Help us with F1 2015!

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

As some of you know, the Xbox One patch went live last night. This means that, as of last night, all platforms are up-to-date with the latest version. We want to know how you're getting on with F1 2015 as it is now - what platform you're playing on, what's working, what isn't and what could be better. Don't worry if you've already talked about it in another thread, though if you do want to talk specifically about corner-cutting, for example, in some detail, please do so in the relevant thread.

Thanks :)!

I do suggest this .. fix the disconnection issue we are having now and everything is cool for 2015
Then focus your efforts for 2016. Please do not follow Microsoft foot steps by releasing one good OS then follow it by 3 failures
Just thought of speaking out what I think

Thank you

@jennyannem what about that issues:

http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/39697/qualy-tyre-bug-after-the-patch-live-27-01-16-on-ps4#latest

http://forums.codemasters.com/discussion/38428/osd-failure#latest

And I would like to add that in Monaco and Singapur, appears warnings in straights if you run closed to the guardrail, I know that it is caused by the center of the tyre limits, but it is not good at all.

@Lozzy told me that OSD will not be fixed in F1 2015, and that you will have a look about Tyre bug on Qualifying.

This three issues are the most I wanted to be repaired before 2016, and in the 2016 the Safety Car implemented and maybe, I would buy the '16 game.

We have more important informations about the issue that I reported last week. It is a big setup issue. Please try this configuration on Ps4: Online invite-only session in Belgium with short qualify and 50% race, dry weather, car performance all the same, return to garage off, parc ferme on, car damage full, collisions complete, no brake assists and no pitting help. Use a FFB steering wheel (We don't known if with pad is the same but tried with Thrustmaster T300 and Fanatec CSR) and in car's setup put front wheel on 17,00 psi. Make a run with a clean lap and then return to the garage and change tyres. You can feel in the second run that the steering wheel is more instable in some curves (between eu rouge and radillon for example), the car is more oversteering and a little bit slower on straight. Is impossible remake a similiar or a better time of first run also if you increase the pressure. If you use 18,00 or more psi on front wheel in a new session, the issue doesn't appear. I can't see a logical reason for this effect except a setup bug because in the first run the car feeling is good and the difference is too big to consider human effect with same setup. Thanks, I hope you consider my report.

There is an annoying glitch I came across recently, I was in a qualifying session online and on my first lap discovered the buttons for my wheel were not as per the custom mapping I had, after my lap and went back to garage.
Whilst in the garage I accessed the pause menu and went to remap the buttons to my liking, unfortunately when I was pressing the buttons in the menu they were still applying to the game, I ended up driving out the pits again whilst in the button mapping window (with the same tyres which is why it was annoying).

Xbox one, online game, 50% race at Bahrain.

The game is ridiculously boring because there's absolutely no long-time motivation to play it without career mode. And when I say "career mode" I don't mean the "5 seasons" you put in a row in your past titles. At least it was better than 2015 but what we really need for Single Player is a realistic career mode where we have to start as a rookie and have to work our way up to a top team in 10 or more seasons. Driver have to change, teams should get better and worse depending on their development and so on.

if i am honest, i have pretty much stopped playing the game. i got half way through a third season using different difficulty settings and cars on each and it's just become boring.

last time i gave it a go it seemed a lot more of the major glitches had been fixed, but the overall package just does not have enough variety or challenge in it to keep me playing it.

might not be the feedback you are after, but i'm sure that is true for a lot of people.

Well, there is the qualifying issue, but at this point I sound like a broken record...
Number one immersion killer for me.
Yep. Along with some balancing issues between teammates (Ferrari in both seasons for example), weird pit strategies (which driver of the same team gets to pit first), and other tiny things, like the broken slipstream.

But, again, I sound like a broken record. I've already sent all (possible) issues with the game to Codemasters, and that's it.

The tyre glitch as already stated. End of qualifying showing spurous times that are not reality, random 10 or 5 second penalties.

As for offline, my biggest problem is the pit strategies for AI drivers. It was good all the way to probably patch 1.06 (or around that) but after that AI pits at least 1-2 times more than me. And if I'm correct, some people have had AI drivers pitting 9+ times which is ridiculous. I have pretty much stopped playing offline because of that.

For online, tire bugs and disconnections have been the biggest issues. Specially tire bug is quite irritating because different forms of it has been in the game for a long time (since the release?).  I had some connection problems last Thursday which we haven't had problems earlier and I am basing some of my comment on others that have had bigger problems and more frequently.

Things I like:
+++ Strict corner cutting rule (even with the few errors here and there which have been talked about in several topics)
++ The driving itself (w/ wheel). I really hope you don't do many changes in this area in the near future.

Oh yeah and I am playing on PS4.

PS4;

Biggest issues which should be fixed first

Little desyncs, if you put 2 videos side by side of the same moment, they are almost never the exact same on the 2 videos if you look car to car. Ow yeah, probably also what's causing the jump starts, very annoying as well (I would be in for having some control to react on the lights and thus not everybody starting at the same time, but that's a feature for 2016 or later I suppose)

Mass disconnects and errors and general stability which has decrased (meaning the instability has increased, while overall lag has decreased over patches)

The middle tyre thing with track limits, but is for another topic and probably not this game

PS: To the guy complaining about monaco guardrail, we didn't encounter this at all on Monaco. We haven't seen Singapore yet tho.

