SS1-4 was great for being me on tarmac, managed to almost keep up with @Snaky115!
Stepped off a bit since I was fairly uncomfortable in the rain on SS5, but went quite OK anyway. Until the final corner, where I took the penultimate corner a tad too fast and had to cut the last one a bit, and of course I got thrown into the woods and a reset.
I lost my feel completely for SS6, no rhythm at all. Went off in silly ways 3-4 times.
SS7 was dry and I regained my composure a bit.

Overall quite happy with Germany, starting to get somewhat of a feel for tarmac. As long as it's dry, that it.

Congrats @baunau, you've already secured the season win and can start musing on what cars to go for next season! Well driven! :-)
There's still a fight going on for the runner up spot though, with @Snaky115 and @Ferranis being tight on points and a small possibility for me and @Dannyboy1988 to get involved.

GG Baunau, you dominated one event more than i expected. I am still on track to rest an entire season after this one, just to be on the safe side.

Whales is next... Oh man. That will be tricky, as i was not prepared to win Germany so convincingly lol.

Its so lonely doing the event first.
Had a good drive throughout, no big mistakes after an offroad error in S1 that ate up 12 seconds while maneuvering back up onto the road.
That was a frustrating start to the event but a pretty fast run for the Alpine overall.
Hopefully fast enough to keep up with the 70's cars.
:)

Wales went OK for being me in a 70s RWD. Couldn't keep up with @Headquake, but did a fairly controlled run. Just two small spins overall, but sadly the 2nd small spin on SS7 managed to touch a bystander so got a reset there.

Tried to analyze how to go faster, and I really need to learn control at high speed. Slow parts are OK, medium speed parts feel like they go well, but as soon as I start pushing in the fast sections I have to step off or I feel like I have no control at all.

WELL. That was poor. The bounce luck was ATROCIOUS on Bronfelen/River Severn and SS6 my very numb Finland setup was over-reacting to input?!!!! SS1 didn't do that. So confused.

Apparently won SS7 - didn't help me beat Dytut, however.

BTW, should we pause the DRC over the holidays?

Maybe do a holiday themed event just for fun and resume the serious business in january?

Normally, people have more time during the holidays, I would think. Except of course those that are on holidays... Maybe someone even wants to break in a shiny new wheel or pedals? So I'm biased to business as usual.

Whatever event falls into Christmas days - extend it a day or two. Otherwise - eh, imma rest my arm for an entire season, use it for eating not racing. :D

A bit sick over weekend with a cold.
Today a bit better and did Wales. Well, iit didn't went well, just that little of the pace with reacting to late, turn in to late, that is what feeling bad does with you and the game. I normally can do about 2 minutes better than this. But it is what it is. Probably on normal form in a few days.

I finished the season in style - with another retirement. After two good stages, I had another good half of the third before I left the road and got stuck while trying to get back. Lost 15 seconds there and and got hit with another 15 by the wonderful automatic reset.

After that I went into suicide mode (for better drivers: maximum attack, as Markku Alèn always called it) and naturally crashed heavily soon after. After staring dully at the screen for a while, I retired.

Congrats and well driven @baunau! The rest of us were left in the dust! Looking forward to seeing what cars you will choose for the next event.
And congrats to @Snaky115 for holding on to 2nd, hope your hand will heal well!

If it's OK with everyone I think we'll set up a season of the DRC with 4 days per event over christmas and new years, should give time for everyone to enjoy the holidays :-) I'll set it up to start on monday the 26th, as soon as we know what cars baunau chooses.

Yeah did anyone catch the results? I forgot to save the event id's so can't check afterwards. Did @Ferranis beat me in Wales or did I manage to hold on to 2nd?

Apologies for my absence and silence, haven't had much time to spare between work and day-to-day matters lately, unfortunately.
I'm having a hard time deciding on which cars to choose for the next one and decided to have a look at previous seasons to see what the DRC has been through so far:
  1. 2000s
  2. 1970s
  3. Group A
  4. 2010s
  5. 1980s
  6. 2010s
  7. Group B (RWD + 4WD), except 205 and S4
  8. 1960s
  9. Open (all classes)
  10. Group A, F2 Kit Car and R4
  11. 1970s + Alpine
Since we've been doing a lot of mixed classes lately, it's difficult to avoid re-doing some recent cars, so...
Even though I'd love to have another go with the 80s class again, I think I'll suggest going back to where it all started (before my time in this league) and go for the 2000s class. In my case it'll be either the 2001 Focus or the C4 as those are the two I've spent the least amount of time with.

...aaaaand Monte done in the C4!

Just two small moments, but felt slow overall. Will see how it stacks up in the end, but I guess a 6-7th place finish in the end.

Ended up choosing the C4 as well since I rarely drive that thing (except for the odd daily) and did a few shakedowns so I could get my head around it and tune it more to my liking.
Got off to a great start on SS1 and 2 where I was able to hold my own against you speed-demons, but disaster struck on SS3 when I managed to get stuck (after some pinball action) and was forced to reset my way out. Lost about 20 seconds on that + me getting a bit hot-headed afterwards as I frantically tried to push on in an effort to catch up (...which I knew was an exercise in futility).
Got back into the groove on SS4 and onwards, but kept loosing more and more time so I'm currently sitting in 5th place right on the heels of @roustabout.

Hope I can make a new clamp for my T300 before the next event, the threads of the original clamp finally gave up last night. The clamp design of that wheel is a quite shoddy design in retrospect.

Battling a nasty cold, I started out good, but soon mistakes began to mount. In SS6 and SS7, my concentration was gone for good. I overshot hairpins, spun, beached the car at least twice and was lucky to see the finish line. Some others didn't, so the result looks better than my driving was.
