Which i7 did you have? The one in mine is a 4770K so it's gonna be a while till it needs upgrading :D Oh indeed, you're gonna notice a pretty hefty increase in performance! When you click something and it appears instantly, and when you open a game and the loading screen takes 1/3 of the time it used to... It'll put a smile on your face :)

Creation of split-screen championships like in one of the older F1 games.

Since i bought DiRT 3 from steam the game won't go full screen instead its a smallish screen any ideas?

I wish a Drift game with a mixed handling from DiRT 3 and GRID 1. It includes Gymkhana (with an parcour generator and editor), Drift Challenges and various fun modes (like Outbreak and Transporter from DiRT 3, Sumo from DiRT Showdown, maybe Demolition Derby and so on ... all what needs car control). And forget things like the trick assist. (I would like to be the Game Designer, because CM doesn't know what the important things are. It's sad to see, when a good concept is beeing destroyed (look to DiRT Showdown).) For the F1 series they should go more to simulation handling, make it possible to drive every meter of every session and to complete the moments out of the car (like the presentation ceremony). In F1 2013 they began to integrate historic F1. Much more important would be the seasons of the previous years, so you can play a real career. Many of us are waiting for DiRT 4. The motto: back to the roots. Less arcade handling and long stages. Maybe they can get someday the official WRC licence. CM is not my prefered choice for this, but Milestone is much more worst. They made no longer an open world game (the last one was FUEL). At the moment there is no game in the sub genre of "Underground" ... ;) General: » Bring (at least for PC) back the text chat (voice chat is no substitute and should be possible to disable), but not as minimalized version (it's important to see the chat-history, to chat furthermore during loading screen and so on). » More thoughtful and ergonomic menus. » More detailed multiplayer mode (own room names, all settings visible without to join, search filter (storable), select car before start, ... community groups (let players manage who can play with "us")) » Single Player career in fictive games should be more real (seasons and so on) and not just a concatenation of events. » cockpit views must be standard

alot of the stuff i want is far from the arcadey stuff when i play racing games i only play them if they are punishing if i screw up there's not alot of them out there dirt u can slam into a tree an still finish first the damage model is there but it doesn't really effect performance i even have to play f1 2013 with a severe damage mod other wise i cant play it.. Soo point form what i actually want and would buy if some of these things are considered. >Narrow harder tracks (dirt 3 i felt every track was as wide as a highway and never needed to slow down) >Dirt that is actually dirt, digs down makes tyre grooves etc, think other cars go before you it could slightly change the physics of the track for re-playability >Less or no over the top gymkhana bs (i respect ken block but didn't some other game poach him, keep it gone) >Longer races kinda get bored if i have to go through a loading screen every 1-2minutes OR if that is the case as rallys are in stages make them meaning full connect them Service park to repair previous stage damage etc. >Realistic speeds, handeling, mechanical failures >More tracks if not real ones > Weather effects that effect the handling more not just if its raining its slippery if its raining heavy puddles build up hitting them effects handling >More trophy truck support, or other od trucks an bikes but if they are used include some long race equivalent to Dakar with multiple save checkpoints. >^ include a long dakar race if possible, multiple checkpoints, classes, vehicles, this event should take a long time to finish think 24hour races in other games. > Damage options if its set to realistic hitting anything should be a bad thing have options for full visual damage an less mechanical people if majority think its too much. > Livery editor car customizing > More focused career mode. (This is where livery editor an customizing comes in) start/manage a team / sponsors. > Destruction derby, somethings in showdown were fun with a proper damage model, realistic speeds (as an option slow), mechanical failures dirt physics (wheels spinning) could be fun online to see who can last the longest. Make a good game take your time, start fresh fit as much in it as systems will allow blow minds get everybody talking. I am probably asking for too much but this is because i really stick to old racing games over new ones, i really only play simulators (gtr etc) and a rally one would be a nice change stuff i suggest is probably next to impossible and i know the game has to be playable by all not just the insanely die hard realism people otherwise sales get hurt. Good luck lol! xXRariiXx

I don't know, I just can't see it.. :P @onetwothree then I guess the screen is really really small :P Toothpaste for scale.

