Dirt rally ps4 too hard to beat ai

I find the AI far too inconsistent rather than difficult (Elite & Master). For instance, I can be 4-5 seconds ahead of the AI on Pant Mawr Reverse in the first sector, but by the second sector, I've suddenly almost lost that lead although driving like an absolute maniac. At the end of stage, I usually find myself in second place 2-3 seconds behind the leader.

In Greece, I can without much effort beat the AI on one stage with a second or two or more, but the next stage I'm finding myself 8-10 seconds behind by the third sector for...reasons? In Sweden I can slaughter the AI by 10+ seconds on almost each stage. I'm not making any sense of this and frankly, I think it has to be scaled better or else I can never see myself getting that trophy for beating the Masters Championship. I'm not asking for the game to be ''nerfed'', just more consistent AI times overall.

With that said (and aside), this game is GoAT material. Fantastic package all around and pure joy driving these cars.
On wales the whole stage have a heavy camber on the center. Many corners are blind thus listening to the co driver to where to place the car is crucial.

In Greece it is mostly flat surface thus probably the reason why you have less issue on it.

yah so many laughs with the AI times. PC here first day purchase on steam when the early access began

I still believe to this day they just went full retardation with the AI times. You can't pretend making open difficulty times borderline hardcore and top difficulty harder than impossible.

I recommend all those with internet switching to delta community times instead of roflcopter AI cars, so at least you'll be able to see some green time splits from time to time..

Did that a few days ago, with a wheel though. But congrats anyways! :)

Think a great deal of you are kinda missing his point, or maybe I'm understanding something that wasn't expressed from the OP.  Most of us know that the original Colin Mcrae, Nicky Grist rally game was intended on being a "SIM" not an arcade driver.  Since it finally got back to its roots again, some people are finding an extreme learning curve from the first race.  Codemasters should allow an entry level AI that is suited for a casual audience.  Absolutely doesn't change the game for us "Hard Core" Rally enthusiasts to do so.  It just allows the broader audience the ability to enjoy rally, and possibly push them into the more realistic side that Colin and Nicky were pushing for. I'm betting that a large percentage of the players never played the original, nor do they even know who Colin was, or who Nicky is.

On the Start Line Launch AI winning every time, this is actually a very valid argument and issue.  Personally it pisses me off that I have no way of even hitting a 10% chance of jumping in front of the pack.  This should be addressed as its taking away the realism for me.

TL;DR : git gud.

This game isnt that hard. I'm actually disappointed with some aspects of it. Guess you need to go buy wr5 or SLR. Maybe even FH2.

I have to say I find the game too difficult.  I picked up the game in the recent black friday ps4 sale and would have been really aggrieved if I had paid 55 pounds for it.   My only complaint so far really is the difficulty.  I love the graphics, the sound, the concept and the general experience.  I find it a really great offering and I will persist with it.  I appreciate that it's one of those games that requires a lot of practise, but the learning curve within the game should not be as steep.

At first I thought that this was down to my age (in my 40's now sigh) but then I looked around and saw that lots of people are experiencing the same issue.  One of the things I would recommend are some hands on tutorials.  In the first edition of Gran Turismo there were stages that were very quick to complete and involved you learning a key skill such as how to drift.  It could be worth Codemasters including something similar for future releases, as opposed to new players doing lengthy stages really badly and coming way behind.

Age isn't the issue: there are a few of us on here who are not many years off the big four-o! Stick with it and it will come together. I think the initial difficulty is greatly exacerbated by the car upgrade system: once you get a fully upgraded car and a few hours experience with the handling you will start to see gains.

It is painful playing the first few stages and seeing minutes between you and the leader, but its so satisfying when your times start to fall and you claim a first!

Or you can just restart each stage a dozen  or more times until you'll get the fastest time xD That's what I did at least, since I have a hard time accepting AI to be faster :D

Well yeah, being a bad loser is an alternate strategy @RyuMakkuro!
