F1 2016 Beta Test - I need your comments!

Hey guys, I'm Matt and I've fortunately been lucky enough to be invited to the F1 2016 beta test in the middle of March.

However, it would be unfair of me to go without getting all the comments, ideas and questions of all you guys who also play the game. That's why I've created this video:

Make sure to comment ON THE VIDEO what you would like to see in the F1 2016 game, any questions for the Codemasters team and anything else you can think of! 

I will make sure to read through absolutely everybody's comments and note them down before going to Codemasters HQ so don't think your comment won't get noticed! (Already up to 880+ comments!!)

It's good that you are a pad user...I only use the ds4 so it's good to have someone there representing pad users. Nice crown molding btw.

Mate ask them if we can save online races and such. Would be great if we can watch from other people's POVs. Would boost leagues. Also formation laps pls

I'm a wheel driver ! manual Formation Laps, manual Parade Laps,manual pit-stops with limiter and chance to get penalty for speeding.More realistic physics,more opportunity to use mods,and more optimization for PC ! PLEASE! the 2015 version is everything but not optimized for PC!

Ive cut and pasted this from a post a made a week or so back to Lozzy.

"if I may add a suggestion that helps in terms of realism and ensuring people know running wide and cutting doesn't pay is for the car to suffer as a result. I`m talking lack of traction, potential minor damage, (more chance of spinning on the grass (at the moment its as sticky as the tarmac), also having to take care for a few hundred yards until the tyres scrub up etc. 

I point this out because it would help massively with peoples whole perception of the games quality and psychological approach to driving off track. This automatically makes all these issues with penalties etc a less thorny subject. Tone down the penalties a little and it would save you criticism as the approach to penalise people is done not only stealthily but realistically, 3seconds is too harsh in most places too"

Simple to me, Safety car, virtual safety car, formation lap, more immersion on off track like in f1 2010 for example; the cars after crashes shouldn't disappear, they have to be removed by marshals (in gp4, ten years agor we had that...), the possiblity of creating a helmet for carrer mod, of course a career mod; and the most important to mee that could be - for me - the difference of buy and not buy the game a better damage system, cause this one and the others in last games its really frustating to mee, like I'm playing a game for the 2000 years, not in "next-gen"...
(Btw, I read that CM couldnt do a better damage model by restrictions, etc, Is it true ? --- 
It would be nice if you guys explain once and for all)

A more robust and informative force feedback system that's more adjustable for wheel users to utilize in game with more realistic physics.  :|

Having to stop on your marks when pitting and manually pull away, so you can delay/extend the pitstop with an error in stopping or moving away.

* Full, accessible and viewable weekend weather forecast
* Ability to access data on fuel usage to manually keep under the 100kg Max etc
* Race strategy options
* Save option for online co-op championships and the computer to save and count co-op championship points
* Dry line on a wet to drying race track (eg. Watch a GP where the track changes from wet to dry on TV)
* Ability to make in car changes whilst in the pit lane like all CM F1 series other than 2015
* Differential mode options (like real F1)
* A race engineer with a clue, including one who gives strategy suggestions and options (percentages of probability would be great)
* Car setups that work in the dry are totally wrong for the wet, and vs versa
* Sort out the game damage engine (far too generic, and totally disconnected to what happens in the accident)
* Red in the Williams stripe!!!

Yes and manuals pit stops ;-)

Obviously some manual control in the pitstop sequence.  Slowing down sufficiently for the pit entry, braking for the box, positioning the car accurately, releasing at the right time all require skill and more importantly, will all add to gameplay.

A Safety-car is compulsory if I am to return to the franchise.

I'm going to try to be realistic here:
  • Safety Car (VSC if possible, but regular would still be an improvement)
  • Full weekend weather forecasts (esp. with parc ferme)
  • Expanded commentary (don't get rid of last year's, because then there will be 2x the commentary)
  • 1-2 substantial new game modes (Career mode, scenario mode, etc.)
  • With new tire rules, it will be important that the player picks them, not the team.
  • Not a big deal, but maybe add a bit more music to the game because right now there's only one song on repeat and games like gran turismo and others have 100s, so a few more would be nice.
Now a bit farther out:
A return to testing like the "young driver testing", but do it before every year with "new cars" like a winter test, and the better you do in it the more reliable and quick your car is or your status within the team.

