Internal Testing Details f12016 questions

Recommended Posts

as the topic seems to have recently closed i have some query's on this and have a few question for the derv team

1. you have postponed giving out testing details on a number of occasions now it has been pushed back what are your reason for this? and why?

2. do you plan of inviting high profile you tubes  along to your studios to boost sales of the 2016 game? (because from what i'm gathering these the guys which are going to be invited not the normal hardcore racer)

3. what aspects of the game are going be tested

4. do you plan on making the pad and wheel equal given the advantages of the pad on 2015?

5.with the shambles of multiplayer the season what do you plan on doing to improve stability of the game online? do you plan of still using peer to peer or you going invest in some dedicated servers for the online game modes?

6. with recent patches  being dismal/poor quality and creating more issue than fixing them what are your palns for this game and the guys who have invested there hard earned cash into purchasing this title

7. is 2016 going be better than 2015 and be bug free or you going release a broken game again

8.Ipersonally feel that 2016 won't be much better than 2015 with the poor patches and the quality of 2015 and fact you haven't found a solution for 2015 online stability and glitches or got anywhere near to fixing the game why should we purchase 2016 knowing you haven't fixed the previous title yet?

9. do you plan of reintroducing the safety car back in to 2016?  having no safety car in 2015 is like purchasing fifa then realising there is no ref total waste of time

guys feel free to add some question its about time we get some answer but guess what they'll most probs ignore this thread or just close the topic typical codemasters

1 - The initial time frame has been pushed back because one of the main features we want people to play wasn't in a good enough place to get good feedback.

2 - We plan to try to get feedback on the game from a variety of players and also to try to engage with members of the community so you all feel like we're not completely ignoring you all the time. Everyone seems to have this opinion that we'll just invite the YouTube guys with the most subscribers, that's not going to be the case.

3 - That's to be confirmed but we are aiming to get a variety of feedback from handling to game modes and everything in between.

4 - That's something for the handling guys to answer but my understanding is it's more or less impossible to achieve complete parity. Without the hidden assists it would be almost impossible to even drive the car on a pad.

5 - I've discussed peer to peer vs dedicated servers before. The latter isn't going to be a panacea. We know there are still problems that some people are seeing and we'll do our very best to address them. We've also got some nice improvements for multiplayer in the pipeline.

6 - I'm open to examples but I don't accept that the patches have introduced more problems than they've solved. We've fixed a lot of issues along the way and made changes that the community have asked for such as the strict rules option. What I think happens is you forget all the old issues that we did fix and focus on what's not been fixed or any new issues.

7 - I'd be lying if I said I thought it would be bug free unless we were going to bug fix for ten years. But I can hand on heart tell you we're in a much better position with the game now than we were much further in to the development of 2015 so I'm much more confident that we will release a quality game that's much more polished.

8 - I can understand why you would feel that way and we'll do our best to change your mind over the coming months.

9 - So I did. I can neither confirm or deny that it will be back next year at this time.

Also just noticed the bit about ignoring the thread or closing it which made me smile.

I do like your post Lozzy, but the patch before last patch could be argued to bring more bad things than good things, like the decreased online stability such as the little desyncs and mass disconnects or mass errors.

I think the virtual safety car should be in the game as an absolute minimum, if you look at all the threads over the last 6 months the most popular topic is why there is no safety car in the game and when / if you're going to bring it back.  It would seem you're not listening to the community if you don't bring it back...
Personally I'm looking forward to the next game, the current one is very enjoyable despite the bugs and lack of content.

Hey!

Just like @Lozzy said, the reason it's been delayed is because one of the main bits we want people to play wouldn't be ready for the time we originally said. It wouldn't be worth testing something that isn't ready to be tested!  Once we've got all the boring bits sorted, we'll let you know more, including who we're inviting. I'm not sure where this "you're only going to invite YouTubers" idea has come from though, because it's not from us :(.

We don't want to ignore you, and we're certainly not closing the thread. We do try and update where we can though, so it might be a good idea to check out our team meeting threads for more information in the future :).

Yeah, I thought so, even though in my opinion it should be, among other things of course, top priority. The safety car is, even more so in longer races, a very important factor after all.

Good stuff Lozzy and Jenny. It can be difficult dealing with a room full of crying kids, but you are holding up well.

@Gav25182 & @wheelman43 lets talk about the game instead of each other please.

Don't misunderstand me though, we know what people want to see in F1 2016.

Hopefully Lozzy 2016 will be incredible with all pad assist turned off so I can sit in my games room and watch and laugh as pad users try and complete a lap

I wasn't joking. Thread closed. You were warned.

It's a shame, because it would have been nice to keep this discussion about F1 2016 testing open.
