The Cheat Thread

Just drove some WR's with friends' rigs. Dirt is quite a nice experience with 3-screens, wish the fov on side monitors would be better tho.

Also accidentally did a WR with friends steam account, had to log in with my own one afterwards and claim the WR in my name  :D
Yeah, triples are really nice, especially for those hairpins. Would be cool to see some improvement for it like LFS or AC, those are really nice. Also surprised Kakkela didn't congratulate you....

share what ? that a few are bitter or dont agree with gameplay differences ? there hasnt been one bit of proof of a cheat or anything related to the whole thread worth typing. as said. imagine this $$$$ and new people coming to dirt rally.
There's loads of it, but it gets denied hard by the sim-sisters!  The whole thread is absolute comedy gold!! :D

And none of it applies to them!  The trainer cheats don't work & the leaderboards are stand-alone, so if they see anything by reading this, it's that the PC competition is as trustworthy as a Toyota 34mm restrictor!

DiRT went EA in April 2015 & by May, the topic had already hit the PC game AND the forum here.  Perhaps the 'bigger picture' should have been thought of way back then, when those 'Same old methods' were introduced to the new game?

I honestly don't see what your so upset about. This thread is literally everything but cheating. It's just turned into a chatroom for people that

  • Start talking about random things
  • Bitch about things that don't matter
  • Complain and argue about some other topic that has nothing to do with anything.
It's why I'm residing in @thecraicbear's happy place.

im not upset.its words.why would words hurt ? im just puzzled by the title topic and basically there is nothing concrete in here. just BS by same people who now have faster times by using the very configs they downloaded from steam from the very people they accuse.

the chat room maybe funny or entertaining but remember and this is not what most are thinking about is many are looking at the game. they come here and the most lively topic is named " THE CHEAT THREAD ".

anyone who maybe thinking but not sure could just come here first click see that and nahhhh its full of cheats.

people just dont realize how stupid posts effect games sometimes.

im all for cheaters being banned removed but this topic isnt even about cheats.its just blah blah blah. no end to proof just BS.

so why continue ? your damaging your own community for what reason ?

if you have/had proof it would of been done by now so its just endless BS. just lock it off.

console launch is very soon this isnt needed.peope already have the console version so more are checking here.

In all seriousness, if someone is bothered enough to actually go look at the forum, then why would they just look at a topic thread and leave without reading it? I find your point to be a bit moot. I'm only active on this forum, but I also check AC, BeamNG, and twice now PCars, mostly for mods, and to see if anythings new, and a "cheat thread" wouldn't deter me without me reading it if  cared about online times in the slightest.

Finish Line??  I cant GET to the Finish Line!!!  LOL  :D

That is HORRIFIC!  If I blindfolded my 4 yr old daughter, told her to turn her back the to PC and told her to make a setup for Finland by hitting the keyboard with a plastic mallet, it would be better than that shambles!!!!

I had a quick look at the actual setting before I drove them and nearly fell over....  Thought I would try anyway and as expected, they are a failure of the highest order.

I might upload the best of my bad captures just to demonstrate how much under-steer, bounce, lack of power-oversteer etc there actually is with this...

Not a Clue!  not one!

It's all clear to me now. These elite that are named the best of Dirt Rally aren't worthy. Better take off the vip-banners cause they doesn't replicate the sim-crowd; they are hotlappers which exploit every arcadish feature for their own ego's. If the time is not fast 1st place or top 3. They just alt-F4 the game so the time won't be uploaded, they practice every daily and weekly. They exploit shortcuts, exterior cams, low dofs, low/no ffb, etc.

Take a famous Dirt Rally Streamer as example since he switched to 270 degrees he is faster and better than ever., but does it simulate real life rally? No It's just an way to exploit fast times, boost your ego and make the Dirt Rally community think you are awesome, but you are not.

I am a little bit done this elite that appear to be the very best. Not giving arguments, only crying against my suggestion to create a more sim-like environment for the game. Features, and other stuff.

After all these video's on youtube and streams on twitch are good marketing for Dirt Rally, lol.

edit: Take the flat tyre-discussion as example. Tyres are fine. Nothing wrong with them, but because this elite find them too precious Codemasters listened to them and upped the strength of the tyres. The elite just don't know how to properly adjust the dampers and suspension.

Oh this is golden. Read these quotes and tell me who's actually being toxic to the DR community. Is it Pork who no one has ever had a shred of evidence against and CM themselves deemed legit? gheeD who has complied by uploading replays w/ telemetry on? Or is it those who drastically over-emphasize the cheating issue, passive-aggressively accuse people despite being warned about it already(Kev), belittle those when they defend their reputations, and now want CM to waste time and resources implementing their suggestions instead of focusing on a sequel.

It's sad knowing there are probably newcomers reading this thread and getting the wrong impression of this community. Maybe if you put as much effort into improving your driving as you did your efforts trying to expose cheaters, you might actually be among those at the top of the leaderboards.

Yeah, and we would never stoop so low as to fall under a sponsor!

The one thing looking at the current leader boards all these threads have done is advertise what's available, it has gained absolutely nothing except generate a load of in-fighting and squabbling,

If we changed the thread to the lets all have a bitch thread maybe would be better as it does have huge entertainment value

Not sure it is that different from your very own "let's clear the leaderboards" thread?

People have different boundaries which is why these topics get discussed at length. Pretty much everyone would accept that using third party programs to alter the in game parameters is cheating.

Pushing the boundaries of what the sim allows gets much greyer. Some would say that seeking out allowed track cuts across fields is part of rallying - identifying the fastest route within the rules. Others (myself included) think it is morally wrong and would wish the developers close down any off track routes. Personally I find some of the videos many would describe as legit as pushing a little far because hotlapping we know there aren't going to be any rally ending rocks on the trackside by experience but there isn't much we can do about that other than randomize the off track surface which kills it as a hotlapping competition.

It gets even greyer when we talk about controllers where optimum in game settings start to expose flaws in variance with real world driving. It clearly isn't cheating but nonetheless becomes unique to the game compared to what it is aiming to simulate. Again some would find it feels like they are cheating themselves when with their own testing they find that their is significant gains to be made. It isn't just about topping the leaderboards but how people feel about achieving their best times.

Only a slight minority are bothered about it.

Most people I know around my place hardly get better than top 1000(Obviously anyone within the top 100 are cheater for them). I consider myself lucky to get top 100 & even top 10 on some.

If you have been banned on RaceNet and unable to play online events, here is solution to play it again.

Well. Codemasters know whats to do.

Did you really just give a detailed, step by step guide to bypass a ban on DiRT Rally in a thread about cthat starts with 5 rules? Rule 5 being

"5, Don't explain how to do any exploits either, send the relevant information, via pm to"

Banned and all info sent to the relevant people

I just got a PB in my favourite car: Fiat Abarth - 3:28:158. 141st place.

So far, so good.

Porky - 3:11:125 in the Opel Kadett - 11th place.  Rallycameraman - 3:18:542 - 26th place. So my margin to those two is about the level of my play. I'm unlikely to get much closer.

However, 1st place is Belgian Chris in 2:46:776...25 seconds faster than Porky!!!! On Bidno Moorland. I don't believe this.

Somehow I'm not feeling the intelligence level of the Human Species right now.

Realistically, this thread is now 13 pages long and that's the first bit of actual "cheating" that's been mentioned.