Well the logic behind it is that I can tap anywhere in the middle third of the screen and Chrome opens, since it's an app that I use a lot.

me too wqas thinking of putting an ME screen up on mine but if I do It'll be lter once I've completed the SSD install

It isn't my keyboard - I can navigate the control settings screen fine. It seems to be only the email and the contract offers screen where I can't scroll to an individual item.

Hi folks this is my first post so constructive criticism please. OK so this is the deal I start up my steam, click DIRT 3 and hit play, then a little square that says DIRT 3 pops up, then splash screen and crash, I've been n contact with the support site and sent them a DXDiag file they told me I had two sound cards active (I'm only using onboard sound no extra cards) did any of you have the same issue, and if so how did you resolve the issue? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I like the idea of an option to recce the stages if the game is focusing on authenticity. I would like it to play that you are given a recce car (a road car or a recce rigged Mitsubishi Evo as Citroën uses in the WRC) to drive through the stages. You have to keep within the speed limits (80 km/h on WRC-events if I'm not wrong). If you go over, a warning comes up giving you three seconds to slow down, if not you are given time penalties towards the rally itself. When it comes to changing the notes, I think it could be good if the co-driver reads out the notes as you drive through the stage. For each note, the note itself comes up on the screen. If you want to change it you can change it within the parameters available. For example, if you come to a left hand corner which the co-driver reads as a three left plus, tightens two, you can change all parts of the corner. I don't think it should be possible to change a corner from left to right, that wouldn't do any good, but other than that it should be pretty open to make your own modifications. The process of changing the notes works by pausing the game or stopping the car, and doing the modification. Any other ideas?

GRID needs to go back to it's roots in the European Touring Cars such as BTCC, DTM, STCC etcetera. I'd be happy for a format which has multiple disciplines but is much closer to some real car handling not some NFS style drift crap. GRID had a great list of disciplines, but the cars often felt lacking in number or feel for the racing, more depth for the cars as well as more diversity in the cars allowing them to be setup for different classes of racing would be a massive boost to the series. Echoing the sentiments above, real tracks, real cars, semi-realistic handling. A campaign that can be shared with friends in a team format, even to the point you can make it drop in and drop out. AI that race rather than follow rails or just punt you off. DLC that doesn't split the community and reduce the players abilities to race their paid for cars online. Hell if the updates allowed the cars to be seen by those who haven't got them, but unable to be selected that's more sensible than preventing those who have them from using them. Tracks shouldn't be a locked resource as it will fracture the community just like it does with map packs for online shooters. Drop the global leaderboards, it just encourages cheating, which costs too much to police and despite all claims previously Codies never policed them properly. Allow seasons and ladder's to be created and joined allowing for player run championships. GT class racing with endurance championships. Allowances for endurance racing in Single Player as well as for full length races if the players desire it. It's just a tweak to the lap numbers and AI attitude (more cautious and long term oriented instead of aggressive sprint running...) Refueling and pitstops for endurance racing. Hell even a Le Mans 6/12/24 hrs setup would be epic. Bringing in the Prototypes as well as other interesting marques. That's just my initial ideas dump...

I think they all sound the same to me but Mercedes do run a split turbo.

There is only one thing i'm going to ask for the new F1: --- MIRRORS on the bottom of the screen when using the default "over the nose" view (Dunno how you call it). I think that being able to see what happens behind you is essential, especially online

PC Specs: Gpu: MSI Nvidia GTX 460 1GBCPU: i5 3470 @ 3.20 GHZMobo: Asrock Z77 Pro3Ram: Kingston 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM I tried everything, i looked on all posible forums with similar issue, even for different games but same issue, nothing has worked for me, after short time when Rain starts in race, the screen eventually freezes 1 second then goes Black Screen and sound still works, the game still works, untill i bring up the Pause Menu, that makes the game crash in desktop and automatically Launches game again. Its the only game i have this issue, never happened on other games wich are even heavier on requirements than F1