I really wish I had the motivation to help, but if I played this now,  the better half would assume I was in the middle of a stroke.
Stopped playing F1 2015 as nothing ever fixed the horrendous fps drops, tearing or whatever it was that caused the horrible messed up section of graphics right in the middle of my screen. And thats before the myriad bugs, some of which have been fixed, others which have been broken further and on and on, Nobody ever commented on it or had any worthwhile troubleshooting to try. Horrible graphics for all cars all tracks and just this game (you should see Bannochbrae on pCars. Beautiful).
I cant have faith in the studio now sorry. Full price for a game thats still correcting some pretty basic stuff 7 months on? So no intention of buying 16 right now, anticipating the same sort of cycle as the last engine went through in terms of having the same issues in 13 and 14 that had existed since 10, 11 or 12.
Just hang around in the hope something eventually changes or until we hear another developer is going to take a pop and I can go setup on their forums instead.

I'm not angry just disappointed. You guys created 'Music' on the PSOne and now look at what you make. Boke.

PS4

The netcode is still terrible. Matchmaking seems to work fine now but as for actually racing with other people... Still very poor. Online car micro stutter is my main complaint. It happens when you are following another car closely(usually at high speed) and the car will warp back and forth ever so slightly as if the cars position is not being updated fast enough by the game so it has to constantly compensate and warp them to the correct position. Starts are also all over the place. Everyone starts at a different point. Here is a video showing both issues, first 2 clips show start issues, 3rd clip shows the micro stutter. Its very hard to see from a video but when you are trying to race wheel to wheel at 200 mph it becomes very difficult to judge an overtake correctly because you never know if you are actually alongside or if the other car is going to warp forward at a random point.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkxHZe8f5bk

These netcode issues are extremely weird because the previous games didn't suffer from them. Just watch any league race on F1 2012 or F1 2013 and the online car position is much more stable and predictable.

Other than that a few annoying bugs remain. The game can still put you back out onto the track on a used set of tyres in quali even after you have chosen to switch to another. The last time this happened to me I had gone into the setup menu twice before returning to track, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. Also the yellow flag issue is still there. Sometimes they will just wave all race in a sector, I have no idea why.

Single player is extremely boring not because of a lack of career mode but because the finishing order is so predictable. Every race feels the same, you never see incidents because the ai ghost when they are spun. They also retire a lot less than when the game released. Add to that the ai car performance which stays the same for each and every race and you have a 19 race grind where it will finish Merc, Merc, Ferrari, Ferrari, Williams, Williams every time. I know this is unlikely to be fixed for 2015 but I really hope 2016 has a bit more manoeuvrability in regards to the car performance. Would be nice to see Williams struggle in the rain and for Red Bull to be fast at street circuits for example. The game is also way to easy on legend difficulty. Without a setup I'm lapping 1.5 seconds a lap faster than the 2nd Mercedes if I take that car. If I put a setup on then it goes over 2 seconds a lap. This means I never have a team-mate battle and its a bit annoying to be fighting for the championship in a Toro Rosso whilst your team-mate struggles to get 11th place each race.

I have to say I am impressed with the frequency of patches to 2015. It was something really lacking in previous games so its great to see the game supported months after release. I just hope more focus is put towards the online aspect for future patches(or games) because that experience has been inferior to previous titles for the lifespan of the game.

Actually I am surprised at CM starting this topic now. For months before I gave up and removed F1 2015 from my PC, every time I posted a fix request such as some of  those being repeated above, all I ever got was "not a priority", "that is something we will look at fixing for next year" or some reason or other as to why it can't be done for F1 2015.

@jennyannem, are you now saying that CM is interested in doing something with F1 2015, or am I just dreaming?

Platform - PS4

I'd like to start positive so here's what I think is good:
-Updated liveries
- New corner cutting system
- Much more stable online than start of game

The game is definitely much better than it was however there are still some issues I can see. Firstly, random yellow flags that last for a fraction of a second but still leads to an "illegal overtake" . Also, there may be some connectivity issues online, in a league race for AOR on Sunday there were mass disconnects, I didn't witness this first hand as I was away for the race but have seen the videos posted by other members of the league.

Anything in this paragraph is me being very nit picky (but might as well bring it up). Back marker AI cars are still very bad at getting out of the way of leaders and the "Legend" AI isn't competitive enough imo. Maybe the events mode on PS4 could be updated more regularly too? Also, maybe there could be something saying "X more warnings till DSQ" in regards to corner cutting. I'm an ideal world there would perhaps be new game modes (like how events was added) and split screen ( I know this more than likely not possible to add)

Overall I am very much enjoying the game and look forward to what 2016 has to offer.

My "broken record" for this part would be system link B) In about four weeks from now we have a big, what used to be LAN party. If it works like Lozzy expects we can do this over the Internet but with so many issues regarding net play I have my doubts. So next to system link, multiplaying will be my main concern. So far I quite enjoy the game and the fixes. The things we miss in this edition have been discussed over and over and expect to see them again in 2016. Feedback from CM has improved much.

Honestly I've not really had any problems with it and with the latest patch on Xbox One. Though the AI tend to be a railroaded at the starts rather than looking for space. Just two lines of cars into turn one a lot of the time in the same grid order. Could do with being looked at. I don't play online so I can't comment on that.
The only things I'd suggest are things I've suggested in the past and I'm sure others have too but they'd be put to better use on the 2016 game now. Obviously, career mode needs a return and in a big way. Not the same as previous games, more advanced R&D system with teams not always being in the same order every season and so on. I won't repeat everything I've said before but they're all in the 2016 idea threads.

I am playing PS4, the main issues are AI stopping too much during the race, not completing two runs during Q3 and cars are disapearing from mirrors.

Thanks

@Lozzy
@jennyannem
Is it possible to include an Option for just blocking the Break Control? It's annoying, that some drivers have significant less Tyre wear when using Break Assistant in a low Level. The Problem is, that the ABS automatically gets disabled, too, when turning of the Break Settings in the Lobby Setup menu.

Would be great, if u fix this issue.

The latest Patch works great!
Good Job!

Best regards,
