Started off decently in Sweden, but hade a big spin beaching the car on SS2.
But on SS4-6 I had some real troubles getting used to the lower visibility when running the game on ultra. The fog and snow is far more dense than on low settings I used to run on my old computer, and I really have a hard time adjusting. Doesn't help that I've forgotten a lot of the stages aswell, so can't rely on memory. On the other hand, great training for D4 where it's time to start paying attention to the codriver again :-)
Yeah, you and @baunau both put my times to shame on the first stage. (him all the way through) i figure I'm at least getting a good consistency going.

The added fog and weather effects are great on high. Totally worth the loss of visibility for how immersive they are.
Yeah you really have gotten consistently fast now, good to see :-)

Weather effects on ultra are completely awesome, I love it. I think that it's just the nature of the set stages in DR; I've learned to drive the stages so I have subconscious visual cues for braking points even though I've tried to still drive by the codriver calls. So 2 years on low settings gets messed up when the visibility changes and I just didn't have the confidence. Can't wait for D4 where we can't learn the stages to the same degree, going to be very interesting to see if it switches up the leaderboards :-)

Money. I just can't justify it yet. Only after i get out of my parents house i could.
Ahh, I see. It's to bad you aren't in the US i would give you a good deal on my old g27. I still could but shipping would probably suck.
You dont wanna know the shipping price. Shipping cost for my R9 280X from US to LV cost 70 USD with the cheapest option we both could find. And that's just a videocard. :D

I have an old functional but slightly wonky Logitech Momo wheel that's just collecting dust if you want it. I think it still works.

Ah, Sweden... That was great fun, indeed. Nothing better than  those quick 360 degree spins. Love it, really.

Now, I did some math this time.

SS1: 1 spin.

SS2: 2 crashes, 1 of them a really big one which left the car finlandlike crippled

SS3: 1 spin

SS4: Spins. A lot. 5 at least. And one roll. Not. A. Good. Stage.

SS5: 1 spin. (But 12 or 13 seconds faster than SS2)

SS6: No spin, but came to near complete stop in a snowbank.

SS7: 1 spin.

That doesn't include hitting snowbanks and losing small amounts of time in them. I mean, hey, I still had to drive in between taking notes. Mental notes, of course.

That's 13 noticable mistakes. If the big crash counts for 10 seconds and everything else for 5, that could have been 70 seconds faster. That would be a pretty third place. So it's just fifth right now and I'm really surprised I'm not dead last.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Slightly Wonky in what way?
I can't quite remember right now. I think it was a little bit loose, so there was somewhat of a deadzone, and the FFB is old so it's not smooth.

Yup, I can't wait to really be on my toes at all times. While I think a good portion of my improvement is car control I still wonder how much it's also the fact that I generally have all the major corners basically memorized at this point.

Really can't wait for dirt 4 and dirt 4 leagues at this point. Actually took Friday and Monday off from work for it even.

Greece completed. Felt like I definitely could go faster but didn't have the confidence to floor it in lots of areas. The only off was the turn before the last hairpin on the last stage. Went in to hot and when I hit the bump before it i went way further than I intended and was left with no room to even turn. Got lucky it didn't reset me to stage, lost probably 5-10 seconds there as the reset counter got down to 8 before I was fully back on the road.

While it was a consistent run with few big mistakes I don't expect it to stand up to the rest of you.

This is gonna suck. Stage 1 my Escort PB is 11-12 seconds behind my Integrale PB. And it feels way more heavy on Greece than i remember. Already lost 10+ seconds on stage 2 due to it. Hmm... Gotta slow down to not retire with how random Stage 2 crashes were.

EDIT: What the hell is this car doing?!!!!
EDIT2: After i turned it into a Square and slow Sierra, won the final stage of the event. This car woke up hard after max ride height, full RWD bias, fully locked rear and fully open front.

Got my wheelstand pro today, so still getting used to the slightly different driving position. But went suprisingly well. Only big incident was on SS2 where I managed to go a little bit tight on the last double caution 5 left over crest before the finish, and got rewarded by getting bumped straight into reset land. Had some small moments on most other stages, but mainly 3-4 seconds lost on them.

Lately have a lot of problems with my computer. First I thought that the games freezes but it's the computer who does that. So today ordered a new pc.

In the meanwhile did the Greece event. My pc rewarded me with a blue screen (yaikes it gets worse) so had to start from scratch at SS1. Not really in the mood anymore I wasn't very fast.

If anything good timing for a computer upgrade right before dirt 4 release.

Greece: The first 2 stages were not bad, although I had one spin and one roll, losing precious time. In SS3, another spin followed. Got furious, had another crash and went off at the wrong place.

That Integrale surely likes to spin. Or maybe it's me.

Nah, that car spins on me too. Main reason I like the 95 Subaru, a little understeery but really consistent. Plus can tune some of that understeer out.

Finished Finland, was pretty quick with the exception of a couple mistakes on a number of the stages, the worst being ss3 where I got spun around twice and actually had to reverse to get going the right way.

No huge crashes but a number of times I clipped the side if trees or other objects causing the spins. Got a puncture from one of the spins but was in the last sector so didn't completely ruin the stage.

Unsure where this will land me but hopefully it's competitive.

Well I had a bad SS1, where I made a small mistake that didn't cost me much time but smashed the car a little bit. This made something very strange in the suspension, so had some really weird behaviour for SS2-3. Managed to keep it decently fast anyways somehow.  After service SS4 felt quite good, but on SS5 the fast part somehow managed to mess up my suspension again, so it felt quite weird. This became all the more apparent on SS6, where a small compression launched the car into the woods and gave me a rear left puncture. That puncture messed me up even more a while later where  a slow slide into the road side gave me a second puncture on the front right (even though I hit the front left :-P ).

But yeah, Finland really makes me long for the D4 aero.

Yeah, I can't wait for Michigan with fast straights without rocket ship jumps

4 of the stages I could keep up, 3 srages I lost 25-30 seconds. But the fact itself I kept the cossie on the road is good enough.

I'm never comfortable in Finland, so the plan was to have a clean run and not take any risks. That worked. At least for the most part.

SS1 was sort of slow, SS 2-4 much better. SS5 saw the first two spins, but I was only 5 seconds slower than on the first pass. In SS6, I had a crash early on and got a rear wheel puncture. I decided to keep going and in the end lost 1.40 to the fastest time. A lot of time, but stopping, changing the wheel, time loss because of the crash and my usual not so fast pace would have left me nearly 2 minutes adrift, I guess.

SS7 was clean again, but it's last place right now, of course. Once again I noticed that my times are much more competitive in rainy and overcast conditions in Finland, while I just can't control most cars in the dry.

Completed Germany, felt quicker than I normally am but did have a reset to stage in ss3 right before the square right and instant square left about half way through the stage. Went in way to hot and didn't even have a chance to turn.

This was my first event with a new computer. Man it makes a difference. No stuttering and less wheelturning because I don't have to (over)compensate for the stuttering. And the game looks different because now most settings are on ultra (I now have a geforce 1070). In oktober a buy a new wheel (now an old DFGT) and new monitor (22" now).

Well the event. Had to get used to the difference in the beginning, an off in SS1, a too slow SS2 and again off in SS3. Then i got it and won SS4, 6 and 7, just pipping @kildog for second.

Yeah, it's amazing what a difference a smooth high fps can bring. Why I'll never understand the view some other devs take of all eye candy at 30 fps for racing games.

After a pretty bumpy and half-spinny first half, i absolutely floored it for 2nd half and then out of tiredness made a silly mistake on the last stage. Now have to wait for the Integrales to go and mock the fat escorts. D:
