PS4 T300 FFB??

Recommended Posts

I turned them all up to 150% and was shocked it still wasn't enough? Barely feel the bumps and nothing when I hit something hard. Very dissapointing.

There was more FFB in all the other dirt games. I love feeling bumps and dips, landings etc. but in this game they are very muted? I wud think at 150% they shud be very prominent.  But instead they feel like what 30% shud feel like.

I have exactly the same problem, again with a T300rs on PS4.  There is barely any wheel weight at all and it makes controlling the car so difficult. The sliders make hardly any difference, even when up to 150% and there doesn't appear to be a general wheel weight slider as in the F1 games.

Very disappointed so far

The same for me T300 & T150 far far to weak i like a strong / heavy wheel Dirt just doesn't give me the options i like . I like the game it's a great game but i can see my self not playing as much as i'd like to because of the ffb .

Don't know why you feel like that, on PC DiRT is giving plenty enough FFB, it's normally wheel that can't handle more torque.

Were you driving on tarmac or gravel?

On tarmac feels good enuf, but at 150% it shud be much stronger. But on gravel its light.

I've tried driving on all surfaces, makes no difference at all to the wheel weight. You can turn the wheel easily with one finger, even with all settings maxed out.

Unless it's patched I can't play the game like this.

Yeah that doesn't sound right. Sounds like really bad bug in console version or something. On PC I don't use over 80% in anything and use 75% in Thrustmaster drivers and it's still maxing T300RS' motor in some heavier bumps.

Yep, same findings here. I've left all FFB settings on default until I get a 'feel' for the physics, but it just feels dead and lifeless ATM.
I do hope codies patch this (like PD did for GT6) to get better weight and feedback ? pCARS, for me has the most nuanced FFB of any console game to date, and with my T300RS it's brilliant. I don't need to have the master FFB set over 65% on that game to get a nicely weighted feel.
Please guys, get this sorted ASAP, the game itself is fantastic, just need to iron out that weak FFB !

Do you think it's a console issue or version issue? Inside racing reviewed the Xbone version and said the FFB was the best of any console they have tried.

Could be version issue, but it's not like that in PC version 1.1 that should have been the same consoles are on.

I tested some up and down the scale, as low as 65% on all and then a mix of high and medium, and it is all there but the bumps in the wheel are weak. Answer me this PC users, when driving on a gravel road say 50 mph, go off road with one side of tires into the small ditch, do you feel anything in your wheel? I don't even get a bump or a pull. I can hit a rock on the side of the road, bam, dead stop, kill car, and no feeling in the wheel at all when I hit the rock. Is yours the same on PC?

Yep you don't feel anything when bumping a car or rolling over curbs in rallycross. This lack of ffb all over the game is killing immersion level.

Okay I found something that helped me. The big issue for me was no weight or resistance when turning. So by trial and error I found that lowering  the steering saturation to 15 percent made a huge difference for me. It's very quick on the steering but I like fast responsive steering anyway.

Same issues as above with my T300 Rs....not good at all....altered settings and still not great....back to wrc5 till this is sorted.

I'm happy now the wheel felt like it had no weight or resistance and was totally sluggish. Now it's super responsive and I can almost get handbrake turning on switchbacks with just a quick flick of the wheel.

So it's the PS4 version that has the Force Feedback issue. I can't believe they released it like this. I picked up the Xbox One version and it's superior some of the best FFB as good or better than anything out there. Thank God I bought an Xbox One to play Forza 6. I can feel every little bump and nuance in the road. It's incredibly strong and responsive on the Xbox One version. No setting will be even close to being as good as the Xbox one version it needs a major patch now.

Going off how things went with F1 2015, releasing this with such a huge, obvious issue doesn't surprise me at all unfortunately, even tho I know this is a great game overall.

The wheel weight isn't much different to having the force feedback switched off. It reacts to bumps etc in the road but the resistance to turning is way too low for some reason and takes all the feeling out of driving.

Thrustmaster tips about the FFB, i followed these tips step by step and it works perfectly, very good FFB settings !!!!!!!

DiRT RALLY on PlayStation 4 & Xbox One TIPS:
Force Feedback settings Thrustmaster Wheels.
About the Rotation Angle, in OPTIONS / CONTROLS / ADVANCED WHEEL SETTINGS
To optimize the gameplay, we recommend you to:
Step 1) Access to CALIBRATE DEVICE and calibrate the steering wheel:
# 1080° for T150, T300 & T500 wheels
# 900° for TX Wheels
Step 2) Activate SOFT LOCK option.
Once the process is completed, the wheel Lock will be automatically adjusted to your cars.
Remark: To match the same ratio as the cockpit view go to OPTIONS / PREFENCES / COCKPIT DRIVER & WHEEL then select WHEEL ONLY
About the Force Feedback, go to OPTIONS / CONTROLS / VIBRATION & FEEDBACK
To optimize the general feeling, you can try these settings:
# VIBRATION & FEEDBACK = On
# SELF ALIGNING TORQUE = 125 % for T150 - 95 % for T500 % - 125 % for T300 % - 77 % for TX
• Self Aligning Torque is one of the most important setting
• You can reduce this setting (not too much to keep related effects) for recent cars with small rotation angle or for dirt tracks
• You can increase this setting (not too much to avoid wheel clipping) for old cars with big rotation angle or for ice tracks or snow tracks
# WHEEL FRICTION = 0% for T150 & T500 - 15 % for T300 & TX (keeping low the Wheel Friction setting is important to avoid not natural friction on the wheel)
# TYRE FRICTION = 100% for T150 – 90% for T500 - 150 % for T300 & TX
# SUSPENSION = 100% for T150 – 90% for T500 - 150 % for T300 & TX
# TYRE SLIP = 100% for T150 – 90% for T500 - 150 % for T300 & TX
# ENGINE = 100% for T150 – 90% for T500 - 150 % for T300 & TX
# COLLISION = 125% for T150 – 100% for T500 - 150 % for T300 & TX
# SOFT LOCK = 150 % for all wheels
# STEERING CENTER FORCE = 100 % for all wheels

But are you using an Xbox or ps4? People are saying Xbox is ok but there is no way my ps4 with T300 is ok.

I'm using an Xbox, the standard ffb settings on xbox are ok but those thrustmaster settings are much better.
I'm reading on other forums there are some ps4 players who are pretty happy about those thrustmaster recommendations.

It's definitely an issue and not just settings, I've driven many driving games on the PS4 but the wheel weight and force feedback on Dirt Rally is much much less than any other game, even with the above settings applied.

It would be great to hear from somebody at Codemasters to know if they are aware of the issue.

Yeah I've tried those settings and many more. The nuances of the driving physics is great, please CM don't mess with that.  But to have not just 100% but 150% sliders, I expect at 150% I want to feel like I'm driving a bus without power steering its so heavy. And I want the hard bumps to jerk the wheel out of my hands. Then allow me to slide it back to a perfect balance. But as it stands now 150% feels like what I wud expect at 50%. So just crank it up.
Unfortunately my PC friend tells me this is what they hv had all along. And he has been in game since launch on PC. He has asked for stronger FFB but CM has not delivered.  As always, for whatever reason CM just doesn't respond to obvious fixes. Not holding my breath.

Raced more tracks and more cars today, wow FFB seemed to be there just a little then disappear half way thru the stage. Some tracks hv a blast,  some there was no FFB at all. Looking to see if CM has responded anywhere to T300rs issue. Anyone read anything?
