2014 Formula 1 UBS Chinese Grand Prix

Does that screen have the chequered flag showing throughout the race? As going by how China finished, wouldn't that technically mean the race would be finished at the end of lap 1? :p If Ferrari see this post, they will demand FIA to hand the 2012 and 2010 title to Alonso :P :-O SOMEBODY SEND THIS TO LUCA! 2010, with half points awarded for a first lap chequer, Vettel would have scored 243.5 points to Alonso's 249.2012... Vettel would have finished with an extra half point lead at the end of the season :( -
Does that screen have the chequered flag showing throughout the race? As going by how China finished, wouldn't that technically mean the race would be finished at the end of lap 1? :p Yeah, it does. If I had control over what the screen said I'd just have this I think:

You know the the start lights in Abu Dhabi, well the bit above them is a screen where it says 'Etihad' and it usually has waving chequered flags throughout on the sides. Well, what if that screen turned into yellow flags when it was necessary, green too and maybe even it could flash and say 'Safety Car'. That would be cool.

I think it would be cooler if you could start a timer when one car drove over the screen, then stop it when the next car went over it to show to time difference between the cars :D

Haha! I'm pretty sure I was 1 of the 2 people (Chris?) who was in that conversation :p Except we were talking about how giant screens in the track would be cool ;) Imagine if it was a tyre touch screen, and when the lead car drove over it, it would pull the advert along with his car revealing another advert underneath :D -
Whilst I am thinking of it, I'd like to be able to see the settings the host has set on any specific multiplayer game at the main 'list of multiplayer games available' screen - especially whether setup has been enabled (although not a fan of overly complex setup options, I only race multiplayer if setups have been enabled!). This could be achieved using some simple icons. Currently, having to join a game only to see that the host's settings aren't my cup of tea is a pain in the... ;)

Online lobby have too much dead times and there is always the feeling to be trapped.Voice must be mute, is noise race and listen other people and language, so thats why text chatas grid1 was the best option. Then everyone want can use mic and voice (teamspeak or steam). Spectate mode from lobby avoid waiting dead time and allow people to watch and join already started race, and with text chatis a must. This 2 feature are too much important for online, otherwise happen like grid2, i join a custom lobby, there are lot of minutes before to start, mute off for everyone and start to stare a lobby windows. Thats break online experience and turn a game online into and half mute waiting, thats is one of the reason to the online fail of grid2, was really really boredom join lobby and custom list !!!

Please have an option to skip the YDT if you know how to drive or make it better so do it in the middle of 2013 season with 2013 cars in Silverstone like real life not always Abu Dhabi. More frequent safety cars (in Monaco any kind of crash is a safety car or RED FLAG) Have a pre season feature part of carrer Different pit stop times so like Red Bull=2.8 Marrusia= 3.3 Life the life aspect of carrer or even just interviews and the home screen like 2010 game Please add as many of theses as possible:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

