Disable "Reset to track"

Recommended Posts

Hello,

is there a possibility to disable the "Reset to track" function?
I hate this function because Dirt Rally actually is a rally simulation and in a simulation you should not be able to reset your car to the track after a horrible crash.

Thanks for your help!

The automatic reset serves another purpose than just putting you back on the road, it's to prevent people from taking enormous shortcuts as well - so I think you'll have to get used to it being there. If you're just stuck halfway down a ditch though, and you get the prompt to reset the car, nobody is forcing you to press the reset button, are they? :)

do not what you want then because with this file you can have full crashes without resets and if you do not crash 100%  you gottta drive back to the track yourself so a perfect sim feeling imo

I would think for the health of the game to not share that file because cheating would be really easy, in Sweet Lamb you just need to jump the hill and you beat everyone, the same in all hairpins and in germany you can cut like a mad

Unfortunately there will always be people who want to cheat and use certain mods just to gain an advantage. It's sad, but that's how modding gets a reputation of being nothing more than hacking when it's so much more than that. I, myself, have the files to remove the reset-lines, however, I only use them in single-player to make the experience more realistic because, in real life, you don't magically teleport back to the road if you go too far into a field. I completely understand the reason the for the reset-lines' existence though.
