I saw something similar. It was time trial and I think some of the AI cars didn't start, after everyone finished it was stuck at the results screen with some AI cars "racing". I guess the timer went out eventually but there was no one in the lobby afterwards so not sure if it just disconnected or something.

Nvidia Graphics Card Issue? Game Freezes
trickeh2k replied to Jerome2812's topic in Technical Assistance
This is highly annoying, I've had the game for a few days now and have played a total of perhaps 40mins. After a while, the game crashes and after that you can't start it anymore. GRID logo shows up, then the Intel sound plays chopped up and screen is frozen. Alt+tab at least CTD's. Stop releasing broken games! -
I dropped it from 400 to 360 lately when I moved on to Endurance and Aston Martin. It is car and class specific. Luckily you can just minimise, change your setting and alt + Enter the game to full screen :)

OK the good : Fantastic track graphics.Never played on Bathhurst on CM game before, but track is done really well, much better than GT6 IMO. Handling is good. Did not play Grid 2, but the handling on this one feels fine. Maybe a bit slidey and difficult to control the openwheelers. They seem to have a tendency to slide on all four wheels (or at least thats what it feels like) rather than losing the back end so much. I'm not saying this is bad, just that it needs some adjustment in play compared to Grid and F1. Car sounds work well for me. I think there can always be improvement, but these are far better than say GT6. Paginin sounds great. The Bad : The AI. I must admit probably better to term the AI as "The mediocre" as there are some things I like about it and some not so good. I've had some great battles with the AI and it has been fun. But sometimes they just do terrible things. The worst experience is when you are losing ground in touring cars or battling to keep position. The AI will come up behind you and shunt you off the track and you end up frustrated because you lost out without really doing anything wrong. If you are moving up the field without having to pay attention to what's behind the experience feels much better. This may link in with the lack of mirrors. The UI. This is really bad. I want to swear, but I know I shouldn't. Whoever designed this should be given a good talking to. Some basic points, unnecessary button clicks. Options that are central (ie choosing track) not being at level one in the hierachy - it's like the guy/girl who desgined the UI never played the game. Unused space on the screen that could have been used to simplify the selection process but instead is left blank. I could go on. Fortunately the UI is a minor annoyance rather than something that wrecks the game. The car graphics. These look a bit poor on the openwheelers. Guess it is a consequence of needing to render so many cars on the track at once (Dirt 3 cars are fine on PS3). Car engine detailing is quite poor (sometimes better not to bother) and the tyres looked very poor when dislodged from the tyre wall. Maybe time to move to PC methinks. The ugly. : I play the game probably in a bit of a weird way. I like to do lap after lap on the openwheelers. This is great until you come to lap 10 (PS3, controller, automatic gears) at which point gear 5 dissappears and sometimes the car becomes impossible to handle, even if you have no damage. It's like the game can't conceive that anyone would want to do more than 10 laps and decides to trash your chances at that point. I don't know whether it is a bug, or me using the UI in a poor way, but I find it difficult to select the right track, and when I finish a custom cup and go back into the UI it seems like the track is scrambled. NO ! It should keep the previous settings I used for the last race. There is something weird going on here. Didn't see the helicam. @Loore and @justbiglee mentioned the helicam, so where is it, did it not make the final build or do you have to go into a certain mode in order to get it ? OK, So overall : This is a good game, there are some annoyances, but generally it is solid. I have only briefly tried the MP, but it was fun. I think the handling is good enough to allow good racing. The graphics are good, but there are some bugs/minor annoyances. The UI being the primary one for me. To rate, I thing 3/5 is too stingy and 4/5 too good. Then 7/10 again feels too stingy and maybe 8 too good. So I will go for 7.5/10. Bear in mind that this is only after 2 days and I have barely touched many of the disciplines/tracks. I think I would have to race for at least a week before I would be happy that I had seen enough of the game to rate it properly. My guess is that my score is likely to go up rather than down. Paid full price on game for the black edition. And the crunch point, would I buy it again knowing what I know now ..... yes.