Here's a list from steamcommunity thread we've created a while ago with some decent suggestions concerning Grid 2 The Ultimate suggestions list. -1) Don’t make walls that provoke wallriding! 0) List of servers with ping, including playlists (ping bars on players). 1) Text chat. 2.1) Online practice mode or Time Trial mode. 2.2) Or at least let us use upgraded cars in Single Player // by Tex-Rec 3.0) Balanced cars (so there are no dominant 1-2 cars in each tier). 4.1) Force push2talk ON by default. I love voice chat, but right now I have to mute most people so I don’t hear every sound they make (if they use speakers - it’s a disaster). 4.2) Give an option to mute people during a race or at “session results” or at “event entrants” screens. 4.3) Add “Mute voice chat” toggle hotkey. 5.1) Global Challenges are now more like “Friend Challenges”, why do I have to visit Racenet website for *global* results? 5.2) At least add a link to racenet/challenges webpage inside the game // by DonSeismo 6) Look left/right when using bonnet cam should turn 90 degrees, not 45. 6.1) Rear/side view mirrors (by Annabell) 7) Map overviews and map name when loading and in “session settings”. 7.1) Also while choosing a car. // by The grizzly It is often annoying when you join right as the votes are over and you can only choose your car but cannot see the map that is coming up. 8) “Reset car” hotkey. 9) Derby mode in “Everything” playlist // by NY GAMER 9.1) It should be downloaded automatically. 9.2) Allow to use any car in Derby // by Aaphree 10) “Block list” // by [VQ]Kibo Mark them with a color and ignore voice chat? 11) Corner Cutting is way too aggressive at times. Having 2 wheels on a curb should not be penalized. 12) All tracks should be free. Why break up already small community? == Small things that would be nice to have == 1.1) Numeric values for topspeed, acceleration and handling (easier to compare cars). 1.2) Numeric values for exp. 2) Option to save replays after each race. This will help to fight cheaters (or at least ban them), learn from the best and make great artwork/videos. 3) I’d love to have spoilers as new cosmetics. 4) Steering lock in “advanced wheel settings”. 5.1) Diversity in Global Challenges and more challenges: - tracks AND locations shouldn't repeat until they all have been rotated; - there should be circuit/sprint/city variety; - tier variety. 5.2) Custom or *permanent* global challenges with every track/tier and global stats // by EVGA GTX 770 6) Show full information (tracks, damage, collisions, etc) when searching for sessions and inside a lobby (including race progress like laps/minutes left) without going anywhere into session settings. 7) Let us choose a car after joining a session that is already in progress. Right now it forces last used car. 8) Let us purchase/change upgrades inside a lobby. 9.1) “Spectator mode” that you can enter after joining a session that is already in progress. 9.2) Full HUD in a “spectator mode” (or at least a speedometer). 10) Player ping (session results and lobby). 11) Free roam mode. 12) Sell or remove cars. 12.1) Sort cars in the order of use. I'm tired of going 9 cars to the right to select Corvette every time in a playlist. 13) Permanently show the fastest lap during a race (yours and overall). 14) When there’s a connectivity problem, game should ask if you want to reconnect to the same session, not just drop you. 15) Show stats for players that are highlighted in a lobby (as in “view stats”). 16) Show own upgrades in a car select screen or lobby. 18) Some menus are not responsive. Example: I can hit “online”, press right, select “global challenge” as fast as I can and still get to “global challenges”. This doesn’t work for all menus (selection is too slow). 19.1) Host migration for custom events after 2 minutes of host inactivity (I think that's enough for a bathroom break). I'm sure we've all been in a situation when everybody is ready to go, but the host fell asleep. 19.2) "Next host" feature in "custom game / quick match" for the same reason // bySteMinardon 20) Let us name&save controller profiles just like liveries. Right now they are reset to default values when switching from one to another. 21) Leaderboards for every track/car. 22) An option to disable the echo effect when driving near walls. // by Prophet Too often it sounds like an opponent is right behind you. 23) Customizable HUD - position, colors... // by Zazurca and Prophet Right now it’s hard to see on light background. 24) Advanced wheel settings for unsupported controllers // by Prophet 25) "Suggested gear" Gran Turismo style // by Prophet 26.1) Class restriction inside a tier for both single player and multiplayer // byTestTestTest 26.2) Min level restriction for online custom events. 27) Ability to name custom events // by Ibot 29) Numerical tachometer // by Aaphree 34) Visual damage representation Grid 1 style as a part of the HUD // by Aaphree 35) More country flags // by Ōkami 36) Add drafting/slipstreaming // by [VQ]Kibo 37) Add a horn // by Good Homer 38) Better scenery camera angles in replays so they don't pan into obstacles or remove them completely // by Redwing 39) Allow host to set the number of AI cars, rather than it just filling the rest of the field // by ProdigyXP 40) Add the ability to save your own custom playlists // by ProdigyXP Dirt2 did this perfectly, where we could create all of your settings/tracks and name them for easy recall. 41) Adjustable positioning of HUD elements // by ProdigyXP Initial complaint was about the map position. 42) Custom livery support for Global Challenges so it's easier to tell who's ghost you are chasing // by pmf026

I'm also in the same boat. Just traded in my PS3 towards a PS4 last Sunday. No racers on PS4 currently. I'm positive the new GRID game would have sold well if it releasedon PS4 in June/July... Looks like I won't get to play the successor to the ToCA games. We'll see how my laptop does with tjebgame when it releases. Not ideal, especially on a 17" screen...

