Split Screen or Virtual Mirror - Which one is responsible for this HUGE graphics downgrade?
viniciusrsouza posted a topic in F1 Chat
Honestly, no matter what they say, F1 2019 and F1 2020 graphics are night and day difference. - The distance view is CLEARLY lower this year. We can see this perfectly in Spa, sector 3, reaching the old Bus Stop. Also in Canada, first corner. The public stands low draw distance is EVIDENT after we turn left and their textures load in front of us. - Colors. They are totally washed. Mainly trees/nature in general. - Anti aliasing. I'm playing on Xbox One X and it's absolutely frustrating to see so many objects "flashing" here and there, totally lacking a mininum of it. - The sun. Used to be bright and realistic when played in HDR, to a point where using Samsung Q80R TV in maximum back light was able to hurt a bit our eyes. Now it seems to be nerfed as well. It's EXTREMELY sad to face this level of downgrade probably because of a new feature just 1% of player base will use. And, for sure, for just a few rare occasions and never more. -
A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. If I restart my Fanatec Podium F1 DD1 wheel when the F1 2020 game is open, then I get a weirdly weak FFB. In order to get the proper FFB, I have to press the PS button to go to the PS4 main screen, turn off my wheel, turn it back on, and then press the PS button on the wheel to enable it. Then I can go back to the F1 game and the wheel will have the proper FFB. I also get the same behavior if my wheelbase is on and the PlayStation goes into sleep mode. If I push the button at the front of the console to bring it back up, the wheel will run in the weak FFB mode until I restart it using the procedure above. Platform PS4 What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.13 Game-mode? Any game mode. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? Yes. How do you make the problem happen? Go to the game main screen. Turn off the wheel and turn it back on. Push the PS button in the wheel. PlayStation will show a screen asking who is using the controller. Select the player and press X. Now the wheel has weak FFB. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue I have the following workaround. Go to PlayStation's home screen. Turn off the wheel and turn it back on. Push the PS button in the wheel. PlayStation will show a screen asking who is using the controller. Select the player and press X. Go back to the F1 game. Now the wheel has proper FFB.

WRONG FORCE FEEDBACK ON LOGITECH G29 IN F1 2020 (PROBLEM IDENTIFIED)
PrakharVats posted a topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. I had been using the G29 on F1 2020 since the launch date. The force feedback had been working fine but since yesterday (October 11, 2020), FFB through high speed corners has gotten reversed. For example, turning right through Copse, the wheel offers no resistance and gives FFB in the direction of the corner. So I'm turning right for Copse and the wheel adds extra force towards the right. Did I change any settings? -NO. I just increased FFB strength (in-game) from 42 to 46 two days before. Is there a problem with the wheel? -NO. It works fine on all other games including F1 2019. The FFB feels alright in slow-speed corners. The problem occurs in both multiplayer and solo TT. Attaching a report code of a multiplayer practice around Silverstone where I observed the same issue through T2 and then by weaving on the straights. awaiting information Player tyre strategy bug is back!
ChironTheseus replied to ChironTheseus's topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
Sorry no video, but I would have had the reserves, in practice I never use 2 of 1 compound, I'll use the worn set to do 2 or more programmes, yes the medium were selected by default as the tyre to switch to, only changes I make for pits are often I'll make the pit a lap later than recommended and lower fuel now I'm maxed on R&D. Minimal tyre wear and fuel usage. Also during the race, especially at the start I always toggle the MFD and mediums were selected there for the next tyre to use. No changes were made by me on that MFD screen. No mediums were used in qualifying. And P3 was skipped. So just 1 medium each used in P1 and P2 and no other session. -
Hey Guys, So I've been playing f1 for a couple months now and decided to upgrade to triple screens. Hooked everything up, having the issue that evertime i launch the game it goers to a black screen and it looks like my two side screens lose signal. Not sure what is happening, the sound is still working but i cant control anything. When launching in DX11, the game will launch on a single screen and the colours are crazy washed out, can't change color profiles or gamma adjust to fix. Same issue with F1 2018 uppon testing. Very strange, when i turned off nVidia surround and ran the game on a single screen, it works fine. Curious if anyone else is running into this issue? Thanks

