DRC | DiRT Rally Championship | The Forum's Club

Recommended Posts

I don’t know stages of Scotland at all and I enjoy driving them listening to the pacenotes so much! It is The only rally giving me different experience than the rest. Sometimes calls are a bit late but this just adds more excitement and I love it! 😅

I overshoot one junction and got 1 minute penalty for reset - is it normal? For me it was the first time ever playing DR 2.0 and getting such a big penalty.

I would do a more "serious" club like this but i know its just a matter of time before racenet starts to act up again. Now i just move on if stuff like that happens but if i dedicate myself to run a club everytime its a new country and stuff like that happens id just be frustrated.

I was one of the loudest, when RaceNet was failing pretty much every weekend and on sales and new releases.
But since more than a month there wasn't a single problem with RaceNet for me.
At least 6 weeks now, longest time in a row since release of the game.

Yes, depends on how fast you were and how far off the track when resetting on track.
Got a minute time penalty in finland a while ago.

Were you've been in USA? 😥

Now my usual summary 😄

Finland:
Did several test runs before to get better feel for the car on that track.
On SS1 I was very cautious, but also quite slow.
Same on SS2: I was more than 8 seconds down after the long straight with those huge jumps and tried to push a bit more to not fall far behind.
But I crashed and got a puncture...
SS3 was just driving slowly on 3 wheels. Still crashed a few times.
Car was completely broken at the service area, could only repair engine and radiator and still got a time penalty for that.
SS4-SS7: Car was slow and had basically no turbo. Some crashes still happend.

Scotland:
Did some test runs before, but was unreliable like Finland.
SS1 was ok, but cautious. Barely could follow @Dytut's pace.
SS2 and SS3 were pretty god and fast. Was on a run now.
SS4: Hit a tree stomp on the left in the 4th(?) corner, got punched to the right into the ditch and crashed against a log.
I could brake a bit, so the impact wasn't that big, but still puncture on the front right.

Drove on 3 wheels until the finish in SS6. Was quite good, no crashes, spins or whatever. Car was also ok, except the missing tyre, lol.
SS7 was quite good, could fully repair the car and was quite fast.

I was sure by now the championship was gone, because I was 3 minutes down, what would have been possible for me here.

USA:
WHAT A RALLY! 😄
That was a really close battle all the way between me, @Dunoon and @denim398!
Unfortunately Dunoon seemed to have crashed in SS5. I crashed there too midway through.
Even with a roll, but only cost a few seconds and no real damage.

I was slightly too fast and touched the outside hill and rolled slowly and back on the wheels 😄
Right after the finish on SS7 I thought I lost to denim398, only realising seconds later that I lost the time to Dunoon and gained on denim398.

Wohoo! 2nd rally win this championship and now leading!

Unfortunately I was not able to start in USA because I had no time to do it... 😞 I’ll do Monte and skip Sweden as I hate this rally and not even want to bother about as it makes me furious 😂

Wow, made a completely **** setup apparently. First leg was completely undriveable, no idea what I was thinking. Changed half the car setup on a whim at mid service and it was OK after that. But I lost about a minute from sheer setup incompetence in the first leg.

Not to bad in montecarlo ! 3rd place for me !! it's the first time since i am in this club that s clearly awesome ! The final battle in sueden against @Snoopy43 will be interesting but that s my worst country  so i think i will loose more points ! It will be a great fight too for the first place ! Wait and see ! Good luck everybody !

Final race of the season done!

Finally managed to get a working setup, and the car wasn't too unpredictable! Managed a clean run that felt decently fast, and with very few moments. Biggest moment was on SS7 where I overshot a bit due to the worn tyres and lost a few seconds.

No Sweden for me. This is my least favourite rally and I don’t want to be furious so I just skip it. Unfortunately I had no time to start in Monte Carlo... so it is what it is 😉

Here are the results of this season:

Congrats to @UnderclassGDfan for 1st,
@Dytut for 2nd

@Freddygore 3rd

@Snoopy43 4th

and @baunau 5th

All of you are now eligible for the established choices, from 1st to 5th.
I'd say you have until the end of Monday, I'll setup next Season on Tuesday for a Midnight launch in a week from now on Wednesday.

P.S. Sorry for not much competing from myself this season, got other things in my life going on and DR2 is currently not amongst the priorities.

Grats @UnderclassGDfan! Fun fight throughout the season 😄

Now for the next season, I will choose a car that I actually enjoy. The Subie '08 was simply horrible to drive, definitely my least favourite car of the game.

As for the next season, I choose "Shifted year"!

Wow.
I won, wohooo 😀
That was really close, I mean REALLY close!

Monte Carlo was pretty good, had only one almost terminal crash in SS3, but a tree and a car saved me 😄

Sweden was a small disaster, because I did several mistakes in SS2, SS3 and especially in SS4, but I was also way too slow at all times.
I was a bit shocked about your dominant performance here, @Dytut!
Denim saved my championship, because something must have happend in SS7, because he was also faster than me throughout the rally.

So, for the next championship:

I don't wanna choose R5, H3 RWD, Group A and 2000cc, because these were the last four classes we had.

And I don't like FWD classes that much, so these classes are not an option for me.

So I think it's time for some RWD-Action again!

The winner is: H2 RWD!

What do I get to choose? 🤔😅

You may forecast the Weather-Rally (Pick one location and cherry-pick the weather options to your liking. Night has to be less than 50% though)

Australia will be really interesting, probably the first time I really think of using medium tyres.

Anyone already decided what car he uses?

I think, I will use the Kadett.
Not 100% sure yet, I really like all 4 of them, but...I dunno...arrgh! 😄

I wanted to use the Escort, but picked the Kadett, the back end is just slightly more predictable than the Escorts.

I'm going for the Fiat. Don't want to fight the car another season, so even if it's slower I'm going to enjoy the Fiat a lot more 🙂

No drama or mistakes in Germany. Took the Escort, just because it has the best sound 😀

Terminal damage in SS1.

Was on the absolute limit of my pace and pretty much on par with @Janneman60 throughout the stage.
Lost control on a (more or less) long straight with a jump.
Came on the grass on the left and crashed in 5th gear against a stone, done.

I see that as a sign and thinking of not to compete further in that championship.
Well see, pretty hard disappointed right now.

The weather here in germany is absolutely bad for playing games at the moment.

Rally Scotland I feel I am still learning were to be fast and were not. I share the setup with Poland as it has the same variation of tarmac, gravel, sand and some fast parts.

Nevertheless I crashed halfway stage 1, not a heavy crash but lost about 10 seconds to @UnderclassGDfan, I took seconds back on ss2 and lost that on ss3.

Starting ss4 I decided to no longer try to hold on with the speed of @UnderclassGDfan as I knew I would crash again. So I was a bit slower in the first sectors and then he crashed out of the rally. Exactly what I was afraid of to happen.

Now there was no pressure anymore and I brought the car home in one piece.
