I tried cockpit view at release of dr2, but the light effects made it too hard. I give it a try if it is better by now else I skip this season.

O well,  fgs just give me VR... 😀

Thanks for the season guys, and really impressive driving @skuzza187. I really need to step up my game to try and keep up with you 🙂 And big thank you to @SkyRex who makes this happen 🙂

I will go with the "Rising Sun" as my choice for next season!

The Next Season Launch is postponed for now. There is a bug in the
Website and it doesn't allow to setup a championship with Wales in it... Now we wait until this is fixed

I would really consider to let people choose their preferred cam view despite having 3 more voices for enforcing it.

I voted for yes I believe, but changed my mind and can't change it anymore.

That would maybe keep more people away than expected and it doesn't really matter for performance, right?

Personally I use the cockpit view, so it doesn't effect me anyway.

I agree.

So I did a little test on a few locations. Must say dashcam wasn't as difficult as I expected. So, it is a go for me.

It is on hold currently until Wales becomes selectable in Club Page anyway, so more training time for everyone.

I am setting up the next Season now as we speak. It will start on:

WE 07.08.19 00:00

Class: Group A

Season: "Rising Sun"

First Conditions: - not selected - defaulting to Sunny

Only Dash/Cockpit, Assists Allowed, Hardcore Damage
Let's see how many don't pick the Evo 😄 Good Luck to everyone!

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sadly, I can see that I will miss at least the last 4 Rallies, as I will be on vacation. Will still try to snack away some points from the champ contestants until then 🙂

Hmmm...I'm thinking of using the Impreza.

For some reason I always mess up with the Lancia, so I better stay away from it for now 😄

Well, bricked first stage because mid-stage i went "Wait.. aw shucks i left OBS to record Display not the Game" -Alt tabs into a crash- "Oops."

Chase cam boi is not pleased with cockpit cam lock however. :classic_laugh:

EDIT for video! Retired some stages later due to a bad bad bump.

Phewww...

Well, the driving itself felt very confident and the Evo is just so predictable to drive. Unfortunately I hit a rock and had to change tyre in Stage for, where I collected 1 min penalty. Still managed to hold on to second though, which makes me quite happy. My (Poland-WR-)setup also works very well here, at least in the stages where it didn't get reset. Still the cumulating damage for almost clean runs is really annoying, especially due to the cracked windscreen...

For those in the League seeking some Setup advice:

And a nice screenshot from my run through Stage 7:

For me it was the first long rally with VR. Still problems with framerate due to steamvr and the wheelsettings ars not spot-on yet. Still some good sectors. And some bad one... But with VR, just as in dr1, I don't have a lot of big crashes like I have when using a monitor. 3e overall at the moment is good with first-time-VR.

There seems to be a bug with the shown events 02-10.. maybe carried over from last championship... But the total number is correct it seems.
Shouldn't be like this i assume though

@SkyRex

Well, that looks strange...but it's not the only bug on the site, so I'm not surprised.

Event 1: New England

After the first stage it looked pretty good for me, didn't made big mistakes and was just behind SkyRex. At this point I already read here, that he had a puncture and will lose a minute at some point. And this was my problem: I got nervous and made several mistakes in the 2nd and 3rd stage, even rolled over once, but no puncture or time penalty. But by the end of the 3rd stage (last 2 or 3 sectors) my engine was saying "not like that my friend" and sounded terrible. The damage was huge and I couldn't repair most of it in the service area. So while the car handled well, I lost around 20% on power for the next 3 stages (the white bar for engine was less than half). Did not made many mistakes anymore and tried just to finish as clean as possible. At the next service stop I could repair most of the car and the white bar for engine was magically almost filled up, strangely. So for the last short stage I was pretty fast again. All in all I could have won that event at this point without these stupid mistakes in stage 2 & 3, but thankfully an alien came in the last hours and put nearly 2 and a half minutes on everyone. Impressive. And frustrating 😄

Event 2: Catamarca Province

Well, pretty unspectacular this time. No big mistakes, just a few smaller ones. No punctures or time penalties. Used medium tyres and had just shortly before the end of the 3rd & 6th stage slightly grip problems. Could have been faster here and there, but not much I think. Hopefully it's enough for a podium this time 😄

Very clean run, as in, less than 20 minutes repair every time, for some soft tyre shenanigans. Lost grip surprisingly late, middle of 3rd/6th stage only and even then was still gaining time. GO ESCORT! :classic_biggrin:

If only i didn't brick my New England run, lol.

This was a very unlucky one... good first stage, audio cut out on stage 2, started the game again but default setup at stage 3. At the beginning of stagd 3 again audio cut out. Those 2 audio problems was already a minute.

Started the game again but forgot the setup.... in stage 5 for no reason a flat tire, hit nothing. This was again a minute. Stage 7 with my own setup went well.

Well this has not been my season so far. Managed to puncture in the USA, and of course got bitten by the setup bug. I hade set up to have a spare wheel, but apparently the game just dropped it for me so I had no spare and two stages to go. So retired 😛

Argentina was hard, especially with the setup bug making the scoobie into some kind of nongripping monster in argentina on the stages where it gets reset. Add to that darkness for the first loop and it was pretty bad. Tried to recover on the second loop, but got a puncture on SS5 when the setup was reset and I misheard a pacenot. Went out on SS6, tried to push, but slidey-slidey setup let me slide straight out of a hairpin. Another puncuture and I had used my spare on the previous stage.... Oh well, managed to limp to the finish line at least 😛

Can't wait for that bug to be fixed in 1.8. And the audio cutout bug, I've started getting that one in 1.7 aswell. I just upgraded windows to 1903, so suspect the audio bug might have something to do with that.

Auduo bug never happened to me before windows upgrade, so probably you are right there

Super bricked Wales on stage 2, Stage 1 went smooth-ish, Stage 2 i misremembered a corner and flew into a tree at 180kmh. Oops. :X

Standings after Argentina

-----------------------

Wales went surprisingly well. Was really really cautious on the wet mud and then pushed a bit harder on the dry. Still had 4 very close calls, a sound cutout and several late brakes, but it all worked out fine.

Event 3: Powys

Well...that was an absolute mess. As soon as I entered the woods in the first stage I made one big mistake after another. I misjudged the grip level several times and crashed into trees. The engine was already smoking at the end of the stage. The second stage was ok, but in the third stage I made another big mistake and the engine was done after around the half. Made it to the finish, repaired what I could and tried to just finish like in New England. The car was so heavily damaged, after every bump and jump it behaved unpredictable. In stage 6 I somehow got stuck beside the road for several seconds and had to reset to the road and got 8 seconds time-penalty for that. Stage 7 was ok, my speed was good, but the car not. Meh. Neeext 😄
