Fabregas might work at Chelsea as a replacement for Lampard, since they are/were both captains, but having recently sold Mata I can't see why Mourinho would drop 30 million on a similar, older player.

Our transfer policy is strange. We'd let our best ever player leave, we don't know the full reasons behind tbf, to try and build a younger squad yet we'd sign Tiago on a free. Then get Felipe Luis for 25 million Euros who's 29 rather than Luke Shaw, who is a. a Chelsea fan, b. 18-19, c. Homegrown.

Would rather Pogba as I say but as long as Fabregas does well I'm happy. Plus Arsenal fans would be so mad.

Fabregas and Mata don't exactly play the same positions even though Mata is naturally a CAM.
They're both dynamic, creative, central attacking midfielders. Close enough. The exact positions don't matter- players can adapt.

Fair enough. But I always imagined Fabregas playing a lot further back than Mata.
Why would he, though? 'A lot further back' would be something like a CDM role- and while you can attack from there (e.g. Xabi Alonso) that's not what Fabregas specialises in.

Not that far back. Perhaps I exaggerated. I mean I always imagined him playing behind a Mata-type.
Hmm, well. I can see that, actually. Coincidentally that's also where Lampard played for Chelsea (...right?)

yeah he's more of an attacking midfielder than defensive I agree give him the Lampard role in the team and he'll do a lot of damage.

Think you should. After all you've got deals ready with Reus, Kroos, Shaw, Pogba, Ronaldo, Hummels, Muller and Beckham.

Where do you all think Fabregas will end up? The Independent says that Liverpool are leading the race for his signature- absolute bollocks if you ask me. He's a fantastic player no doubt, but 30 million for him is too much for a club like us.

United seems plausible.
Bollocks if you ask me too. I reckon he'll either head back to Arsenal or go to United like you said.

The mystery behind Cristiano Ronaldo's tendinosis has been solved.

A Ghanaian witchdoctor has taken responsibility for inflicting the injury, saying it 'can never be cured by any medic'.

“I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him,” Nana Kwaku Bonsam told Ghanaian radio station Angel FM.

“I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called ‘Kahwiri Kapam’.

“I said it four months ago that I will work on Cristiano Ronaldo seriously and rule him out of the World up or at least prevent him from playing against Ghana and the best thing I can do is to keep him out though injury.

“This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else.”

It is an experimental team in a friendly, so it doesn't really matter. @SILVERARR0WS what country are you from?

Not really a good game to be honest is it, no one is trying to hard, everyone is trying to avoid injury :p

Nice, Irish football fans are great at the major tournaments :)
