New content coming to DiRT Rally!

Recommended Posts

Original post here: http://blog.codemasters.com/community/02/new-content-for-dirt-rally/

Great news! We’re delighted to be able to confirm that there will be additional content coming to DiRT Rally on April 5th, 2016, to coincide with the launch of DiRT Rally on PS4 and Xbox One. To showcase this new content, we’ve put together a brand new trailer - which you can take a look at right here:

In addition to the content we’ve added during DiRT Rally’s Steam Early Access programme, all players, whether you play on PS4, Xbox One, or PC, will now be able to enjoy some awesome new additions to the game when April arrives. New Classic Mini and Super 1600 series will introduce the thrills of rallycross from the beginning of the game, and we’ve added 21 advanced rally driving video guides which will help gamers maximise their rallying performance.

For the first time in the game, you’ll also be able to experience the vintage full gravel surface at Pikes Peak. And starting April 5th, you’ll also be able to take on Pikes Peak in the iconic Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak. Not only this, but three of Colin McRae’s most iconic liveries will join his Focus livery in DiRT Rally – allowing you to relive the exploits of a legendary rally champion and icon of motorsport. We’ve been waiting a long time to be able to bring you the Impreza livery – and we’re delighted to be able to say that the iconic fluorescent yellow and blue design is now at its spiritual home with DiRT Rally.

The DiRT team have also added seven extra cars, including some huge (and most-requested) fan favourites. The vehicles in question are...

- Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak
- Renault 5 Turbo
- Renault Alpine A110
- Opel Corsa Super 1600
- Peugeot 207 S1600
- Renault Clio S1600
- Mini Classic Rallycross

Console gamers pre-ordering the digital edition of DiRT Rally will receive both the Fully Loaded MINI Pack and the Fully Loaded Rallycross Pack, which unlocks the Mini Classic Rallycross from the beginning of the game.

We’re so excited that DiRT Rally is finally hitting consoles, we’ve also decided to release a limited run DiRT Rally Legend Edition, which will also be available from pre-order for today - and will also feature the Fully Loaded MINI Pack, which unlocks and fully upgrades the MINI Cooper S from the start of the game, gives an exclusive livery for the car, and provides a unique team mechanic with perks. For the die-hard fans amongst you, a super-limited edition DiRT Rally SteelBook, complete with Driver's Guide, will also be available to pre-order soon in some territories, so we’ll keep you updated on when this hits stores online. Just head to www.dirtgame.com and click 'BUY' to pre-order now!

As you all know, DiRT Rally is available now on Steam, but this exciting additional content will be powersliding onto your desktops and consoles on the 5th April 2016. We can't wait for you all to get your hands on it!

What I'd really like to know is... have they unlocked the categories at all, i.e. can you do Pikes Peak with non-Pikes Peak cars? Would open it up a bit!

No Quattro E2? *flips the table*

But on a serious note, this looks great. I loved the Alpine in DiRT 3, will really want to see how it fares in DiRT Rally. And naturally the additional Pikes Peak route... definitely gonna run the Quattro up there :D

And now the waiting begins. April can't come soon enough :D

There is a certain lack of a certain maker there.....

But more seriously, it seems that the Renault Alpine A110 STILL have the speedometer bug from DiRT 3 (same bug as the Stratos), I hope you will be able to correct it before release

Great News !
Any hint about the state of virtual reality support and optimization in this new version, which will come out right after the customer release of the Oculus Rift ?

Awesome!! Pikes Peak full gravel like it was in the 80´s, when the cars really were driving! This was one of my eager wishes.
Still hoping for the Audi Sport Quattro E2 to come as normal Group B car in the future, can´t await to hear its crazy engine sound and to see its moving bodywork at every throttle opening in the game :-)

Whelp, pre-ordered the PC Legend edition from Amazon UK.
I... assume that means it'd be the steel book version as long as the pre-order is made early enough?
It's really all kinda vague. The DiRT sites Buy page only provides links to suppliers, none of which mention a extra limited edition Steelbook version.

Hey guys, I've just looked into this - because as far as we were aware, pre-orders for this were supposed to go live yesterday. However after speaking with our distributor, it turns out it's not quite a done deal with getting it online and for sale.

I'll keep you posted on when this goes live for purchase, as it should be very, very soon - but it'll be for sale as the Steelbook edition. Really sorry for any confusion!

This is simulator.. yeah?.. so its all about driving experience.. yeah?..so maybe put some more work on physic side of this game, rather than adding more content.