There's a really helpful thread over on the Steam Forums that have a selection of potential workarounds. Do you crash to desktop straight away or do you sometimes hang on a black screen? Deleting the .../hardwaresettings/ folder and let GRID 2 recheck the graphic card (didn't work for me. Might work though) Start an integrity check of the GRID 2 installation Update to the most recent graphics driver (might work) Downgrade the Driver to the last known working version As always I recommend contacting our support team on custserv@codemasters.com as they'll be better equppied to help you out :)

There should be a little x in the top right of the draft on the drafts screen, click that and it should vanish.

Make the game as realistic as possible. Include very thorough telemetry and vehicle set up options with realistic metrics as well as in game and replay/instant replay telemetry analysis to help with vehicle set ups. Maybe game assisted telemetry analysis to better player skill. Detailed damage for both aesthetics and its effect on vehicle performance. Realistic and thorough control adjustments such as steering, pedal throw, differential tuning, brake bias, what ever the driver can adjust mid and pre-race throw it in the game. An intelligent race engineer with helpful feedback based on in game dynamics. There is the first and second driver feature elaborate on that by adding things such as team orders. Parade Laps. Driver to engineer feedback for part upgrades. Realistic start procedure. Post Race celebrations. Interviews. Driver visuals during race like helmet vision obstruction and screen blur during heavy g maneuvers, etc. Manual pitting, cool down laps. More realistic track surfacing and surroundings. Go all out and please expand on F1 Classics! Try to add all past generations of cars and past tracks!

I can not wait for the new DiRT to be announced, I AM A HUGE FAN!!! I love rally, it is one of the best motorsports ever. I just wrote this so that I could get my thoughts out about the new DiRT game. I want something similar to DiRT 3 but I also want some tweaks as well. It would be cool if there where two mods; 1. is the standard career, 2. would be were you could build your own rally team, get team mates online, AI and even split-screen so it could be co-op as well. It would be fine if released on PS3 and XBOX360 but I would also like to be on the PS4 and the XBOX ONE***. Another cool mod would be a cross country rally were you go across a country doing every rally stage country by country and have a huge total at the end to see who wins. I would love to see all the cars form DiRT, DiRT 2, DiRT 3 and even more like more classic cars like the Lancia Rally 037. Those are my thoughts, what are yours? *** I am 98.999998% sure that the new DiRT game for 2015 will be released on Next Get Platforms (PS4, XBOX ONE, and PC).