To make pro season mode more unique, add things like a formation lap and manual pit controls, but make them specific to pro season mode and not something changeable in the regular season.

Please, attention and 
grateful for the opportunity.

(update: Sorry by my English, but I have tried to fix some Phrases, Words...) 

We all users of the Forum, we have already made several "feedback" through wishlist threads.
If you need a wide range of average that is more considered for F1 2016, see these threads in the forum.

  • We need less Cartoon graphics. 

Perhaps this engine come from long being polished, and we do not see developments so large in recent years.

F1 only came to face the drivers in 2015, practically... In 2014, the helmets were not team officials, and many other things that you have in a complete game. F1 did not have...

And look, this is not as complicated for a set of 20 characters (drivers), as the soccer game like Pro EVO Soccer, you have to put thousands of faces in players, and has done so since the Ps2 ... 

Whenever there was a number of things that we lack freedom in F1;
Freedom is an essential question, which differentiates between someone buying or not the game also (in addition to a complete set, flawless).

I can summarize what more we want; 
based on me, and some users:
  • Formation lap but leave an option to skip
  • Lap of honour after winning an option to skip
  • Better celebrations after winning
  • Signature driver celebrations or random ones
  • Team celebrations
  • Better podium celebrations
  • Safety Car and VSC
  • Create your own driver 
  • Helmet customisation
  • More mechanical failures
  • Interviews 
  • Create your team
  •  Driving to the grid on race day from garage but leave an option to skip
  • False Start
  • TV-broadcast HUD
  • HUD with more informations (more advanceds)
  • Improve Damage (more logical and sensitive)
  • The car could "fly" a little, when to attack the border track (zebra)
  • G-FORCE head simulation (the head of driver and the game view, turn to the side in corners, automatically) but leave an option to disable for game cockpit view. Example:

  • Rearview mirror with greater depth of field
  • Career mode
  • Classic mode
  • Scenarios mode (is fantastic, be a driver with a greatest real adventure)
  • Improve ghost (have a little bug that (when near of player) turn graphics distorted)
  • Something more:
  • In F1 2015 Replays need to improve the rendering of the game. You can see, as in the car approaches the camera, the graphics ranging. By far mainly seemed to less detail, and is of better quality when it comes close. It is the first actual game that I see with this system (bad). Need to fix this.

  • The tire wear must be visible on the tires when the car is stopped. Especially in the pit, and after the end of the race.

  • Codemasters could allow the player to do some celebrations after the end of the race, like spin the car on the track (O).

  • Simulate Camera Motion Distotion

  • Improve the Frames per Second of mirrors. Replays also need improvement (As a possibility cameras that actually exist in F1 cars).
  • Complete Theoretical Training (Including how to make a perfect race start)

  • The dirt tires, like grass or sand, small stones, by car leaving the track, it should come out of the tires gradually, but come at a time when F1 2015, Dirt some a while to the other.
  • Other strange thing that happens is that sometimes when the car hit, the car tire some of the wheel, from one frame to the other, as if blown. But without much logic, therefore, can not even see the explosion, it's like the before and after.
  • And there are some cases where the wheel breakage, and through the protective walls. This physical could be improved.

  • Pit Stop auto-animation is a little fake, because the motion of car when stop and exit to re-accelerate, the car seems turn direction on the axis itself.
    It is not natural, it is too forced, the car is fast, and when it arrives in the tire change position, simply turn to the side, without going too far ahead, going sideways just as it swirled on the axis itself.

  • Let the smoothest transactions. Like when you have to enter the automatic part of the game, and suddenly the driver turns the steering wheel, repairing the car's direction, very fast, comes to seem strange so fast.

  • F1 2016 could be an equivalent transition of F1 2014 to F1 2015, at least.
    Including more realistic graphics, textures with more "irregularity", as the latest Need for Speed, more realistic look (not cartoon that has solid image without depth). Physics as a game, Bornout Paradise kind, sensitive and thorough. more expressive freedom as Project Cars, where you can make actions like false start, stay on track even when the car is broken in the extreme, and more.

