Will the Steelbook of the pc version be in a dvd box fomat or a bluray box format ?
For Fallout 4 it was in a bluray format and the pc version manual was to big to enter in it... :(

I'd love to Australia + US courts will, + The replays are saved so you can see them when you want.

That's IF there is a steelbook for PC. @ChristinaMc is going to check on Monday.
And even if it is, it might not be available in the UK.
Supermarkets tend not to stock brand new PC games at all, just the super budget ones that go on the spinning racks, so the news of Sainsburys as the sole UK supplier, and in-store only, isn't particularly promising.

Yeah... Not sure who thought this brain fart was a good idea.

Will be the first time I've tried to buy a limited edition game from a supermarket. At least it's only a 24 mile round trip for me to order it...

I think I'll just try the three nearest stores on the day, provided a PC version will exist, which will be a similar amount of driving, and hope for the best.
Can't really imagine anyone going to a supermarket to pre-order a game that isn't a massive AAA release like GTA, CoD, etc.
There would probably just be confusion even attempting it.

We'll see how it goes. It existing and Sainsburys actually stocking it are two different things.

Just waiting for the sales and distribution guys to get back to me - will come back here and share some info as soon as I know!

Went to my local Sainsburys yesterday to order my steel book. Unfortunately they know nothing about DiRT Rally and have nothing on pre orders.

I'll try again on launch day...

I'm actually kind of relieved to hear that, lol... In the sense that I feared that's exactly what it would be like and didn't want to risk a panic attack from the awkward social encounter. Seems like it was a good call.

Thanks for letting me know. They should absolutely know the details by now, considering the game's out in two weeks - so will ask our distributors to make sure the information is with every entertainment desk in-store ASAP. That's a huge inconvenience though, so sorry about that - not cool.

I'm seriously indecisive now: I have a pre-order with Amazon, but I know that everything is better when it comes in a shiny box, so I'm debating cancelling my order and making a journey to my local Sainsburys on the 5th!

Best thing to do is keep the pre-order and if you do manage to get the steelbook, just return the other copy straight to amazon.
No questions asked refund and they cover the cost of return shipping. You typically get the money back in 2-3 days.

Good call. There is a huge Sainsburys a few miles from where I live, so I'm thinking of a quick drive there before work to check the stock situation on the 5th. If it's no-go then my "regular" copy should arrive in the post later in the day!

(off topic: I'm far too old to be going to this much effort to get a game on the day of release! )

Why aren't CodeMasters selling the steelbook themselves? The only Sainsbury's near me doesn't have an entertainment department, the next nearest is 30 miles away and according to the website it doesn't stock games anyway. Then to top it off they don't do online orders. Surely this is the worst possible choice of retailer. I'm a sucker for a good steelbook, even though they normally come with a near useless artbook, I love DiRT games and have been anticipating the new gen debut. If CodeMasters offered it for online sale then the people who actually want could ensure they get hold of it, rather a bunch of ebay Dave @-holes with their profiteering mark-ups. Or at least sell it through a retailer that offers online sales.

Good point about the entertainment department, I just asked at the customer services desk as my local Sainsbury's has no entertainment department - for that I would need to go on a 100 mile round road trip!

So does that mean any store without an entertainment desk won't be able to order it?

What's not cool is, as you say with 2 weeks to go, that details aren't finalised and made known to eager customers. I sense an imminent Munsoning!

If this game is a salute to Colin McRae, then surely Australia & this....

If it weren't for that damned clutch!

I've no idea. I would hope any store will be able to order it. I'm going to try again on Friday.

That would be a dream. Just getting the Skoda would be enough for me
