You will have the drive of your life when you finally nail it!

This is by far the best driving experience I've ever had in a game! And I've tried them all.

Agreed I was mad on p cars but this is the game for me!

PCars is totally different. I think it's definitely got it's merits. PCars has made me not really care about Gran Turismo anymore ;-)

"In circuit racing, you drive one corner a thousand times. In rally racing, you drive a thousand corners one time"

And that's the beautiful, brutal thing about rally.

@djm99 stick with it. Once you get it, it's gonna be the coolest thing you've ever seen!!!

Thanks for the encouragement guys, am finding the courses too narrow and my reactions too slow..think i might be a bit too old.

You will get used to it eventually. I found the game so hard in the beginning hours and even now at 400 hours playtime there is still a lot of improvement and I feel like I get a tiny bit better every day.

It is hard, yes! You need to practise and diversify you daily activities so that you wouldnt fall bored from the game. :)

Nah, just more practice and patience, it's really a game you have to invest in and the reward comes later. I'm finding it hard too but a real challenge, there's so many games that are to forgiving right from the start, credit to this game for its brutal learning curve but dangling carrot of what you could potentially achieve.

Practice makes perfect, I got over 300 hours in this game and I still make mistakes from time to time, but, I can win Master championships easily.

Watch the tutorial and take notes on certain things. certain things make a difference in handleing flowing corner to corner im just getting the hang of it. Its a brutal realistic game that gives you no excuse just skill. Many hours needed here to play and win. Practice and you get better.

That's not entirely true with dirt rally though.. Because of the low number of tracks..

I think the key is to start off on an easy track, maybe one of the german ones, and an underpowered car, although in the underpowered cars you can have the issue of not being able to get them round the corners. Try the 60's mini cooper or the Renault Alpine.

Going straight in on Group B on a tough track is hard work.

Have you tried changing your controller sensitivity settings? Made a world of difference for me!

If you are using a gamepad try with sensitivity 75% from 50%. It's better in my opinion. I also use a dfgt, tell us if you have a steering wheel.

Another thing to remember is the cars don't come with the ideal setups to start, try changing gear ratios and suspension etc it makes a world of difference

I have found that the more aggressive i am in speed and cornering the easier it is, the game seems to reward a “brave” style of play. At slower speeds the car becomes hard to handle at higher speeds the physics reflect real life as the car is doing what it was designed for i.e. high speed rally sport. Don’t get me wrong driving faster carry’s a higher risk of face planting a tree or half buried rock. the reward is great but has to be earned.

Too old! I'm 72 and still flying on these stages. Nearly 1000 hours though. That makes a difference.

I'm playing on a PS4 with the standard DS4 controller. I tinkered around with the advanced controller settings a bit and found the sensitivity set at 55 and the linearity at 65 works best for me.

Yes, seriously.

I used to rally Escort Twin Cams and BDAs in the late '60s and early '70s.