You don’t have to buy them, but the constant panhandling is what gets me. You can’t ignore them. After every race you get the Podium Pass/Pitcoin screen. Or a pop up window. I think it will get worse. Codemasters are already making it worse on their own. Last year it was just car liveries and skins. Now it’s an in game currency they’re pushing. With the latest update (1.14) you’ll get a pop up store window with no possibility to opt out. Jokes aside, I don’t mind EA taking over. Last generations Codemasters has been gone for a while now. Everything people are scared of, was happening either way. Monetizing is going up, quality is going down. That’s what you get when the accountants are in charge in stead of developers with a passion for motorsport. Just look at Dirt and Grid, it just isn’t the same as it once was. They just want your money, without actually putting in the effort. I’m so done with this whole franchise anyway. Nothing but problems, even to this date. Latest example: F2 2020, what a mess. The only thing working properly is the item store! 😂🤑

This is absolutely the most unrealistic thing I have EVER Heard. Not trying to be mean but that is absolutely ridiculous. Take the time to memorize where each setting is so all you need to remember is how many clicks or button presses to get to the setting you need. We as well as F1 Drivers have voice command which is as real as it gets, anything other than that is quality of life for the game. Adding a pause menu in race settings screen would absolutely ruin the experience for anyone who takes this game seriously. Add a shortcut on your wheel for the pit screen, there are only what 4 settings in that screen and memorize which ones you might need to change. Get rid of one of your shortcuts or keybinds and bind the voice command option, everything you need can be done through voice command including changing tyre type, when to pit etc. You need voice command either way in case of strategy changes mid race!

awaiting information Game Crash at Race End - 1.12
Yaruh posted a topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. The game crashes after the screen fades to black after showing the Driver of The Day. Normally, it would show the team principal (Binotto celebrating and all that), but in this case, the game just black screens and closes. Platform PC What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) Version 1.10 Game-mode? Grand Prix and Career in both F2 and F1. Multiplayer doesn't seem to be affected. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? The problem seems to always happen. The only way I can "bypass" this is by spamming the A button on my gamepad and hope that it skips parc ferme and goes to the podium. How do you make the problem happen? The problem appears when I finish a race and I'm supposed to be in parc ferme. But the game just black screens and closes. What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue I have tried validating, using -safemode and reinstalling the game. Still nothing. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) I'm using a Logitech F310 gamepad. Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. I tried recording it earlier on but the video corrupted after the game crashed. -

Let’s take a drive through the Career mode of DIRT 5, stopping to check out a few new in-game screenshots along the way… OWN THE SPOTLIGHT In an off-road racing world full of superstars, DIRT 5’s Career tasks with you standing out above the rest, and making sure nobody ever forgets your name. The player is dropped into a world-renowned off-road racing series that delivers constant extreme action, continent to continent, in all manner of amplified events. As you begin to get your feet wet and make a buzz in the racing scene, you catch the eye of Alex Janiček – better known as AJ, voiced by the legendary Troy Baker. An undisputed superstar and fan favourite in the world of DIRT, AJ quickly takes you under his wing, showing you what it takes to rise to the top of the sport he has dominated for years. You’re not the only new racer making a splash, though. Enter Bruno Durand – the ultra-competitive, cold, calculated veteran, voiced by none other than Nolan North. A champion in other off-road disciplines, Bruno’s talent and star power mean a clash with AJ is inevitable, but the fallout from an epic race between these two icons lays the foundation for you to create your own legacy in the sport. The entire story, your journey, and much more are covered in depth by the DIRT Podcast by Donut Media, hosted by James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes from the Donut crew. Each sponsor will have unique rewards when you sign with them, including an exclusive livery of that brand, stickers to use in the livery editor, and a currency signing bonus. Each sponsor will have objectives, both long and short-term, that they want you to hit in your Career. Do that and you’ll increase your Reputation Rank, which leads to an ultimate reward once you hit the top rank. Players can switch to a new sponsor whenever they want in Career, though the earlier you leave a sponsor, the less rewards you may receive, especially if you don’t meet your sponsor’s minimum race contract. So, will you stay loyal to one brand, or see what multiple sponsors have to offer along your journey in Career? The choice is yours. 1. I have a problem with connecting to multiplayer races. When i am playing with 10-20 people my multiplayer race will not load. It just gets stuck to the loading screen. All with qualification works always fine, but almost always (9 out of 10 times) straight after qualification when loading the race my loading screen just keeps loading and loading. My game doesn't crash and I have to just shut down the game, because I can't get to the race. This problem is very very annoying. I think that my game is working fine with less than 10 people. And I don't know is this just a problem with my internet, because my internet is working fine and it always loads the qualification and gets stuck after it to the same loading screen. 2. PC 3. 1.07 4. Multiplayer (atleast unranked) 5. I have tried to race with full lobby atleast 8-12 times and i twice got to the race. 6. I have tried to put my setting lower and put FPS limiter on. I have also tried with DirectX11 and -12. I have tried to change my internet connection to my phones internet. 7. My wheel is Logitech Driving Force GT, which is very old. I don't know could this be the problem? I haven't tried without it. 8. -

