Atletico Madrid are not on Real, Barca, Bayern, United, Liverpool, AC Milan etc. level yet. It takes a while to become a very big team, and you don't lose that status after one season either. IMO it would take 1 or 2 decades of no real success to lose it fully (No League, UCL)

Exactly you need at least to be on a run where you're on a run of winning 1 or 2 trophies at least every other season and at least managing to make the latter stages in the times you don't win too to really establish yourself as a big team which would mean one of the others would end up dropping off that list. I'm not saying the likes of Chelsea or Ateletico can't but it would require a lot of effort on their part to achieve that as they'd have to be constantly winning year in year out.

Tbh, in Europe we've easily been the best English team for the last decade, usually getting to the quarters at least usually further. Only two years we haven't and won of them we won the Europa League. Of course we aren't bigger than United, Liverpool but we're now on par with Arsenal.

I'd go as far as to say that we're the only English club Barca, Real and Bayern wouldnt want to play in a quarter/semi final/final.

You've been good in Europe although United have been unlucky with draws in the early knockouts (Bayern, Real last 2 times). But then we've won the league more so I'm not too unhappy.

Looking forward to seeing Rojo in action on Sunday, I can only assume he will start.

And what it looked like when it had red seats! :p

Yeah, most of them are 17 year old now and they haven't been replaced :p I think there was a petition going when we won the best fans award last season to spend the £2000 on new seats, dunno what happened to it.

EDIT: Some old MOTD commentators are returning this weekend.

Good news for a certain Sunderland fan here, Herrara is injured and Rojo can't play due to a lack of a work permit. Bad news: RvP is back.

Even with RVP back up top with Rooney, our midfield will (probably) be the mighty Cleverley and Fletcher pairing.

United are suffering so much with injuries right now, none of our summer signings can even play :(

Our Team will be: De Gea, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Young, Januzaj, Fletcher, Cleverley, Mata, Rooney and RvP

Doesn't that scare you?

Good news for a certain Man United fan here, our defence consists of a Chelsea reject, two mid thirties Man U has beens and a freebie from an almost relegated club. :p

Let's hope neither side get a penalty in this match ;)

Even better news for you, Evans is still out so we have Blackett...

I've never even heard of Blackett :p

We'll probably be:

Mannone, Jones, O'Shea, Brown, Van Aanholt, Cattermole, Johnson, Larsson, Rodwell, Buckley/Wickham and Fletcher/Wickham.

Pretty amazing downfall Garry Kenneth has had. Looked a promising prospect whilst at Dundee United and was capped for Scotland numerous times...
Few seasons ago he made his move into the English leagues joining Bristol Rovers but picked up a serious injury...
Got released and joined Brechin up here, got released again and is now playing juniors football...

Although not quite as bad as Garry O'Conner, sure Luke will remember him ;)

Felix Magath is useless...

Indeed I don't see him lasting too long at Fulham they'd be better off with somebody who knows the Championship  well. Otherwise they'll end up back where they started before Fayed took over back in League 1 or Division 2 as it was back then.

The absolute best. England would've won the World Cup under his leadership.