I was playing online in a closed session this morning doing time attacks with a mate filled up with AI on hard in a 5 race session. First 2 races everything was fine. Then the 3rd race started my mate didn't see any AI and I saw while waiting for my turn to start several AI going over the startline and just rolled out and where standing still on the track for the rest of the race. Then on the end of the race we got stuck on result screen and needed to quit. :( This happened to me on a friday aswell with other friends

No gaming companies put rear view mirrors on the rear view of car why is that ? I would love a mirror top center of screen so I could see what's approaching and take action. You know its not only cockpit drivers who want rear views.

Do you have a second screen enabled? I had loading issues but 'fixed' it by disconnecting my 2nd monitor.

Hey guys, great game, couple of tiny things that I feel are needed Single Player: -A race confirm message asking if you are sure you want to start the race (for when you do not practice or qualify, lost count how many times I've accidentally hit Race when I meant to go into practice to try a tune setup) - XP bonus for race length being longer in difficulty. - PIT STOPS and drive through penalties. Kinda shocked this isn't already in, especially endurance. If animation for pitting is a concern just lock the camera to dash camera for the stop. - Custom team in Career, nobody wants the ultimate goal of racing for Nub Team Ravenwest, we all want to destroy them in team standings and make them lose all their sponsors. - Demolition derby in career mode / custom cup Multi Player: - Get rid of the reversed tracks in playlists, NO one wants to race Mount Panorama, Spa Francochamp, etc in reverse yet whenever it comes up in the vote options more often than not they are the reversed courses. - Playlists that disable assists and flashbacks - in playlists Make the starting grid off previous race result reversed instead of points, seems a little ridiculous the best player always starts in poll with a 200 point lead when newcomers to online and the session always have to start in the back. - For custom cup online make the starting grid apply to the AI drivers as well -For custom cup allow multiple disciplines in a cup, would be nice to throw some demolition derby in the same cup with touring etc - Demolition derby playlist please - Custom livery for derby cars - Team Racing - On the vote screen display the class of cars that will be used. A lot of us wouldn't vote to race a specfic track because it would be mini cup probably got a thousand more ideas but these are my suggestions for now

on two occasions, i have been in an online server, touring class c and after the race has finished, the results screen becomes a permanent feature with no way out, apart from 'quit' On both occasions, static ai cars were seen on the starting grid...like afk'ers.
-
Some quick constructive feedback here. The second screen feature on the PC is excellent, but the map and markings for your and other cars on it aren't easy to see. Can these be made bigger, and perhaps different colours, so it is easy to glance over while racing? Thanks,Ian

I am sorry Codemasters but this is a disgrace.

@HDTanel There is a replay (you said there wasn't at 7:59). It's in the pause menu, 4th option down. You also have the option of watching it from the results screen, and on my Xbox there is a control to upload to Youtube (which I have yet to try). I don't want to finish watching this. You took 4 minutes to give an introduction and background and explain why you're speaking in English instead of your native language. All it seems like you've done since, and I'm at the 13 minute mark, is talk about cockpit view. I knew about that 3 weeks ago. It was a very public thing. I'm bored, I'm leaving. -
well I have already set one up it's just fallen down through the pages and needs a little bump. http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/692/grid-autosport-videos-and-screen-shots-thread#latest

@Loore The game just crashed, and now I'm unable to play it anymore because it crashes everytime it starts loading my profile. What to do now? Disconnecting my 2nd screen stopped the game from crashing, I can just restart the race, practice and qualifying progress is saved :)

It's a cool little feature that displays data on your second screen from the POV of a pitcrew with timing data and a small cam feed type view of your current driving view. I disabled it after a minute or two of playing with it, but it's a nice feature have included. Loore, any chance of a FOV slider? Would help the sense of speed quite a bit IMO.

