DiRT Rally Update - Version 1.04

Recommended Posts

Hello all!

At just after 11am GMT this morning, we released a small patch for DiRT Rally.

The patch will lay the groundwork for adding two new languages - Portuguese Brazilian and Russian.

Hello Christina!

I cannot find those languages

Hello! Apologies if it wasn't clear. We've not added the languages yet - the patch is just to ensure we can smoothly introduce them to the game at a later date. :)

Ah... OK. Thanks, Christina. It was my mistake :)

Slightly off-topic (ok, really off-topic) but is there any ETA on the Community Trailer?

Yes! It's currently with licensing - so if all that goes well, we're looking at sharing it in the next week or two. Start of March will be most likely, however. :)

What does it mean? Is it a simple text localization, or we will drive with Russian and Portuguese co-driver too? :open_mouth: I want to believe, because we have 5 different codrivers on 5 different languages at this stage.

can we please make it possible to change graphics options and sound options in replay after race .

most people record runs after doing them yet you cant change your graphics or audio in this period.simple thing but big difference if you recording.

Save replay option would be better call IMO. Even if this file will be Megabytes big  (as it is right now). I'm really starving for this feature especialy with conjunction with the fact that nV surround cannot be recorded in simply way (and often you don't need 3xFullHd video to upload into YT)

It's gonna be a bit of a grind before you can afford more cars. You can just race through carreer with the Mini/Fulvia, you can do custom events championships with them or you can drive dailys (in the main daily you are given a fully upgraded car for the run, so no need to worry about that)

well the mini or the fulvia are great cars to learn the game.
Try learning left foot braking as early as you can, it will help you later in the game (with the 4wd and fwd cars).
after you graduated to the higher difficulty levels, money will come raining down on you.

In Finland you don't, because they're slow enough and light enough to not hurt themselfs on those big jumps. On other tracks, however, it's business as usual. In some places you actually need to brake early, because they don't have the best brakes

Well, left foot braking has nothing to do with actual braking...
It's about weight shifting and car positioning, not slowing down.

Not exactly. Braking with your left foot is quicker than shifting right foot from accelerator pedal to brake pedal to slow the car down.

I have one question for the developing team of this extraordinary game......Guys are you forgetting something?? I mean about some cars ...some championship given cars .....i'm talking about the TOYOTA cars ( celica,corolla..etc.) ....Are you going to put them at the game....and if yes for a free update for Pc and free dlc for consoles or not?

No one has ever had a chance to forget them.
Yes they are missing.
No they are never going to be in DiRT Rally.
That ship has sailed.
It sucks and the lack of even a non-specific statement for such a heavily talked about absence is frustrating, especially when things have been said about other makes and the difficulties they present.
We know Citreon are difficult to work with, we know Audi won't allow anything but official liveries on their cars.

We don't know how an agreement couldn't be reached this with one of the most commonly featured manufacturers in gaming, despite those very cars being present in multiple other games from different companies in the past year.
It would be nice and understandable if it was as straight forward as a financial/budget issue, but since that's apparently not the case, we're left scratching out heads.
The whole thing doesn't sit right, which is why it's been the source of so much speculation.

But those are the cards that (most) of us have been dealt.
They are never going to be in DiRT Rally, and we're not going to know exactly, or even approximately, why.
There really isn't anything else to say on it now.

But it still makes me wonder why Milestone acquired licences for these cars an Codies won't. Mulder and Scully to investigate?

My guess is that it's money-related.
