For the PC version you can try this, did this to get the newest Fanatec CSW to work in 2013

but this should also work for 2014.

(note this was done on Windows 7 but should be similar for 10)

From the actionmap.xml file in 2015 this should be the ID number for the G29

046DC24F (note the number is displayed backwards group of 4 number wise but this is the

way 2013/2014 needs to see it.)

To confirm the number you can do the following

Make sure your G29 is plugged in an turned on

Go to Control Panel
Locate Hardware and Sound Icon
Click on View devices and printers
Right Click Icon for G29
Click on the Properties button
Click the Hardware Tab
Down at the bottom click on the Properties button
Click the Details tab
In the pull down menu select Hardware Ids

You should see something similar to this HID\VID_046D&PID_C24F

but you only need to be concerned with the number part 046DC24F

If the number is different use that number but it should be correct

You can close all the windows.

Next go to the actionmaps folder in F1 2014

Make a copy of the G27 Racing Wheel.xml file and paste it somewhere safe.

Now edit the G27 Racing Wheel.xml file, I find Wordpad works good for this.

Do a find and replace function and replace 046dc29b with 046dc24f

Then you will have to go back to the top line and make sure it looks like below

<ActionMap deviceType="046dc24f" schemeType="046dc29b" priority="3" isWheel="true">

What this does is it tells the game to use the G27 profile (schemeType) but use the G29 hardware ID (deviceType)

Now if you go in game and select the G27 it should recognize the G29

You may have to do a custom button remap as I am not sure if the button names are the same for the G29 as there are for the G27.

As mentioned I did this for the Fanatec but it should work for the G29.

Remember to back up original G27 xml file.

Now if they had this kind of flexibility in 2015 I would be happy

Good luck and good racing

Do I have to replace all with 046dc24f?

Yes except for the first line in the file as I have shown.

<ActionMap deviceType="046dc24f" schemeType="046dc29b" priority="3" isWheel="true">

Every other 046dc29b has to be replaced with 046dc24f

All was good yesterday but today somehow I've lost all force feedback and the car just turns automatically to the right sometimes. I have barely any force feedback now in 2015 too and I have to turn the wheel all the way for some reason. I don't know if its a problem with my wheel or the game so I'm reinstalling it right now.

F1 2014 is defo not working I've done everything you said its not working. Its weird because it was working yesterday. In game I basically lose force feedback and when I do have force feedback wheel just turns all the way to the right on its own.

Do you have Twitter or Skype so that I can copy your files directly or something? I know it sounds stupid because I already followed your steps and it did work yesterday but I'm literally running out of ideas and its driving me crazy!!

I figured it out you need to have vsync turned on and I think it must be 60fps. To make sure it works absolutely every time it must be in windows mode.

Ah yes the dreaded v-sync mode for Logitech wheels, I know a few G27 owners that need to have it on. The windowed mode is a new one on me though.

So it is working for both 2013 and 2014?

I have a NVidia Titan X, also as mentioned in first post I am using a Fanatec Club Sport V2 wheel with HPP Pedals so I do not suffer from v-sync problem.

That being said I will either run 1920 x 1080 (120 or 144) or 2560 x 1440 (120 or 144) depending upon game or if I am recording.

RadioactiveJim, Thanks a lot !!, The method you described also works on in F1 2011. Now I can enjoy G29 and F1 2011 Game in my Low End PC. Posted Video on Youtube with link to this thread. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jv1NLFdLjUU
