the Time Trial menu only. You must submit your times by Midnight (UK time) on the 13th May. Final Standings

In game currency, we've got no micro transactions in the game :) Question to @Loore Are we able to repair our cars in lobby as they occur damage or do we need to leave the playlist and go to the garage and repair it as we did in grid 2 to change upgrades or liveries? Really liking the sound of this damage system. From what I saw in the little video I've seen of San Fran it looks as if the damage HUD only shows up when you damage or wear a certain part to the next level which I think is a nice little touch and won't clutter the screen. Can't wait to see some bump & grind touring video to see how much they can take before they damage their cars. You can repair cars from the 'Paddock', which is the area you find yourself in pre-race. You can do some last minute tuning, repairs and a few others bit there :) No need to leave the playlist / lobby.

I read this as it is a question of "politics" only and not at all if it is possible or not because of hardware, coding etc. Okay, so who is Mr. Bad Guy keeping it away from the game(s) ? I guess noone expect a "first time chat" to be with votes of kicking or restarts, colors etc etc. Just a simple chat really, maybe showing at high top of the screen for 4-5 sec. Make a keyboard shortcut (like "C" in Race 07) and press Enter to get it on the screen + ability to turn it off somewhere in options. Done - ( and you can always update it if you get bored later on :O) ) But - why isn't this easy for you guys (Codemasters) to decide really?

DiRT Rally Championship Round 1 - Forest Rally
Vadda replied to justbiglee's topic in DiRT Rally 2.0
Well we are quite a competitive team. So we would like to drive all, but if we get slower than it doesn´t makes sense for us. What i thought was, that as a team you can split the stages on your teammates. So if anyone is fast in a special topic he can drive that. Like we wanted to do. If this is not possible we will only participate with one driver. As far we have StuntmanMike24 which had in the past many WR in DiRT3 but was inactiv a long time. Thats why he doesn´t drive his WR times. On the other hand we have the europe master of Trackmania. But let them both drive would just make us slower. So rules are rules and we are okay with that. ATM StuntmanMike24 has bad internet. When he will upgrade i am show he will make some videos so you can see the lap and how you have to drive to do this laptime. best regards Vadda -
You race for a team in single player, in multipalyer you can create a club that your friends can join. Split screen is in the PC version. You can't do the full career but you can do mini events on the same team.
