Hello everyone

I just got Dirt and i just startet playing and everyting seems fine at ulta settingm but after  2-3 min the game starts sturrering. So i thought maybe ulta is to high so i set it lower... and lower.. and lower all up to ulta low.
And its keeps getting worse and worse.

Im running;
Processorr; FX8350 OC at 4.5ghz
Graphics card; R9 390
Motherboard; MSI970 gaming
Ram: 16BG ddr3 1600mhz
All my drivers etc. are up to date. And i dont get this with any other game modern game.

What else is running in the background? If your are clever enough to overclock your cpu,you should know that  google search is your biggest friend in these situations.
My money is on your cpu overheating,(why people overclock is still a mystery to me,just buy next model up lol).
heres some info from overclockers mag

With only a few tweaks within the ASUS Crosshair V formula BIOS we were able to bring the AMD FX-8350 to a rock solid 4.9GHz at only 1.45 Volts on the core. We tried to push to 5.0GHz, but we weren’t able to get anything stable even as high as 1.5 Volts. We didn’t want to push to hard since we weren’t quite sure how hot the processor was getting.
AMD Overdrive wouldn’t read the temperatures of our FX-8350 quite right. We ran into this when we looked at the new Trinity APU’s a couple of weeks ago as well. Sitting at idle AOD was showing our processor at only 7.8 Degrees Celsius, we know the Corsair H100 water cooler is good but even it isn’t capable of going sub-ambient without outside help.

Hi..
Are you running the game at another harddisk than the main one?
Is the harddisk where the game is installed more than 75% full?
Is it the same offline/online?
(Edit:) What is your lowest FPS when playing?
Cheers

I've got an FX-8350 OC'd to 4.5ghz, a 970 SC ACX 2.0 and an ASUS M5A99X mobo, with the graphics on Ultra with Advanced Blending OFF at 1080p, on a seperate SSD. I get a slight drop in FPS in some places on some tracks in Monte and Greece, but nothing like you describe.

Thank you guys for the help.

Yes the game is not on my main harddrive ill change that and see it it runs bether becous its unplayable like this. But i did found something else on a forum where it said thete might be a problem with the game not being able to use all 8 cores so i did a change there and it worked but only if i play windowed, in full screen i still get the stutter but its less. But ill try and put it on my main drive anyway and also yes advanced blendering is off and when i play i get about 60-70fps and sometimes drops to low 50.

Thanks for helping

Cool :)
What about V-sync then?
Might help to put it ON for Codemasters' games I've found out.

P.S.
Where did you check the cores settings?
I'm not sure I've ever looked at that :D

It shouldn't be on the same drive as your Operating System. Ideally, both should be on seperate SSD's. You're right, the game doesn't use all 8 cores, it only uses 4  but I'm not sure which 4 it uses (1-4, all the odd numbers, or all the even ones) I was going to ask @Hatward about that, but forgot.

Also, have you tried changing Trees in your Graphics Settings to Medium, this can lower the stuttering.

Task Manager - Core Affinity

I have it set to Off in game, and Adaptive in NVidia Controller

I have FPS Drop regarding Particles effect. When i crash the car against snow or dirt or on Rally Cross or when have to much dirt in the air or much cards on the Dirt part of the track my FPS drop a lot. I thought my gtx 680 had enough power to run Particles effect on Low.

My Specs:
AMD FX-8320E 3.2ghz
8gb of ram
Zotac GTX 680 2gb amp edition
SSD for the OS
HD for the games
W10 x64

Graphical Settings: Everything on High, except Particles that i set to Off.

If i turn off Particles i can run the game with 59-60fps in average FPS, with particles on Low i run on average of 19-31(max).

I expect the devs see this!

Thank you all.

Wow, finally found where my 970 is happy - medium with particles / tree / ambient whatnot all on low. It's odd. The benchmarks show an average of 120fps but I'm still suffering occasional lag.

16Gb ddr3, i5-3450, separate SSD with bags of space. Windows 10. Have to say Windows 10 feels a step backwards so perhaps it's the current set of nvidia driver: 368.81.

Do you have V-Sync turned on? I have a HD7870 and run the game on high with V-Sync on and don't get any stutters. The game runs at a solid 69 fps (I overclocked my monitor a bit)

I upgraded to a new Motherboard, Windows 10 and a GTX970 and now I get one massive freeze every few stages where it stalls for 2-4 seconds then continues.

My old system had an i5, 16 gig ram, GTX960 and windows 7. The game ran flawlessly on this rig. I'm still using my i5, ram and original hhd so can only narrow the fault down to:

1. My new motherboard (I've updated all my drivers)

2. The GTX 970 ( possible, if the pc wasn't such a pig to pull out of its resting place id fit the 960 back in and see if that fixed it)

3. Windows 10
