Thank you Engineer

Recommended Posts

before watching the video i want you to know i was in a very long battle with vettel and on this lap i finally caught up enough to try an overtake in the corner that we were approaching and i was going to take the left side (the inside for the turn) and he suddenly swerves left to avoid hamilton and i had no idea he (hamilton) was there, for next year could you make it so the engineer tells you where someone is crashed? and yellow flags are pointless because of how often they happen and they happen for no reason sometimes so i just brushed off the flags cause they rarely mean anything in this years game. I believe in this case it shouldve been double waved yellows and safety car out, but since theres no safety car, no double waved yellows, and the engineer gives you literally no warning whatsoever it completely ruined my race (i had to retire and im behind hamilton and rosberg by quite a few points in the championship now), i had very little time to react considering i was focused entirely on getting past vettel

Yeah I came across Maldonado facing backwards in the middle of T3 at Catalunya, and didn't feel the yellows were enough warning for that either.

Is anyone else just seeing someone blaming the engineer, when he himself completely ignored the yellow flags?

Or is it just me?

Judge rules...... Engineer is innocent.

Whilst at first I was like WTF, you do actually see the flashing yellow lights to the left. I'd subscribe to it not being obvious enough, but then surely this is the same as in real life? Drivers are just more trained to take notice of them than perhaps we mere muggles gamers are..

Hard to tell in the vid, the time span between the incident and the yellow going on. Could have been nasty in real life, who knows?

In real life there are single and double-waved yellows. One would slow down a lot more for the latter if both were in the game. As-is, you don't know whether it's someone way off track with a  broken front wing or a car facing backwards in the middle of the circuit.

The other clue that might help is that you'll notice, just as you pass under the F12015 overhead board (right after the DRS sign) on the straight that the yellow lights begin flashing on the steering wheel below the rev bars. This is just before you pass the yellow light on the fence to the left.
