F1 2016 should have Mod support? [QUIZ]

Recommended Posts

You believe that modification files will be relevant enough to make the Game better without lost the originality?

It *should* have mod support, but all things considered, it probably won't have proper mod support. Just take a look at, erm, any F1 game from Codemasters. They never had official mod support.

If F1 2016 will be good, it will only be a matter of time to get first bigger mods. F1 2015 could be moddable (limited to car textures mostly because F1 2015 wasn't very "popular"), so if F1 2016 is pretty much a continuation of F1 2015, we could be somewhere.

if you look at some of the mods some of these guys are doing for other games. Most of them are grade A stuff. Some of these guys are pretty talented.

As a modder, I´d love to have mod support in F1 2016. I´m part of a mod group called Mak Corp who have recently released the Mclaren MP4-4 to Assetto Corsa (I did the 3d model). I'd love to bring historic content to the CM F1 games.

Doesn't really matter whether we think it should or not. This year they were told to lock down the database to prevent modding as part of their licensing conditions, and I can't see that changing next year.

First the game must have UDP and allow a way to put mods in the game. Not only is it criminal to not let these guys do this with them being so good at it. For console players like myself. If the mod guys are designing mods for the game then they are also designing second screen apps that can connect thur UDP to the game for console players.

Yep, FOM is not very happy, indeed. (A few weeks ago Grojean did but some videos from the life of Haas IIRC, but FOM told him to delete those videos...)

I;m not sure if this thread is in response for this: (from arstechnica.co.uk)

A website called RaceDepartment—which serves as a hub for many a sim racing game—took down many pages of content containing mods for a pair of Codemasters Formula 1 games as well as Reiza Studio’sAutomobilista following a cease and desist from the sport's commercial rights holder.

But as you can understand there is zero chance for the game to be mod friendly.