One. Last. Time. The final Virtual Grand Prix is here, and we’re marking the occasion with something special. Today, we’re focusing on F1® 2020’s new split-screen mode by showing off a three-lap race from Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, featuring Valtteri Bottas’ Mercedes and Lance Stroll’s Racing Point. The Canadian Grand Prix has been a staple since the late ‘60s, and the race in Montreal has been a regular occurrence in the F1® calendar since the late ‘70s. With well-known features such as that last chicane by the Wall of Champions, and of course, groundhogs (which commentator Anthony Davidson unfortunately knows all about), the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a firm fan favourite. For more social play with your mates/sibling/rivals, two-player split-screen makes a welcome return to F1® 2020. We’ve captured this in-game, and the race doesn’t just show off split-screen, but also shows several corner adjustments and aesthetic changes made to the Montreal track. This Sunday, F1® drivers, including George Russell (who’s looking to secure that Virtual Grand Prix Championship), return for the final Virtual Grand Prix on F1® 2019. You’ll be able to catch this all live on Sunday, 14th June from 5pm BST, with the F1® Esports Pro Exhibition race, before the Virtual Grand Prix gets underway at 6pm BST, on F1®’s YouTube channel. Fast lap times are not loading (table remains empty)
Sir_Overtakesalot replied to vTeritron's topic in F1 Chat
I'm on ps4 and I still encounter issues with TT. Sometimes when I enter and choose a car, I'll view the Leaderboard of a track before I enter the track to hotlap. What happens is no times load and I'm stuck with a downloading content message that never goes away. If I then exit the Leaderboard screen and try to enter a track, I'm met with a loading please wait screen that also doesn't go away. I'm then forced to restart my game as there is no other option. This has been an ongoing issue for months. It won't be fixed because if it hasn't been by now, they don't know how to or just don't care. It's been happening alot lately. -
As you can see the forecast says sun and cloud for the session but below it says the track and air are both wet/raining which was actually correct. Swear this has been a glitch since day 1?

Flickering issue especially between loading screens
Carystus posted a topic in Gameplay Issues and Bugs TA
Hi I play F1 2020 on PS4 Pro and since the last update I get a lot of flickering on the screen, I first thought it was my TV but this only happens playing this game. It is present during races but a bit less noticeable as there is flickering from cameras etc. But this is a different flickering, like its struggling, lagging. Its almost like a turning off an old TV type flicker. If you can check into this it would be greatly appreciated, it definitely affects my eyes after a while. -
solution offered ECO DUMPER crashes every 5 mins on PC....
Hammer306 replied to Skatzi14's topic in Systems and Connectivity TA
I FINALLY fixed the issue. Yes!! After days and days of trial and errors, completely rebuild my system, many many drivers uninstall/reinstall, a clean install of everything, and lots of google searches, I isolate the issue to be system memory. Well, the memory in my system was fine, however in the bios they were configured to use the XMP overclock profile. Its seems, F1 2020 does not like this setting and therefor was causing the game to crash at the black loading screen. I am very happy to have fixed this issue. since I updated the memory settings in the Bios to the stock settings, I have not had a single crash. -
PS4 Split-Screen Won't Connect Second Wheel
Chaynay replied to Chaynay's topic in Systems and Connectivity TA
Okay so let me draw out the setup for you. He wanted a setup connected with his theater. By theater, I literally mean a projector and full surround sound system and Savant as an automation control. We intend on getting a second PS4, so we can use the second racing wheel. They will most likely be playing LAN races. So no split screen anymore. However, instead of having a second display, we will use a device with 2 hdmi inputs, and 1 hdmi output, that will process the signals from both PS4’s and then combined them and project them out as one image, which would appear similar to a “split-screen”-like image. I can find one and list it here when I find a decent one to give you an idea of what I’m referring to. My issue with this unique scenario would be the “process time” might cause a significant input lag, and ruin the racing experience. -

The issue appears to be semi random. After the game crashes, I can typically replay the race I was attempting without issue. The issue will then occur again 1-2 races later. 5. Same problem for me. Bought the xbox game pass for PC and I cannot enter the game. Stuck in "Communicating with online services..." screen. So many complaints and for so long time! Why don't you provide a solution? If you continue to promote unreliable products and not pay attention to customers, you will drive them away from codemasters and xbox game pass. Hope to see a solution coming soon!