We already had a wishlist at the old Codemasters forum, sadly we did not had time to save all the data we gather in the 3 years!,... created and maintenance by StrictlyDiRT3 but thanks to @justbiglee he saved this topic, so we can continue! Sadly StrictlyDiRT3 didn't create a new account yet at this forum, so we still want to give him the credits for all the work! Because its such a long topic, I will try to split it up in 2 replies. Updated wishlist: - An experience that's real, authentic and pure. - Serviceparks - Test area - eg Higgins test area - TC:s before stages and in service parks - Staggerd starts but with realistic time between every car. - Real "finish" in stages like in RBR. - Create own liverys, - Team Management - Meet the press. (like in F1 2111 or like that) - Real modern rallycars with true carmodel and skins. - Real teams. - Real car sounds. - Real physics. - Real pacenotes. - Real life stages (or stages that feel real) - Player made content - Constant updates so the game never feels old - Licenced events - ERC IRC WRC BRC etc - Dynamic weather - More mature game - Longer stages - More variaty in the stages - Old cars like Group B - Be accessible but also allow the options/scope to be a sim - Real life car classes - Progression where you work your way up through the ranks NEW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Be able to modify cars sounds files Risk of retireing from stages with "tec", mechanical problems, and when we go off the road See when the car in front of you goes off the road or retire (like in Dirt 3) Much stage marshall, public/fans, media/tv-crew on stages like in real Maps and stage info for every event to get the true feeling and maby a intro to every event make us feel that we accual are a real pro rallydriver Stage editors, a advanced for those who is really really good at it like some for RBR and one more simple for the amatuer but if it's one, go for the more advanced include short road sections before every stage / TC (never been done and that would really do much for the realism) Real championship with team, driver and co-driver championship points and stuff like that A more advanced online mode with option for closed groups and championship mode interact co-driver in some form (maby a more real AI co-driver who reads REAL pacenotes, talks to you before start of the stage, like how the first cuple of meters of the stage look like as in real, when its time to leave service, drive in to the TC and so on?) Keep it simple and focus to get the rally part 100% accurate, no smash competition and like that as in Dirt 3! Night, morning, midd-day,evening stages like in Dirt 3 option to choose between diffrent types of tires with real compund from D-Mack, Michelin and so on A risk of destroy the tires or puncture if you drive off the road/ditches or drive to aggressive like in codies F1-sims Diffrent typs of mix stages if the real ones look like that... gravel/tarmac and on snow let it be like often in real, gravel on some parts in the road Make the stages look like a real rally road with "breaking marks", "slide marks" and even ruff in some parts Team orders in championship mode Shakedown before every event Focus on quality rather than gimmicks! Make the fans create their own liverys, stages, sounds and maby even cars like the modds to RBR to get the game to live forward when you at codies makes new games or make many updates with real liverys, stages/events, cars and so on, listnen to your fans who love the sport Launch control and a switch from "road" mode to "stage" mode like the modern WRC-cars have and launch for N4 and so on (could be option for those who want's a hardcore-sim or for all without an option to switch it off) Interact clutch option so we can use it in starts, hairpins and so on interact to use after market handbreak, gearboxes and triple-screen Real looking dust clouds after cars like in real that hang around in stages for a while... And then in som places when it's sunny, dry and not windy - "haning" dust! (never been done before) ..... NEW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> interact "left foot breaking" / "Scandinavian flick" to the game and driver experience. Real physics for it all as before or a option "switch" from easy, fun and arcade driving experience to "simulator" mode as in the creator of the game "RACE" from Sweden, as STCC, WTCC GTR and so on, so you can choose between a "lighter" sim or hardcore autentic rallysim mode in physics. And then it should be so near the real thing that acuall pro drivers can relate to their own real carhandel. Long and medium sizes events with stages that is hard to memorize and to learn. You need to be good to drive after your co-drivers pacenotes to do good stage times. A good and usfull community for gamers to share experiences, stages and addon/mods if we get this oppurtunity ofc. Option to create and outfit your own driver with everything like background of the driver to the "look" of the person and choose between real overalls, shoes, gloves, helmets and so on (like in FIFA or NHL when you create your own person) Have a system were you earn "money" to buy new cars, tires, fuel and so on Championship mode as in the F1 games (F1 2011) DLC to buy - real events from europe were the stages is copys from the real ones and the event it selfs (national championships events) and with "AI" who names is from the events and "drives their own cars" Real cam option incar to only se the dash and windscreen for us who wants to play in sim mode with steeringwheel. And other great cam angle like between the seats, other drivers views without arms and steeringwheel, many diffrent outsides cams like diffrent sides of the bonnet, roof and so on. Heli-cam like in WRC or ERC. Co-driver cam. Real looking camera views in replays like if we watch a real rally on tv. NEW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Qalify stage after some shakedown runs a qualify cermoni like in real when you have to choose a starting position after how it goes in the qualify runs and when you pick starting position, you need to think tactic with your team, look at the stages in the event/ road conditions and wether forcast to get the right position to succeed in the event have the option to choose from many real co-drivers from erc/wrc from diffrent countrys to read their pace-notes to us let the stages get more and more destroyed after the cars pass by, espessily in corners and junctions if you start first on the road, let it be clean and filled with much loose gravel and slippery as in real in gravel events and on snow events....And in snow, only slippery when you start first and when it's a "line" there will be extreme grip as in real. In tarmac clean, and after some cars, slippery in corners and junction as the car slide up gravel and grass on the road Let it be seen that the cars in front of you has done all this! Let it be "lines" in the road on gravel and snow stages after some cars, and there you have to drive to get the best grip, if you go out of the lines in these conditions, you drive in all the loose gravel or snow and you get some great slides and loose much grip! A co-driver vocie editor or a game who is open to mod as RBR to get our own countrys co-driver voices if you cant create voices from many diffrent countries with real co-drivers. NEW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> No "splitsigns" on the stages. As all erlier rallygames and even in RBR there is yellow TC signs when you got your splits, very unreal. Make that realistic insteed or only not use the TC signs for splits. Wishes that you guys look back on your old games if you not can create "real" stages. We want real looking stages as we wrote on top of this list when it comes to roads, nature, effects, stage details and more, and in Dirt 1 for example there is som real good example in gravel sections of a real nice looking road and nature (only). Make that even more real then it's perfect. Would be a nice graphic effect on some roads that there is diffrent typs of gravel, hard parts and soft parts with diffrent colour as in real. Darker for wet parts and dry gravel is light looking As a wish for an event, BRC:s event in Wales Rally GB this year. (read that they are going to start after the WRC classes. Would be nice to have a future like in EA:s Real racing 3 (only play that on Ipad). In that game, the oil level, brakes level and so on gets older and more bad after each race and you need to have an eye on the levels all the time and when it's get to low, you have to service your car and change all this things like on a real racing/rally car or street car. That would be a nice future to not only have to do the rally event service but after some events maby needs to change gears in your gearbox, put in new oil in your engine/gearbox/brakes, change your brake pads, make some updates in your engine if the engine has gone many SS miles and so on to not have the risk to retire in a event because you don't have check your car before the event NEW>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Make a risk of get flat tires if you drive "ruff" or hit a stone inside a corner and so on, and the new wish from forum users, make the car suffer other damage if you choose to go the hole stage with a flat tire as in real on a long stage, make a tactic option in that case, to stop to change tire if you feel that it's a long way to the finish and the car will suffer alot if you don't. With all damage on the car who is'nt cosmetic, make it cost alot of time on the stage as in real make a option to choose to drive LHD or RHD in cars who does who come from countries there it is LHD or RHD cars (Im driving LHD cars in real and it feels very strange to drive RHD cars in games when in real there is a option to make that change!) If there will be rallycross in the game, forum users want's licensed events from Rallycross RX (ERC) like in the rally parts there we want licensed events from the "old" IRC the "new" ERC, BRC or other national events.