i think the cars sound dull, very muffled sounds from exhausts----very boring. the menu system is as crap as grid 2---- joining party, do you want to leave session & party, wtf is that? i dont give a shit about a party & i didn't ask to join one. shouldn't have tuning but it can be disabled. its too hard to leave a session when you want to & have to wait till you are racing to quit. there should be a quit option in the pre race screen. still doesn't look as pretty or run as smoothly as grid 1. 6 YEARS LATER!!!! corner cutting penalties boil my blood, gravel traps is all thats needed, how many times do we need to talk about it? the names & flags above multi player cars look a bit crap i.e. not as good as G1. but i must say i am enjoying the driving side & have had some good racing, its a game codemasters should be proud of in that respect, its been nice to race on the tracks of old. the sensation of speed isn't quite there in the touring car class compared to the G1 standard but i think i can get used to that. -
I preloaded it, already did my setup and all, now just trying to get the optimal graphics settings, can't handle ultra with second screen plugged in Is there a benchmark mode?
-
Just started the first race, and noticed the grass was ridicilously high (couple of meters). Off to playing again :D HD texture pack, all settings on Ultra, AMD HD6870 1GB Disabling soft ambient occlusion fixed the weird grass Game just crashed on the first race from touring car season on Istanbul Park, did practice session and qualifying without any problems. Seems my savegame is corrupted now, whenever I load my profile it crashes... Fixed, crashes had something to do with the second screen, disconnected my second display and I could load my profile again. No issues so far, except that its to much fun and I've got to go to school tomorrow, but I wanna keep playing :(
-
Second screen is a very cool idea. Would be great at lan parties or other public events.
-
This is incredibly awesome :O I've got two screens, but racing with the bars in the center isn't doable, but now I can put my 2nd screen to good use :D
-
This is currently being sent around the team with "awesome setup" used quite a lot :) Glad you're liking the second screen option, do let us know how you get on with it.

It's funny I was the same way with GRID (very upset and vocal on the forums back then) - couldn't stand it after playing TOCA. Hated the physics and move away from real tracks and touring cars. I'm happy Codies has gone back to their roots with touring cars. I could care less about cockpit view - unless you have a three screen setup with racing seat not much use for it. Hood view to me is the most realistic setting and this game nails it just like TOCA. Now all we need is a few more touring car tracks and I'll never have to think about getting an xbone......lol. -
further to above ... my only suggestion so far is that I found the open-wheeler front antenna to be too distracting / annoying as it's centre screen in the head level view I use. I would request that this antenna be removed.

No blurred cockpit mod with WORKING mirrors (PC) (Codemasters please fix this !!!!)
Avenga76 replied to HoiHman's topic in General Discussion
Sure thing. I mostly use the switches along the side for other games which use more buttons, like on my right side the 2 missile switches are my ignition and pit limiter, the big glowing button is my starter, the rotary encoders are all my wing, brake and roll bar adjustments. On the other side are all my seat adjustments etc. The gauges are ran with 2 Symprojects boards as well as the 2 screens under the tacho and speedo. The center dash is a Sim Instruments dash. It shows things like best laptime, current laptime, lap delta, position and lap number. the screen on the right shows my pedal data etc and the one of the left is general laps and engine info. I also have a hydraulic handbrake and sequential shifter on the right and a H-Shifter and DIY handbrake on the left. I also have 8 bass shakers and a motion seat. I have quite a lot of videos over in the Dirt section but here is one of them. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXwFIOyk7HE -
I agree with the engineer upgrade, if this will be improved the game will be more interesting and more enjoyable during long race sessions. What i want in F1 2014 (online): *The ability to see who has an penalty, have an option to see the whole list of drivers, rather than 3 while racing and if they have an penalty, it should be visible next to their name. *Option for manual pit limiter. *Ability to join a qualifying session and participate, instead of spectating. (This will result in more players online in my opinion) *22 drivers should not be a problem anymore with the next gens. *Second screen for PS Vita, usable as mirror or live timing. *Ability to use real weather simulation of a real F1 race from last year.

No blurred cockpit mod with WORKING mirrors (PC) (Codemasters please fix this !!!!)
JackKey replied to HoiHman's topic in General Discussion
As long there is a way to play the game without blurred cockpits, I am fine. Blurred cockpits are pretty much pointless to me anyway. Just thinking about Need for Speed Shift - the added high detailed cockpits, but most of the time they are blurred anyway . so why adding a cockpit nayway at all? Yeah, sure, marketing - and there will be people that like blurred cockpits, but when I drive in reality with a car very fast, my cockpit doesn't get blurred. It feels like watching on screen, seeing 50% nonsense. Well at the end of the day I will mainly keep playing Dirt 2, Dirt 3 and Grid anyway. Just a matter of time until Codies return with a nice title :).