Grand prix -being able to have multiple custom championships saved. It's really annoying when I set up a custom championship and I can't play anything other than that 1 championship in grand prix mode, unless I delete the current championship or switch accounts. Fifa 14 lets me have multiple custom championships going on at the same time, CM should do the same for their F1 games.-if there's tracks other than the 2014 season tracks allow players to create custom championships that have more than 19 races.-custom setups in OSQ.-option to organize the grid in whatever way we want when selecting "race only", so that we can setup some interesting race scenarios. Career -have all qualifying lengths & all race distances.-custom setups in OSQ.-a championship points table similar to the one found on Wikipedia that shows every driver's finishing position in every race.-more than 5 seasons, or maybe the option to restart career with all teams unlocked after completing a 5-year career (kind of like the "new game plus" thing that some other games have). Time trial -option to select dry, light rain, or heavy rain.-option to adjust fuel load & fuel mixture.-option to enable fuel/tyre wear.-option to select any tyre type. Multiplayer -custom setups in split-screen (replace the garage thing with simple text menus if necessary).-co-op & custom championships in split-screen/lan.-optional qualifying in split-screen (maybe something like the trial party mode that was available in F1 2010).-option to organize the grid in whatever order we want when selecting "race only", so that we can setup some interesting race scenarios.-have a "serious" quick race lobby (heavy damage, realistic rules, 5-lap races) in addition to the current "demolition derby" quick race lobby.

I was just looking at the wishlist on Page 3, and noticed it had 'No flashbacks' on it. Now to me I think this is a bad idea. Particularly if you have some younger people playing the game. For example I was playing split screen with my 11 year old niece the other day, and she kept crashing, but at the touch of a button she was reset back on the road, and could carry on (and crash again!) Just keep the option the same as DiRT3 where the player has the choice to have Flashbacks on or off and how many they can have.

I agree with a lot in the first post.... Game definately needs more buzz after races and atmosphere. Also would LOVE the ability to create your own F1 team and take on the big boys... sorting out sponsors and upgrades. (One can wish) Split Screen co-op would be nice too codies ;)

@Jackkey 1) No Touge (or similar) 2) Bit early to talk about DLC but we have similar thoughts about it being implemented into single player 3) Yes, both upgrade and tune 4) We've made a lot of improvements to the livery editor, speed should be one of them 5) You'll be able to do split screen cups with a friend where you both race for the same team. Not the full career though. 6) No LAN mode at this time 7) I'm not talking track specifics just yet, we announce 4/5 of them today, more news will come 8) Afraid not, licenses held up elsewhere 9) Please see #7 10) Please see #9 @joepineapples Not currently, but I'm trying my hardest to get as many people to experience the game hands-on. Problem with demo's are that they take a lot of resource away from the game and we could be using that make the game a better experience, or even better putting features in.

Theres only one thing I dont want to see is communications being cut off while a race loads. Nothing worse than having a convo then the loading screen comes up and you miss part of it or need to start the convo again. This has been my only complaint with the racing games.