I think Herby007 mentioned something like this earlier, but I can't type anything into the 'Leave a Comment' box on my iPad. The cursor doesn't appear (like on desktop too) and also the keyboard doesn't appear on screen. I use the Chrome app for everything and haven't tried it out on Safari yet, but I would imagine it is the same situation.

I hope pretty much none of the "skillz" type stuff that was in showdown, / gymkhana in DiRT3 make it into DiRT4. I am kind of hoping that now the franchise has split, all that stuff is kept for showdown 2, and that will mean more racing content for DiRT4. Whether this is going back to the Colin McRae Rally roots, or keeping with the truck racing etc I actually do not mind - I love both - I am just not a fan (aka really dislike) anything along the lines of tony hawks skateboarding / 1080p snowboarding / gymkhana type style games, or random "party" games modes. in terms of handling, I actually really like the handing model of the cars in DiRT2 and 3, but if it chose to go a little more sim that is fine too. Carrying over damage accross multiple races would be pretty cool as well. ***but for goodness sake bring back the dashboard view, I was gutted GRiD2 ditched that***

Good point regarding bookmarking. I periodically checked up here to see if the forums were back up. I got a screen saying the page could not be found with a different style to the old Lithiums with my old bookmark, so I assumed that they were back. It was by pure chance that I happened to check only a few hours after the forums went back online.

It will almost certainly be because you haven't changed your engine in a while, I had the same problem. Go to the setup screen while in a session and scroll across to 'engine' and you can fit a new one, hope this helps.
