Valid argument. However, here's something to think about. Codemasters are required as part of having the F1 gaming licence to release a new game every year. One of the complaints since F1 2010 (and MotoGP games suffered this as well) that the games were being released at the end of the season. So, wanting to please their fans, moved the annual release dates forward to June/July. Next, they had a new generation of console hardware and game engine to figure out and program the new game. On top of that, they were, admittedly, focusing on game modes like Pro Season which should never have been a thing but they chose to add it to please the hardcore sim racer crowd but ultimately failing.

Here's what I think happened: They brought the release date forward for F1 2015 and made F1 2014 a stop-gap title to focus on the next-gen hardware and new game engine for F1 2015. But along the way, they encountered problems and bugs along with trying to implement too many game modes and a new hopper online system while also having a closer release date. In the end they released an unfinished game so to speak because they were limited in what they knew in how to program and to design errors.

Now that the June/July release is standard they'll have a better time developing the game. I'll stand by my previous statements that we need to stop with the other company will do better statements and how F1 2015 was as good as it could be in that state. But I will say that I would have rather even just for the sake of a career mode have Career, Quick Race, Online and Options instead of Pro Season and 2014 cars which no one ended up playing. 2015 was an off year and 2016 will 100% be better. Remember, it could always end up like F1 2009 again in terms of physics and graphics.
Agreed that I would rather have that simple format of career, quick race and online, I think everyone would be happy with that, in terms of just what we want from the title i would not debate with you, however, going back to your first point, do you personally think it was a good idea to bring the release date forward for the following year when they were working on a next gen game? If they had worked on it until November they may have a perfect understand of what there doing now and could have transferred there good work to the 2016 version for an early release with only livery and driver updates to do, this would leave everyone a winner and customers feeling very happy with what they paid into, instead they are only around 5-6 months to there next release date and are still desperately trying to work out where they went wrong and how to correct there current 2015 game, if they haven't got the current one nailed down, some 8 months after release, how can we guarantee that the f1 2016 title is going to be 100% better?
Personally, I see why they brought the release forward, but I concede that doing it in the first year of a new project on new consoles wasn't the best idea. I would've been fine if they pushed back the date, apologized and explained why with full transparency and had F1 2016 as an update instead THEN release F1 2017 earlier (presuming they still have the licence which I hope they do), but then again would most people be ok? Many have complained about the late release schedule, especially between F1 2013 and F1 2014, so would they have been ok with having yet another late release and only having a brand spanking new game in 2017? Probably not.

As for the last part of your statement, I agree, they may not have it down pat, but, and this is a BIG BUT, they may have known their mistakes after launch and have been working ferociously on F1 2016 since. I mean, surely there's no way that they could not re add Career Mode unless there was a licence issue, could they?

Look, after they released '13, everyone knew and Codemasters even explained '14 was more a stop gap as it was completely pared back to the bare essentials with little changing in Gampelay/Physics etc and the main updates being the new horrible noses and the 8 gears and new engine sounds.
Xbox has been around since '13 so I go on the assumption that from maybe Early 2014 until release they had most coders working on '15 and a few graphics guys or whatever working on the new shapes of the 2014 cars.
So almost 18 months lead time to release the game. No Doubt coding it was tough and the move to the new system's would have thrown up many issues, but wasn't part of the point of the PS4 and XBOX architecture that it would be easier to code across the three systems compared to before? Either way the main point I take from this is, if its not finished don't release it - and if you do at least call it a Beta and charge an appropriate price for it. 50+ pounds or the equivalent for a quality game, even yearly releases is completely fine if that game is keeping the gamers and also the online community engaged.

I'm not kidding when I say I have checked these forums more than play the game this year, I tried. I really did. I even took a leap of faith and went back to league racing, but the whole game became a joke. I couldn't overlook my horrible screen tearing when everything else was also failing. Everything good for me is negated by multiple other issues. The live tv style stuff is pretty cool, but we didn't get the update as we might have expected them, host settings seem to be completely messed up even now, multiple reported issues are simply not being looked at because its more important we get selling next years game than fixing this years.

Feel bad in a way for Jenny and Lozzy as they have to listen to us beetch and argue about everything, the online racers played off against career mode racers, PCvsXB1vsPS4 as we all fight to find out what the hell happened and why they can't seem to fix things without some other issue rearing its ugly head. Its just frustrating, moreso than the past as we eventually had a little stability with F1 2010-2014 that leagues were viable. Right now leagues can run but there is a lot of dodgy stuff ruining it, guys for a time could run assists even if they were forced off and the new corner cutting host bug. Someone said that was on the PS4 already so they knew about it and still we get the same issue on xbox. Laughable.

I keep acting like it will somehow make a difference, but in the UK I can hand 2016 back within the first month for a full refund if its not doing what it says on the tin. Codies would need to be careful how they word their agreements lol. I can't imagine what it would be like if there was a similar situation to 2015 where much of the game remains unfinished or in need of optimization or simply bugged all to hell like this years. If 20,000 returned the game thats a Million that has to come from somebodies pocket! Best to just take your time, test aggressively and release a complete game and maybe win back some good will.

/rant TL;DR

I understand your stance on it and I really hope for both our sakes (and for everyone else feeling let down with f1 2015) that they know what's wrong and have done the leg work to make 2016 there best title yet, However there track record (with patches at least) have proven that when they fix one issue they create several more, will that be the case for f1 2016?
Will we see a completely new set of issues to deal with for the 2016 game?

@Verstappening people write those things because it's their opinion! Freedom of speech etc! Much in the same way as you think the opposite... Consider that before you rant!
FACT this game is poor... Anyone who paid full price for it has every right to vent! It's unnacceptable. Look at what rival studios are doing with P.Cars and Forza 6! Innovation and new ground, while F1 removes key features and lacks content while the remaining game is bugged to hell!
If people don't complain, then how will things improve? How will CM notice how unhappy the players are? It's bad publicity for CM and an opportunity for another studio to notice!