  • When happen the black flag, the game should end soon. As an image slowing down, and no color, not the computer controlling the car direct to the pits ... It's a waste of time, and has to be cut scene.

  • Codemasters must enter the intelligence, ability to AI, realize that there is possibility of overtaking when the cars are lined up (after the start, for example), changing the default path. It's simple. Even now in F1 2015 game, opponents do not try an adventure, a risk bigger, bolder bet, and gives the possibility of the player put the car on the side of the line, and overcome many cars at once, because they do not need brake to avoid hitting just stop just down the curve, and shove the car back into the queue. This line hole should end up in F1 2016 game.
  • Here, about night lighting, need more clear at some points, and dark in others (F1 2014 and 2015 take turns in some parts with better lighting. Codemasters should consider what is best in both, and bring it to F1 in 2016):

  • Add an elastic loop, when using the vision around the environment (beyond the G-Force, if enabled) back to the center gradually (it have in F1 2014 but not in 2015).
  • The ability to create at least three custom presets for controller.
  • And at least three presets edition of cockpit camera image.
  • For the editing of the steering playability as deadzone, ... Linearity and Saturation add the option, to press another button with the side to increase or decrease faster property, from 10 to 10. 
F1 2015 brought a completely new expectation, through the trailers and images,of what should be a game "completely new", but what can be seen, is that it was kept too much in relation to 2014 (EGO 2.0), a lot has really improved, but the foundation always looks the same, so some still complain about the graphics, Codemasters seems to have worked more on filters, effects, leaving the graphics capability, which is still limited, more interesting in F1 2015. I have in mind that the amount of F1 sales in 2015 compared to the others, has grown a lot, because of all that expectation. I just to mention above, therefore, However, the game delivered (after deferred) was something completely unfinished. Maybe it was better to have cast a Beta test for the users, and make their observations, where Codemasters would consider these feedbacks, and improve the game gradually. Because of these flaws in the game, many ended up giving up the purchase. The image of the game was very bad initially. Codemasters could get a lot more sales of the game, and have more money to invest now (any investment would be worth the return is almost guaranteed). I hope that this error does not happen again. F1 2016 should launch a Beta, as did MS Windows Insider program. By the way, F1 2016 will use the same base. Thus, even by Codemasters be a producer not as big as the others. The truth is that we wanted one 
Completely
 new game. Since this will not be possible in F1 2016 (So let's leave that for F1 2017). Even the difficulties that Codemasters is, we will wait for a game with the same base in 2016, however, exploiting to the full all the resources available. This will make a difference, and we believe in the team pontential.

More details to F1 2016:
  • Improve game to 21:9 screen (more accurate position of HUD in the edge screen).
  • Place the option to activate in menu, the HUD in the cockpit camera too, because often the steering wheel, leaving you without knowing everything you need. For example, when using Suggested Gear, see the active DRS or not, see the average acceleration, and informations like fuel and car damage.
  • To dynamic racing line, add option to enable the gear number on ground of track (the exact position to shift gears), together with dynamic racing line (if you is in Manual and Suggested Assists) — Leave Dynamic Racing Line less Cartoon, put like a paint on the asphalt, well natural, to the line and numbers.
  • In fact, the camera that captures the audio for the TV shows the car sound much more open. And that the F1 2015 game, the sound seems more "stuffy." Here is a good example:

Hiya, it's probably already been mentioned somewhere but...could you suggest that there be some kind of rank system for online play. I can't remember which game it was but there was one with leaderboard where you could filter your search for a game or not be kicked by people because everyone could see the level of the player.It'd help stop getting the idiots who just want to wipe you off the circuit in the first corner. Also a filter for online play so you don't have to sit in the lobby for every type of race.

I'm not fantastic at the game, middle of the standard I'd say, get frustrated by people who don't want to play properly (spend my online life saying 'why are you bothering to play, it's a racing game' 'FFS' etc etc) but struggle against really top players. I get kicked a fair bit, which annoys me as I want a decent race but obviously players are wary of others they don't know.

  11. Change the strategy before race starts/Or better: do a own one
  12. Voice Commands for PC that funcions ;)