I'll only include the necessary templates because most are self explanatory. There are two screenshots, but this is an issue present in almost every track around the same time. Please let me know if this is actually fixable or not with an update, so if not I'll just let bygones be bygones. Thank you. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. Around noon lighting is so strong I can barely see the track and my livery, because everything shines as if a star just exploded in the sky. My car literally looks white sometimes and I can't see kerbs. Platform PC What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.13 Game-mode? Any What troubleshooting have you attempted? Adjusting my screen settings (but every other game looks fine). Adjusting Gamma level in game (in the pictures it's set lower than default to 0.85, but the issue persists. If I keep lowering then dark areas become too dark). Any screenshots or video of the issue?

Hello @Goaqi Responding with my experiences as I had a similar problem so maybe it helps. However, my issue was a bit different. I read you could play the game and fixed it by capping framerates. I could not even start the game, it would crash immediately. My solution is very silly in comparison to yours so maybe we had different causes of a similar thing but....it worked. TL:DR After 70 hours gameplay, F1 2020 would not launch from Steam. Kept crashing immediately with Ego Dumper log in both DX11 and 12 versions. SOLVED: by unplugging my PS4 controller from a USB port on my monitor (Dell U2713HM, in-built USB hub connected to USB 3.0 port on PC tower) and re-plugging into a USB port directly on my PC tower and allowing Windows to re-setup/configure the device via the automated process when plugging in a new device. The PS4 controller was working previously but I don't know if the port is dodgy. Other USB devices continue to work fine through it. In general, there seems to be a problem with F1 2020 choosing which input/controller it wants to use. When I launch the game with both PS4 controller and my X55 Rhino HOTAS (for Elite Dangerous) plugged in, F1 tries to make me use the HOTAS! I have to close the game, unplug the HOTAS and relaunch the game for it to "see" the PS4 controller. This seems related to my issue but I am not knowledgeable in these things. A detailed description of the issue. Please include any error codes here. F1 2020 would crash every time I tried to start it from Steam with an Ego Dumper error, both with DX11 or 12 version from Steam. Game would not even make it to F1 game splash screen. After either sending the crash report or not, would then return to desktop. Platform PC. AMD R5 3600, 32GB Corsair Vengeance RAM, AMD R9 390 GPU (old GPU I know but the game worked for months before this issue started). Running at 1080p on 1440p monitor. What version of the game you are using (Shown on the start screen in the bottom left corner of the screen) 1.13. Most up to date at time of the problem and writing. Game-mode? N/A Could not reach gameplay, game would crash immediately at launch. We need to be able to make your problem happen internally so we can fix the issue. Can you make the problem happen again? Not since I change the USB port for the controller. How do you make the problem happen? Try to launch the game from Steam What troubleshooting have you attempted? Please always try to attempt to fix the issue - Verifying game file integrity in Steam - Launch in Safemode - Launch in windowed mode - Delete hardware_settings_config.xml file - Uninstalling / reinstalling F1 2020 x 2. Once on the same SSD as when it worked, second time on a new SSD - Reverting the global graphics changes I had made previously in Radeon Adrenalin, including turning off Image Sharpening (I read on nVidia forums that people had this issue when they enabled Image Sharpening in Geforce Experience). - Rolling back the GPU drivers - Rolling back Windows Update - Clean Windows Reinstall #1, Updating Windows fully AND fully updating Radeon Adrenalin before reinstalling Steam and F1 2020. - Clean Windows install #2, NOT updating Windows fully after reinstall, NOT installing Radeon Adrenalin at all. NOT downloading any GPU driver from AMD website before reinstalling Steam and F1 2020. All had no effect. It might be important to note the PS4 controller was connected to my monitor via USB all the time during the above. Since it seems this was the cause of the problem then it makes sense the above troubleshooting made no difference. Then, after just unplugging the PS4 controller, the game worked as normal (with mouse and keyboard). And still works when I plugged the PS4 controller into a different USB port. What peripherals are you are using (gamepad, wheel make & model etc) PS4 Dualshock controller Any screenshots or video of the issue? If the video is long, please include a timestamp for when the issue appears. No Good luck

The casual mode can be put on even if I play with my friend with the split screen or not

v1.15 Halved FPS on Single screen but high FPS on VR
ToMythTo posted a topic in DiRT Rally 2.0 Support
After coming out 1.15 release i tried dirt rally 2 with my oculus rift s and got 80fps. But when i try it with single screen i get 35-40 fps. I have a high end pc (Amd 5700xt yzen5 3600 and m2 ssd etc.) Before this version and without my oculus arrived even with higher graphic settings; i was able to get 75Fps easiliy. I dont know if i changed something to work on VR affected the issue. I also tried advices on page with no luck; Any advice is welcome.