To confirm Demo derby is in the from start, it's not part of the career as we're focusing on racing but it's there should you want to play it. Offline, online or split screen. Point to points aren't in the game, we wanted to focus on circuit racing. That is a big thumbs up from me, nice. =D>

One of the most important changes needed for Online Leagues in F1 2014
likewise replied to moogleslam's topic in General Discussion
This sounds like a brilliant idea but will Codies implement it, I can't drive F1 with a pad to save my life so I imagine they do this to make the game playable for the majority of gamers... shame for us that use a wheel that we have to climb a steeper hill. Lately I have moved away from F1 to NASCAR for a change of pace and in the online screen while waiting for a race in a lobby you can toggle the other players assists... they ALWAYS kick anyone that uses assists... might also be an idea. -
Text chat is something we'd love to get in to any of our future games, we know it something that has been requested in the past. As always though it's a fight between resource and what other features are waiting to get in the game. Side issue but there is always a design point of view as well, especially from a UI perspective were as the online menus are created with multiple platforms in mind, if we ever did text chat it'd most likely only be on PC so we'd have to take that into consideration. As far as I'm aware there is no censorship, PEGI, DRM etc reason, if we can do it, we will. On the subject of UI are you guys still going with the massive object setup that you have since grid 1 where you assume everyone has the worst eyesight in the world or will you use your screen real estate better this time round? Seeing as you are also developing on PC for both consoles, how about designing it with PC in mind, like 4K grade textures, pitstops, races longer than a goldfishes memory that kind of thing.... Oh and whatever "trufeel" was, remove it. It was a massive failure in giving any type of feel to the player in any way. The cars might as well have been FWD hatchbacks with trays under the back wheels as far as handling is concerned. On the subject of DLC for the upcoming GRID game, don't limit players by having tracks and game modes as paid DLC, it's just stupidity that's made companies not see the problem this creates. It segregates the fanbase and makes people into haves and have-not's. Polarising already small community's is just a death knell for the game from a MP perspective. For Cars as DLC then great not a problem unless you release the most broken and overpowered car as DLC so unless you have it you can't win. Same issue as tracks if that's the case. Really when you think about it, paid DLC and racing games DOESN'T work. Oh and release a demo, otherwise you'll find everybody finds a way to test the game anyway. There is no Customer <> Codies trust any more. Codies have to work DAMN hard to get any of it back. Not to mention racers aren't exactly the largest community and word spreads pretty fast as to whether a game is worth buying or not.

F1 2014: #1 Career Mode / Grand Prix Mode
xSilverArrow replied to xSilverArrow's topic in General Discussion
Thanks again to everyone's comments. Here's the updated list: More than 10 seasons for an enduring and entertaining career mode.A live driver market, where drivers are offered contracts at different teams per season.A stronger and more determined AI, later braking, defending the inside, holding it down the inside, giving you a squeeze down the inside, e.t.c.FP1, FP2 and Practice 3 on Saturdays.A more realistic air temperature and track temp, (e.g. Colder at FP1, due to the earlier time and warmer for FP2, Qualifying and the Race) which actually impacts track grip, and track evolution.More track evolution, e.g. going out on track first resulting in less grip, until the track rubbers in, in which case gets faster.A wide selection of R&D with videos explaining what it adds to the car, and development which could be seen on track.Formation Lap System, something similar to the safety car system where it disables you to overtake another car. (Burnouts slightly easier as you go to park car on grid).Safety car allows lapped cars ahead of you to go.Live weather, (Temp fixed to what it normally is and any snow would result in rain). Mode can be turned on and off.Safety car to come out a bit more often.More damage, e.g. taps on the wall, can result in a tyre falling off.Be able to do a pit stop in practice and qualifying if you have enough fuel to do another hot lap.Information Archive, showing winner, pole position time, and the race strategy from previous seasons.Wind, sometimes affecting the car in sessions, giving understeer and oversteer.Having a PR like F1 2010 Career Mode.Timed sector runs in practice, with R&D.Long run data in practice. (E.g. data mode on monitor on screen, which gives you info on times per sector and per lap).More accurate fuel, using litres rather than laps of fuel. -
Two fairly major impacts at the beginning. Doesn't appear FIA is investigating unless I missed the message flash on the screen.
