Weren't most of Haryanto's votes as a result of people spamming the votes and that's why he wasn't counted?
Love how Kvyat got 12th just for turning up and surprised to see Hulkenberg so low down. I thought he did well, guess he was just invisible the whole race! And Palmer behind Magnussen? Verstappen 4th with Sainz 13th? Somehow I don't think allowing the fans to vote driver of the day is a good idea   No love for Sauber and Force India.

Just a quick note on something I've spotted.

2013 Pole Position: Sebastian Vettel, 1:27.407
2013 Fastest Lap: Kimi Raikkonen, 1:29.274
2016 Pole Position: Lewis Hamilton, 1:23.837
2016 Fastest Lap: Daniel Ricciardo: 1:28.997

This year's pole position time - on much harder tyres and with less aero - was 3.5 seconds faster than what we saw at the end of the V8 era. This year's fastest lap was 3 tenths faster than 2013's and was actually only 1.5 seconds off the 2013 pole time.

In actual fact, Lewis' pole time was only 3 tenths off the all-time fastest lap around Melbourne - Vettel's pole in 2011 which was 1:23.529. Considering that those cars had EBDs, that is a mighty lap from Lewis.

EDIT: Admittedly, 2013 was carried out on a totally green track after the washout, but still!

2013 qualifying was wet, and Q3 was still damp when the final laps were set, so any comparison there is utterly pointless. They have less aero grip now but much more power, and the tyres aren't "much harder". They both used supersoft compounds. And the 2011 lap used softs.

Me and GoldenColt discussed this a few pages back and more or less concluded it's impossible to compare. Only conclusion that can be drawn is the cars are still very fast.

It's a fan vote people... Does it ever even matter?

Look at the F1 survey last year or so... Kimi won. It doesn't matter.

It doesn't, but it is pretty lame when you create a system like this and then decide to delete votes because the winner doesn't make any sense from a logical perspective.
