That definitely works better for cockpit view. It could then give the full standings at the end of each lap or something before reverting back to that.
I like it. With an optional circuit map just underneath the current lap time for those that use that.

Thanks  Thanks! I hope really that you like it as community. I like it to discuss with you guys about a new HUD for F1 2016. I hope, that CODEMASTERS have seen the screenshots what i've made. Now i keep my fingers crossed to see a new HUD like this in F1 2016!! You guys, too?? :)

I've always hated the official TV overlays, depending on the year they've either been too small, too cluttered, or just too hard to understand. Either way, they're designed to be read when you're sitting on the sofa with a beer, not driving at 200mph.

But it sounds like that's just me...

That is your opinion. I'm fine with it. Really!
My opinion is, that we need a real TV-Broadcast athmosphere, so than we need the original TV overlays.
We get a Formula One product as a game, so i would like to see some original things of course. And the community since lot of years, too... I'll buy F1 2016 to have "Cola" not "Pepsi" ;)

I don't see why we can't customise it or have a choice of style of overlay, other racing games do this.

Notice how no one from Codemasters is on this thread? That overlay is a great idea, but then again, "if it makes sense, then it's NOT in the game".

If I had this huge standings on the left I would be glancing at it every 10 seconds to see what is going on in the race. It doesen't work if you are driving at 300 km/h.  I would rather have my engineer telling me all this information.

Exactly, a Formula One driver isn't looking at his wheel every 10 seconds to make some new settings at 300 km/h. I'm sorry, i've forgotten - at the wheel between thousands of buttons, there is a big display with lot of informations. Oh mate, look at the drivers. It works! They're fast. Really fast... Sorry for my irony, but listen, we need more informations and an original broadcast HUD for more athmosphere. Isn't it more spectacular when you see your driver name dropped down in qualifying? :)

Drivers only have information about their car and nothing more. They don't know who is leading the race, tyres being used by other drivers, the fastest man on the track and other things. All these thing are informed by the engineer.

That is the case (well actually not this year now!) but imagine all the menu cycling you'd need to ask your engineer what tyre your rival who is now 5 places behind after his pit stop has just put on. Some things cannot be simulated in a game and that is such a thing. Having that knowledge on the HUD is therefore necessary. Whether it be with pop ups every now and then or at the end of a sector/lap. The race director already does all this but it would be nice if it were to pop up instead of having to pause the game everytime you need or want to check.

hate to be that guy but yea, A F1 driver is constantly making setting changes on the wheel and scrolling thur display pages. Everytime they go to a onboard the guy is controlling or changing or checking something. I have seen the front runners even make changes per corner and set it back on the straights.

This is what I'm screaming for the last two years! It would make the game sooooo much better and realistic! So Codemaster developers: this is really a must have for F1 2016.

I like these and i think there should be different versions likee the 1 at the bottom and the one on the left side, and this is cuz with the 1 where its down the bottom it feels empty which i dont like, with the 1 down the side if you could make it smaller in the way that you can choose how many were displayed
